what are your thoughts on the new tamashii news? will we finally get new molds or zeroarts shit?
also this pic IS NOT tamashii, an old concept
Who's excited for 2016? My latest conference call with Bandai was very interesting.
Moguera is so adorable. With his little drill nose and his maser belly. He's just a loveable giant robot.
Just hang tight, and I'll be bringing the highest resolution exclusive reveals.
Pretty much yeah.
My headcanon is that Godzilla 55, 62, and 64 are the same Goji.
>55 Goji causes shit, kills an Anguirus and gets burried in snow/ice.
>62 Goji emerges from the snow/ice, doesn't want to fight King Kong but ends up kicking his ass until Kong gets his electrical powers and they both fall into the ocean.
>64 Goji emerges from sand after getting caught up in a typhoon and kills Mothra due to bad mood, gets webbed up and tossed into the ocean by her kids.
Yeah, but I want a SHMA more. Which is why I posted that.
I'd literally do anything for a SHMA figure of him. Even NECA at this point. I'll even suck dick for it.
I'm pretty sure that's intentional, though. the 55/62 transition was definitely intended to show it continued from Godzilla Raids again. The early Showa era actually has some pretty tight continuity.
I have a pseudo head canon that the Futurians in vs. King Ghidorah caused the Showa/Heisei timeline split. In the "original" timeline", The second Godzilla showed up a year after the first. The dinosaur that saved Mr. Shindo's platoon wasn't the Godzilla from '54, but the second one. But when the Futurians warped Godzilla's body into the Bering Strait, it was left inert(dead, or just slowly healing) until the 70's when the Russian sub sinks and exposes it to radiation, resurrecting it as the second Godzilla, who now first appears in '84 rather than '55.
Granted, it doesn't explain the absence of Showa King ghidorah, Rodan, or others, but perhaps the Futurians messing with the timeline set things off.
>next time, baby
I've always wondered about that movie. Did 85/89 Goji as we know it disappear from reality due to their time travel shenanigans?
Was the Heisei Godzilla from then on the original 54 Goji?
>Was the Heisei Godzilla from then on the original 54 Goji?
No, because the skeletal remains of '54 Godzilla was used as the framework that Kiryu was built around.
LET ME TRY AND DO THIS:
2 godzillas: 1954 and 1955-1975
3 godzillas 1954, dinosaur from lagos that became bigger (that movies time travel crap was pretty bs tho so it kinda screws it up), and junior adult
-2000: no one knows
-megaguirus: 1 godzilla, no OD
-gmk: ressurected 1954 (i think)
-Kiryu Saga: Godzilla1954/kiryu and 1999-2003 godzilla (in continuity of movies)
-GFW: assumed 1954 and the title one
-the current alive godzilla, and the bones of remains of another
No, because the area the Godzillasaurus was sent to got irradiated by a Russian nuclear submarine in the 70's; the implication being that this created the second Godzilla(and a second submarine sinking made him bigger), thus preserving the Heisei timeline more or less. I think most people don't realize that bit because the detail of the russian sub sinking in the 70's is only shown on a headline, not actually read outloud; and the second sinking seems to imply that it's the creation of Godzilla, rather than a second one that just makes him bigger.
the biggest problem is in the current year, they show that Godzilla is STILL in the berring sea. it makes no sense with that factored in. also, that would mean he still should be under the effect of the bacteria
>mfw I haven't seen that image posted in over five years
It's legit but the first one you quoted is fanart
He is, but I'd rather pay extra and get a segmented tail and some additional articulation points.
Never liked the idea of wired tails, that NECA Godzillas have. Not sure if they'd last too long.
The spins and tail are too small and the legs are skinny. Interestingly modders haven taken this into their own hands and swapped the torso+legs of the NECA '94 molds with the '84 and it looks much more appropriate, but fuck that.
The X-Plus '84 is godlike but it has that slightly smaller scaling with every other model in the 12-inch line for whatever reason.
i thought it wa spretty much confirmed ROM isnt in continuity with heisei.
also i debate the GFW in continuity with all those, i think it was just "THESE MONSTERS EXISTED at some point, but not the same way"
The Bandai memorial 84 Godzilla looks amazing but I just know if I grab him, I'm gonna want the rest of that set too, and the memorial box sold separately is much more expensive in the long run.
Nigga I love the X-Plus 84, it's just well known that that specific model is like an inch shorter than the rest of the 30cm line. It's a common "complaint."
High resolution, coming through! Don't forget who loves you guys.
You should probably updating by taking out retarded shit like Godzilla 1998 being in continuity with GMK because they made a tongue-in-cheek joke at the beginning of the film, or how any of those are films are attached to the Kiryu saga (outside of the original Mothra) or Final Wars because they have monsters from those films, when the latter explicitly has no, even implied, connection storywise or beyond the film's creators.
