PM MauledByTigers and see if you can substitute in this late. We already had one dropout in Rookies and he's playing a dummy team in it's place; so you might be able to take that slot.
There is only 1 confirmed drop out right now. Also a reminder that if anyone wants to join the season it isn't too late. Just message Mauled about replacing his substitute team on fumbbl.
So I have been playing my first skaven team ever, and they feel like fucking easy mode.
My first game was 2-0 not conceded, and I was 1-0 at turn 8 on the oppostions half before he conceded. I never read the plasmoid guide and I started with a Rat Ogre. And I'm pretty much retarded at this game
I can say skaven are pretty much a good crutch
>Well you are right about the not so smart thing
I thought they looked cool
Is it a bad idea to get tenticals on the Goyumcrusher9k? he never loses his zones, was thinking that or juggernauht
Horns isn't actually the worst thing for a GR, but there are better skills like block and such. I wouldn't get tentacles since you already have PTail. Just wait and see what you get first so you can pray for block.
I guess you can't not take + st but that is so weird on a skaven thrower, because he isn't a ball carrier like other throwers.
Nothing wrong with horns if he gets wrestle/strip ball or wrestle/tackle
Big hands or long legs could have been an option, but he is better off waiting for a +ag
Also foul appearance is wasted on a first level because who cares if he dies at 6 spp?
Also horns stack with +st, dauntless doesnt.
Horns on a GR is fine. You give him Strip Ball and Wrestle after that and he'll reliably dodge into cages to spring the ball free. ST3 on the blitz will allow you to pull 1d blitzes in a cage so long as you remove the assists.
>I guess you can't not take + st but that is so weird on a skaven thrower, because he isn't a ball carrier like other throwers.
I said the same thing, was thinking of getting dodge, but how do you say no to +STR
Yea, Idk if I would even bother with dodge. He basically exists to assist with 1 turns and to protect against strip ball and most guys who get strip ball (gutter runners, war dancers, witch elves, and human blitzers) will often pick up tackle
>Last seen 8 days ago
is this an epic new meme
MrWrite PM'd me yesterday, but he hasn't got back to my reply yet.
One slight problem my rookies are scheduled to play tonight, so we could do with a speedy substitute. I'll play the game if we get no one.
PM me on FUMBBL (same name).
If suppertime isn't on by tomorrow morning, I'll kick him to give whoever replaces him a chance to play over the weekend.
Fuck off colonial bogan scum this isn't some kind of convict league.
Aye, I'm just waiting on him to get back to me.
So, next year for my local league I'm thinking of Slaan. What's an optimal starting team for them?
I've been seeing a couple of people touting a Krox-3 Catcher - 4 ReRoll build, but some people suggest one less reroll and an extra Catcher.
Wat does /BBG/ think?
You can score if you believe
I failed atleast 5 2+ dodges in the first half. Shit sucked.
My Purchasing priorities will basically be this:
3) 4th Catcher
4+) More Blitzers.
Also praying to the gods for reasonable injury rolls, and remembering not to just hand catchers to the other team on a fucking plate to blitz and chainfoul.
Am i retarded? I already proposed this and was kind of ignored is this stupid and i don't get why? Why don't you simply set aside with your filler team? This way with your opponent plays suppertime's opponent and we are even again.
Because what he listed actually opens up new plays, while dostirbing presence only means sometimes you might maybe not get blocked,it's not that bad, but definitely not such a great skill
Because I can only replace teams, not remove them entirely. And I can't change the schedule for two teams already drawn to play each other.
And I couldn't change the schedule so two teams actually in it play each other.
Right, we don't have two replacements right now, so my Wissenburg White Lions are to take on the Wurld's Ej Face Fumpers.
I will have a replacement for I Donut Know Anymore soon though.
>tfw you spend more time on getting the heraldry of the filler team right than your own
It was flukey really, the Dirty Trick card first half and the POW on 1 dice second changed everything.
Anyway, observant Amorical Football fans will notice that the Mordheim Manglers are in to play the Caged Maniacs. If any of the people who were interested reply, they can take the place of my filler humans.
pictured: coach gantherogue moments after his ogre bc within TD range boneheads
>tfw quit my lab job and got my teaching licence
>tfw substitute teaching is comfy as fuck
>tfw in March all the old teachers die or retire and I will be able to teach and have a blood bowl club filled with students
There is a teacher at the high school I sub who has a D&D club. He also owns a bunch of swords and does HEMA. When I attended the school he was considered the hot teacher. IMO he looks the same as he ever did so I don't see why he thinks he isn't anymore.
