>Lecavalier and Schenn off of Filthy, sent to LA Kings where they can finally play on a good team
>Johansen off the Tortorella jackets, sent to the Preds in exchange for Seth "white mans nightmare" jones
Whats next? Drouin to the oilers for McDavid? The memeage is off the charts tonight
>lose Mike Richards to the caps
>lose Slava Voynov to the feminists
>trade for washed up Lecavalier and mediocre defensemen
Its happening, Kongs are going down the toilet. They will lose in the playoffs this year.
Seen the best from Ryan Johansen? "No, no, no. Joey gave us some good minutes the other night. I’ve been honest about it. I think he’s been inconsistent. Joey’s 23 years old. I know he’s been in the league for a number of years here, I think this is his fifth. He’s got a ton to learn. This shouldn’t be, it’s not a negative connotation on [Johansen] at all, and we’re going to teach him. And that’s what we’re trying to do. We make our call during the games no matter who it is, where they fit those minutes as far as that particular game. We thought Joey was going pretty well last game, so he got more minutes than prior games. That’s an open book as we start the game. For Joey, I think he has a ton to learn. The greatest thing about him is just his ability. He has more ability than a lot of players in the league. It’s trying to get him to get there all the time--to use that ability. And that’s a process. That’s a maturity level. And he hasn’t totally matured yet. The onus falls on us to try to get that out of him."
Does he understand that/relationship with you? "Yeah, I think he does. I think a lot of people around us, Joey and I, want to turn it into that, and listen, I make my bed with some of that stuff as far as the reputation I have, but you guys really don’t know what goes on in that room. Everybody makes these, you throw it against the wall and that’s what’s happening, and you shouldn’t. you shouldn’t know what’s going on in that room, so I don’t blame you. What I do have problems with is you just throw these thoughts out there and say that’s what’s going on when you really don’t know. But that’s your job (smiling), and it’s our job to handle it. And quite honestly, I like the kid. I think certain days we have great progression, some days it’s a step backwards. He’s …23…years old. The greatest part is there’s a ton there, and we’re going to try to get it out of him."
only so many times you can watch a team get 40 shots on goal and not score anything. Its going to suck seeing Seth Jones because an elite defense only to see Johansen not amount to anything because he doesnt care or has already peaked.
Johansen will be great for Nashville, much like Carter and Gaborik for the Kongs
I kind of want to go Saturday to see how the crowd reacts. From what I've seen so far, Jackets fans on suicide watch
>you will never wake up to this sight
tortellini-less Johansen is closer to 1C than seth jones is to 1D
right now, it's preds getting stronger, colelbus still shit
>Jaded figure skater, Ryan Johansen of CBJ traded for functional taurett's sufferer Seth Jones of Nashville
Jones wasn't on my radar that's for sure, but meh, i'm ok with this.
no one knows. reports say he descended from heaven in a hockey bag wrapped in 1995 team finland jerseys to a small ice rink just outside ävkarleby where he was discovered by jari kurri and given to the puljujärvi family to care for and nurture until he would lead us to olympic gold two decades later

Is nothing sacred ? And of course if you comment against it you're labeled a bigot.
And now I force it onto you.
Smart move by the Caps. Basically no risk there and with Beagle injured their bottom six needed some help. Playing on the top team in the league could get the guy back on track, produce a bit.
>Whitby, ON, CAN
>"Prototypical power forward: skates well, goes hard to the net, chips in down low, and causes havoc in front of the net. Aggressive on the forecheck. Uses his large frame to his advantage; able to bully his way around the ice. (Curtis Joe, EP 2014)"
Can one player be more "good 'ol Ontario boy" than this?
>>Lecavalier and Schenn off of Filthy, sent to LA Kings where they can finally play on a good team
Yeah, if you're planning to give Vinny minutes, you aren't a very good team. Schenn will play well (er, as well as he can) on a team with a committed backcheck.
>tfw my favorite player is traded to the kongs
at least its better than him ending his career on filthy
>mfw David Poile once again ripped a team off
How can one GM be so based, we stanley cup contenders now
We tried to tell you he's terrible. You didn't listen.
You thought he was responsible for 2011, when 99% of it was Jeff Gordon.
so pls gib Taylor Hall
>draft franchise winger and waste peak by drafting busts(Filatov, Bruele, Picard).
>get swept the first time you qualify for the playoffs.
>Trade Voracek for a player that didn't even want to be there and trade him for nothing to the kongs.
>Turn down all the NYI picks in 2012 for low offense defenseman made of glass.
>Commit to an inconsistent Russian goalie made of glass.
>Trade for the worst contract in the league because the owner was too jewish to insure Nathan Horton's contract.
>Allow a coach with low shelf life to run the best centre you've ever developed out of town in half a season.
dont be mad because the only thing that will save your team is relocation
>Wanting Taylor Hall
Jesus Christ Boston.
>lelcavalier and worst schenn out of philly
YEAH BOIIII, Sexy Hexy keeps doing his thing
They were always a center away from being the team, now they have that center and they are the team to beat
No more stagnant goal games, Forsberg will be unleashed upon the NHL like never before and Weber and Josi will elevate their already godlike scoring abilities to valhalla
Prepare yourself for Ragnarok when the Predators come to hunt the rest of the NHL into destruction
yeah but Johansen must at least be happy to get out of a shitty situation with his coach on a bad team to a pretty decent team. And Nashville is more in win-now mode.
No one really WANTS to play in Lumbus and Jones will be in huge demand after a year. Seems like a pretty big risk for a team that is clearly rebuilding.
>mfw complete casuals think their opinions are relevant near me
tfw Filip Forsberg and James Neal both get to skate with a 1st line center now
i made this for you since you seem to like statistics
>finland's greatest export is mobile games
i knew it
Winnipeg has roughly the same core of players from the Trashers days. Wheeler, Byfuglien, Ladd & Enstrom are still there.
For a local team you should look at Nashville they have just pulled off a blockbuster and could contend for a Cup this year.
Nashville is no risk of relocating right? I don't want to throw support behind a team just to have them relocate and sour the entire league for me for another 5 years.
Then you would know that Hongcouver is a shit team that will NEVER EVER win a cup. Adding Tortelini was a vast improvement, he was the closest Vancouver has coming to touching a cup.

