Remaking this thread frombecause bump limit and updated torrent

Every book you will ever need, and even more you wont. Also has a ton of rpg manuals:
10 Gib .Mobi E-Book Collection:
15gib .Epub format Ebooks:
10 gibs of pdf files:
Ebooks, Miscelenanios. Ever folder in here is organized how I feel it should be:
last part of collection. the rpg manual collection. the biggest part of them all:
I am the Ebook Anon, and just a heads up: the magnet link to 'all the books you'd ever need..." will not work. I couldnt get that torrent to function properly so I divided what the collection would be into the 5 ebook torrents below it on the list.
Gotta say, I love the idea of this information 'snowball' thats always growing larger as more people add to it. I haven't seen how the 100gb torrent looks like on the inside but I think we may need to start organzing and moderating this collection to improve its quality.
as far as I am aware there are only 17 textbooks in my collection. they are in the 'Djvu' folder (the djvu format is a unique ebook format for textbooks.) So its safe to say what you are looking for wont be in it.
I cant vouch for the 100gig everything you need to know torrent. Iam not the anon who compiled it.
Damn Anon! Vegas Anon here. Just got back and was ready to get down and combine all the folders but none of them finished. The most I got was 58.1% on the PDF folder. Will continue to download. Hope you keep seeding dude. This will be worth it!
Sorry man. luckily some of the peers are already past the 50% marker and the smallest torrent has someone at 97% (but no seeders) I had someone else finish that download but never seeded it.
the 10 gig is all .Mobi format while the 15 gig is all .Epub format. they are weird formats since they are very similar (its easy to convert one to the other) they were divided this way due to many ereaders only taking one or the other. There will be huge similarities between the two torrents since they are divisions of my larger collection. If you are looking to not have duplicates then I suggest the Epub format since I've added more to it alone since its the main format my own ereader used.
Ebook anon here, I was wondering if it would be best to use the 'superseeding' option in my client. I looked it up, and although it seems useful, it doesn't seem to help people's download speed of the torrent itself.
If Vegas Anon is reading this, I have noticed that several peers have completed the smaller ebook compilation and pdf collection. Sadly none of them have seeded these, but more importantly I am wondering which ones you have completed downloading. If neceseery I can limit my upload rate of one torrent to increase the speed of another.
>bridge for dummies
WHO THE FUCK GIVES A SHIT ABOUT THAT
Yo Ebook, Vegas Anon here. Just got back from Sin City tired but no worse for the wear. Looks like I was right. PDF folder has finished so I'm now seeding that. Seems the Mobi folder will be finishing next, its at 68.2% and trickling in. Epub and RPG are at 53.5% and 27%. So it seems things are moving along well if a bit slowly.
Good to hear Vegas-sama. I'll mess around with settings to help get the other torrents finished.
I am not able to download the 100 gig version. what changes have been made? Also, is there anything that is 'lacking' in the collection. If so I can do some side research to see what can be added.
secondly. this collection is getting so large we may have to start worrying about cleaning it up and organizing it. What organizational methods should we use and is their a prefered way?
Organization and cataloging, now that's be one hell of a job given this entire thing is full of virtually all of mankind's logic thrown in the pot. I wanna try my hand at it though, maybe while getting feedback from another anon for constructive criticism, and vise versa. Anyone interested in cataloging this bad boy?
ebook anon here. I have no problem helping out with that after finishing with these torrents.
cataloging at this point might be the most difficult part, so I think we should focus on organization and 'cutting the fat'. For example, we dont need a cookbook pdf in two different folders (but we may want access to that pdf to be seen, so maybe never have a duplicate of a document but have shortcut files in other folders if there is a need for it.
we should also see if there are any gaps in the collection
15gb Epub is about 96% complete will seed once done.
>the one guy who's 100% that everyone is downloading from
Ebook Anon here, a bunch of peers finished the epub torrent. if I am currect in guessing Vegas anon should only have the RPG manual torrent and the 4 gig ebook compilation torrent left. can I get confirmation on this?
also I've been having troubles trying to start the 100gig torrent.
