So what's the max amount of power I can get from DBZM and DBZAF with perks alone?

As a villainous Saiyan in AF get both the Transformation capstone and the Power capstone. Have a companion buy the Power capstone. Total cost 1150.

In Multiverse get the Potara Earrings to fuse with the Companion from AF.

The more you guys talk about power levels, the more I realize that they are, in fact, bullshit, and the only meaningful build is to take Gag World in DBZM.

Personally I plan on picking up forms because I think they're cool, even the stupid ones.

But yeah, anon, in a way, taking gag world or at least injecting a lot of jokes is exactly what Toriyama would want you to do.

Power Levels are bullshit that's why there's no use complaining about them

Look at this nigga right here, he hasn't been relevant since Worlds Strongest but he kicked ass in Revival of F, Toriyama basically said he is only as strong as he wants to be and now he is on the team deciding the fate of the universe, yet his power level was sitting around 200 until now

Powerlevels are meaningless across all jumps therefor people who complain about being overpowered in a single player make believe cyoa are stupid
>>
I am just popping in for a minute to let the thread know I am almost done with a jump of World of Cultivation. It is a xianxia. All I have left is the custom table that allows you to create your own cultivation method. I hope you guys like it when it is done.

I have a question for anyone who knows about Nechronica.

How common are the Dolls/Sisters? If one actually made an effort to go out searching for them on a regular basis, how likely would it be to find them?

I'm trying to do some rough estimates of how many Sisters/Dolls my little community ends up with after ten years and I have no idea what kind of numbers to event expect.

I'm planning on going full out on the Search and Rescue. Teleportation and Divination magic levels of all out.

I forgot Elvira's on speaking terms with Cain, Abel and Destiny of the Endless.

I mentally shat a brick when I saw them chatting in DC Occult like it ain't even a thing. Destiny then looked up and read "And as the Jumper slowly recovered from utter shock, I thumbed through the pages to show him that one time we hosted a series of horror stories together. Those were simpler days, when I didn't have a whole family of dysfunctional anthropomorphic personifications to worry about. Or the occasionally loitering dimensional anomaly. My book was a lot lighter back then"

And so I did.

It seemed rude not to.

>>51574677
1. Preheat a vaporised cloud of water to -2 degrees, and waft it around with an artificial air current system using my own sorcerous intuition, to begin incorporating perfection as a concept.

2. Trace the soon-to-be snow through the Mudras of Refinement and Timeless Glory until it begins to fall for about 20 minutes. Thus ensuring the snowcone will never diminish, Avalon-style.

3. Using the power of Page of Void, extend my very soul outwards throughout all of existence to find the most ideal snowcone as a reference point.

4. Teleport the snow towards my Elemental Pole of Dreams, where my personal combination of the First and Third Magics as well as Divine Words (also known as the High Speed Materialisation of Nothingness) will be used to crystalise a dream of the perfect snowcone out of True Ether.

5. Using Szoreny-wood and Pyrian shards, distill a viric laser in order to actualise flavors found only in the dreams of the multiverse's most refined snowcone connoiseurs.

6. Using Cytherean energy and Oramus-flame, cultivate impossibly delicious melons, berries and other fruits to garnish the snowcone with.

7. Serves one very lucky child from now until the end of time.

Yo /jc/ so a question about companions and stuff, especially in Jumps not giving us the option of a specific companion.

(Personally, I really, really want to grab the best Kurokami from MedakaBox, Kujira, but decided to make this a general query so I can refer to this in future)

So what happens? Do I fanwank something? Use a Supplement? Or cry as I have to give up my dreams?

>It was mainly the one at the end and fuckhuge blasts, yeah. Also in-setting he's...
Right, makes sense.

>That and being able to just tank one's way through a timestop seems very high essence Lunar-y.
Seemed like a shaping defence to me. Possibly based on Strength/Stamina.

>Later one of Groug's peers tanks an entire army firing Stasis weapons on him for days or weeks (I forgot),
Classic example of Luna's Fortitude in action, yes. Or ludicrous soak. Both?

>Wait. Wait, Lunars have time manipulation?!
Yeah, time (and space) manipulation's one of the things they start doing at higher(ish) essence. Reverse aging, speeding themselves up, dialing the time in their pocket dimensions up and down, and other fuckery.

Hell, Blinking Eye Of Chaos allows them to slow everyone around them down to about half speed (which looks like dilating time mechanically), and that's only essence 4. (But requires being in Wyld areas until you are Essence 7 and can do Wyld charms everywhere.)

I could easily see high-essence charms building onto that to replicate Nox's time"stop".

>And I dunno, he regens by using drones to siphon life energy into himself. That, along with the zombies, screams Abyssal necrotech to me...
True... Abyssal would fit that more. Just have to delve deep into Sorcery and Artifacts for the timefuckery then. Though Necrotech's not exclusively Abyssal, it /does/ make more sense for an Abyssal to use.

>Admittedly I might be overlooking something, but considering Luna actually has an intimacy of fear towards Autocthon I'd imagine she'd be leary of equipping her champions with a proficiency towards artifice.
Admittedly, Lunars aren't great at artifice with their charms, no. But just because they can't pump out artifacts with dedicated Craft charms like Solars doesn't mean they can't do it at all.

>Here we see an elder Solar...