I can tell this general doesn't actually watch the shit they collect.
why are you so mad about rubber-suited monsters?
Well looky here. I have the exact Kiryu timeline!
>In the two Kiryu films, Mothra and Gaira are mentioned.
>DNA tubes of all these monsters appear in the end of the film.
We know Anguirus at least appeared before, cause the fat kid modeled after you, with his face smeared in chocolate, screams 'MOMMY MOMMY A REAL LIVE ANGUIRUS'
And the GDF actively knew the names of the monsters: Kamacuras, King Caesar, Rodan and Ebirah.
The GFW timeline apparently goes:
Godzilla in 1954
Varan in 1957
Baragon in 1965
Gezora in 1970
Titanosaurus in 1975
Megaguirus in 2001
And judging from the fact the people knew the monsters by name, we can assume Anguirus, Hedorah, Rodan, King Caesar, Ebirah, Zilla, Kamacuras, Kumonga, and Mothra all appeared before.
What's so hard to understand?
Godzilla appeared in 1954
Other monsters appeared since the death of it.
A second Godzilla gets trapped into an ice cap in 1960's.
It's like Marvel Universe, you dolt.
"Monsters in the world" =/= same continuity, just that they're using monsters respective film's world. Baragon's acknowledged by name in GMK, but there's zero connection to Frankenstein Conquers The World.
Yeah that's what I thought, stick to collecting repaints kids.
People thought the same when Godzilla was brought out in public in 1966.
No one fucking said it was the same continuity. You sperged out over footage of monsters being used to depict monsters used.
Also, the person posted fucking canon timeline for the Kiryu universe.
And hey, "Gee, the old relic painting of the four legged, one horned monster in that book one person found, looks like this monster that came out of the place where it said it would! And it's name is Baragon! What a magical coincidence!"
>No one fucking said it was the same continuity
This whole discussion is over that guy's shitty, misinformed timeline. Keep up.
Spend less time dusting your repaints/fixing your NECA joints and more time watching the movies pls
I have a feeling I know who this is.
Some tubby bastard that got banned from TohoKingdom because he didn't like the 'happy meal toys' that some companies make.
And no, that time line was pretty accurate.
I was partial to the 'Godzilla vs Split Ends' design.
>I SWEAR TO GOD GODZOOKY IF YOU FUCK...FUCK....FUCKING BACK TALK ME ONE MORE TIME I'LL GET THE BEL- SHIT
>And this is how you spell 'SCREEEEEONK'
>Why did you beat our teacher up?
Hopefully GMK sells well and we can start getting bacl to the glory days of monsterarts productions.
i mean, its a sin we havent got an anguirus yet, and i want KiryuGoji with Akane accessory
>look everyone is expecting to throttle curious George over there
>In the final round I want you to literally take a dive. If we play are cards right both we'll be set for life!
Godzilla would go on to squander his winnings and forced to fight and aging moth and her children two years later....
>we've done the take ten times aleady
>yeah and your acting sucked ten times
>They make a SHMA monster arts of Anguirus.
>It's based on the Trendmasters SWOLE-guirus
Trendmasters was going to release:
Kumonga and Destoroyah made it figure stage.
Manda and Kamacuras only got to planning stages.
and you guys thought Shin Goji got kinda edgy...
I got the revo Angy last year off of ebay. I paid retail price.
They listed it without his name.
I am such a lucky fuck.
I'll never get over not getting a Hannah Barbera Godzilla figure.
So the suit actor who played Godzilla in GMK is gonna be at a con in the spring. I'm trying to decide what figure of the kaiju he played to get signed. What do you guys think. My options are these and have a figure of each
Mothra vs Godzilla
Invasion of Astro Monster
Destroy All Monsters
Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla
Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster
The Return of Godzilla
Godzilla vs Biollante
Gamera trilogy from the 90s
Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 1974
Terror of Mechagodzilla
Godzilla x Mechagodzilla 2002 (my personal choice for GOAT)
Gamera Guardian of the Universe
Gamera Attack of Legion
So word is Goji it going to have three forms in the movie. So the question is, is that the end result of radiation exposure or will he heal himself as the film progresses.
Just be happy we're actually getting something new, and that the line isn't completely dead
You're the only one probably.
Why risk going bankrupt when Godzilla, Mothra, MechaGodzilla and Ghidorah rake in the dough? They tried with obscure kaiju like Baragon and 56 Rodan with Revoltech. Guess what. They stopped making kaiju.
I really want 62 Goji, guys.
Mosugoji is pretty cute though.
>asking for a translation means I'm a summer fag
>They tried with obscure kaiju like Baragon and 56 Rodan with Revoltech. Guess what. They stopped making kaiju.
Correlation =/= causation
Bandai scooped up exclusive rights to Goji, MG, and KG, and Kaiyodo took their Mothra Larva and jet Jaguar off the table, because what's the point of making more if they can't make the important ones?
