My personal point of confusion is why these high-tech dimensional travelers are using kevlar and/or ceramics at all and not some higher tech alternative.

I get that it's limited by the whole fact that we're not at their level of tech and thus can't presume what they'll know, but we're already looking into, researching, and theorizing higher tech replacements to those two at this very moment that'd make more sense.

You also have to consider that they're constantly falling into the unknown, jumping through time and space. Sure you can have a hard light shield, but if you don't know how to fix it or troubleshoot problems, you're SOL if something goes wrong. Or is whatever world you've found yourself on somehow interferes with the tech. Ceramic and Kevlar at the very least are reliable and not prone to malfunctions, unless physics suddenly goes to hell. Which it could.

Why was the genie shitstorm so large? I mean, I think the ZBG thing was already way overblown, but at least he kept responding like an absolute cock. The eidolon gives me spirit powers from the related CYOA. One of their abilities is to move between dimensions as a spirit. Does this mean I can leave my prison without the usual leave time applying?

The companions and side characters were intended to be comfy. I liked the idea of you and your genie standing in front of an eccentric Christmas Cake happily going on and on about things she's read in tomes, not knowing an actual genie was standing two feet from her. Or the idea that there was some crazy ninja superhero guy running around, fighting the good fight, while this not-Yakuza/illuminati ghost lady tried to keep him out of trouble. Same thing with the companions on the first page. Each of them has a story as side characters. But that got overshadowed by the rest of it, and the main problem that all the rest of them stem from is the perspective. There's no way to fix that without a full rewrite, and minor changes to the wording of introductions doesn't help. I'm going to release a relatively fixed version (as fixed as it can be without the full rewrite) on /d/ or something but /tg/ has seen enough shitstorms.

The problem is that you wrote the people on the first page as mission helpers, not as people, thus perpetuating the idea that you're just a mission and that they'd be hidden from you. Furthermore, the problem with the people on the second page is that they were written as masters and waifus/husbandos for the genie, not as friends or acquaintances. Both of these lead to an overall feeling of treachery, lying, and two-timing on the genie's part.

Also, posting it on /d/ is meaningless. A lot of us are in both threads, and I guarantee you at least one person is going to cross-post it. I won't, but I am in both threads, and if these same problems are present in your updated version then I WILL continue to provide criticism.

I think there is something to be said for the sort of lateral thinking that some cyoas are given. Not the simple "choose your points" type of build, but builds where people come up with their own stories and work within the structure of the content to make something wholly unique. Not that the type of person to put an hour into reading and alloting points for Stardust is going to be a "normal" person, but I think that sort of abnormality isn't necessarily bad. Relatively benign for sure. You're just building up a little story based on the skeleton someone else provided.

However, I think the type of people who go ballistic over cucks, PvP, immortality, and the like are exhibiting some weird social issues. That inexplicable anger at anonymous people who disagree with you or like/dislike something different.

If I had to come up with a metaphor, it's akin to a retard building a sand castle. Some may be content to exist in their own little sandy world, creating a work that may not be appreciated by everyone else. But it makes them happy. Then you have the ones that will stop playing with their stand castle, run over and knock down your sand castle because it's the wrong color or because quartz is for cucks.

When you think about it when you have the mag lock technology it is easier to carry a bolt gun and when you need to go to melee quickly mag lock it to your hip and pick up your sword than carry a heavy bolt pistol in one hand and try to cut people with your sword while swining it around. It should be a huge bother to reload the bolt pistol while holding a sword in other hand also.

A word of advice for the cyoa creator, you can add chosen battleground,chosen enemies , objective etc to it to make it more interesting.

1st will be Cyrus. He's just a douche.

2nd is Raktor, just for the sheer spectacle value, lightning and thunder, with explosions all around, the crowd will love it! (And so will I)

3rd will be Dunayk and Mordhull. It sounds like the perfect challange. Not unbeatable, but pretty darn close.

4th will be Sir Saridon, where I probably will lose.

Do what I do and carry along ideas between WIPs until you make something you want to. Sometimes I come up with ideas that have interesting CYOA mechanics but aren't enough to come to fruition on their own, so I recycle them for something else.

I've tried making something with income rates as a CYOA mechanics like 3 times before, but it never really manifested. Now I'm capitalising on that idea with my next work. I'm also using some leftover art from other CYOAs and graphical styles from discarded concepts of mine.

Nothing goes to waste.

The important thing is I have internet all the time, so I'd basically just chill forever with shitposting and video games.