Reminder that Goku is a threat to the universe. He convinced Zen-Oh to hold the Multiverse Tournament in DB Super.

He didn't know that the Zen-Oh twins would decide to destroy the losing universes but he's SEEN one of them destroy a universe first hand.

Beerus warned Goku that Zen-Oh is unpredictable but he still did it anyway.

All Jumpers are advised to kill Son Goku.

With all the great villains dead, 17 is among the 10 most powerful beings in Universe 7.
>>

I really just like forging metaphors in things like cultivation. Like, what the true smith forges is himself, or in working metal into shape the metal works you into shape.
>>
>>51575380

>>
>>51575443
If you're stealing them from necromancers, beware, there's a subset of dolls, under a name I don't remember, who are powered up girls who are loyal to the necromancer, for whatever reason. They'd either spy on you so a necromancer can kill you or infiltrate the city to slaughter dolls.
>>
>>51575289
Can we get Wip ?
>>
>>51575476
he's only unconcious
>>
>>51575416

That's simple to fix.

Just kill Goku before he ever meets Zen-Oh. They'd never have become friends and Zen-Oh has no reason to object to you killing him.
>>
>>51575416
He will probably not even notice in the 10 years that you are in the jump.
>>
>>51575506
I think those are the Savants. But you raise a great point.

I guess I'm making my own golem army to defend the city then. I could probably make my own Dolls... but that seems cruel.
>>
>>51575539
Shouldn't we kill ourselves next for wanton killing people for what they might do without ever considering other options?
>>
>>51575604

Well I guess if you want to be BORING, then you don't have to kill Goku.

You have to teach him not to be a selfish moron. That would avoid him starting the tournament.
>>
>>51575604
Seems like the easier thing to do would be to selectively mindwipe portions of Goku's memory and/or alter his personality. That way, you can still keep him around as a battering ram.
>>
>>51575647
Naaaah, this definitely sounds like we need to kill ourselves after doing the deed. We do seem to get a measure of entertainment from murdering people, and that's a really dangerous element to have around after all.
>>
>>51575647
>Goku
>not a selfish moron
I thought you said you didn't have to kill him?
>>
>>51575539
But then you have to help Trunks kill Zamasu.

>>51575761

>>51575712
Personality alteration also works if teaching doesn't. We have perks for that.
>>
>>51575678
I mean there's a difference between enjoying killing threats to reality and willfully endagering the entire multiverse multiple times by engaging a utterly sociopathic near omnipotent being who ha fun by destroying planets and galaxies, then compounding then problem by bringing a perfect clone of him from a multiverse he already erased.

By which I mean on the table.

>>51575946
It is on there but it is in the general perk section. I will add a note of it directly below the customization section head as well.
>>
>>51575931
Optimus Prime, obviously. The color scheme and face mask should give it away.
>>
>>51575869
Yeah, but if the only reason we're dead set on killing him in the first place is for our own entertainment. Goku is a hero who's done a lot of good over the years, and it's not like he'd be impossible to convince. The scenario we're given paints Jumper who has access to far more universes as someone who will make excuses to kill people for their own enjoyment without said person even having done anything yet. So, if they really wanted to do the right thing, they'd kill the omniversal threat to potentially incomprehensible numbers of sapient life.

I'm shitposting in case that wasn't clear already, just making sure we're all on the level here.

>>
>>51575804
Can we take multiple Cultivation Methods?
>>
>>51576026
See, this is why we must all go on a quest to kill Jumper, nothing else could stop Jumper besides Jumper. Jumper would totally kick Jumper's ass, but the problem is actually killing them. I believe if we all put our heads together we'll be able to do it.
>>
>>51576124
Honestly I had not thought of that before but I will add an option for you to buy a second cultivation method for cp that you will be able to customize as well. I think 100 cp would be a large enough price for it, I will tack it onto the basic cultivation method perk.
>>

>>51576192
It is and it isnt, nobody is immortal and the powers are not as high as in some settings. That said at one point you have a sword xiu who uses a greatsword that weighs 3 tons to fight. He is (to my knowledge) roughly average to slightly above average cultivation at the time and the mc does note how difficult that would be but he manages it.

>>

Penny Dreadful has one in the Drop In tree. Also a Learning perk.

It is a monsters setting, but seems more atmospheric horror than having heavyweight monsters.
>>
>>51576271
Reading the reviews of the novel, most people who read to raws seem to say that the story was good the first 100-200 chapters, but fell apart in the end. How would you rate it?
>>
>>51576329
Well, that can be done by careful and selective alteration of memories.

If that's boring, though, you can always just throw a ton of corruption effects at him and see if that sticks.
That might piss off some of his friends, but... I mean, a lot of the problem is that he's an idiot who does stupid things. You could just take advantage of the corruption to put the kibosh on that and then just say, "Okay, go be nice to your friends and train." And, other than a weird tendency to occasionally scream "HAIL JUMPER!!", he... MIGHT be mostly the same.
I mean, the guys who got corrupted by Babidi mostly retained their personalities, right? It depends on what level of mindlessness you're shooting for.

You could also go for soul manipulation, which is a finicky science, but would be extremely effective if you could figure it out. There's a perk that lets you go into people's souls and move stuff around in Shin Megami Tensei. "Psycho Diver". It's not an exact science but it's there. Maybe test that out on some throwaway minions first.

