Error: You cannot reply to this thread anymore. Sorry Cataquack Warrior
>Flying (Free All)
This doesn't seem like something that should be a perk, but the effect of Pixie Dust. Having it as a perk implies pixie dust would't work on it's own (like using the dust on people in later jumps) Not sure if that is intended.

>Starstuff (700 CP)
Drop to 600 CP. Modify first line to "A refilling bag of the mythical, green..."

>Kiss
what happens to the kiss after it absorbs a projectiles power? It's not destroyed, is it?

>Companions
change name to Companions & Pets
>Nana (50 CP)
>Dream Pet (100 CP, Discount Drop-In)
>NeverBeast (400 CP, Discount Fairy)-
>Never Bird (100 CP)
>Crocodile (500 CP)
Add a line to each saying as pets they don't count against companion limits.
A line allowing an existing pet to be imported at the above (gaining it's powers and alt-form) would also be nice.

>You’re My Fairy (200 CP, Discount Lost Boy)-
reduce cost to 100 CP before discount, and bump CP to 500 to match import option.

>Here Comes the Navy (400 CP, Discount Pirate)
>Princess Tiger Lily (400 CP, Discount Native)
>NeverBeast (400 CP, Discount Fairy)
>Crocodile (500 CP)
>Tinkerbell (500 CP)
These are look too expensive for the power of the character.

>Dreams of Neverland
Since you removed the Drop-In discount, discount this to those who take the Forever Neverland drawback.

>Mixed Identity (100 CP, Free Drop-In)
This have some good synergy with Dress up, so I can see why it is in the Drop In tree instead of the Pirate or Lost boy, but I think Mother knows best is the better Drop In 100 CP perk. Switch the two?
>>
>>54026078
Clearly off topic, but I do believe that is Faygo growing on that tree.

Questions for the maker of the Rise of Legends jump.

Is it pretty much finished or do you think you might add some other units to the jump like the Rukh's? Did you decide if you wanted to add a list of the hero abilities and ultimates?

Does Light of Divinity let you make other Cuotl tech, or just their lasers? If not is there any other way to learn how to make it?

I'm looking up the heroes on the wiki and other sites, and I can't find anything about who Andromolek or Yontash are, heroes you mention in the examples of the Hero Power and Hero Ultimate perks. Are they like those mercenary units you can get?
>>
>>54026052
Jumps have pretty much always had the option to switch your sex, and I've been seeing the option offered for free with increasing frequency. Our sexual identity has always been tenuous, at best.
Which makes it so weird that the idea of being a different sex in a jump makes a lot of people freak out.

Not the Jumpmaker, but Yontash has a page on the "vsbattles" wiki. They're both Heroes that you can recruit and that only appear during the single-player campaign (which is fairly extensive). There're something like an additional 5 Vinci Heroes, 3 or so Alin, and I think just one Cuotl dude (Yontash). Although their is also an additional Cuotl God that shows up in one mission, without dialogue, and lacking any unique in-game powers (if I remember right).

Did I miss something along the way that suggests everyone is capable of magic in these setting, or are you saying that just by entering the jump we've gotten the spark for all the systems?

There's been plenty of arguments raised in the past. Most important one is how it's changing the basic rules of jumpchain by effectively adding more companion slots, letting you have out more companions then you should be able to have. How is this shitposting?

I'm a very lazy Sith who ignores the half of the doctrine that makes you stab everyone and yourself in the back cut, or cut yourself for power. Because it's dumb. And interprets the other half as a glorified TED talk.

Honestly my Force philosophy boils down to "shooting lightning while screaming about unlimited power is a pretty good party trick"
>>
>>54026664
This allows you to take people you've imported as individuals previously and keep them all active at once by merging them into a single slot. Though from then on they're limited by splitting perks as normal, so I don't know why you'd ever want to.

>“It is, indeed, a thing,” Yornhaldt said with a smile, “but your question is valid. The answer is…it depends. There are some paths of magical practice which preclude…multitasking, so to speak. Some followers of certain gods become so saturated with holy energies that they cannot sustain any other form of magic. Some demonologists become so hopelessly corrupted with infernal magic that they cannot use other forms, but rather aggressively hunt arcane power sources to feed their addiction. Certain kinds of fairies cannot use other forms of magic—”

>“Can dryads?” Gabriel asked.

>“Nope!” Juniper said brightly.

>“…and, though it is by far more rare, there are wizards who become so immersed in the arcane that they are unable to make use of other schools. For the most part, however, and for most people, magic is a thing they do, or that they have, not a thing that they are. There is nothing stopping the majority of practitioners from branching out… Except the almost comically mundane barrier of time.”

It's in chapter 3-3, in his lecture, and specifically the bit at the end makes me think it. The thing with the Wand was, I believe, just him talking about enchantment, specifically (though I have no idea why enchantment would be special). Of course, I might be wrong, since the webnovel's pretty big, and I haven't reread it in a while. Either way, the perks are supposed to be more of the "Bring you up to competence" levels of thing, rather than necessarily, "You can use this now."

I mean, keeping the 'meta' behind the magic in mind, I'd be especially surprised if there was any real limit.

Aaaand misunderstood your question. No, if you want to be a human and dip divine magic, you'll need a god, yeah. But if you're a race that has inbuilt access to a certain magic type, like elves being capable of arcane magic, then you're capable of it, you're just not necessarily trained in it without the perk.

I dunno, it's...honestly just never come up for me? Even after parts of my soul started turning female way, way down the line in Infernals I've just never really seen the point.

Maybe it's because of the existential mistrust, despair and grudge that's defined much of my life. Maybe it's the way I had to hone my sense of self into a narrow focus because I wanted to weaponise. And maybe it's just because I always figured if you really wanted to, you could achieve the same effect with some illusions with far fewer personal quandries.

But I've just never really seen the point of changing sex. It just doesn't seem like it'd add anything meaningful.

