[ooo] LEGO Ideas Project of the Day [ooo]

>>International Space Station
Hey fagbot, build that with actual bricks and see how much it sags. I hate CAD only designs on Ideas because they don't even bother trying to build it before expecting 10,000 people to blindly support it.
Polandbro, don't know if you saw it, but your President Business minifig pulled double-duty in the last episode of LQ, playing two characters!
The first one was "irradiated businessman #471", seen here wandering around inside the Octan convenience store.
And the second was "lead thug", who broke into the Miller farm before the main character could break in.
I also have a great plan for the orange baseplate!
So the guy on Brickset who leaked the news about the Detective's Office months ago said LEGO's doing a Ferris Wheel to go with Fairground Mixer, and a kid-friendly monster theme(not a sequel to Monster Fighters), that may or may not be licensed.
Went with the white stripes, and tried changing the roof to white too. Not sure how I feel about this, might switch back to grey.
Also I made a small flatcar to hold some trees in. Besides the steam engine and box car I already have, should I add one more thing to it?
In my humble opinion, you need the roof to pop a little less, maybe black of dark grey, avin the colors be less of a structural presence, putting a little bit of gold, could warm up everything a little bit, making more Christmassy.
They really need to make a better castle
The minifigs are great but the building is absolutely disgusting
Why not develop your own modular castle standard? That way you can make a whole bunch of castle parts and rearrange them however you want
I've been doing just that for my castle, basing everything on 8 or 16 wide sections.
It's more inspired by the Modular Buildings sets then the simpler castle sets you are referring to, but it works
I just found http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/7126_Battle_Droid_Carrier sitting on a shelf behind some other stuff, forgotten. It's missing a few parts, and the six normal battle droids are gone, but the pilot is there. I have no idea where the parts went or where the droids are, and I don't even remember buying old Star Wars sets. I thought I only started this year. But I also recently found a red lightsaber with chrome handle and a Qui-Gon with yellow face, missing his hair and lightsaber. So... Apparently I got at least two sets back in the day.
God I hope they do. My best guess is that now that the Hobbit/LotR series are on their last waves, when they restart the castle line again they will be more creative as they wont see it as a competitor for the movie lines.
It was my first Ep. I set, and my second SW set after the Endor speeder bikes. Also my only red lightsaber until 2006 (Nuparu Inika) and my only sith until 2009 (finally got Darth Vader's TIE).
I never realized how much I wanted Lego Scooby-Doo until now. I don't see how they could make a full theme out of it, but the Mystery Machine would work as a standalone set, and someone already put a great one on Ideas.
That has to be one of the most puzzling features of recent castles. I think they've been doing that all the way back to Fantasy Era's castle.
Kinda hyped about this since I only got to appreciate the line after finally breaking down and getting the Swamp Creature towards the end. I'd rather it not be a licensed theme though.
Sit a "King Business" in there, and all of a sudden it becomes awesome
"YOU THINK I GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOU PELTING ME WITH PART NO. 6143?! HAH!"
This is when you load up a 6082 and watch him piss himself.
I like the way you think. Reminds me a bit more of those LGB passenger coaches.
Also I added some wreaths because why not?
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated was pretty cool, but this new Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! series just sounds (and especially LOOKS) retarded. Less serious, no depth, meaningless reboot. The art is blatantly cheap and looks like poorly drawn versions of the characters that we would expect to see from a quick one-off reference in a show like Uncle Grandpa.
It'll hopefully be canceled before Season 1 even finishes, if we're lucky.
>I have some white pieces that have yellowed horribly. Is there any way to fix this or should I just order replacements?
I can't vouch for this, but I've heard Oxy recommended a lot:
Not exactly sure how I feel about the brown doors.
> It'll be like the new series
So it will be like TMNT where we got some garbage "shellraizer" instead of glorious Turtle Van Master Race.
We'll get some shitty NuMystery Machine
It still looks weird, the brown stripe just make it look stranger.
Also I changed the roof back to light grey, since the 2x4 slope doesn't come in dark grey.
Considering this is a christmas train, I'd like to keep the stripe white. It looks alright, but I don't want to stray away from that.
This has probably been brought up in many Lego threads, but I don't lurk here often.
Are these total shit? I'm in it for the novelty for sure. If they're compatible, frankly they seem like a decent deal for the price as long as they don't fall apart upon playing with.
Oh, I didn't know. It looked to me like they had a number of stylistic differences in there, but I guess they just have different groups working on them or something.
Also, because they do the Kim Possible lip thing, Black Widow looks like she has a mustache.
I dont support buying knockoffs of the ones made by lego, but I bought the thing, gray and red hulk. They are ok, if you leave your ocd aside and just accept a chinese quality control
Also LDD just crashed my five year old laptop for the fifth time in the last three hours. I think it's about time I move it over to the desktop.
