Just rewatched the fight, that's really wank worthy stuff. If you haven't already I really suggest you do the same fightfans.

After the fight I thought Condit had it won, especially with the sheer volume he threw but after rewatching it, I can see how it went in Lawler's favour. Everyone agrees on the rounds except for the 3rd, and watching it back Lawler was landing some good shots and had some good control for the first half of the round. Condit took over later on, but he didn't really land anything big other than throwing him combos. Very close round but I can see why it went to Lawler. Top performances from both guys though, just great stuff and that final round elevated it from a good fight to a great fight

Yeah it's really damn stupid. I think there's a case for instant rematches just not being a thing at all unless the fight was really close, sort of like Lawler/Condit, but considering the way Dana has done things, not giving Aldo a rematch is criminal.

At the end of Holly/Rousey, we clearly saw the better overall fighter come out on top. There was no question whatsoever. Despite his win, I don't think you could say the same for McGregor over Aldo.

In reality though i think all these instant rematches are bullshit and shouldn't be happening. Werdum beat Cain soundly, Holly did the same and even Aldo would be better off fighting some others in the top 10 before going for the belt again after being heemed like that