>>54026566
I've always preferred the idea that Jedi are adventures who travel the galaxy to fight evil while also having fun and making decisions based on their own morality. So when it comes to Star Wars and the Force my jumpers is basically a weird mix between Revan, Jolee, Qui-gon, and Kyle Katarn.
>>
>>54026904
Yeah, but none of those are extra abilities on top of what you already have.
>>
>>54026935
And some races are just inherently capable of using different kinds of magic in the setting. The perks aren't extra abilities, they're just training.
>>
>>54026962
Yes, if they have to be trained, then you don't already have them. Especially when the "magic" in this setting relies on a background magic field which only exists there.

>jumpers is basically a weird mix between Revan, Jolee, Qui-gon, and Kyle Katarn.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take the new version off the drive until I make the changes.

Flying- That's a good point. I mostly wanted to have a chance to talk about the details of flying, and distinguish it from the Advanced Flying perk. Maybe I could move some of the details down to the Pixie Dust item. Or on the other hand, I could say that the free perk lets you fly whenever you're exposed to pixie/fairy dust, no matter how old you are; in the book, only the "heartless" (children) could fly, and you couldn't when you got older.

Mixed Identity- Well, the main reason I put it in Drop-in was because its inspiration was sort of a "fourth wall" gimmick with the actors instead of something within the setting, and I've always seen those sort of abilities as best fitting for a Drop-In. I thought that Mixed Identity was weaker than Mother Knows Best, but I can change them around if you want.

Dreams of Neverland- That's a good idea; I'll do that.

Companions- I see your point about the pets. My one concern is that the level of intelligence in the animals on Neverland is sort of variable, with Nana and the Never Bird debatably having decent intelligence. Still, I think I'll go with your advice. I'll make the changes for You're My Fairy, too.

As for the other Companion options, I'm sorry about that - I'm sometimes not a good judge on what's a good price for things. If I cut each of those down by half, would that work, or should I just take 100 CP off each instead?

Starstuff- Okay, I'll modify that.

Kiss- No, it remains intact, but can't be used again until 24 hours have passed.

Again, thanks for the feedback; I really appreciate the help.

So you're claiming that D&D Wizards and Sorcerers can't learn spells?

Actually, I don't care. If that's how your jumpchain works for you, then your jumpchan is a dick, and sucks for you. If it's not, then it's not. I have an exam that I need to study for, so I really don't have the effort to spare over this. If there's any questions that don't involve me trying to rule in how other people run their own chains, then I'm willing to try and answer those, but how people do their own chains isn't my concern in the slightest.

How hard would it be to enslave a god for magic?
>>
>>54027036
Please don't change things until he gives a reason. You have good pricing as is.
>>
>>54026766

Huh. That raises a good point. Although i figured it was talking about people with the talent for several types of magic and wether they could then explore multiple gifts.

For reference, the quote I was thinking about was from 2-9:

>The thing about enchanter wands is…well, either you can, or you can’t. It depends on whether a person has any magical potential at all, any gift at using the arcane

Which to me implies it's more of a test for general arcane aptitude than enchanting in particular.

There are other scenes supporting this (which I could find if you want?). Another one that springs to mind has Joe has one of his travelling buddies discovering they have a gift for magic and deciding that they won't go off to be a wizard (implying that the 'gift' is for arcane magic in general, not its subdiscipline of enchanting).

Then there's various talk about how Drow don't often become wizards due to a genetic quirk. Which seems to me like it falls in line with my understanding of magic being a "have it or you don't' thing.

Admittedly most of my knowledge of the meta of the magic system (infinite order and all that) comes from your jump document, seeing as I'm still reading the story.

>>54026806
Don't worry, I don't think you did, really . I mentioned Divine magic more as an example of being a 'got it or you don't' thing. With Dwarves having the ability to access the pure source as a genetic quirk, and most everyone not having that inborn ability (except for that one human student at the University).

I guess I should ask though, if we purchase the divine magic perk, can we choose to be an exception to the rule like what's-her-name (the human divine magic user who doesn't need a God to utilise it)?

Thinking about it, maybe it's just because I'm attracted to women, but I think the female body is more aesthetic and comfy-looking in general than a male body.

It's smaller, lighter, no dangly bits you have to shift around, cleaner lines, etc.

I imagine that if I pick up a shapeshifting or sex-swapping perk, I'll use my male form for working/fighting and shift into a female form in my off-time.

It's not degenerate, it's just one of those odd things that an older Jumper will eventually have to think about.

With purely in-jump abilities? Very. With out-of-jump abilities? You need to beat up people who clark-teched into creating about 20 magic systems, interacting with souls, created their own heaven and hell dimensions, wrapped their universe in some sort of all-dissolving chaos, and can tie their existences to concepts. Through sheer clarktech. If you can do that though, you're good.

>>54027079
Honestly, again, the fact that I haven't read the earlier chapters in a while is coming back to bite me, but given that info, I'd guess it's that if you have the talent for any type of magic, you can learn all the types? Or something like that? I dunno, I'll have to reread it to try and figure that out, and the webnovel's really long. Also, I have exams coming up (summer classes was a dumb idea.)

>Divine magic perk
Yeah, you can do that if you'd like! I tried to make the perk descriptions for the magic as background agnostic as I could, so you can claim any "source" that you could normally.

See, the way I look at it you do gots two bigger, very prominent and very easy to puncture dangly bits unless you're flatchested. There's also having to sit down to pee and periods; I mean you could just magic those away for convenience's sake but by the same token nothing's stopping you from wearing a portal groin cup or something.

If you straight up rebel and tell everybody-nobody will like it. The Bronze and Gold factions are already taxed scheming against each other, so the senior Sidereals aren't very patient with upstarts toeing the line. Expect frequent runs of bad luck, and operatives coming to get you when you literally least expect it.

Just realised I should maybe clarify my question. Although I think it may have been answered with:

>But if you're a race that has inbuilt access to a certain magic type, like elves being capable of arcane magic, then you're capable of it

So basically my understanding of the jump at the moment is that if you choose a race that has the capability of using a magic, then you automatically have that capability (answering my original Dragon question). If you want training, get the perk. Easy.

Then, if you choose a race that may or may not have a magic system (like humans with any system), then you'll want to buy the perk to make sure everythings okay and ensure you can use the magic (with training thrown in as a cherry on top). Same thing if you're a race that ordinaryily can't use a certain magic (say, demons + divine magic).