I just ordered a Lego Heroica set (Fortaan) and a bunch of extra shit off of brick link. Can anyone post photos of cool and useful micro builds for my dungeons? Anything that would fit in a medieval setting: elements for forests, swamps, castles, caves, deserts, underworld, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sheng Yuan has weird shoulders instead. It´s easier to accept the even crotch than those blocky shoulders.
Quality is good. I vastly prefer the leg connections the knock offs have since they don´t damage the legs when swapping like Legos parts do and everything is very firm and actually sticks together unlike for example the official Iron man figs I have where the first one I got had zero clutch in his feet after just a few months. The big figs I have no problem with. The prints are maybe a little smudgy but I have yet to hear of a case where the print was totally fucked up.
I would look for a better place that sells them like Aliexpress. A good price one could land would be ≈80 cents per minifig. The big figs are very uneven, I could get 3packs of different Hulks and Things for 4 dollars in total but Venom, Hulkbuster and Goblin are 4 dollars each.
I wouldn't mind if tail pieces for the werewolf and other humanoid beasts were just cape pieces because it'd save lego money on making new molds and be great for minifigures sitting in a vehicle without having to remove the bits.
So some autist might remember me. I bought a Horizon Express loco on Bricklink.
The guy put it all in one bag. Like, the whole fucking thing. Apparently he wanted to make sorting difficult because I am a bitch.
What I really don't get is there's a sealed bag of small parts like lights and shit.
Anyway. I don't know whether I should order a 60052 locomotive now, or if I should throw that money on Minecraft sets for my brother's christmas presents...
>550 part order
>2 ziploc bags with a smaller bad in each for tiny bits
At least I got enough of the parts to determine that my build will be sturdy.
This is my mancave right now. I'm sorting out some of my old lego stuff, and selling some of my other stuff. Broken up on the ground is my UCS Millenium Falcon, which I hope to sell for $1,500.
I've already made over $3,000 selling Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, the factory modular set and the Firehouse, as well as my UCS Star Destroyer.
I'm pretty much only selling stuff that I already had built before. I'm keeping the vast majority of my collection, which will be stored until I can find some interest in this hobby again... sadly I'm in another "Dark Age." I kinda regret all the money I've spent on Lego, but at least I can make back a lot of it since most sets increase in value, especially older stuff.
Also, this is how I store stuff in most of those drawers. It allows me to organize my stuff my color, as well as saves a shit ton of space that would be wasted if they were loose. It also preserves longevity of the pieces because they aren't brushing or scraping against each other.
I'll post a few more too, hopefully give you guys with a large amount some ideas on how to organize.
Making dividers in the drawers is easy too using some duct tape and cardboard.
I even do this in a lot of the smaller drawers to save space. Basically every drawer I have is 99% full, I actually have to put extras in loose bags because I have no more drawer space.
It's usually bad to stick plates together, as they are very difficult to get apart, but with some oddly shaped plates I just stick them together in a way that they can be easily pried apart when needed.
Somehow I hit submit before I finished typing a response and it got all fucked up.
Here's how I have to sort stuff in the smaller drawers.
Unless they have specially molded heads ala the Simpsons I don't see them turning out to be that different looking from what minifigs of the classic version looked like. The clothes are essentially the same, it's the art style that's different.
I really, really hope they make more tail pieces with the waist connection. Scratchy and Rocket's tails are so neat. And why stop at tails, belts could be a whole new minifig accessory.
Playing around in Photoshop.
Look what my co worker brought to regen.
I wonder what sets it was used in, it's a storage for three battieries with switch.
Just saying, if warner, the owners of scooby doo right?, licensed scooby doo to a company no one on /toy/ even knew existed what chance is there of a sustainable attraction for lego to ride off on when DC is doing much better, lol batman, and not just a one shot like that back to the future and ghost busters sets, who again is also, I believe to be owned by warner. It just seems something nostalgic for lego to do because I doubt kids would buy no name monsters and anyone hardly remembers. Look at how monsters fighter did, great original theme but didn't do too well because kids don't care unless its from something they already know before hand.
>The Freak and Man-Crab from Mystery Incorporated
Here's the original if anyone wants to play with it. I'd be very grateful if anyone else has any techniques to quickly render photos into comic book-y images. The way I'm doing it only takes two steps, which is better for me.
>I'd be very grateful if anyone else has any techniques to quickly render photos into comic book-y images.
Duplicate layer. Select top layer.
Make sure your selected colors on your toolbar are default White/Black
in the Layers window choose Linear Light from the dropdown menu
Adjust Opacity etc to suit
>tfw i have that
>tfw all those droid arms and bodies to make cool things
>tfw over time most of the arms broke
>tfw most of them are useless now
>no Mobile Frame Zero discussion or general of its own
I really wish it were easier to put together a "beginner's pack" of parts for MFZ. Buying them all from a million different shops on Bricklink is both maddening and expensive.
