There's your problem, and anti-matter engine is basically the engine in your car except for two things.
1. Instead of introducing the fuel to heat it is introduced to matter.
2. The inside of the system must be a perfect vacuum with a magnetic shield to prevent the anti-matter from reacting with the air/engine.

Because its a fuel injection system, you know that thing in cars that's been running on a purely mechanical system since calculator was job title and computers weren't even in sci-fi. The only difference is you need a force field to stop it from touching the sides, but you don't need an AI to keep a switch flipped to on, and in fact should do away with the switch entirely.

I actually quite like this build. It's simple and doesn't try to be flashy. Quite passable for a small merc group looking for small jobs.

A bit reliant on rail guns as your main damage dealer, though. You'd be a sitting duck against an opponent who knows your weak point is close by; you're almost exclusively a sniper boat.

For fleet engagements? It wouldn't make sense to put your city in the middle of the battlefield. Small platforms with guided weapon systems is enough, and heck, maybe by this time we'll have weapons that can efficiently project between systems. Who knows what range our space fights would be fought during this time, if we even have space fights.

I'm not sure if I specified it in the lore section of the CYOA, but as of late, there have been a lot of Blackhawk patrols and blockades in the area down "south" since the Fire Legion has been fucking around a lot. So, if you're ever in trouble and you're being chased by a fuckton of their ships, it can't hurt to bring them into one of their blockades.

Mana blasters and railguns both fill opposite niches, but ideally you'd want a fleet to operate that sort of flexibility. Maybe two ships with one and the other. In your case, you have weapons that are exclusively for really long ranged engagements but nothing to really mitigate the issue of enemies getting close.

For solo builds, you're probably gonna want to go with a more balanced option. Or, if you want to fill in your ship's weakness, get something like cloaking or the Herald command mod to escape. Maybe a faster ship to kite with or the Triglav command mod to hold them in place to steady your railgun aiming.

I like writing, but it's much better if it's interspersed as you go. I really like the CYOAs that dole out a bit on each page--like that Prince/Princess one that I can never remember the name of. A lot of lore/text/conversation over the course of a work is fine. All clustered up in the intro, however, is a big turn off. At least for me.

Is it just me or is the Saver CYOA surprisingly generous with stats? Am fiddling with a neat Caster concept and was able to get EX Mana and NP without totally gimping her other stats. Not that I'm complaining, it fits the concept.

They have terrible velocity. They are useful for close-range slow ships, i.e. the guy with 5 fighters at over 20 navigation who had them. Faster, small ships will still tear you up. So you'd need something like a Missile Launcher or a Flak Cannon.

My agility and Presence Concealment should make it easy to instantly appear, stab a crapload of times, then run away. Really, if my enemy is a Berserker with high Agility I am screwed.

The plan is to seed cursed items/treasure about the crypt. The raiders will probably guess this but with recorded rune decoys, twisting passages and addling spring water they'll eventually take the bait (by which time I'll have personalised curses to their respective psyches). If all that fails I can call on my trusty centurion to rally the gobs (think of the children!) and hit and run until they decide it's not worth it. On slow days I practice illusions etc... on the hostage and any captured raiders.
It's a good life.

Wish: Create a Saber

Background: A vessel for Ahura, the counterpart to Angra Mainyu. Summoned in a hypothetical purified Grail War following the drama of the Fifth, meaning to oversee the war and ensure no further pollution of the Grail.

Things went wrong and Ahura was incarnated into the war as a Servant, identity merging with a vessel worshipped as a manifestation of Ahura in ancient times.

Class: Whilst technically an aberration in the system that should warrant the Ruler or perhaps even Saver class, Ahura's botched summoning has resulted in her taking on the Caster class due to the immense divine power inherent to her origin.

Physical: Ahura is female, and leaves a superficially gallant impression due to her divinity. Anyone close to her will be able to see past this and will get a more normal impression from her.

She has a young adult form, possessing long white hair without an ahoge. Her heroic garment is a suit of ceremonial silver armor without any real defensive benefits, functioning as a +1 NBL Ceremonial outfit. She also possesses a formal gown and a casual set of clothes.

This blast will exhaust the wielder, forcing them to rest for some time in Ahura’s territory before regaining the ability to wield the blade.