Is this all on target-ish?

Thanks for the jump/your time, btw. And good luck with your exam.

I got force powers for free from KotOR, where I was a Gray Jedi, but never bought any actual powers.
I mean, looking over my build there... I REALLY never bought any powers. I've just got that Persuasion freebie and everything else is, like, technical know-how.

I was never really enthused with either side, and I was never really into the idea of training, but I like collecting knowledge. So, probably, my force ability is probably really high on theoretical knowledge and really low on practical application.

It made it fun, when I kept taking timeline continuation options, because I ended up being one of the oldest force users in the galaxy, a minor legend in the right circles, who would happily tell any hopeful young padawan that they could all go fuck themselves and their religion was a lie.
Well, not fun in practice, but later it became a fun story to tell.

Some might think you're making a poor decision, but it's not like they're going to bully you. There's only 100 of you, and it's the only Exalt type with actual Perfect Reincarnation and full access to all of their Past Lives. You're all basicly one big dysfunctional family; especially with Arcane Fate screwing with you all

You'll mostly be left to your own devices; though your Sifu and friends will still drop by every once in a while to check up on you, while trying to nudge you back to Heaven. That said if you're ever in over your head they'll have your back, and they'll be sure to warn you if you're dicking with things too much or messing with a really important destiny.

Some might even ask you to lend a hand as "an external advisor" or "freelance agent" if they think an ongoing case or mission might interest you, or greatly benefit from your help.

Other than that, so long as you don't go around actively messing with Heaven and Fate; you'll be fine

Thanks, you're right. I appreciate his advice, but I'm not going to do everything his way.

Though I have added in the pet detail, I'm going to keep the companion prices as they are right now, as I'm pretty happy for them. Fairy, for instance - I think the pricing was good since, even though you got 400 CP instead of 500, you got a talent for free, so I think it's a fair trade.

I'm going to give a discount for Dreams of Neverland when taken with Forever Neverland, but since I didn't want that perk to be too cheap, I'm upping the overall price to 800 CP.

And since Starstuff is pretty potent, and very difficult to obtain in the main setting otherwise, I think that I'll keep it at 700 CP.

Do you think Mother Knows Best is the better 100 CP perk compared with Mixed Identity, though? I kind of felt that Mixed Identity wasn't as strong as Mother Knows Best, so I'm not sure what to think on that matter.

>>
>>54027403
– Reactor (200CP, discount Cuotl)
This small building is linked to your Warehouse, and can be used to transfer energy across vast distances. The reactor allows you to wirelessly connect any of your energy sources and energy using equipment, with at most a few small modifications necessary to convert the type of power to one appropriate for the item in question. The reactor can handle a seemingly unlimited number of power sources and drains, but it provides only a small supply of energy
on its own.

From the Rise of Legends jump. You could do those 'small modifications' to your kinetic energy source and viola!

So I want to ask, which of the following should be 100 CP, and the other 200 CP?

Mother Knows Best- Mothers are highly treasured on the island, and you bring with you the talent of a (childish) mother. You are skilled in multitasking, and can cook, clean, and look after a large number of children effortlessly. You also become a skilled storyteller – at least one for children’s tales – and can easily recall classic tales or invent your own; you can even take existing stories and give your own unique flair to them, such that Cinderella fights off pirates with a revolver, while retaining the wonder of the original. Moreover, it gives you an aura of respectful motherhood that makes anyone with the form of a child (even beings that are actually much older) much more likely to behave like a child and follow your instructions when you are present, with your control increasing the more you act like their mother. You can even have an effect on people with an older physical form, assuming that they have a deep longing for a mother.

Mixed Identity- In the classic approach to the play, the eternal boy Peter Pan is played by a girl, and a single actor plays both Mr. Darling and Captain Hook. At the bare minimum, this perk allows you to easily assume two separate identities that only require you to change your overall attire – your physical appearance can remain unchanged, and people will have trouble telling the difference; however, if you don’t make your clothes and overall behavior distinct for each persona, people might start to connect the dots. However, the perk also allows you to change your gender – and more than that, make people believe that you are the opposite gender of whatever gender you really are. You could be a woman, even one that stands out with big breasts or other indicators, and as long as you choose to have this part of the perk active, people will be convinced that you are in fact a man – or vice versa.
>>
What's the best way to determine whether it's feasible to survive with your perk/drawback combinations? How do you do this if you don't know much about the setting in question?

What methods are there besides rolling? Mainly because I don't want to restart the chain because of a bad roll, I'd rather rework my build into something more survivable.

Not that guy, but 400 for Tiger Lily, who is a skilled but otherwise totally mundane warrior, doesn't measure up to an admiral who is also a skilled warrior plus gets a ship and crew as followers, a giant monster who can raise the dead, or six magic mermaids, and is way weaker than the crocodile who can perfectly track people it bites and who is immune to time manipulation and can merge with you.

Also Tinkerbell is weaker than My Own Fairy. Both get a free talent, but My Own Fairy gets 300CP on top of that.

Good point. Tiger Lily and Tinkerbell are both key characters in the story - and some of my favorites - so I thought they should have a higher price. Since they are canon characters, though, and not ones you're making with a normal companion purchase option, I didn't think of giving them anything else.

Do you have any ideas on how I could give Tiger Lily and Tinkerbell more power to fit the price while staying reasonable? One thing I just thought of was that, seeing as Tiger Lily is the Princess, she would insist on taking, if not her whole tribe, her loyal cadre of warriors, with the possibility of naturally recruiting more (if they fulfill the "noble savage" requirement) in following jumps. Not sure what to do for Tink, though.
>>

> taking ideas on giving Chara a physical body
All you need is a way to move souls into a body that it can control. SOULs are a bit different than souls, but that's mainly in terms of things SOULs can do that souls can't. In terms of things that souls can do, I'm pretty sure SOULs can also do the same.
So, on that note, you could for instance grab Throne of the Soul from Tales of Symphonia, and that would probably enable you to move Chara's SOUL over to a robot or empty clone body or something and give them control over it. Pretty simple.