If you're looking for something more benign, there's love potions from Gravity Falls, which create genuine love. Goku's loved ones can USUALLY reign him in a little bit.
At the very least, if you put in some effort to arrange for Goku to fight the people he wants without putting everyone at risk, he'd probably be all for that.

I mean, at the end of the day you just need him to be able to fight and still get on with his friends.

I Have only read the first 500 or so chapters but I love it. His elder friend is the real xianxia protag while zuo mo (the mc) is a relatively nice guy who just wants to survive and get rich. He starts as a farmer but gradually learns other ways as he is forced to change himself in order to survive. I read every new chapter as soon as they drop in english.

Personally I want to know how Toriyama is going to handle Zen-Oh in the end. The character is so blatantly a negative on existence, but he's not been portrayed as a villain. It's very strange. Is he really going to be allowed to blow up all the other universes? Is nobody really going to give him an attitude adjustment so he and his gods of destruction stop needlessly destroying life?

In jumps where you do an import or create, I fanwank that if you can make the created companion have abilities close enough to a canon character, they can _be_ the canon character. This does not work for the canon characters way more powerful then can be gotten with CP, or with signature abilities there are no CP perks of, but it helps in some circumstances. Is that what you were talking about?

Unrelated question, has Arnold Schwarzenegger ever been in any sitcoms as a regular, or maybe even a cameo appearance?

I beleive he was referring as to how he cna get a companion that is not purchaseable through the jump. Since the jump only allows you to pick up two specific characters from the series, and gives an import option, no creation option.

The jump is a little lackluster personally, I mean I know balancing that crazy manga is hard as hell, but I feel like people would go into this jump and not know that this jump has characters that can warp nonexistance or destroy stars with finger beams based solely on the jumps information.

The description of the perk itself. MATCH MADE! allows you to make love potions in all the shades and nuances. Everything from puppy to complete adoration.

Cupid also says something very similar with talking about the potions to Mabel.
>>
>>51576580
> Where does it say Gravity Falls love potions create genuine love?
In the show. We see the effects and while they're instantaneous and lasting, they're far more like actual love than the weird date rape drugs of Harry Potter.

Gravity Falls also has a lot of different types of love available, everything from schoolyard crush to puppy love to real long-lasting romance, and even anti-love, which disintegrates the effects from other potions and causes the targets to hate each other.

This is all the focus of an entire episode. Mabel throws some love potion on Robbie, who is miserable, making him and a girl in the teenager clique fall in love. This causes a huge ripple of dysfunction in the other teenagers, because Robbie's also Wendy's ex, and one of the other guys had a crush on the girl who fell in love with Robbie, so Mabel and Dipper steal the anti-love potion to reset the effects.
But then it turns out the teenagers can all work out their differences like normal fucking humans, and they all remain friends, and the two teens in love are happy when they weren't before, so Mabel/Dipper just decide it's good enough as is and let it be.

RWBY Finale update: RNJR beat the Nuck. Jaune showed off how much he's improved, revealing Crocea Mors has a claymore mode via combining it with the sheath, and halting the Nuck's charge that would have killed Ren and Nora with pure strength alone, no shield. Ren went berserk, and was nearly killed, and had to be slapped to his senses by Nora while Ruby and Jaune held off the Nuck, but with the rest of the team was finally able to take revenge, cutting off the Nuck's arms and head with the dagger his father gave him.

Qrow survived, and seems to have recovered. Furthermore, he and Oscar have met, and after Oscar told him (at Ozpin's beckoning) "I'd like my cane.", Qrow gave him Ozpin's cane, knowing instantly who he was. Professor Lionheart, someone who works at Haven Academy, is Salem's informant, and is meeting with Doctor Watts. Everyone is headed towards Mistral. The strongest we have seen so far in english is a yuanyang. Thats high middle cultivation. Like rank 5 out of 7.

When two of them fight entire islands can dissapear and pretty much only other yunyang or higher in setting can kill them.

Jindan (the ranks below) are normally the most powerful you will run into in most areas and they can kill a lot of people but they can also be taken out easily enough with proper planning.

Im actually adding the ranks into the nites as we speak.

You can buy multiple Magics, right?

The Summon is the one I really need though.
I mean to everyone else I look like Glastic 2.0.
She can summon 3 ghosts, I can summon 3 departed.
Hers are just projections, but mine seem fully real.
She can switch summons easily, but I can only do it once a day.
She can only bring back capes she has collected, but I can bring back anything and everything I have killed.
The summoning the dead thinks makes most everyone see me as the counterpart to the Faerie King, but the fact it does not need capes at all should make Cauldron, who think they know how her powers work (agent responsible for recycling agents of dead capes) make the similarity of what has to be a completely different power to hers look suspicious and intentional, when they know triggers are not supposed to work that way.

>>
>>51576834
Ideally, Regular people from the current jump I have empowered in various ways. Like turns out the Frankenstein Process from Penny Dreadful does not have to be used on only dead people, and synergies really well with conduits. If you know the science behind both, you can pass energy through a existing Electrokinetic Conduit to the donor, to give them not just the conduit abilities, but a Frankenstein like hardier body then the normal conduit making procedure, without the Frankenstein processes "needs stitching up after being hurt" because they can heal using electricity, including the trickle of bio electricity naturally produced by the human body.

And then give them Power Armor, because why not?

