When you perform a steal combat maneuver during the spell's duration, you can steal closely worn items, such as articles of clothing, as well as items hidden in a pack or bag. Stealing an item in a pack or bag gives your opponent +5 CMD against your steal maneuver, while stealing a closely worn item gives your opponent +10 CMD against it.

When stealing a closely worn item with this spell, you can only steal items that could be donned or removed with a move action or less, but you can attempt a steal maneuver even against such items that are out of sight, such as a tunic worn underneath a suit of armor. This aspect of the spell turns you partially incorporeal, and so opponents with armor bonuses provided by a force effect add those bonuses to their CMD against your steal maneuver.

Yeah, and your chance at getting in should be directly related to how many evil games the character didn't get in. Two for me.

Taking suggestions on how to improved Gunslinger and Monk VMCs while I think of how to port some other classes over to the VMC system.

Thoughts so far for Gunslinger:

Hey /pfg/ I got a stupid idea for a game. Got some feedback last time, changed it up a bit.

Double long-arms make excellent backup weapons for melee primaries however. It's far more accurate even with the penalties than a crossbow by mid levels, and can pack a decent enough punch if double-fired.

Pistol misfire is pretty spooky without being Gunslinger. Granted, you have two, but if you plan on dual wielding you risk a 25% to misfire on a broken gun without training. I've always preferred a blunderbuss with salt shot as a sidearm on my Lore Warden.

So what are some good ranged options for an eldritch Archer magus that is not a longbow, short bow, or firearm.
My gm decided that if I wanted a bonded firearm I need to buy it for the crafting cost because it is too valuable to get for free. And longbow feels boring even though it will out damage the gun by a lot and have less feat tax.

Did you ever review the reapps for HV?

So I'm building a two-handed fighter as per the archetype and focusing on sundering. I'll be using a Lucerne Hammer for the additional bonus to armor sunder. My question is regarding the rules around the Shield Brace feat. While I realize it seems redundant to ask, I take it I'm still two-handing the weapon when attacking with this feat, and will keep all the damage benefits that accompany it?

It just seems odd that I can take this feat, use a buckler (and eventually strap a decent AC bonus enchantment to it) and the fact that it is masterwork means there will be NO attack penalty involved.

How could I do this? I was thinking about crossbow, but I did not see the point in needing rapid reload for a small bump in damage, I liked the firearms for theme, but needing to spend an extra 650 gold for an inferior weapon just rubs me all the wrong way. Yes, you're still two-handing it for damage bonuses/power attack/whatever. Also, you're better off with a light shield. It also doesn't have an ACP penalty when masterworked and you can bop people in the face with it when they're in close range.

Shield Brace costs two feats and AC is generally a sucker's game long-term anyway; it's one of those things that seems overpowered but in practice isn't much more effective than just strapping a cestus to your hand and using two feats on other stuff.

One of the biggest pitfalls of any 'big ship' game - underwater or space alike - is the "not much you can do" issue. This is where things fail the hardest.

Tiddy monsterism should be something extended to other classes, but only to certain archetypes by varying degrees.

Punchgirls get big ones, spellcasters can get bigger ones or otherwise are flat, rogues are small or flat unless they've specced into deception and Charisma skills, miscellaneous martials don't get more than medium, and holy knights have flat chests unless they're motherly/big-sisterly veterans, in which case they get huge gazongas that barely fit their armor.

Here is the question. 14 Str/18 Dex or 18 Dex/14 Str?

That remind me of an oracle half-elf which had boobs, hips and butt for days that I once played. She was the mama gooze of the party, NG among non-good so she spend most of her downtime counseling or just plainly being the party's psychoanalyst.

That's the kind of shit you've got to take great care doing. For example, I kinda took the wind out of a game's sails for a while by killing off a particular shieldmaiden NPC the party had picked up, but she went out roaring defiantly at a dragon's breath weapon.

Later brought her back as a ghost for the end of that particular story arc, and gave the PCs an item they could use to summon her every so often.

Hey /tg/, question on RAW versus RAI for you. Taking a look at Linnorm Wrath:
With practiced ease, you answer a blow with a blow. Even when you are overwhelmed, your body deflects the force of the strike back to the attacker as a stunning wave of energy.