Your biggest problem is actually finding Chara, since by all appearances they don't have any real Determination left, and their SOUL appears to be invisible or inaccessible in normal circumstances. Chara says in the game itself that they had basically fallen asleep and only woke up when they found they were piggybacking off of your own SOUL and Determination, being unable to manifest on their own, and didn't even know what was going on at first until they finally realized you were killing everything.
So, for that matter, unless you go full Genocide, Chara might not even have god of murder powers (although, it's likely possible they could still gain EXP).
But they would probably appreciate having a body again regardless.

>>54027641

>Your biggest problem is actually finding Chara

Yeah I came to the same conclusion. Maybe that one perk from the Princess Bride would help in this case, but I'm thinking that since Chara technically doesn't have a face now, it might have to be a little more creative and esoteric. Maybe summoning and killing some minions over and over would help.

>So, for that matter, unless you go full Genocide, Chara might not even have god of murder powers

That's alright, mostly I just think they're cute as a button and could use a good murderdad to help guide them.

The Merlin jump works for that, actually. See, in Merlin, Arthur was never supposed to have been born. His birth happened due to Nimueh using magic to help Uther's wife get pregnant, at his request. However, magic in Merlin has certain rules, and one of them is that in order for one life to be created, another must be taken. So, Arthur was born, but his mother died in the process. Uther, in a fit of grief and rage, blamed magic as a whole, outlawed it, and ordered the execution of anyone practising it. Nimueh was banished, and she swore revenge.

This is some asshole who just doesn't like my posts.

>Flying (Free All)
The reason was explicitly given, but ignoring that makes for better shitposting.

>Starstuff (700 CP)
The drop to 600 CP is to fit it into standardized pricing tiers. I reluctant to have anything over 600 CP without good reason.
The addition to the first line is to avoid having a 600 CP consumable
Asking about the Kiss was also worry about a consumable CP Item.

>Companions
Pets thing is because merely sentient pets (as opposed to sentient & sapient) being able to come along without taking a companion slot is from way back in the Warehouse supplement. This is to avoid presenting them in a way that has them take a companion slot by calling them companions.

The letting existing pets be imported is just a nice thing to do for pet owners, many of CCDT's pets have the option, for example.

>Companion Costs.
You want to have the various companions costs based on their power. A good way to do this is look at the import option, which is 50 or 100 CP to give a companion 500 CP.

the "You’re My Fairy" is an OC Fairy, that costs twice as much as a companion imported as a fairy, and gets less CP. It is objectively to expensive, because it is inferior to an imported fairy.

Normally OC companions like that should not be more worse than the import option, because they have the build in drawback that as this is their 1st jump, they
won't have any powers from previous jumps. Which is why many use the same companion option for both by using the phrase "you may import an old or gain a new companion for 100 CP, or for 200 CP may import or gain up to 4" or something like that.
>>
Do any jumps give a warehouse attachment that is both inside and outside the warehouse?
>>
>>54027156
>>54028005
Canon companions can cost more, but that should be based on their power, not just their canon status. Tinker Bell is canon for example, but how is she actually better then a OC Fair? It you can't say what unique abilities, or items she comes with others faeries don't, then she should cost be priced equivalently as an OC fairy. There is already the presumption with most canon companions that they don't get CP in the jump you recruit them, just their canon abilities.

What I am saying is for example, Tinkerbell is 500 CP, a imported Faerie companion is the standard 50 or 100 CP. 500 - 100 = 400 CP. In accountable, intangible things that add value are normally accounted for as 'goodwill' Do you think the difference between having a Fairy companion, and having 'Tinker Bell' _specifically_ as a fairy companion is worth a 400 CP surcharge. That is my thinking. Same applies to Tiger-Lify vs generic Native, etc.

>Dreams of Neverland
The discount was to keep Drop-Ins who had previously takes it from having to remove stuff from their build. And because It is only useful in later jumps, and frankly, 600 (or 800) is a bit much for a imaginary dream realm.

And this is why I called the above shit posts. some crapping out a one line 'fuck that guy' makes me spend two posts defending myself. Yay. Is there anything else I can clarify to you about my reasoning for the changes I suggested?
>>
>>54027706
I could say that the tribal warriors accompanying/recruited by her are essentially "her" companions - meaning that they only appear when she herself is present, and they do not get any companion benefits (they don't get CP for purchases, and perks that Tiger Lily buys in jumps are not shared with them). I could also say that the tribe following her caps as 15-25 people, with Tiger Lily starting out with 6.

As for Tinkerbell, I did think of one possibility, focusing on how she tends to save Peter's life in the different stories. I'd say that she is able to discover looming threats to you (the jumper), and that she can save you from an imminent, lethal danger, but doing so puts her life in significant jeopardy.
>>
>>54027654
>>54027914
>Yeah. No making companion options please.
You were not talking about that at all, but I disagree with this guy. OC companions are fine. Just create them the same way you would an imported companion, except they aren't imported, but a new companion.

Giving some CP to a Companion if they decide to join is ok. Some other jumps do it. Don't know how it would be easy to abuse.

>>
>>54028005
>>54028014
Okay, that helps clarify things. Thank you for explaining.

You might have a point about Dreams of Neverland. The only thing is, since you are getting the discount by taking Forever Neverland, which lets you take as many drawbacks as you want, you're already getting a pretty good deal, so I thought 600 with discount was a little cheap.

Hearing you and others' arguments, I see what you mean with Tiger Lily and Tinkerbell's CP prices. I'm working on those right now to make them worth those levels. I'm not sure why you wanted to cut down the others you listed, though (Navy, NeverBeast, Crocodile), nor what price you thought was suitable for them.

And thanks for explaining your issue with You're My Fairy; that makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for bringing up the pet idea. Since most of the companions counting as pets are specific characters, though, I'm just giving the import existing pet option to the Dream Pet companion.