Vegas Anon here. I finished the Epub and it looks like I already finished the 4Gb Compilation so just waiting on the RPG Manuals. Sitting at 40.3% but for some reason I'm having trouble finding peers. I'll fiddle with it a bit and hopefully connect. Everything else is seeding away.
Ebook Anon here. A bunch of peers are at 87 percent in the rpg torrent, so it should be done soon. Also I still cannot download the newest ETYNTKE torrent. it still says 'Downloading Metadata"
Yo Ebook, Vegas Anon here. I've finished downloading all the sets and will continue to seed. I spent all last night trying to make a viable torrent out of the folders with no success. I'm beginning to see why you were having trouble in the first place. Every time I create the torrent it ends up being a mammoth 15mb+ .torrent file. None of my clients can even load it. I've tried fiddling with the piece sizes and a few other tricks but the smallest I've gotten it down to is 15.4mb. I know creating it is possible and its not a size or volume problem as the EYNTKE torrent is bigger and contains more files/folders. I think the problem stems from both the long file and folder names. Like:
>EBYWENATS\Ebooks Compilation\History Book Collection\MOBI\A Fiery Peace in a Cold War_ Bernard Schriever and the Ultimate Weapon - Neil Sheehan/Neil Sheehan - A Fiery Peace in a Cold War_ B_pon (v5.0).mobi
I'll be honest, I'm not sure I can combine these all into a single torrent without renaming a large portion of the files/folders. For now I'll keep seeding while I look for a solution that doesn't require everyone to rename or redownload a bunch of files.
I am not sure how to fix this either, it feels weird that file names would be the issue here. Would breaking EYNTKE into big blocks like a "core collection" a "Book Collection" a "documentary" torrent.
Does anyone else have difficulties when trying to download large torrents in qBittorrent?
Before it starts downloading, it gets to a message saying "Retrieving metadata" and it stays that way for hours. If I skip it and start the download, it doesn't do anything and doesn't even show the content's size.
now iam confused. I am the ebook anon who made the huge collection and split it into big parts.
if you're willing to help with organization that would help a bunch. Right now I need suggestions on organization. So far I divided most of it by format for ease of putting mass collections into Ereaders, but I know many may not like that way.
if there is someway to mass catalogue all of them that will help, but I dont know the way.
Also, finding a way to trim the fat of both the ebook collection and the original "Everything you need to know" collection, that would also help.
Wow. First, thanks!
finally got the file list for the epubs- not really usable until some categorization is emplaced. Maybe by author and unknown? should be relatively easy with a filesystem but not doable with my torrent client.
Epub ebook anon. If I used calabre to make this all a catalogue, would that create a series of folders for all the files, so then I can just put the folders into a torrent and people have the orginaized files without needed calabre themselves?
Epub EBook anon here, currently putting all my ebooks through calibre, and trying to make a more organized collection without duplicates. when its done it should have an organized file structure.I am not sure how to deal with the rpgbooks and files in the collection. I might just manually put them out of the author based organization and put them in its own rpg folder.
Like the Tom Kane workshop, how does it work?
seems to be an issue with the .torrent itself. Seems to grab a list of trackers and peers no issue in Deluge but still no progress. Maybe the long file name they were talking about above.
There's been a lack of evidence showing otherwise, but considering that solid state storage can be worn down, I wouldn't risk it. This is referring to eMMC storage on mobile devices though, SSDs meanwhile are OK to torrent on
guys i was downloading the main torrent and this happened
it was about 98% done....
please help, pic related
Sorry in advance for piggybacking on this thread, but on the other hand, I'd rather not bump something off.
Anyway, if you have bit torrent sync, the following secret will let you access just under 50 gigs of ebooks I've collected over the years.
Goddammit was downloading the big 100g one on uTorrent and it was pissing me off, crashing and playing ads and garbage so I deleted it for qbTorrent, now at 0% again :(
and it won't download at all. Says I got peers but no movement. Trying other clients, but like others asked a repost might be lovely.