I actually think Blood Bowl is honestly a great lunchtime/after school activity. It's a very hands-on way to teach probability and also teaches kids how to handle really severe turns of luck.
It's much less GM-dependent than roleplaying too so it's a lot more scaleable in terms of school /tg/ activities.
I will have nothing but time soon as I got made redundant at work last week. I've got a few weeks before I go, but my days are pretty sparse in terms of work, can't start any new projects, handing off my old projects that I won't finish.
It sucks, but I haven't had a holiday in about 3 years.
>mfw I left my lab without properly training anyone on how to do my work because fuck them
kek my replacement tries to call me every time the instrument fucks up and I haven't answered once
Is it worth carrying a second thrower on a human team in place of a lineman? On the one hand it would be a second sure hands and leader access for only 20K more (The price of sure hands). On the other hand, humans do carry 3 rerolls and have 4 block so they aren't usually hurting for rerolls for moving the ball.
Evening lads. Boss deffloot captain of the Vintage Vets reporting in. A recent snow storm hit New England and my Internet (but not power or heat) is out. My game with Crab is tommorow at 2 and supposedly Verizon is going to fix it, but I don't know when. If there is any delays i will keep you guys posted. Worst case I go to my buddies house to play with a possible delay. Pic related
>That feel when you're going through the stats for your leagues website and find your 4 season old Necromantic team is 3rd for Casualties Received
>Then you do some checking and realise that all but 10 of those you regen rolled.
>68 out of 78 times
...it's things like this that take the wind out of my argument that undead teams should be able to straight up buy an Igor, not just as inducements.
I just wish my dice could be that consistent elsewhere.
I think it is in general not so useful, but for example i once had my thrower get +ma and used him basically as blitzer even in defence, it was nice to have another thrower in case that one was off the pitch for the attack drive
The only reason I could see is to have a spare Sure Hands player if you're in something bash heavy and you're worried your main thrower gets taken out, you're worried about Strip Ball, or if you're looking to farm up a +AG Thrower.
If any of those three apply, then go for it, but keep in mind Leader isn't a really big deal since as you note humans have plenty of rerolls, and humans generally rely on having a cheap bench. That extra 20k for Sure Hands is almost half a new lineman; or for the same TV as the thrower you could get a lineman with Block or Wrestle who is arguably more all-round useful.
Afternoon lads. Vintage Vets here. Verizon and the electric company are dragging thier asses. Still no Internet, have to push back the game a bit. Shouldn't be too late. Looking to see which of my friends is available. I'll keep you guys posted. I would message you Crab but my phone doesn't work with fumbbl messenger.
If it better for all Nurgle Warriors to go
Block>Guard>MB>Claw in that order?
Or would it be better to go
or some variation of that?
please people, stop advocating against MB, it's a great skill, that helps you both win games and level up your players faster, which is good in perpetual and a priority in normal leagues. MB is great, don't assert the opposite just for contrarianism
Its great, Its amazing, Its overpowered, But its not FUN. I hate it with a passion simply because every team takes it because theres zero reason not to load it up on every piece.
Fuck if I know, public opinions has never been an interest, I like them cause you have Bull Centaurs that are the unholy amalgam of a runners/blitzers/big guy, Solid blockers and cheap as dirt hobgoblins.
because dorfs play the same all the time. their one interesting unit is slayers, otherwise its just slow grind no fun zones. I also still hate them from when they had 40k RRs. Chorfs are the "better" team overall though due to having more speed/options.
Dwarfs are the best early on. Chorfs have better growth potential.
If your wimmins looked like this, you'd have great growth potential too.
>tfw half playing against a chaos team that has 500 more TV than you on BB2 figuring you are going to lose and just restart your rookie team anyway.
>yfw you realize on turn 15 they dont have enough movement, even with GFIs to make it to the end zone to tie the game
feels good man
Every team except Humans, Skaven, Orcs, and Khemri. Most teams in the game don't start with Sure Hands. And Strip ball is a massive help against S4 carriers like Bull Centaurs or Chaos Warriors.
It's definitely not the worst skill to take on a Blitzer early and can clinch a few games for you if you're playing smart.
>Orcs aren't going to be diving or leaping into cages. Strip ball is really an elf or skaven skill
You say it like the cage is always present around the ball carrier in perfect condition.