There's a lot of extreme similarities, yeah. His "inspiration" seems to be stealing from other jumps or from other splats.
>>
>>54028316
GENERIC EXALTED
Abundant Essence [400] You've got Essence. Lots of it. Way more than you should in fact, about five times more. This counts both towards your personal essence pool (the stuff you can use without glowing) and your peripheral essence pool (the stuff that does make you glow when you use it). You also regenerate your pools of essence at roughly five times the normal rate, allowing you to make use of this expanded pool of energy without needing to worry about lengthy recovery times. If others learn of the sheer amount of essence at your command you will likely be viewed as an extreme oddity at best, and might be targeted by those that suspect you are something other than you seem.

EXIGENTS
Essence Plethora Soul [400]
You've got Essence. Lots of it. Way more than you should in fact, about five times more. Youalso regenerate your pools of essence at roughly five times the normal rate, allowing you tomake use of this expanded pool of energy without needing to worry about lengthy recoverytimes. This perk extends to similar pools of energy as well, making any energy drawn from theworld to pool within the soul much more robust in recovery rate and storage capacity.

Let's all mock the plagiarist, lets' all mock the plagiarist. Dirty dirty thief he is.
>>
>>54028316
This is a bad idea. You're making a jump for a splat we have almost no information about, in a new version of the setting that we have no information about. I can't see this having any unique character to it, because what could you possibly base it on?
>>
>>54028316
>>54028361
Jesus christ this guy has to be trolling. You can't be actually stealing stuff from other jumps.
>>
>>54028126
>I'm not sure why you wanted to cut down the others you listed, though (Navy, NeverBeast, Crocodile), nor what price you thought was suitable for them.

The navy was Sweets? I the crew thing was in jump only, but he was the only one who came along as companion? If it's him and his task force that is fair. I did nit say anything about the mermaids because they were a group.

But you might specify about that (Sweets and his men being one companion, the Mermaid being a single slot, etc.)

, If a OC companion is 50 to 100, I'd make a comparable regular companion the same or 100 to 200.

The croc is physically a animal, so nit much for that. The inevitability it time and spirit merging thing makes a cross between a animal and a power, but not a 500 CP power. That sounds like a 300 CP thing it's not discounted.

The Guardian only has mention of the 4 seasonal towers things as it's only power, so I'd make it 100 or 200, unless there is something else about it I'm missing?

>The only thing is, since you are getting the discount by taking Forever Neverland, which lets you take as many drawbacks as you want, you're already getting a pretty good deal
I'm going to disagree with this on principle. Drawbacks are still drawbacks, and the thing that uncaps them is also gets more power from them, and makes some of them more perilous.
>>
>>54028371
It might also be Brellin trying to sneak Generic Exalted onto the drive. Lord knows the SBers have pulled some shady shit like that before.
>>
>>54028325
Where did I crib from other Exalts? I mean I'm leaning heavily on spirit stuff but where with others?

>>54028361
Essence Plethora is literally a Charm for spirits and five is the number used in the calculation for Essence pools and regeneration for Third Edition.

>>54028362
I mean I guess I could just make a Solars, since the big sticking point has been the fact that Exigents aren't out yet, but I don't wanna step on anyone's toes. Ah hell, okay I'll give up the claim until the Exigents get their Splat.
>>
>>54028412
>He says missing that most of the perk is copied word for word
Dirty little plagiarist. Shoo shoo
>>
>>54028412
And sanity prevails.

In the future anon, people don't look kindly when you copy things from other jumps. This isn't about having the same effect. Plenty of jumps do that. It's about the fact you stole almost verbatim the description from another jump. Even if it's an SB one, it shows something about you that's not good at all. If you can't do your own work, how can anyone trust that you're doing your own work with the rest of this or that you're going to do it well?
>>
>>54028386
I see what you mean. I'll make it more specific that Scissor/sailors and the mermaid sisters each count as single slots.

Actually, cutting down the NeverBeat to 200 CP makes things easier for me; I wanted the Crocodile to be priced higher than the NeverBeast since I liked it more, so now I can move it down to 300 CP.

And I get your point regarding Forever Neverland.

Thanks for the help.

This WAAAGH was to the point where from this giant boy's existence, the orks that joined him actually evolved and grew more intelligent to the point that the several planets and systems they controlled were growing into a civilization that rivaled the Imperium at it's highest point. Teleporting moons were among their better creations, and they nearly fucked Terra HARD.

What's worse is they were actually getting CULTURED. The orkish envoy sent to meet with the High Lords of Terra? Knew perfect gothic, and was hella eloquent.

Also The Beast himself was big enough that everybody thought he was a fucking statue until he started moving. And there were actually SIX of them, with one standing larger than the others, and all six of them were perfectly fucking coordinated.

They may not have points to spend, but Spiral Energy is the real prize, wouldn't you say?

So maybe I didn't understand what people might have needed. Then again, I'm not so sure I would have been overly concerned - if I'd done the usual "Jumper comes in with all of his powers and fixes everything forever" thing, there are people that wouldn't have reached their potential because they were overshadowed. I played a part, certainly, but I ended up one of the casualties of the war.

And yet, while things were being put back right, there were sightings of me around the world, fighting the shrinking quantity of injustices. The main cast never saw me again, but perhaps it was enough to believe that I was out there still.

On an unrelated note... near the end of this jump, thanks to studying spiral energy and with my knowledge of the Kaleidoscope... the Elsewhere Coil installed between Sajuuk's three cores was brought to its full function. I now have a forty kilometer long starship with a fleet around it that can slip between universes.

> Tell me of the time, Travelers you faced execution and almost certain death at the hands of your enemies...
I took the Dovahkiin scenario in Skyrim, so I got to go through the whole intro, where I was an Alfiq.
You probably don't get why this is hilarious, so I will elaborate.

An Alfiq is a type of Khajiit. Khajiits' forms actually vary wildly based on what phase of the moon they're born under, and an Alfiq just happens to look like a normal housecat.
So I was a tiny housecat barely up to a Nord's shin, with a manacle around my neck and given equal gravitas as the freaking Stormcloak leader, Ulfric, as I and the other prisoners were lead to our formal execution.

> "Name?"
> "Meow."
> "I-- wait. What?"

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, from the guards to the townspeople, kept looking around like this was some kind of prank, because nobody could remember why they had seen fit to capture a housecat for formal execution.