Prerequisite(s): Wis 13, Improved Unarmed Strike, Linnorm Style, Linnorm Vengeance, base attack bonus +9 or monk level 9th.

Benefit(s): When you use the Linnorm Vengeance feat to allow an enemy to hit you, you can make a retaliatory unarmed strike attack against that opponent as an immediate action. This acts as an attack of opportunity, and counts against the number of attacks of opportunity you can make each round. Additionally, once per day when a melee attack deals enough damage to knock you unconscious or kill you, the attacker must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw (DC = 10 + 1/2 your character level + your Wisdom modifier) or be stunned for 1 round. This save occurs after you make the retaliatory unarmed strike granted by the Linnorm Vengeance feat.

The text states that this works as an immediate action, however should it? Having to burn 3 feats, take damage to trigger something that gives you one attack at the cost of your AOOs seems to be completely awful, however simply letting it trigger as an AOO as indicated in the second sentence seems fair. Thoughts?

How do I handle ability scores for a strength-based warlord assuming 25-point buy? I'd like to avoid dumping wisdom for scarlet throne stuff, but it doesn't seem possible.

My oracle was doing guard duty, casting spells on the party for make their sleep better when all of sudden the murderball appears without triggering the alarm spell the party's wizard casted nor the ranger's perimeter traps. The robot crippled her with a nano bots injection and since she was helpless it could do the stat damage ability without any interruption until the party's bloodrager wake up by the screams and after I succeded a DC 20 fort check so my poor girl could do simce the nanos made her mute for some reason.

As the information given in the LFG implies, gnolls are going to be common antagonists for a while. Genies will become more and more of a thing as things progress.

Other than that, I really can't say much without giving spoilers, but you won't go wrong if you expect to encounter common enemy types like undead or evil outsiders at least once in a blue moon.

Also, you're not looking at the right maneuvers if damage is all you see. If you use it in a two or three combat a day model it still plays second fiddle to spell casting. The more combat you have without rest the exponentially stronger the classes get however as they largely lack resources a day.

What's a good way to get wings by around 10th-13th level? They don't have to be permanent, even just 1/day is fine.

Well first, while they're expensive, there's the shoulder slot wondrous item, literally "wings of flying". There are several other items though that allow flight.

If you have initiating access, Good characters can get the level 5 Stance for Silver Crane, which gives you wings and flight among some other bonuses. Evil characters can get the level 6 stance for Black Seraph instead.

Other than those though, it's MOSTLY going to be either race or class based. Numerous options across the board, from sorcerer bloodlines to mechanical contraptions, though.

How does pathfinder scale explosives? Does it not take a loss of efficacy into account as more mass is used?

For instance a 30 lbs black powder bomb does 6d6 bludgeoning/piercing in a 30 foot radius. Assuming a direct scale with no loss of efficacy then a 1000 lbs bomb would do 200d6 bludgeoning/piercing over a 1000 foot radius.

For fucks sake, if a nuclear reactor actually explodes rather than melts down, it's a 250' radius with merely DC 20 reflex half.

The 180 average damage wouldn't be bad (it's half fire half bludgeoning though) but it's reflex-half. And that tiny tiny radius. That means a low level rogue or aegis (both have early evasion) 5' away from literally a nuclear explosion will probably escape completely unaffected 50% of the time.

Meanwhile the average archer can cause that incident from his 3rd range increment and not even worry about the radiation.

Does anyone feel like the non Unarmed Combat Spheres in Spheres of Might are kinda worthless? Like most involve useless shit like bleed damage, actively detrimental shit(like needing to fatigue yourself or sundering your loot), or things that will start out good but become useless later on(anything involving a non Dirty trick CMD).

And the effects in general just seem lest interesting, even if Path of War had a lot of "MOAR DAMAGE!!!!!" issues, it at least abetted the fact that you were(mostly) using a single attack action and and had interesting and level relevant riders and effects.

Is this me being dumb, or does anyone else have a similar opinion? Thoughts on Spheres of Might as a whole?