Anyway, can anyone please rehost the 100GB one? I've tried like 5 different cilents and none of them work
Hey guys I'm very new to torrenting, just downloaded utorrent, what am I doing as I am VERY interested in downloading this tonight.
Though using Deluge for quite some time now, but I never got behind that thing. What is this honeypot shit behind utorrent?
afaik they are owned by bittorrent, whom have gone greedy on the search to monetanize the bittorrent-system.
If someone seeded the Every book you will ever need + more, I'll seed when finished
Man, I just watched Everything is Terrible (The Movie). Anyone know where to find of video list names? I laughed to death in nooowbie scene learn how to surf the Internet. The woman looks like Erin Richard.
I would help you, but I don't have any room left on my phone.
I believe Anon was referring to this torrent.
>Every book you will ever need, and even more you wont. Also has a ton of rpg manuals:
I've been trying to seed this one but I don't have the torrent file and can't seem to get past the meta data. I've got the files but no way to share them short of creating a new magnet.
I cant seem to get the main torrent to load. I am using qbittorrent 3.23, added the magnet link an it been trying to get the meta data for the last 7 hours.
I tried searching google and was only able to find an old version that is 42GB.
what should I do anons?
Interested in this as well. Creating torrents with dupes and allowing them to load unorganized eats more space than people think.
I am down to help.
>bamp because knowledge
So everything you need to know right? is htere any secret society epubs pdf videos etc? like freemasonry, thelema, golden shrine, skull and bones etc, i want to read that shit, the more hte better.
Downloaded the big and having a lot fun looking throw it. I think there might be time for an update. Wiki dump is way out of date, the cooking section sucks, and I think the lit section is worthless.
Should we organize by image/books/audio ?or topic with with folders for each major media type?
I kinda want to put all the illegal stuff in it's own section.
should we go hardcore and reorganize with the dewey decimal system? Is DDC still useful?
What else should add?
>The Dewey Decimal Classification organizes library materials by discipline or field of study. Main divisions include philosophy, social sciences, science, technology, and history. The scheme is made up of ten classes, each divided into ten divisions, each having ten sections.
>000 – General works, Computer science and Information
>100 – Philosophy and psychology
>200 – Religion
>300 – Social sciences
>400 – Language
>500 – Pure Science
>600 – Technology
>700 – Arts & recreation
>800 – Literature
>900 – History & geography
The categories might be too narrow.
Library of Congress system might be better
i think you are right . The more I read about the Library of Congress Classification the more I prefer it over the Dewey Decimal Classification.
So far I got all the other libraries within the collection (the enlighten gentlemen's library) taken apart and put in their right folders.
So this is what I am thinking:
>>organized by some classification
>>organized by some classification
>>organized by some classification
that seems good. To tell you the truth I haven't downloaded it myself, and I don't know what it looks like inside.
The problems you might run into, depending upon the content of the images, is making your own system for classifying them and the audio.
Talking to a librarian friend and looking at my local library they seem to use loc for non-fiction and alphabetical plus genre tags on the spin.
The audio will probably be same as the books.
I haven't looked into how people formally organize images but I think we could keep the original 4chan library structure.
The inside was really messy with a few libraries within the main library.
Why the fuck are they closing?
in the USA? Are they the state funded libraries?
They should really keep them around because they provide services such as computer/Internet for one hour, art exhibits and events in a spare room. They also host a community market in the plaza/parking lot every week.
They provide invaluable services in addition to being a collection books. You should consider helping them to not close.
My local library has a small bookstore that sells books people donate or rejects from the library to help keep itself afloat.
Heres the magnet for a 55GB library of shit some asshat just posted. I believe it consists mostly of the stuff from the very first, now defunct 45GB 'Everything You Need To know Ever' torrent. If you've got the 100GB torrent chances are you've got all this shit already.