> "Well, it was with the Stormcloaks. It's a Stormcloak cat."
> "Are we just executing all the animals of the forest now?"
> "I didn't decide to do this!"
> "Then who did?!"
> "Meow."
> "SHUT UP, CAT."

So nobody knows what to do, but they power on through the execution anyway because, god damn, nobody's willing to admit this is stupid and risk looking stupid.
So they finally lead me up to the chopping block, and some guy actually has to hold me because I'm too small to get my head on the block...

... and then the fucking dragon attacks!
>>
>>54029225
That symbolism is only applied to hermaphrodites, he's talking about men becoming women, not becoming intersexed abominations.

Yes. Solars are actually the best out of combat, the reason they were the god-kings of the First Age instead of the other Exalted types is because they exceed at social, organizational, and academic pursuits. And everything else, too. Their theme is "perfection", if there's something that can be seen as a supernatural exaggeration of human capabilities, they can do it.

>>
>>54029365
Yeah, people are free to fanwank whatever the hell they want for the most part as far as how the races look for the most part. You could even change around the strengthes/weaknesses if you wanted, so long as they're still balanced against each other.

For example being a fire slime with weakness to ice (like Gurren the lava slime from the 7th floor) if you didn't want to be a regular slime. As always the maxim "be reasonable" applies.

Or don't be reasonable, single player game and all that.

Eh, not him, but you can't get rid of any umps from our drive. With the exception of Hellblazer, but we already have a jump that fills the same niche in its setting, so...

Have you considered that your caustic ass could in fact be the thing that drives people away? Of course you have, your salty heart knows no joy but that which comes from inducing anger and sadness in others.

I pity you, waste of flesh. That you may never know happiness without it being at the detriment of another. You have no friends. No life. No future. Go out there, salty creature. Find your heart again and learn to be human, not this homunculus sitting in the dank depths of your progenitors dwelling. LIVE. Get a LIFE.

What kind of stuff can a Spiritualist get spirits to do for them? If they awaken the sprits of furniture will the animate and attack the Spiritualists foes, or just fall over and shift around a bit to be in their way?

If you awaken the ground a battle is being fought on will it act like a powerful earth bender is on your side, forming walls to protect you and your allies and ditches and quicksand to hinder foes, or will they trip in unseen holes while your side simply don't?
>>
>>54027854
Wait, we got a solars jump? When!?
>>
>>54029563
Fanwank whatever sounds reasonable to you honestly. My general idea when describing the spiritualist class was someone that could beckon spirits and whatnot and have them do stuff for them, so what a given spirit can do I feel would probably depend on how powerful the spirit is that you call on/call up (ie: how high level a spiritualist spell you cast).

A 9th tier spell for example is obviously going to have a significantly greater effect than a 5th tier spell, even if they effecting/animating the same thing. For the really large scale stuff though you're going to be looking at 9th and 10th tier spells, stuff like Genus Loci or stuff of that nature.

Anyways I'm gonna bounce out, having too much fun watching best of the worst on redlettermedia, so later peoples.
>>
>>54029452
>You have to recast it after using it, but it can be a good ace in the hole.
Wait so all it does is prepare a spell beforehand, doesn't bind it permanently to the keyblade with a cooldown or something, all it does is prepare a certain spell, isn't the heartless variant of this like infinitely better?
The only good use of this I could think of is precasting a spell that consumes all your MP beforehand so you'll still have MP and can cast that certain spell but it's already limited with a strict power limit so it seems very niche and not worth it.
Only use I could see for it is stacking three curagas before a battle.
>>
>>54029612
That's pretty much it. It's something that could be real useful if this is an early jump, backup healing spells being very good as you said, but not as useful for mid-late jumpers. Still, if you have a way to refill all your mana *cough*ether*cough* you could cast something big right before a fight and then top back up. It is a bit niche, but can still be very useful.

Not that long ago. Wukong and Heavens worked on it, but the first draft wasn't well recieved. Something about some of the perks being too much like what Solars could do already. Heavens has been revising it and provided a newer version recently but is still working on it. It's shaping up to be pretty good I think.

Here's a copy for you.
>>
>>54029693
>Something about some of the perks being too much like what Solars could do already
This seems like bullshit when one of the biggest complaints against jumps is that they include non-canon options. If it's a Solars jump then why should there be complaints if it makes you a Solar?
>>
>>54029738
Because there's no point spending CP on things you can already do with your exaltation alone?
>>
>>54029738
It wouldn't be a problem if the jump didn't give you a fucking Exaltation for free. But as it was, a lot of the perks were just innate parts of being a Solar or something that could be achieved fairly easily by even newbie Solars.

So about the KH jump, is the perk the only way to get darkness powers, can I potentially gain them in-jump by being Ansem's bitch like Riku did?
>>
>>54029748
>>54029763
That just sounds like it doesn't need perks then.
>>

Tbh the real advantage is you presumably don't have to spend Essence on the perks-and since mote economy's everything that's a major force multiplier when you don't need to dedicate Charms do be an awesome warrior or invent new Charms to attune to Soulsteel or whatever.

>>54029738
I've noticed noncanon tends to get a better pass when it's thematic; 3 out of the 5 Lunar capstone boosts are based off things Luna can do, not Lunars. Not that I mind, though; when your splat is supposed to be unique, it stands to reason the exceptions among the exceptions could have some weird tricks up their sleeve
>>
>>54029809
So, what, should it have been an item-only jump?
>>
>>54029830
No, anon is being a dingus
>>
>>54029802
You generally need perks for fiat-backing so stuff works in other universes.
Since the darkness powers are a supernatual ability that works because of KH metaphysics you could get it in-jump but it presumably wouldn't work in other jumps.

>>54029819
>Tbh the real advantage is you presumably don't have to spend Essence on the perks
That works for some of them, but not all.
Note that a lot of the criticism has already been adressed in the latest update. The jump is looking pretty good by now imo.
>>
>>54029884
>You generally need perks for fiat-backing so stuff works in other universes.
Here he goes again
>>
>>54029802
You can try, but if it works (up to you really) then you've given yourself up to Ansem and aren't really yourself anymore, which might be problematic.