Kind of puts the lie to the claim that the objection to DBZ being an end jump was that people loved the setting and wanted to go there without having to end their chains. Because here we have these alternate settings that just happen to have the same power level, and people are jumping at them. I don't personally care about the power level stuff, if people want to be strong that's fine. This is a dumb escapist power fantasy either way. I'd like an actual Dragon Ball jump. You know, the first one, before the Z was ever a thing? Where you could have plot happen without an entire episode where nothing at all happens except opposing sides talking about how they are going to power up and beat you with this new technique (which is not actually shown in this episode, that comes next episode) On, and everyone being surprised REALLY, REEALLY LOUDLY?!?

I mean there is like a decade or more between then Dragon Ball begins and Dragon Ball Z happens, a setting that has been fully shown, no fan fiction needed at all.

I know the Correspondence from Fallen London is canonically dangerous as hell, and is generally just good for setting yourself on fire. So taking the perk that lets you speak it isn't going to let you create universal law by speaking.

But there are some differences between the Jumper speaking the Correspondence and the player in Fallen London researching the sigils. For one thing, a Jumper could have hundreds of Intelligence and Speech Perk. They're also SPEAKING the Correspondence. From their mouth. Which is much harder than fucking around with stones.

Is it safe to assume that an EXTREMELY intelligent Jumper could scare the shit out of the Masters and make the Bazaar incredibly nervous after taking that perk? What I have in mind is using it to sound extremely frightening. A voice as searing and unforgiving as the heat of a star.
>>
>>51577786
That to
But you can't deny that virtually every jumper could obliterate everyone in half the jumps out there if they have over 50 jumps
Sure having a gunfight in Generic Western to save the poor Mexican village makes a good story but you could just vaporize the banditos with magic or transmute a bunch of shit into gold for the villagers or use an antimatter super death beam to destroy all of Mexico
After a certain point almost nothing Barring Drawbacks can really pose a threat to most Jumpers unless it can bypass all defenses and regeneration and just insta-kill you
Even supers and shonen settings don't amount to much if your Chain is in the high double digits

So come up with all the cool fanfiction you want but at least admit that the only time you have any challenge in jump is when you decide to impose limits on yourself

See, this is the problem with people like you. The only reason you clamor about "powerwanking" is because you're too sheltered, too pathetic, and too selfish to think of anything but combat as a worthy or challenging endeavor. A jumper shouldn't be following the plot in those kinds of with; they need to set their ambitions higher. Also, fuck the idea that only combat can be interesting. There are other kinds of conflict and many more stories to tell.

I genrally limit myself to things I gained in the jump itself, excluding stuff like learning and charisma boosters, simply because I always feel /really/ cheap beating someone with something they could not possibly defend against. It's also much more satisfying for me to become the Very Bestᵀᴹ with the native magic/fighting system.

I do know though that there are a lot of jumpers that just change the world on day 1 of the jump with power that no one of that universe could stand against. So, how do you do it?

Absolutely. It's worth noting the doors of ormolu and glass as well as throwing an auction when you own a Bazaar permit imply the Correspondence is involved, to some extent, in the Bazaar's feeding process upon commerce

That /really/ isn't what would probably worry them, though. It's implied the Correspondence is what their most important contracts are written in. The current status quo is maintained via a contract between Queen Victoria and the Masters.

And Bad Things happen when the contracts are fucked with. The ancient Egyptians managed to trap the Masters and Bazaar on Earth without any way to "collect" Egypt because a sympathetic Master helped them

Heck, the idea of a HUMAN being able to comfortably speak the Correspondence to any extent would be scary. So far, the two greatest known scholars have ended up as a crazy hobo king and a scrap dealer for the Masters.

Anyway, general scariness should totally be possible although it may come in a roundabout way. If you fail at stealing London street signs from the Bazaar, a Master puts on a spoopy mask with Correspondence sigils written on it. You're bombarded with the sight of burning words and the sound of chittering bats until you faint from fear

But. . .canon Goku does have brain damage. Isn't that all but confirmed by their phrasing of how his coming to Earth worked? All Saiyans have that violence loving conqueror side, but he hit his head and ended up chill. That's pretty much brain damage right there. Not to mention he was raised by Grandpa Gohan for only a few years, was up in the mountains for a while, went through Dragon Ball's plot and never really got any actual schooling, so he's got a lot of excuses for being dumb too. Brain damaged and dumb is pretty much canon.

He can still love people, it's just the concept of a family doesn't really compute with Saiyans. Think of the best you're ever gonna get with a Saiyan being like, best friend status.

Depends on when, the tech does develop over time, basically though the protagonists suit from the latest point in whatever timeframe you are talking about. Special note though goes to the Unicorn, not because it's so powerful itself(it's pretty good for it's point in the timeline but not spectacularly) really but because it's from the series where Newtypes where less kind of a space wizard, and more actually space wizards.

Vegeta isn't brain damaged, Goku is. Also, this >>51578337. Vegeta used to care even LESS about Trunks then Goku did about Gohan.

