Manifold Insights is my favorite card from C16. Three guaranteed non-lands is great for 3 mana. You might be thinking "well they'll just give you the worst cards". But you get around this by only putting good cards in your deck.

Aristocrats. If anyone hits you, you get to take monarch back and then fuel sac outlets further. Built correctly, you won't need any substantial draw outside of the monarchy due to how often you spend your whole turn wheeling in and out of your yard.

Thread Question: If the deck has B, Liliana Vess is one I tend to try and fit in.
If it has W, Eldrazi Displacer is just a neat package of value.
If it has G, Ramunap Excavator has just became a favorite.
If it has R, Pyroblast and REB are what I absolute love to use.
As for colorless cards: Ashnod altar is an absolute all star in any deck I play, no matter the theme.

Because it looks like Ixalan will have a rules update that makes all planeswalker cards now "LEGENDARY planeswalker" cards. Sisay spiked the hardest but you should also buy Reki, the History of Kamigawa right now too.

People speculated hard on Sisay and she has relaxed slightly now. It looks like she will become an automatic inclusion in super friends decks, which are really popular with casuls. Sisay, Honor-Worn Shaku (tapping planeswalkers for mana will be very cute), and Reki are the most obvious cards affected by this but if you find more then please share.

The Ixalan rare sheet is either fake or the game is heading for a whole new level of cancerous rules changes with the legendary planeswalker bullshit as well as new "Oblivion Ring" effect rules changes because there is a creature there that costs only 3 mana or something and can create infinite etbs or draw games by exiling/returning itself.

The new boxes are pretty large and have two booster in them, but can be seen through the top/bottom so you can see inside them pretty easy. the tokens are apperently in front to probably hide what they are, but you can still see the set symbol which helps for figuring out with year it has. I easily recognized one as the c14 (with green tokens so obviously freyalise) and c15 (one had the red elemental token in front which ended up being the boros one, and anouther had the experience token in front so which one it was was a mystery)

Aside from being able to tell the decks from the tokens/set symbols, the commander decks are a good bit bigger then the intro decks the other cubes have so picking them out initially was pretty easy.

Also each of them had a khans an bfz booster in them, not sure if that was true for the non commander ones, but one pack of khans had a polluted delta so I am not complaining.

The only reason the new Jace is legendary is because his ultimate creates two nonlegendary copies of him. It's supposed to represent him creating a perfect body double of himself and the rules have to get a little wonky for him. So in the meantime, I need a relatively budget commander to build. I bought the anthology and Ezuri's precon as a reference to what I have. What I've been considering are

I taught her the rules a week before by using a 2 Amonkhet draft decks (with all the rares taken out) and playing her with it patiently. Magic is easy to teach but then sometimes a few concepts are hard to grasp like the stack.

After teaching her how to play sorta, I explained card rarities and began adding rares to the deck. This also allowed me to explain mana curves / mana bases by sorting the cards by their cmc.

Now with a general grasp of the game and some stronger cards we played it out. I admit I let her win a couple games to get her excited for more but eventually she would steal a game and then two from me.

Afterwards, I would occasionally text her card previews during spoiler season because I was excited.

By then she was so hyped for HOU that the rest was history.

This is like a step by step guide on how to get your normie pals into magic.

Because our other 2 backed out, my buddy and I played our precon 1v1. I think the Vampire deck is fucking sick, and Eadgar Markov's eminence ability is just so stupid good.

I played Wizards. I got myself into a loop with that 6CMC Minotaur, Havengul Lucy and using Inalla's Eminence ability to get tons of value. It was pretty fucking awesome.

But yeah, it looks like the Eadgar Markov is gonna be the best of the Eminence commanders.