I'm not going to say no, but you're probably better off getting it through some power stealing method, that way you don't run the risk of it not carrying over if Ansem gets left behind (and if you pod the voice in your head he may stop being in your head so you don't get the power of him possessing you and...)

Look, it's probably more trouble than it's worth going that way. Just find some power stealing perk or something.

Just a note, the perk is better than what Riku got, but presumably Ansem himself could have done better had he not decided to go all organic battleship at the end there. He did some fancy stuff in his other fight, if I recall correctly.
>>
>>54029884
>You generally need

I'm going out on a limb and assume you're not the fiatbacking shitposter, and summarise my rebuttal to that:

That depends on the exact kind of stuff, and some of said stuff doesn't have a clear answer in fiction so inevitably individual interpretation comes into play-which you have no say over.

Also known as fanwanking. You know, that thing the guy who started this CYOA strongly advocated.
>>
On the topic of being possessed by Ansem could you use the memory erasing gun from Gravity Falls on Riku to kill Ansem like how Bill got fucked by it?
>>
>>54029931
Obviously, which is why i used the words "generally" and "presumably".

Personally i rule it that anything explicitly supernatural requires fiat backing, be it from a perk or just as a general part of your jump nature, like for example being a Harry Potter wizard.
Every wizard has magic, so it works in other jumps. But not every KH citizen has darkness powers, so you need the perk to keep them.

The same applies to "soft physics" tech, or tech that requires unique physical laws to work that only appear in its canon universe.

Of course this is, as you said, basically fanwanking.
But that's how it makes sense to me, otherwise why take anything but learning perks and spend the rest of your CP on items?
>>
>>54029986
>Every wizard has magic, so it works in other jumps. But not every KH citizen has darkness powers, so you need the perk to keep them.
Wrong in setting, every KH citizen has the potential for darkness and darkness powers, everyone has Darkness in their hearts in KH-world.
As long as the jumper has a KH-Heart(which they can pay to keep post jump) they should be able to tap into light and darkness.
>>
>>54029986
Fair enough, and I'm sorry to have mistaken you for him.

>>54029962
Looking this guy up, he seems to naturally be a spirit thing rather than the mind of an eldritch abomination. So I'd give better odds to that quantum disintegrator gun thing Ford almost shot Bill with.
>>
>>54030009
That's not what "A Heart to Call My Own" does. It just lets you give souls to things post-jump.
But if that's how you want to interpret it for your chain i'm not going to argue about it.

I'm just offering my interpretation, not telling people how to run their chains.
>>
>>54029962
I... don't... think... so?

Just because I'm pretty sure Ansem took over Riku's heart, which is different from his mind, albeit linked to it. It was more like a full body-jacking, where the real Riku was suppressed, as opposed to taking over his brain.
Although if what I'm saying is true, you COULD use the memory erasing gun to turn Ansem into a total amnesiac. Probably. Although it's also possible you might amnesia blast Riku at the same time.

I don't know, Kingdom Hearts is pretty weird about this kind of thing.
>>
>>54029962
I think that'd just leave you with Riku possessed by amnesiac Ansem.
Which is an improvement, but probably not what you're going for.

You'd be better off with anti-possession stuff. Light My Way could work, but there's options from other jumps that are more explicitly suited for it like the Purification Blast from Generic Magical Girl.
>>
>>54030042
This isn't really an argument for or against, but I always sortof considered it that other anon's way, but ALSO keyed into the setting's metaphysics?

Like... hearts are different from souls. Even in the series itself, they're differentiated, although nobody ever really goes on at length about what a soul does, they ARE separate. It's just that hearts in KH do a lot of the same things souls do in other settings.
But also, the whole setting is mired in metaphysics surrounding light and darkness. They pretty much make up all existence, and permeate everything to a greater or lesser extent.

So, personally, I think you COULD tap into Light and Darkness with a KH Heart? But, at the same time, I kindof think it would be at reduced power to what might be capable in the Kingdom Hearts universe. How much reduced power? I dunno, it would depend on how strong your heart is, which would be synonymous with "how strong your soul is" for soul-based powers, except getting soul upgrades doesn't upgrade your heart. You would need heart upgrades.
So potentially you could have a really powerful heart! But that's still not quite the same as being in a universe where every-fucking-thing keys to heart power, you know?

... does that make sense?

Well, that's just my interpretation, anyway.

So quick Exalted question.

What would happen if someone had the Contagion of Law but wasn't a Solar?

The Contagion of Law is an orichalcum crown engraved with the skyline of a First Age city. Just above the bearer’s forehead rests a single diamond, the edges of which are laced with green jade. Anyone wearing the crown who has placed in it a commitment of six motes gains an aura of ultimate authority, increasing his Appearance rating by one. In addition, he can activate the crown’s true ability.

By spending 10 motes and a temporary Willpower point and touching a single person, the Exalt can inflict a plague of belief upon a nation. The initial victim is subject to a contagious Intimacy, treated as a Virulence 6 disease. The character’s Dodge MDV resists the disease, rather than a typical Resistance roll. In addition, a character may spend four Willpower points immediately upon contact to avoid contracting the Intimacy. If the contagious Intimacy directly contradicts a previously existing Intimacy, the older Intimacy is completely overridden. An affected individual is considered infected until he loses
the Intimacy, which can be removed through social combat as a normal Intimacy. Since the “contagion” is not a true disease, Medicine Charms that target diseases are useless against it. As long as a character possesses the contagious Intimacy, he can spread it through touch. The disease easily remains in social circulation, as “cured” individuals can re-infect each other. The crown takes its name from the Zenith Caste Solar, Granite Archetype, who used it in the First Age to instill a great reverence for the law in his people.
>>
Does the 50 CP F.R.I.E.N.D.S option for generic sitcoms which allows you to import up to 8 current companions or a canon character allow up to eight canon characters or do I have to buy it once per canon character?

As you say, it's just knowledge that could be gained in setting. And it costs 800 cp, and you would need to be an Exalt, probably a Solar which already costs 600 CP to hope to make some progress on starting your own production of Alchemicals in-jump. That's not accounting for materials or how you are hoping to dedicate yourself entirely on that without facing several enemies.