>>51578347
To be fair, Goku is, again, brain damaged. It's kind of unfair to say that Vegeta's a better "person" just because Goku legitimately can't feel or understand something due to something he can't control.
>>
>>51578142
Eh, I feel like even if jumpchain were real, I wouldn't become some sort of hypergod of morality that has to fix everything and wants everyone to dance to his tunes. >>
>>51578078
I do the same, although I typically limit myself to abilities that are similar to the setting that I'm in. I'll use my Bending abilities in Naruto, for example, or use my biology and gengineering skills in Resident Evil. But I usually limit myself to using powers and skills that can be "explained" within the contexts of a jump, only using my full power when shit hits the fan and I've got few other options.
>>
>>51577937
No it isn't. Powerwanking is when you're masturbating to your power. When it stops being about the story and starts being about self-indulgent celebration of power for its own sake.
>>
>>51578379
This is the sci-fi part Toriyama actually thought ahead about. Goku's interactions with people in Z are heavily influenced by his saiyan blood.
>>
>>51578386
>Vegeta used to care even LESS about Trunks then Goku did about Gohan.
TBF, that's because Trunks was from a one-night stand who he hadn't even seen in months from his perspective.

Then he got to know, and care about, Future Trunks. Who got the shit-kicked out of him by Cell.
It was FT getting fucked up that put everything into perspective for Vegeta.
>>

Coraline, it could be done, and it's a neat story, but there's not a whole lot of world building in the book, or the moive.

You are literally retarded.
>>
>>51578417
That's false. It sounds right, but that isn't the definition of the term.
You see wanking the power of a setting in this context is the same as what people do on the VS. Wiki. It has absolutely nothing to do with masturbation.

Go read a few articles there and tell me what people do here is powerwanking. I dare you.
>>
>>51578405
Oh, I get you now. Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant. Yeah, that is kind of interesting, actually, especially since Vegeta actually adapts fairly quickly to human society, where as Goku...well, he's not as bad as Abridged makes him out to be, but he's still more than a little disconnected.

>>51578429
That's a fair point, though it did also take Vegeta being humbled (again) by Cell.

Nah dude, there are lots of moderates out here with us, literally tens. I for one just avoid these big arguments since they never accomplish anything.
>>
>>51578415
Yup, I totally agree with that. The jumps I love the most are of settings I really like, especially the people. So I feel like I wouldn't be able to relate with them when I use powers left and right that simply don't exist in their universe. Also, most of the time I join the heroes and protagonists in their adventure, or play some other role in the story. If I were to use powers that could solve the conflict in a few minutes, what's the point? Where's the sense of adventure there?
>>

As much as I support this train of thought, I'm pretty sure it's left purposefully ambiguous. The best description we get for his arrival is, "He was really unruly, and then he hit his head and almost died, and now he's nice now."
That could be brain damage, or it could just be straight amnesia.
As a side note, supposedly Turles, who is really similar to Goku in a lot of ways, is supposed to be like a whatif "Goku if he'd never hit his head", and they seem about as smart as each other, so I dunno, take that as you will.

Totally on point about the no schooling thing, though. The only thing he's ever studied was fightan, and he's some kind of prodigy about that, even among Saiyans.

>>51578314
Vegeta's not dumb as a fucking brick for one.
Which is weird to say that, considering the paragraph right above this one, but nobody's ever going to argue Goku's smart.
But, Vegeta has more to his character anyway. For one thing, he's got his pride as a Saiyan, which is a huge portion of his character, whereas Goku could give two shits.
What's more, despite his attitude, his family actively loves and supports him, whereas Goku's family is... well.
They've got their own lives.

So it's not that much of a leap to say that eventually Vegeta became the proud and noble king of his family, if nothing else.

Also, periodic fuckups do tend to humble a man, whereas Goku generally breezes through most things somehow relatively unscathed.
>>
>>51578078
I actually use OOC powers quite a bit, but since my chain is slowly scaling up in terms of power, the OOC powers are on the same level as the setting I'm entering. For example, I was a Kamen Rider in RWBY, but to be honest, that's pretty much the same general level. I mostly do it just to stand out, though I also do it to cover certain niches that weren't covered in canon. For example, I was a medic in JJBA, healing the other Stardust Crusaders after their more difficult fights. I mean, I fought with them as well, but I was pretty much the only guy who could really work on them medically, so I was the medic. Does that make sense?
>>
>>51578463
Relatively speaking, yeah. I mean, IIRC at one point in the Buu saga doesn't he actually let someone mind control him just because he's scared having a family made him lose his edge? But on the other hand, to be fair he does have the whole royal heritage thing to live up to. Whereas Goku...doesn't really have long-term aspirations beyond training.

Huh. Wouldn't it be an interesting twist for Goku's upbringing on Earth to have, ironically, further enabled his Saiyan heritage. Because he's got nothing to live up to, miss or be bitter over, he has no social expectations. So he simply goes apeshit (no pun intended) crazy over training because that imipresses people on Earth.

>>51578492
>You now have to remain relevant to the plot and keep earth alive

The former sounds REALLY subjective. The latter just seems arbitrarily unfair for any actual villain. I also don't like the idea of the villain background becoming a retired villain-when as a character arc, it seems more fitting for someone to make that choice themselves than have it clumsily showhorned in, especially it vastly limits agency when you're contractually obliged to not be the thing you used to be.

Other than that, I've no problem with the other answers.
>>
>>51578492
Which SS form would you get if you take "Go Further Beyond"?

So you're saying that if you already had godly ki (from Dragon Ball MV or another jump) that you could train and reach SSG or SSGSS?