Saved this poor girl from the trash bin at Target.
If you're going to steal minifigures, at least steal everything. This poor girl is now headless.
So what are you all working on?
I'm about to bricklink this qt.
yup, over 25 years old., it belonged to his daughter , now he fixed it so his granddaughter could play with it.
but she's 4 so i doubt it's worth fixing so early.
>paid three BL orders last week and impatiently waiting for every one.
i know i always must wait two weeks but come ooooon.
Where does one normally upload lxf file instructions? I thought you can upload them directly to Rebrickable but apparently they are just dirty middlemen and you still have to upload all the shit to other sites.
Hey guys, me and some friends have been discussing ways to do DnD with Lego, I'm sure some of you have done it it/do it, any tips? I was wondering if I should get a marker and split my baseplates into grids. I have a couple big off-brand baseplates which I wouldn't mind marking up.
use the design behind Shelob and MOC on your female torso. be careful to counterbalance the back end with whatever you stick on the front.
should work okay.
Just recently ordered two Lego TIE Fighters and the TIE Defender. Got one fighter and the defender now, built the fighter into an Interceptor. Just waiting for the second TIE Fighter so I can build it into an actual TIE Fighter.
>TFW I may have condemned a Batman to the trash
>Found him on a Wal-Mart shelf
>Couldn't find any holes in any Batman lego sets
>No idea where he came from
>I left him there because fuck Batman
>A couple of months ago
>Store has 50 % off on a few sets, one being the Endor Rebel Trooper Pack with the Stormtrooper
>Only one left, really want it for the stormie
>It's slightly opened
>Someone has taped it
>Rattle it, eh it feels full
>mfw all bags and 2 additional polybags amd 1 CMF someone had stuffed inside it
I followed these directions for it. It's built using only parts from the TIE Fighter set, with another section detailing improvements that can be made with other pieces.
I'd considered that, but someone had already done the hard work for me on planning the Interceptor build from the TIE Fighter. Plus I got it cheap with no minifigs.
My "X-Wing modifications" came up recently but I didn't have any pictures or anything. Well, I still don't really have any pictures of the X-Wing, because really the "modification" just extends to moving the "Red Five" plates from the bottom wings to the top wings to turn it into "Red Ten", and then swapping out the pilot and the droid. Here, however, is Theron Nett and R2-X2 happily at work in their X-Wing.
And chilling outside. The only real modification made to the two of them is that I stole R2-D2's christmas tree body from the advent calender for R2-X2, since the Microfighter didn't come with a body for him.
Bought and built today because 'Rewards bucks made it free.
Bear is going to my holiday set up. Rest will be parted out.
I'm guessing that fish is supposed to be leaping up that waterfall, but because of that white skeleton arm it looks more like the bear devised some kind of salmon catching mechanism and is watching in sadistic glee as the fish suffocates where it's held aloft out of the water.
And how exactly? I can only put the entire lever somewhere else. as far as I understand and with the rocker I would like to do something like picrelated.
I found out, stuff was way lighter than I thought, so I could order a whole bunch more than I originally expected.
Gonna start some small armybuilding now.
it works the same either way, if you click the ball at the end of the lever, the rotation arrows should be aligned to let you rotate the arc of the lever, as opposed to clicking the base, same goes for the rocker, if you click on the inner plate(the rocking part) the rotater will move that piece, and vice versa if you click on the outer shell
thats a darn diddley of a thought
i dunno shaggy and fred could be done with a "woody" body set up, for the gangliness
the girls could be normal figs,
and scoob? well, they could just paint app the regular city dog mould
Does it bother anyone else that the X-WIngs are white now?
Has no one at TLG seen STAR WARS before?
>pic pretty fucking related
Last year's VV for comparison.
Not sure which I like more, Stegosaur was more fun to build with the wierd angles and asymmetry though.
Bear in mind the real thing clicks in steps of 22.5 degrees, which can be a bit of a pain when working out how to get it exactly like a real click hinge.
If accurate bends are not important, then just highlight the joint, and the arrow keys will let you move stuff in 18 degree steps.
I know how you feel, but I took them instead.
>See police motorcycle shell on the shelf
>Just pocket it
>Later see Spider-Man vs Electro while actually shopping
>Still pocket it
I don't know, everything happened too fast.
All I remember was me building an 8066 and this piece was loose. Upon closer inspection I found this situation.
It's the worst case but not the only one.
>fabuland pimp now with bitches
scoobydoo might neutralize the cancer that is the Dong bing theorem license. Even though i'm not that into lincensed stuff at all.
I'm also all kinds of game for most of these >>4538927 ideas.
oh, fucking wow. That looks atrocious.
Clonewars shit has the wonky showaccurate faces too, Why shouldn't they do this for other animated stuff?
reminds me of Biorex's Big Fang
that's one sad bipedrobot
I already clikitedy claked dem clikits
that's to keep her in, not you out