You could also get the Drop-In perk to speed up the process, and that perk that gets you materials, so maybe you can get your own factory of Alchemicals by the end of the Jump for 2400 CP.

Meaning that you need to take the powerless drawback and have a lot of more powerful than you beings haunting you if you want to take the route.

It's not gamebreaker in-setting at all.
>>

>>
>>54031493
Yeah, reading the options in each jump, I'm not seeing the difference. The Alchemical one still needs an entire lifetime, of an Exalt no less, just to decipher and then massive resources, infrastructure and other materials. And while it has some imrpovements, it also harshly restricts it to just Alchemicals, you can't use the knowledge to build anything else or use exaltations for anything else. The Solars one seems to be a similar case, where you get the knowledge but you still need lots of stuff. No need to study for a lifetime for the knowledge and no limits on what you use the stuff for.

It feels kind of hypocritical if I'm honest.

But the only wands I can think of are those from HP and Sword&Sorcery, which aren't too special... I guess you could set the Eye of Set on a bit of wood and have a better wand, but I'm not sure that counts.

It was in the Original Trilogy and I was already the puppet king of one twi'lek planet due to my background.

Perhaps it was the drinking or the Sith background memories but I decided to vaguely help the rebellion while actually using the whole thing as a cover to "liberate" Ryloth from the Empire to my much more enjoyable regime.

A series of raids on slavers to collect more twi'leks and a few chopped up Hutt crimelords later and I'm something of a folk hero. I then named myself king of all twi'leks and the twi'leks (as usual) didn't really seem to mind.

My only apprentice in any of the Star Wars jumps was a companion of assured loyalty. Picked her up in Overlord (the games) so she's probably more evil than I generally am.

She's also been in the ywi'lek game longer than I have as she was made one in KotOR.

I don't think that was me. Or at least I don't remember starting or suggesting that.

It's an emerald you can buy in Sword & Sorcery, really powerful magic focus. Perfect channel for any magic, and boosts it tenfold.

How would I go about combining this with Save The Queen+?

There a big empty space in the middle, just jam it in there?

Or import them somewhere like MCU 2's Relic customization to fuse them.

Or use Sburb alchemy.
>>
/jc/, what are some good ways(/good settings) to make something magic proof and/or magically unbreakable either permanently or at least relatively long term.

I know Harry Potter has an unbreakable charm, and presumably you could apply that or something similar with runes to get a permanent effect, but I'm looking for more and hopefully more reliable ways to do it.

I got inspired by the episode of Ben 10 where Kevin and Rook make Kevin's car immune to everything except magic, and now want to be able to apply magic protection to all my vehicles and power armors.

Note that I don't need them to protect the driver/passengers/operator from magic, just the vehicle itself.
>>
>>54032530
That's Fanon there, mate
Runes are just dead languages that aren't too useful to anyone besides Historians and academics.
>>
>>54032548
Then what's the point of the class on them? That would make it the only elective without some form of practical application. And IIRC (which I admit I might not) Dumbledore's penseive had runes etched on it, so were they just decoration and not a part of its function then?

And how are permanent enchantments and wards (which are a thing in setting) placed?

Import it as your Device in Lyrical Nanoha.
The Eye of Set as Standby Form, God Save the Queen+ as Active Form.
The Befriend everything.
>>
>>54032623
Wards, as we understand them, are just charms that stick in place. The anti-apparition jinx is just that. A jinx one casts with their wands to stop apparition.
To make something practically unbreakable, you'll probably want to give it the Horcrux treatment. I don't know how to make one, but it likely takes a lot of work to make an object near immune to physical changes.
Most spells are permanent in the books, and last even after the caster has died. Fanon and the films added expiry times to spells.
>>
>>54032530
if you yourself have magic resistance/immunity (for example in the ben10 jump there's a race option immune to it) you could use something like amazos backup memory + starro tech notes from the young justice jump to create machines with the same ability/resistance/immunity. As long as your item is some part machine/computer (something like the green lantern ring could be augmented that way for example) it should be fine
>>
>>54032692
Really, most things are permanent normally?

I can't recall the books ever saying either way, but how does Rowling explain poor wizards like the Weasleys then, none of them are any good at transfiguration? You'd think a wizard could just transfigure themselves some nice things if they didn't have to worry about it wearing off.

Though I do admit that this seems like the type of plot hole Rowling consistently makes, so it's not really a surprise.

I loved Harry Potter as a child, and I'm very thankful to Ms Rowling for giving us the series. However she's not a world builder. She focuses on what Farmerbob would call "commercial fiction". The reason the Weasley family is poor is because their impoverishment serves to produce those characters and shape their interpersonal relationships. I doubt Ms Rowling felt the need to build a Wizarding economy or consider the effects of magic on lifestyles and living standards. She just wanted to create a interesting family that are distinct from the societal elites and possess a rustic aesthetic.

>and wards (which are a thing in setting)
Other than the poorly explained blood wards they don't exist.

Its hilarious how so much fanfiction has Hogwarts have super powerful wards that if actually existed would have made the battle at the end of book 7 impossible. Book 7 has Hogwarts get damaged while fanfiction would have had it shrug off every attack.

the goblin bankers, to whom the weasley family owns a large sum of gold, constantly makes visits and takes away anything nice they have, so there's really no point in improving their livestyle by magic. And one wizard law states that you can't just conjure up magic.

>last even after the caster has died

Actually one of the ways Harry knows Dumbledore is dead is due to the full body bind Dumbledore put on Harry wearing off.

The whole thing about invisibility cloaks is that every one other than Harry's stop working over time as well which implies that regarding enchanting items at least it depends on the power of the charm put on it and possibly the substance being charmed in the first place (as there are various sorts of invisibility cloaks made of different stuff).

Most of Hogwarts seems permanently enchanted though which lends some credence to the "you just need to be really powerful" theory as both the Peverells and the Hogwarts founders are noted as being among the best wizards of their ages.

As for Runes we've got no fucking idea what the lessons actually are other than that there are translations involved. Same with Arithmancy as we never see inside those lessons.