Sometimes the cage is not perfect and you can get to hit the ball carrier with 1-die block. Having a 2/3, or even a 5/6 chance to take the ball away from him is a great advantage.
Strip Ball can be pretty important based on the composition of the league I feel. Assuming your Blitzer has block and a reroll available you can even throw -2db against and still have solid odds of knocking a ball loose. And against Blodge it works well - sure, Tackle raises the odds of a knockdown which helps in recovery, but there's something to be said for simply springing the ball loose and then piling tackle zones on it.
that's because the other player made a mistake though, having a shot at the ball is not such a comon thing and if you are gettting only a 1d "desperate" blitz chances are you can't choose which player will do the blitz, so you would need the stripper in the right position and your enemy to do a mistake and or be very unlucky to use the skill, even then the opponent might have sure hands and you might end up not needing strip ball because you got 2 or 6 on the block. It's not absolutley useless, but it's really niche
>vets still have 2 games to play to start new week
>none of them is scheduled
4 hours until 13,5 Elfen in Zamonien vs River Styx Runners.
Can the Underworlders pull off another defense or will the Dark Elves send their opposition into early retirement? Tune into Cabalvision later today to find out.
Hah it's not even sub-zero temperatures here.
where the fuck is my winter america you stole it
But I have no clue where my opponent is, hasn't been online for 4 days and missed the three times we already tried to schedule so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Both coaches have showed up early, it is happening now!
match is over with a solid 2-1 in favour of the elves, i believe today we showed how versatile our luck is with this very close and fun win where we had to rely on elf bulllshit rather than wiping the field off of the enemies. Well played Sacks
>Second match with dorf team in BB2
>match against 1500 chaos
>Get wizard and bazooka dorf.
>Fireball kills a goat and a chaos warrior.
>Injure 2 more goats with blocks.
>Attempts a mad dash to end zone.
>Concedes when ballhander gets pow'd.
More importantly, a longbeard rolled dub 5's. Should I give him diving tackle or dodge?
Tempted to ignore it because it is gonna be my first guard.
Chop: A player dodging into any of this players tackle zones takes an additional -1 to the dodge roll.
Roll: When this player is blocked (not blitzed) roll a d6, On a roll of 1 2 or 3 nothing happens, on a roll of 4 5 or 6 the player may treat the block result as if a push was rolled.
Lunging Tackle: If this player performed no actions in the last turn, He exerts double tackle zones. So instead of 1 around him, it becomes 2.
Heave: This player may attempt a Throw Teammate action on any teammate at a -2 Modifier to the pass. This is never accurate and scatters an additional time compared to TTM. The player thrown recieves a -2 to the landing aswell.
Overpower: Instead of a block, This player may attempt to overpower the opponent causing a Str test, Adding his own str and removing his opponents str from the roll. If successful the opponent is placed prone in his square and armor is rolled as normal.
Diving Block: This player may attempt to throw a standard block at a range of +1 tiles, But will be placed prone nomatter the result of the block. Cannot be used without a clear path (I/e, Not over the corner of a cage but possible from the sides)
What's the best third singles skill for a human thrower?
First two singles are obviously block accurate
first two dubs are dodge then guard
Is it best to go with leader, kick off return, or fend?
You seem to be building a runner/thrower
People usually take either dodge block fend, maybe accurate, or accurate strong arm.having all these skills opens up more plays, but wastes a lot of tv since you only need one.
You can build how you want, just wanted to make sure you knew
Made a high elf team but haven't used them yet.
Currently play humans. Have tried but didn't like dorfs (to slow), orcs (also slow), chaos (meme team that skills too slow, and also is kind of slow) Wood elves, (need more armor), brets (meme team).
Not super keen on skaven for too little armor and not enough blitzers, Dark Elves don't have st access or a big guy. Fuck lizards on principle.
Currently trying to chose a second and potentially third team from between High Elves, Undead, Necro, and Nurgle. I have a high elf made in BB2, waiting till I have my current humans squad leveled up a bit more. Other three will all be made when added to BB2.
Humans only going to skill up blitzers and maybe thrower orgre and or catcher if one is really good. Blitzers only need guard, MB and maybe tackle or piling on.
Eh if you can pick up a + stat on a thrower it wouldn't be too bad.