I want to murder everyone working at Bandai both back then and right now
But I must live my life knowing that justice will never be served. So here I weep
We'll never get an articulated half human figure
I got this. It sits with my Godzilla and Ultra-Kaiju.
I didn't mean it like that, buddy. Just giving you Goji pics.
Last scene makes me laugh hard for some reason
Well in the English dub a round table of scientists proclaim Godzilla is a mutated tyrannosaurus and Angilas is a mutated stegosaurus from the Jurassic era 30,000 years ago. Because if you're going to fuck reality you might as well go balls deep.
figured this is probably the best place to ask, can anyone identify the creatures to the left and right of the picture?
I have no idea, I wasn't around back then lol. But I don't think Japanese pop culture science has even been great, because in the 1980s a movie called Fantasy Force said Abe Lincoln was a general in WWII and I had to stop watching.
Whoa holy shit. If thats the new kaiju from the next movie its odd that theyd have figurines of it. Even odder that theyd show it. I know my kaiju and the closest thing that looks like is the weird things the jar jars ride on in episode 1. Besides looking like Clover obviously.
Found these 2 at my local 2nd and Charles
8 dollars a piece
I wasn't planning on seeing them but I grabbed them up as soon as I saw them
how did I do?
Well it could be Anugirus, Titanosaurus, Gabara, Gorosaurus, King Ceaser, Baragon, Varan, or Monster X
But in actuality, it's probably going to be another Godzilla
>tfw articulated Titanosaurus never
>it could be Anugirus, Titanosaurus, Gabara, Gorosaurus, King Ceaser, Baragon, Varan, or Monster X
Nah, I love blind, fatty Godzilla. I'm supporting it. And I REALLY hope they make Mothra from it. I like that design so much more than the fluffy turd of Heisei. (Plus I already have the Showa revoltech)
>It's not a repaint and it's one of his best designs ever. fuck yeah I'm gonna support it.
Suit (heh) yourself. I just think there's a bleak future in store for kaiju collectors if we keep letting Bandai release godzillas and nothing else. At some point it's gotta get boring, right?
>but speaking of repaints, they should rerelease Kiryu at a decent price
Kiryu had a (very overpriced) reissue if I recall. Of course, I was too poor to afford either so I wouldn't mind a reissue of one of them myself.
>Suit (heh) yourself
>At some point it's gotta get boring, right?
eventually, but it's taking them forever to make anything at all so that'll take a long time. It'll get boring if they start making suits I don't like or if they make them too expensive for me to want to buy them. I was lucky to get 2014 goji for about 45 bucks, but Godzilla 2000 retailing at 75 bucks is a bit too much for me
Your pretty much shit outta luck man. Everything is pretty much aftermarket prices now. But like those other anons said try Gigan. Honestly I usually just search for used monsterarts on ebay with bidding and hope I get a good deal. 3 out of 5 times I usually do.
Is that what that filthy scalper everyone's always talking about looks like? He looks like a vagrant. And this is TK's liaison with Tamashii? Jesus, someone get dis man sum crack!
Sorry mate. I literally got the last Destroyah on Amazon before the aftermarket price set in so if you need to direct your anger I guess you can do it at me. Also BST is great for monsterarts too, got Gamera for 45 bucks. Came in perfect condition. If you post a WTB on bst make sure you ask for pictures with timestamp, most of them will try to scam you. Good luck kaiju hunter
Yup paypal, ONLY do goods and services and just ask for tracking. If it looks sketchy just drop it. If somehow you do get screwed paypal 100% covers you if your the buyer so you really dont have anything to lose except some time.
To be fair mostly everyone in bst are legit and ive never more than two issues with it. Everyone ships priority 2 day as well so you get it quicker than amazon or whatever. Its definitly worth looking into.
Theyll come anon, fuck at least they have something actually sculpted and ready to preorder, instead of just showing it and then putting in toy hell forever.
Looking at you biollante vs godzilla gojira
guess they're going for a fully radiated monster and keeping some design of the original (1st appearance of godzilla)
lets see how the movie/story is. could be a retelling of the original.
>all these scrubs complaining about the design
I want newfags out of my fandom.
I fucking hate mandarake
It doesn't matter if I spell it in English or Japanese it always brings 0 results
Do I need a Japanese keyboard to type Japanese letters to get any results
Godzilla 0 results
Gojira 0 results
I don't understand that site
At least amiami is smart
amiami's got that problem too as far as monsterarts go.
Try searching for the rebirth godzilla, you won't find it. You need to see it in the "related products" from some other kaiju toy to access the page, even though they have it in stock.
Type in monsterarts dumbass, either in Japanese or English you should still get some results. Be sure to have sold out products shown that way you can gauge what a reasonable price would be for whatever you want.
