So I was flicking through the Admech list and I decided I wanted a big flying Lord of War to contrast with all the ground troops.

Anything good that's shown up with 8e that costs less than a Stormbird or something? Ideally I want medium-strength dakka firing in all directions, I like my Superheavies Stormhammer Style. Was thinking of modelling some kind of two-balloon airship with a row of rotors and turrets underneath and such, obviously all Admeched and Cabled up to look a bit like a Mega-Vulturax.

Probably not worth it given how many things I'm probably going to want to point the billion guns at, then. Autocannon for the PMarines, Hbolters and assault cannon for the regulars, Hellstrikes for vehicles. Let's be honest, turning the SoB into another Space Marine chapter would be the easiest way for GW to give us SoB plastics. We just need female marines and they'd be able to reuse a lot of the same SM bits like shoulder pads, weapons, they'd use the same vehicles as Space Marines, they'd just be another Space Marine army, maybe even with its own codex like the countless other Space Marine armies out there.

Hell, they'd probably reuse the design from pic related to do it, except with guns instead of hammers.

Should watch the Doctor Who episode "A Nightmare in Silver". It's essentially the 40k episode. Set in 43,000, the Emperor of Mankind, Defender of Humanity, has gone missing. The day is saved by it turning out the disgusting human being in real life midget is the Emperor and he alone activates the planet killer bomb the Imperial Guard were equipped with to blow up th e planet and kill the cybermen. The Doctor, Emperor and companions are teleported aboard a warping in ship that recognised the Emperor's bomb code and save them.

Say I have a unit and to the left of it is an enemy unit 4 inches away and to the right is an enemy unit 9 inches away
Could I declare a multi charge, tank the overwatch from them both and then charge the unit on the right if I roll a 9+ but if I get less than that I just charge the other unit instead?

I had this idea that will never come to life.

It is about a FPS based on guard or any other expendable troops. the main point is that you have a set amount of "lives" for each mission being the number of actual units in your squad. The idea is that it would be easy to die, once you die the camera would jump off and you'd get to see (from a relative safe spot so you don't insta die again) how you just died from the eyes of the other soldier.

Some missions would have pretty much infinite lives (krieg sieges) and others you'd have to restart if you fuck up (catachan inflitrations). You could choose the approach to how to solve the missions or warzones faced by picking up regiments with different playstyles and spending resources for munitorum approved upgrades like more heavy weapons teams, air support and what not.

The game could be easily played as orks too or other factions with fodder and even have completely alternative approaches if you run mechanised.

Looking for some lore and mechanics advice for a campaign I'm trying to set up for myself and two friends.

Lore: I play T'au (Bork'an), while my friends play Tzeentch Daemons and Necrons (he's thinking Sautekh). I think this could potentially work out with the relative locations of the T'au empire, the Sautekh empire, and the Hadex Anomaly. I was thinking of centering the conflict around one specific planet that had some macguffin that we're trying to fight over? As will be illustrated below, I'm considering having Tzeentch flip-flop between helping the two sides. I'm aware both Necrons and T'au don't take kindly to Daemons (last I heard, T'au don't even publicly recognize their existence), but I figure that if the stakes are dire enough, that they won't turn down somebody else attacking their primary opponent.

Mechanics: One of my principle concerns is is that the Tzeentch player is a much more casual player than the other two of us (originally chose Daemons due to high-RNG along with diverse model range). I've thought of a few solutions to this:
1. Give the Tzeentch player a handicap, such as extra points or CP, and do a standard FFA
2. Have the Tzeentch player flip-flop sides in 2v1 matches, where the single player gets bonus points (750+750 vs 1250, or something similar)
3. Play up the Tzeentch, and have them not competing with the other two for their main objective of any given match, but instead having a secret objective each game, and possibly a slightly smaller force. IE "Ensure both of their warlords die," "Ensure player A/B wins, but only by a margin of at most 3 VP, " "Ensure that each other player loses at least X units before the game ends", "At the start of turn four, flip a coin in secret to determine player A or player B. Ensure that player wins." etc. etc.

I'm partial to option 3 for the Tzeentchian flavor and putting direct pressure off of the weakest player, but clearly it requires the most additional rules to make work.

As for the rest of the campaign, I really like the Grid style; I was thinking perhaps a series of missions decided grid-style with relatively low point-levels, culminating in a larger game with bonuses based on how many games were won previously? Depending on what was decided for the Tzeentchian player, they could potentially enter into this fight as a full 3-way FFA with bonus points based on previously successful objectives?

As an added option, I'm thinking about having it such that the T'au and Necrons decide their lists at the same time they pick which strategy they're using, as they have a rough but not perfect understanding of what sorts of missions they may find themselves in.

Suggestions, comments? Does this sound like an interesting campaign?

If you guys could pick starting fresh in 8th edition between space wolves, tau and imperial guard who would you choose. Also I enjoy infantry models and artillery so I am leaning towards IG I just never played them so I don't know their upsides and downsides.

I'm putting together my first models right now (pretty excited) and I have a question about wysiwyg. The tournaments around here require it, plus, I think it will be cool if my dudes all have the right weapons anyways. My questions is though, what do I do for Grey Hunters, they have bolters, bolt pistols, and chainswords and only 2 hands? How do I model all 3? Do I like glue the bolters to their belts, or will people just know they have all 3 cuz they are grey hunters.

For standard, basic wargear like pistols and grenades it is generally accepted if you don't glue them on the model.

Maybe try and find somebody who bought the Burning of Prospero box, that one has 30 sheathed chainswords that would be ideal to use for Grey Hunters. And generally people have those left over.