I don't think accurate is too bad of a skill on a human team considering how throwing is a thing you may need to do vs strong teams and for two turns. Obviously you wouldn't really wanna have a human thrower with like 4 single skills. Granted though you can give him leader and drop a reroll for a 30K savings if you really need it.
I generally start with 2 throwers and cut one as soon as the other stat ups or they get to 16 spp
Why are you telling me what hunans nee o skill up? I know that, that's why they excel at low tv as i said
Also don't try high elves if you think delves aren't bashy enough,it feels like you might enjoy undead
Accurste is probably the single best and most versatile skill you could gove a thrower since,as i said both kinds benefit from it somewhat. What ieant was not to try getting both dodge and strong arm which seem redunant.(also accurate on throwers is good on paper, but i feel it's still too dangerous to pass with ag3 catchers)
Longest Bomb: May make a pass at any range for a -4 penalty to the roll. Enemies recieve +1 to intercept.
Very Long Arms: This player may pass, catch, intercept and pickup the ball from one tile further than normal. If the player possesses diving catch, They may catch the ball if it lands within 2 tiles of them instead of just one. However, they have a -1 to all Pass Catch Intercept or Pickup rolls.
Showoff: The player may take an additional action during any turn, But will be sent off the ref for showboating after that action.
Blitz: This player is so fast, If you use him to blitz as your first action, You will not use your blitz action for the turn. However the player will recieve a -1 to his Strength for the blitz due to lack of time to prepare.
Poor Sport: After any drive ends, This player may make an armor roll for one opponent player, If armor is broken the injury receives a +1 modifier. Regardless of success the player using this skill will be suspended for the rest of the match (Sent off by ref)
Clean Player: This player may not attempt any foul actions, But whenever a enemy attempts to foul them they will be sent off both on any doubles, And any consequitive numbers (1-2 2-3 so on)
Clean Player fluff: The referee has his eye on the player, Hes too clean. This is bloodbowl, What kind of player doesn't even attempt to stomp on a downed opponent? Due to the extra close watch, anyone attempting to foul them will undoubtedly also fall under the referees gaze.
Yeah I go for dodge not strong arm. On a second doubles I would take guard.
You can play rule of 5 with humans and still have a moderate TV. Also blood bowl 2 is easiest in the 1800 TV range, because that's where all the retards who can't manage bloat play.
If you get a +ma catcher you can play at higher TVs and carry a thrower who has accurate, leader, and maybe kick off return
>Blitz: This player is so fast, If you use him to blitz as your first action, You will not use your blitz action for the turn. However the player will recieve a -1 to his Strength for the blitz due to lack of time to prepare.
This doesn't make any sense, because it means the player would ideally be a higher Strength player to begin with.
Might be better to inflict a movement penalty on the Blitz instead.
Hi guys, I made a thing, which I have already uploaded to the Pitch Template imgur at http://imgur.com/a/BzEqA. I made this for anyone who uses Frenzy players, I wasn't sure what to write for the Danger part of it, and it might be shit.
Ok, I have finished with the request, and I made an alternate as well because fuck it.
Same with my humans, I played 3 games, strangely all against woodies, lost all 3. Just didn't get any luck with injury rolls, fouled one guys wardancers into oblivion but couldn't get more than a stun. Did kill a tree though which made me feel pretty good.
LLLLLAAAADIES AND GENTLEMEN, the next performance of the Talabheim Buffoons commences in one hour, 5pm servertime! We are told that they will be joined in the big top by one of the most famous and prolific performers of our time, MR NICHOLAS CAGE! Just how can one man stand up to eleven clowns? I'm not sure myself, buy your tickets now to find out!
opponent's team at a staggering 30TV
One dead (and turned into another Cage), a couple Badly Hurt and a Smashed Hand. Helpful clown apothecary offered to kill him instead of putting it in a cast. I was well outplayed, although I'm definitely pissed off about the banana peel stopping my Witch Elf scoring in the final turn of the first half.
And again i fucked up, but i believe the effort was there. Just really sad i didnt made a pass attempt in the last turn (Crendor'd it essentially) and the last death->death apo was just icing on the cake. At least i did kill a dwarf.
Oh alright. Yeah we have blizzard conditions in spots close to me. Im the game who got delayed due to a branch knocking out my internet.
As for ayylmao I know he is west coast. Don't think they have any snow right now
Don't know when we are ready to play, might come in later this evening depending on the opponent and my schedule. Will announce it right here, but timezones screw everything up (europy vs NY timezone difference)