>>
>>51578492
Man, why would you introduce that fail condition? Nobody even had a problem with the jump lacking one in the past threads. I mean, it's up to you, but there's really no reason to do it.
>>
>>51575286
I usually have the ability to purchase canon companions to mean that you'll get them automatically as a result of spending CP. Depending on setting, it's basically just a guaranteed way to meet them and have them want to join you. For anyone else, like jumps where you can't bring any companions with you, you have to actually go out and track them down and work hard to convince them to give up their lives for possibly millenia in order to travel with you.
>>
>>51578538
>Vegeta became the proud and noble king of his family, if nothing else.
Though he does like to pretend he doesn't care about them still, absolutely everyone, especially Bulma, sees right through it.

>>51578565
>doesn't he actually let someone mind control him just because he's scared having a family made him lose his edge?
Yes, but that was also the end of his character arc.
He fucked up, in an absolutely fucking COLOSSAL manor, just to get his "edge" back.

And what does he do in the end? He realizes his family is more important, saves Trunks, and sacrifices himself to save them.
>>
>>51578468
Pretty much. I mostly jump settings that I like or have read and one of my biggest qualifications on what I use and do in a universe stems from asking myself the question "If I were reading this again and this character that I am showed up and did this, what would I think about it as the reader?" And the answer is usually that overpowering a setting with omnipotence and ridiculous OCPs is pretty boring both from a personal and from an outsider's standpoint. If I solved everybody's problems immediately my entire chain would turn into "JUMPER SAVES THE DAY!" repeated over and over ad infinitum with only minor variation in the details.
>>
>>51578106
In that case, I think I'll subtly worry the Bazaar in response to it leaving out key details about the awful stuff it's doing. I won't tell anyone specifically what kind of non-human I am, either. What kind of effects would this stuff have, assuming I'm otherwise a perfect citizen?

Only referring to prices in Correspondence. Not anything else, just prices. "I'd like to buy three apples. That'll cost Forever hurtling toward the earth, right?"

Occasionally lighting nearby objects on fire during conversation and pretending not to notice.

Refusing to step in front of a mirror unless it's broken. If one isn't broken, I shatter it by saying something horrible in the Correspondence.

The first person to ask me a question about one of the huge mysteries of London will get a completely honest answer. Which could mean naming a city that came before London or something equally dangerous. Except I'll do it in Correspondence, so they won't understand a word of it. If I'm questioned about giving away dangerous knowledge, I'll say I was joking. Then I'll pretend to be surprised. "Are you saying I'm correct?!"

The rest of my time will be spent generally improving things behind the scenes and making an elaborate legal case for why the Bazaar really can love the Sun. Even if that isn't possible. I'm taking the "Your hair turns white. That's a feature" and acting like the weird, inexplicable person who has their hair turned white by linguistics.
>>
>>51578404
Then I think you would want the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex, as it was the final variant of the Unicorn, but it still has the same fatal flaw of exploding in a burst of space magic on contact with another Psycoframe. Though I think that the AMX-107R Rebawoo is similar in stats, and generally a heavier suit, but it doesn't have the Newtype Destroyer system, which is pretty powerful itself but requires you pass a will save to use properly.

That actually makes me curious for a moment.

If Goku is incapable of feeling familial love, what would happen if he suddenly could?

Gravity Falls love potions can apparently come in an variety of love, and that includes familial live.

What if you used that on Goku at the start of DBZ? Does he suddenly start acting like an actual PARENT to Gohan? Does he start trying to be romantic with Chi-Chi?
>>
>>51578565
I believe it was more about Goku returning stronger than ever. Vegeta's been trying to surpass him for years, and now Goku's back even stronger? Despite ALL of Vegeta's hard work? Sure, the family thing played into it, but it was more like "I need to be strong again, like I used to be!". Of course, it did end up with him eventually deciding he cares more about his family and sacrificing himself, so there's that.

That actually makes a lot of sense, funnily enough. Goku ended up becoming a Saiyan paragon because he just decided to do what he most wanted to do. Which makes sense, Saiyan instincts and all that. The funny thing is, he actually ended up stronger because of hitting his head, because being a good guy led him to training with Master Roshi and Kami, which led him to be strong enough to work with Piccolo to beat Raditz at the cost of his life, which led to training with King Kai, which led to...I could go on. But yeah, hitting his head and living on Earth was the best thing that ever happened to him.

I mean, yeah, probably. To be fair, Goku WAS a parent to Gohan up until Raditz showed up. Most of Dragon Ball Z, Goku was either dead, terribly injured, or training to prepare for a new, terrible threat. Even then, he does try to be a dad during the Android/Cell Saga. The infamous Cell thing is because he just didn't understand that Gohan didn't want to fight. Goku and Vegeta are both so obsessed with fighting, Goku just naturally assumed that Gohan was as well. When Piccolo told him the truth, Goku PANICKED, and was visibly horrified. Now, not knowing that is a failure for him as a parent, but again, he is brain damaged. So yeah, giving him the potion would probably just make him a better Dad. As for Chi-Chi...you'll still have to explain to him how romance works, but he'll certainly try.

>>51578078
I tend to do something similar, especially after the scary amount of power I picked up in Forgotten Realms. In most settings I will limit myself to just what I've bought, which can cause a number of problems, but overall forces me to think and develop my new powers and abilities instead of just throwing them onto a pile. Gravity Falls was an excellent lesson, for me, on why tampering with the story of a world can have horrifying consequences. In most cases, it's not really necessary anyways.