>55GB Everything You Need To Know Ever
>Cool Tools is a highly curated selection of the best tools available for individuals and small groups. Tools include hand tools, maps, how-to books, vehicles, software, specialized devices, gizmos, websites -- and anything useful. Tools are selected and presented in the book if they are the best of kind, the cheapest, or the only thing available that will do the job. This is an oversized book which reviews over 1,500 different tools, explaining why each one is great, and what its benefits are. Indirectly the book illuminates the possibilities contained in such tools and the whole catalog serves an education outside the classroom. The content in this book was derived from ten years of user reviews published at the Cool Tools website, cool-tools.org
just added this to the update to the library I have been working on. Things are going slowly but they are going.
I have been taking out a lot of the bullshit like the magical and conspiracy stuff. Anyone against that?
Honestly I'm against taking out anything that isn't a dupe. If our aim is truly 'Everything You Need to Know Ever' then I believe all knowledge should be included. Course its your version of the Lib so do as you will
I would personally keep them in separate folders with a disclaimer. If a person knew nothing about them and then read some of the conspiracies then they could learn the basic tropes and ideas that go behind the 'conspiracies' It might be a good history lesson if real conspiracies are in there like the WMDs in Iraq, one of the Gulf of Tonkin reports or Guy Fawkes.
The magic stuff might be of some value if tied to the beliefs common to people historically.
That torrent is just the one I, the OP of the previous thread posted.
It is completely obsolete because it is contained within the larger libraries that have been posted.
Since those are better in every way I have stopped seeding my original torrent.
I think you are right anon. I will make a folder for the bullshit with a disclaimer and include material that give it an useful context.
If you see anything missing or you think should be included please mentioned that here or email me at 4chanlibrariancat at gmail dot com
>The Knowledge by Lewis Dartnell
>If our technological society collapsed tomorrow, perhaps from a viral pandemic or catastrophic asteroid >impact, what would be the one book you would want to press into the hands of the postapocalyptic survivors? >What crucial knowledge would they need to survive in the immediate aftermath and to rebuild civilization as >quickly as possible—a guide for rebooting the world?
That's is the plan!
Also whats a good xml dump reader? I have been trying dfferent stuff to look at wikipedida dumbs.
Does the library have programming books? I would love a website or place to go to submit pdfs for approval, search through a list or something liek that.
Why isnt there a public digital library like this available online anyway? Shouldnt all knowledge be available to the public?
We've discussed this many times already. All virus hits are trainers or broken kits meant for security training. If you don't want them/don't need them/feel paranoid about them just delete them.
We really need to write up a warning for OPs to post so the matter need not be dredged up every new thread.
I had a copy of this on windows, but my hard drive got destroyed. When I went to download this one, I got this error. I got this same type of error when I downloaded this on Win7. Why doesn't it just automatically skip the offending file, and how can I stop this from happening again?
>Why doesn't it just automatically skip the offending file?
Because despite being popular Transmission is garbage. Go get qBittorrent or Tixati.
>How can I stop this from happening again?
Move the folder to a higher level or use a client that can modify the file names before downloading.
Sorry Anons but it seems I'm the only seeder left these days. Mind you I've been seeding since thread numero uno. I've got a ratio well above 30 and since I last posted (>>675494) at least a dozen Anons have finished but not a single one has stuck around. While my dedication to sharing the knowledge remains intact I've had to set the 100GB beast on the back burner for more current projects. I'll continue to seed it until the end of days but expect it at a trickle unless some other generous Anon steps up to the plate.
Very nice torrent. I have a few questions. I started downloading everything but then i stopped all except the big 108GB one. Should i finish this one does it means that i have all the ebooks the other torrents have? Or other torrents have more ebooks?
I will seed this torrent like forever. Good initiative.
Each torrent is an individual collection. I believe there is a bit of cross over but not sure. If I'm not mistaken Library Anon is working on organizing it all even further but a project like this takes time.
I'm trying to find a torrent or PDF for a book. It's for a class and i don't want to spend 90 bucks for a copy of it. It's called "Essentials of Skilled Helping" by Gerard Egan. Does anyone know of a place to get it or has it and could make a torrent of it? I've already scoured Google for it and couldn't find anything that hadn't been nabbed for copyright infringement already. Any help would be great.
Someone mind seeding the last RPG manual collection?
