I've found Hazezon to be quite strong actually. He's a slow and shitty Avenger of Zendikar, but having that effect in the command zone is pretty good. Run a critical mass of sac outlets to negate his downside of wiping his own tokens, and use the tokens he generates to get value straight away, since they don't have haste. Martyr's Cause, Ashnod's Altar, Earthcraft, Purphoros, Chord of Calling, Skullclamp, Fecundity, Gaea's Cradle, Phyrexian Altar, Goblin Bombardment, Perilous Forays, Burn at the Stake, etc. etc. And to answer your question, yes, you do want to be running a shitload of land ramp, and try to only run really good rocks, since they don't help your land count for Hazezon.

I've been using dragon shields and KMC perfect fit. You have to pretty much guide each card in and then flatten it because it's a tight fit. You need a lot of patience, but it's a really nice result and it shuffles really well.

see my favorite games in magic are the ones that are close and are challenging. There's a difference in being competitive and trying to win as fast and easily as possible.
That's why I hate turn 3 win decks because it's usually "did I draw this in my opening hand?" "can it be countered?" then bam it's over without any interaction and I personally don't find that enjoyable.
Autopilot decks also aren't fun to me.
I have a chill but competitive attitude when it comes to magic.
For example I was playing a modern tournament a few weeks ago. this guy hit me with his goyf but he forgot to count what was in the grave and didn't tick up his goyf the extra 2 power. I realized it during the damage step and could have just ignored it and saved myself 2 life. instead I reminded him and took the 2 more points of damage. I'd rather lose knowing I didn't do anything sleezy than win because an opponent forgot a trigger. I know a lot of people would disagree and say you should win at all costs in a tournament but that just isn't my attitude

group hug decks provide benefits that seem symmetrical, but in fact aren't, and then hope to close the game with a big haymaker or a crazy powerful board state.

then you have decks that just don't try to win the game at all, and just give everyone a ton of free mana and cards, and then lose while ruining the game for everyone else as well. those decks are intentionally awful and fall within 10% power and 4 funness level (quickly dropping to 1 if repeatedly used)

Grab Jace, Unraveler of Secrets and Jace, Architect of Thought and you basically win the game. Grab Ral Zarek and Dak Fayden then suddenly you get a bunch of extra turns and gain control of an entire field. Get Sarken Unbroken and Ugin then you shit out every single dragon in your deck and play your entire hand for free.

I could go on, it's a pretty broken card with doubling season, and doesn't need any other abilities to play it.

The thing is that any decent Walker ult will end the game if you can hit it, like Ugin, Karn, Bolas, etc. Unlike them, her other abilities aren't really all that useful, so you'd only play her for the ult. Doubling Season is a card that people will almost always try to remove immediately if it resolves, so saying she's good when you have Doubling Season out isn't saying much because every walker with a good ult is. Yes, her ult is good, but you're almost never going to hit it if you don't have Doubling Season to begin with, which is pretty irrelevant when you consider that Doubling Season almost always leads to a win one way or another anyway. Bolas might chunk one person, but it's not instantly winning a table. Ulting Samut then grabbing Sarken Unbroken and Elspeth wins you the game when you enter combat, assuming you run Kolaghan or Karrthus and Dromoka.

It's not quite combo efficient, but it wins you the game at the soonest possible interval. Very few planeswalkers do the same thing at the same thing with their ult, 2 or more will get most people to scoop.

Good walkers also have good abilities to use if they can't get to their ult. Samut will only get that ult if your Doubling Season resolves and sticks. Yes, she'll likely win the game right there if she does, but anyone with any kind of threat perception won't let Doubling Season stick around if they can help it. Yes, Karn needs to Exile something good for his ult to win, but when he's not ulting he's able to put in work by exiling problem cards or picking apart hands. Ugin can pick at creatures or be a pseudo-boardwipe. Bolas can destroy creatures or steal. All Samut can do is give Double Strike or deal a very small amount of burn. Without her ult she makes little impact.

They're okay. If you have stuff like futa-Olivia in your playgroup you are going to suffer. I think Shadowborn tends to be better in B/w since that gives you stuff like Edgewalker, Immortal Servitude, and Remembrance.

Never built it, but I'd assume Ophiomancer and Grave Pact would be pretty good. You're likely never to use the removal of all counters ability, maybe Reaper from the Abyss, Massacre Wurm, white Parallel Lives, sengir autocrat, desecration demon, archfiend of depravity and elesh norn. Dirty Mike would probably be really strong if you use him as a sac outlet to set up a loop, maybe with blood artist.

What do you want to do anon? Seems versatile.