There are some settings where going FULL JUMPER is necessary, but those are few and far between.
>>
>>51578733
Well, to reiterate what I just posted: It restricts your agency to create a narrative by forcing you to avoid certain modes of confrontation or cutting lose rather than playing it safe. You yourself realised you had to rewrite the villain origin to fit with that aspect. If it's a question of challenge, given the rather selfish and powerhungry nature of DBZ villains I imagine anyone significant enough to blow up a planet so many people have something vested in would gather a lot of unfriendly attention, and then be hardpressed to survive on their own without the Earth as a safe base-so the way I see it, destroying the Earth/allowing it to be destroyed opens up a new host of challenges.

Relevance to the plot on the other hand restricts you to being a reactive force rather than starting your own plot and going all proactive. In a sense, it's like destiny is stopping you from performing meaningful changes by forcing you to be in a specific place and time rather than pace yourself for when you interact with the most significant events.

Thanks. I just want to say I do appreciate the position you're in, and that right now our resident shitstain's feeling a bit more proactive than usual (must've failed uni badly). So I'm grateful you took the time to read what I wrote when I was worried it might've come out incoherent.

I want to make clear that all I'm doing is expressing my reasoning, not mandating anything. As the jumpmaker, you of course have final say.

>>51578904
I think he'd get a better laugh out of the Training To Beat Goku one.
>>
>>51578078
Every single jump. That said, I usually prefer not to fight at all. When I have to use my powers for whatever reason, I try to keep it as subtle as possible, with the exception of some overt environmental effects. If someone knows I have powers, I've done something wrong. That said, I don't needlessly restrict myself to in-setting abilities when it's necessary to use them.
>>
>>51578891
That just feels overly mastubatory. Really, wouldn't it feel better if you made them realise that you're in a different league, only using the powers provided by the jump?
Also, in many settings you'd be giving people evidence that you're from another dimension, which I generally avoid, as it'll colour interactions with people in a generally negative way.

The worm jump is an exception though. That "Fucking Jumpers" drawback can make for an hilarious story.

Thank you! I'll only do the first one when no one is around and completely ignore the fourth one. I'd like people to think I'm weird and distressing, but in a fun way.

Although in the last few seconds before my Jump ends and I leave London entirely, I'll scare the hell out of everyone. After ten years of improving things, quieting the Revolutionaries, getting rid of the Sorrow Spiders, writing useful love stories, and quietly making Paris an easier target while secretly getting people to move, I'll turn to the Bazaar and use my last few seconds to say goodbye.

My house rule is that I can take anyone willing as a Companion, but if the Jump doesn't strictly allow it:
1. Their power, skills and plot armor get brought down to, at most, those of a marginally badass human (thus I'm encouraged to pick "average" people, which is the way I prefer),
2. I can only have 8 Companions in total, not counting Pods. There are no inactive Companions.

I have a question about the Forgotten Realms jump. Is there anything stopping me taking Artificer as my class? Is this a fanwank thing where I self justify being taught by anow Artificer from another world or something?
>>
>>51579207
Aren't most of the main characters hundreds of years old? Just say that the the jumper starts off at newbie Saiyan/whatever levels like Bayonetta did, and you actually have to train to reach the levels they attained through training.
>>
>>51578733
>Are they necessary? Maybe. I think that they are, but I'd like to hear an argument for why they should go.

People are going to ignore them and just say that they did or simply ignore the jump. They don't add anything.

“May I ask why?” I found myself sitting next to an man before a massive orchard with peach trees and pink petals floating in a slight breeze, and all my powers, varied and myriad, held in a chain of some sort of bronze alloy which the man held in a single hand. I felt calm even without my powers but I was still curious.

“Origins can be forgotten, young one,” the man said lightly and I found myself nodding at that, “a reminder to the tiger that once it was a cub and that dragons still roam the skies is sometimes needed to keep a heart from growing overly arrogant. Be humble.”

“I can see the wisdom in walking humble upon the land.” And in truth I could see the truth in his words. A sage could become enraptured in his knowledge if he never looked outside to the wider world. I pushed myself up and smiled as the man draped the chain across his chest like a great set of heavy beads. “What will you be doing with that anyway?”

“A wise man can see opportunity where there are few, a smart man can make do with little and need less, a strong man can hold greater burdens, a fast man can save time, and many other things.” He spoke with a serene smile upon his face. I nodded and walked away from my power, my knowledge, my will, my crutches, my canes, my tools, and the chain that I’d created to this point. I left it all behind and walked away through the streets of Heaven with shoulders relaxed.

I think I'll go to World of Cultivation for my Jump 071 if Aion can confirm it's Jumpable, but first Harvest Moon.

One thing I like about the art surrounding that arc so far is that in every pic, 18 is standing next to Krillin and while everyone else is staring off screen or at the viewer looking all tough, she's just glancing down at her husband and smiling thinking about how cute he is when he acts tough.

Ok here is an example cultivation method based off the mc at one point in the story

Example cultivation method.