Ahura Mazda: Manifestation of the Uncreated Spirit
Anti-Grail EX-Ranked Noble Phantasm (Ability)

A power equalling the Grail itself, this Noble Phantasm could be considered a complete mockery of the Grail War as a system. If invoked, Caster will begin the process of transforming into a vessel over the course of three days. Whilst Caster is utterly vulnerable during this time, upon the transformation’s completion all Heroic Spirits currently called into existence by the Grail will immediately be consumed by Ahura Mazda, which will then dissipate and end the War with no winner. Ahura’s divinity will leave the false vessel, leaving her alive but no longer a Servant.

Right then, took a good look at your Lancer. I think this basically comes down to how the battle is approached.

In a straight up fight, it's 50/50. Ahura's magic is god-tier and more than enough to molest The Anathema, but there's no fucking way that she can deal with an Anti-World EX+ weapon, especially one that seems themed after killing gods. I think that in a straight up fight between them, you win seven times out of ten. If the fight's in Ahura's territory, she probably wins but that's cheating, and you can probably destroy her territory with Arbiter anyway.

Where things get interesting is where Ahura plays to her strengths as a Caster-preparation and tactics. You have E-ranked luck and pretty much no good defensive stuff for protecting your master, so I'm willing to bet that if Ahura and her Master teamed up against you and your Master, you'd get completely BTFO because of her Shielder abilities and her ability to basically make her Master a shitty Servant.

Overall, I think Ahura would win most encounters in a Grail War situation against you, but in a flat out fight she just can't compete.

I mean honestly, even though I built her as a potential heroine, I think her best role in the story would probably be as the main villain in an edgy story with an anti-hero protagonist. She and her Master (probably the War's Church representative, a good version of Kotomine to counter the hero being an evil Kiritsugu) are trying to end the war after the hero's edginess starts to risk corrupting the Grail again, the hero gathers a couple of fellow evil Masters and stages a big dramatic attack on her territory. Edgy hero's Servant is destroyed, final battle is the hero vs Verethragna.

I haven't made a build for a new CYOA since Ordion made the latest version of Hell Invasion, and the only reason I count that one specifically is because I'd have to refer to my build document to go further back and I don't have it on me right now. Nothing new has held my interest and no WIPs have changed that outlook in the near future. I still come here obviously, but not to shitpost. Just waiting to see if that changes.

Also I (still) despise people posting WIPs. I understand people looking for help or direction on what is and isn't advised in image layout or such and I even help people doing so, but that doesn't change how I feel about it. You're using your audience in a similar way that movie producers use test groups instead of actually using a test group. But, just my two cents.

I also noticed that Verg Ahura might actually be really effective against you because he has a strong wish-it wouldn't last for long, because you seem to have a strong will, but it gives her an opening to fuck you up.

Remember that I'm saying you win 7/10, so all the stuff I'm saying in her favour really only means 'she wins 3/10 times if she isn't in her territory'. I do think that as Caster, Ahura and her master should be capable of assassinating your Master consistently enough that a fight never happens though since your Servant doesn't seem at all capable of protecting them.

I'd consider your character something akin to a supercharged Lancelot in practise-he's a complete Sue when it comes to fighting, but enough preparation can fuck him over.

I also took a look at Magic Resistance (B) and I actually think the gap between the resistance and your Noble Phantasm might be wide enough that it won't be a problem for Ahura. Even some modern magecrafts can bypass magic resistance B, but A ranked Magic 'operates on completely alien logic from modernity'. So Ahura actually has a good chance of taking you in a 1v1. I still think that it comes down to you winning a direct fight 7/10 though. Maybe she can win 4/10 if she has her Master with her wielding Verethragna, because her Shielder powers will make the Master a bitch to hurt.

B rank magic does bypass B rank resistance IIRC. If you look at the official descriptions for magic resistance, it seems that it's more geared towards defending you against Masters and modern Magecraft than it is the strong stuff, even at B rank. Her magic would still be weakened of course, but with High speed incantations A she can probably still fire enough at you that you'd have a problem.

Sorry, I was wrong. Looked it up and Arthur's B-Rank tends to be enough to defend against B-ranked magic. I'm probably forced to depend on B+ stuff then, which doesn't change my answer but means I can't really think of a way for her to win a 1v1.

So to conclude:

You win a 1v1 fairly decisively. A 2v2 with Masters and Servants both fighting probably ends with Ahura and your Master dying, but my Master managing to escape thanks to Shielder powers. Neither side wins the War, but in the long run at least my Master survived. If my master and Ahura are in their territory or specifically plan to take you out, they probably win quite easily.