Why the fuck are there any Hockey teams in Canada again?
Alright my fellow Syrupeans lets vote on this blockbuster. Who won?
You have 1936, 1952, 1954, 1955. Looks like your being cucked ratio is 2:1. Enjoy. Let's not forget about all your coaches, players and GMs who were Canadian either.
>all up in your organization
>tfw the Avs rape the Bloos tonight
>tfw the Avs based owner steals their NFL team
psshhh nothing personal kids
As a neutral fan I think the Johansen for Jones deal is good for both sides.
Columbus gets a potenitally elite defense pair with Murray-Jones, and Nashville finally gets their number 1 center.
>draft a highly projected defensemen (from Ukraine lel) named Vladimir Chistov

While I think the LA Kongs is a shit franchise with the worst fans in the league, I would like to thank them for taking Vinny off our hands
>shit franchise with worst fans in the league
Tbh he was shit on a penalty kill that cost me the close game so I benched his ass and will trade him while he still has high value.
>couldn't even handle the puck when it was passed right to him.
fuck this guy, someone else can develop this meme.
If this turns into another Carter and Gaborik trade for the Kings I'm going to be laughing so hard.
Remember when everyone, including all of the media, was like "WTF Kings? Why would you trade for Gaborik?!"
And then he goes and scores 14 goals in the playoffs and the Kings win the cup.
Kings, not preds.
It won't be as big a trade I'll admit, but the Kings aren't looking for top line stuff from either of these guys. And who knows, Schenn might surprise us all.
Lecavalier legit looks washed up.
Maybe he wont be a "bad" player, but he certainly wont be a great one. Nobody thought Gaborik was totally washed up, most people knew he still had a few good years left when he was traded to the Kings. (hes still only 33 now)
I think you're more likely to see Lecavalier look like St Louis did on the Rangers last year than how Gaborik did on the Kings cup run.
Schenn is bad though, not sure why they think that will replace the void left by Slava Voynov getting the boot.
Well Greene is on IR and apparently done for the year. (Fuck you NHL for no suspension on Hedman for that hit). So they aren't looking to replace Slava, just Greene, on the bottom pairing, not number 2 like Slava.
And if Vinny can provide some vet leadership and even a bit of production it'd be great. Based on the quotes I've read from him from an interview earlier in the week he really wants to end his career with some dignity.
he made every line he played on worse (even the 4th line). he was given several opportunities on the top line and made nothing of them. he's extremely slow, can't hit, and can't defend. he also can't score anymore either.
well...If I had to guess LA just liked Schenn because hes pretty big and has some goon potential.
Their general playoff strategy is to Goon everyone into submission so maybe thats their big plan.
as far as Lecavalier, I think average at best is about all you can really expect. Its hardly a replacement for Mike Richards.
In all honesty Richards on the Caps is the big news of the day. That move could be the difference between ECF and Stanley Cup. But time will tell on that one. Seems the Kongs and Preds are getting all the attention right now.
They don't need him to do anything in the regular season, they just need him to make a few good plays in the playoffs (which hes capable of doing) and they're golden.
Hes really just a depth player for them, but a depth player with a very high skill cap if hes not on cocaine.
Besides, LA is one of the drug capitals of the world. Of course he struggles to get off drugs there, drugs are everywhere in LA because you have celebrities with money and Mexican cartels with drugs.
The Kings got a serviceable defenseman which is what they needed. Stop acting like Vinny getting 8 minutes a night for 1 year is going to turn the team from a cup contender to gutter trash in 4 seconds
Kongs fans are so new, are they even worse than Blackcocks fans?
don't you mean Hongcouver pizza?
he does in early pictures. his new hair is cuter
Carolina @ Vancouver gamethread
Bruins'll be fine. They're constantly nipping at the heels of the best teams in the conference, and it's a supposed rebuilding year. Granted, the Winter Classic was a trainwreck in slow motion, but the Bs have a nasty habit of having those games every now and again
>tfw freed from a schenn
>tfw chucking shitty Contracts
>tfw 10 draft picks
filthy will finally have 1 good team soon.
>oilers rob penguins with the perron trade
>turn around and get robbed when they trade they pick for le can't skate or score man
you're right, but
>Fligs is all flustered trying to be captain that he was groomed for but not at all ready for. he was Johansen's best winger by far.
>ALL of our forwards are required to back check themselves into injuries and smartly, Johansen never risked his body for a what is usually a desperate team
I can't fucking wait to watch him and Forsberg together.
Jones and Jack Johnson could probably just act-like-douchebags their opponents into oblivion. Add Connauton for extra offense, add Prout when you just need to fuck shit up.
good trade all around imho
Was that a real typo or /hoc/ shenanigans?
I'm pretty sure it was real, this one too