Body cultivator 30 pts
Body free
Sword 25

Effects
Permanent tempering 1 (free)

Construct1 20 points(flaming water wave)
Elemental enhancement ×2 16 points (fire and water)
AoE x3

(Together to make an area around my body and my weapon be covered in a flaming construct made of water)

Charge x2 10 points
(My main attack can be charged to do more damage)

Abnormal physical mutation 1 6 points (breathe through skin)

Temperature immunity 1 1point

Cultivation method:
Meditation free

Aesthetics
Sound 1 0 points (creates an area of silence)
Light 1 -1 (the water glows)

Skin smoothing, beauty enhancing 1 -4 points

Side effects
Deadly Teaching requirements 0 points

Basically this boosts the body of the person and their sword, over time making them both stronger and allowing both my body and my weapon (which was my second focus) slowly become immune to extreme temperatures as I cultivate. Abnormal physical mutation allows me to filter air through my skin (something done by the mc)) to survive under water.

My attacks cause a construct that looks like fire but is made of water to appear around me and my sword in a large area thanks to the purchases of aoe. The attacks can be charged to create a stronger attack with either my sword or my body (body cultivators generally use their fists)

The downside is this cultivation technique is dangerous to learn requiring the person who wants to learn it to undergo extreme heat before plunging themselves under water and staying there till the heat passes.

The area around my scontructed attack is silent giving off no sound but pitting out a soft glow.

>>
>>51580506
In that case, you should probably get some sleep, or even just lay on a bed/couch/whatever. It should help.

Also, um...if you don't mind me asking, does Turtle Style and Kamehameha actually give you knowledge on how to use those? Like, would you actually know the Turtle Style and be able to use the Kamehameha?
>>
>>51580494

>>
>>51579512

>>
>>51580325
It is possible to slowly alter cultivation methods if you study enough or if you know of other cultivation methods that are similar. However doing so is often dangerous and generally not something you do without a lot of research. Younare working with lots of energy here and changing how it does stuff within your body is ahat it basically amounts to.

>>51580450
Ling vein seed just makes a vein of ling energy ore sprout underground wherever you place it, the ling pool is an actual indoor location that you could store stuff in if you want and can act as a sort of hide out.

It also has a ling pool in it which is useful for growing ling beasts in or just drinking from if you want.
>>
>>51580531
It's only worrisome if you think of it as a human being. On my end I hope he descends into madness and ends up in a primitive asylum where he's abused and tortured by the staff.

So… not real sure what is going on here but I am a version of Aquaman (Aquagirl?) that doesn’t suck so… I have decided to go exploring under the ocean since I can to Sea what I can Sea. Honestly while odd these creatures seem friendly and it’s kind of interesting to see the world under the waves.

I got to swim with dolphins and Sharks… strangely the sharks really wanted to play cards for some reason. It was… interesting. By the way never play cards with sharks… I lost a lot of money doing that.

Journal Entry # 25001

I actually found a crab named Sabastian. Unfortunately he was grump, lacked the accent and hated singing. All in all it was kind of a disappointment. I am kind of thinking of going back on land. I mean I have had dozens of misadventures here but there really isn’t much that needs doing. Being a superhero you think you would be fighting super villains not hanging around with well fish and things.

Good news is though I have been able to plunder enough sunken ships I shouldn’t have any money worries from now on in my chain. Though I did have to fight some pirate fish for it, not even sure what the deal was there.

Not the best way to battle the shitposter, by showing him that you care. Every time the little fool reads you (or someone like you) prohibiting and chiding others, he gets a little warm feeling.

I can't imagine that you want that, so stop overreacting. Reserve your reaction when things go too far, not before. Otherwise, see above.

>>
>>51580950
It is possible though honestly I have no idea how the two would interact. Fanwank that one please.

It lets you take an enchantment (of whatever kind it doesnt have to be spirit based) and break it down so you can study how it works then create it again in pieces. Kinda like that pot in journey to the west that lets you see how magic items are made?

So say you have a ring of invisibility this would let you study it to find out how it makes people invisible and make another version later while also letting more than one person work on it at once to split the work load of making the copy.

>>

What I meant was that being reduced to a crawl is too much for the type of constant training such a thing would be best used for.

Damn, well thanks for the answer.

No it can only fly as a sword under normal circumstances.

Star Wars Original Trilogy has the heavy chassis for a ship. That's 45-50 metres long. Not the biggest but still pretty big.

He's way less mass scale bloodthirsty then the last battalion. He'd totally fight anyone like Anderson if he thought they could kill him but he wouldn't randomly slaughter cities.

Dahak Chronicles can get you a ship the size of the moon at its base.

The Asgard is bigger than the Moon, actually. The titular ship is from a smaller class, and it is moon sized.

You appear to have two flying sword import options an individual option and an upgrade for the flying sword option.

How good is the Flying Sword? Will it remain a good weapon at higher levels of cultivation?

Anon, you don't get hundreds of thousands of souls (even prior absorbing most of London) without doing some serious massacring.

The guy devoured people in the hundreds or thousands through all ages.

That's because he fucked up a Turkish army because one of them raped him as a child and then went ham on any armies sent after him.

I do indeed have two options for flying swords. The two are basically the same, they will be a match for your cultivation method one just comes free as a sword xiu with optional ugrade. Although you could always upgrade to a new flying sword the one you buy will always be a good high quality weapon especially if you use it as your focus.

You choose the mutation when you take the option. It does not change later.

Anyone else having problems with large portions of the screen blacking out randomly?

>WW2 soldiers
>Turkish soldiers
>His own soldiers
>European knights
