Taxslayer Bowl - Penn State vs. Georgia

Alamo Bowl - Oregon vs. TCU
6:45 PM EST on ESPN
Liberty Bowl - Kansas State vs. Arkansas
3:20 PM EST on ESPN
>Alamo bowl the only good bowl game today
>Only one I'll be around to watch is crappy Penn State vs. Georgia
I'm kind of becoming a fan of TCU after that freezing rain game that went into double OT. Shit that was fun.
>been watching bowl games non stop for the past few days
>only watch college football between NFL days
>tfw no college team to root for and not enough knowledge of college football to have an opinion on most of the teams
I'm just watching football to watch football but it feels empty. There's no excitement behind it because I don't care what happens or who wins.
Who else is in the same boat? And also, wat fucking do?
Used to do this. Find a team that is decent, maybe in your state/region, get to know their players, then move to learning the major conference opponents, then move outward from there. Shitpost about how much better your team is than other teams, even if it absolutely isnt. Also do this for your confrence, it's hilarious
>the two teams who played in the Big 10 Championship lost their bowl games by a combined score of 83-16
Why is the Big 10 so shit lads?
Pac 12 wins have mostly been against G5 teams besides coachless Miami, who Wazzou beat by only 6, and Iowa, though. They had some ridiculously overpowered bowl matchups against teams like fucking Southern Miss and New Mexico
I find myself drawn to Michigan state for some reason but the emotional connection just isn't there.
Bay area CA. I fucking hate UC Berkeley with a passion so they're out of the question. I don't think I'll ever be into college football the same way as the NFL... I was born into a Raiders family, any other way just wouldn't feel right.
Is anyone watching the liberty bowl right now? What's up with the loud ass off-tone horns they're blowing on practically every play? That shit is so irritating.
PAC football is so fun to watch though. I enjoy watching the sport even when my team isn't playing, perhaps because I have so much context (watching cfb all my life, played a ton of NCAA).
The best way to watch college football is to just enjoy its volatile nature and unpredictability. Hunt for and try to predict the upsets week to week. The best part of the sport is not knowing what the fuck is going to happen even when a power five school plays a shitter (see Arkansas and Toledo/SCAR and citadel).
>assuming OU takes the big12 again
This meme needs to die. The more you look at Oklahoma this year the more their conference win seems like a fluke. Baylor and TCU both suffered multiple injuries at key positions, sometimes one week after the other.
Oklahoma is going back into the middle tier after this year. Shit, at this point I think Texas Tech has a better shot at winning the Big 12 than Oklahoma. Stoops needs to go.
With Russell Gaylor would have booty blasted the Big XII.
Oklahoma will be ahead of Texas, Okie State, TTU, Kansas State next year for sure.
Their O'Line is basically just freshmen and Mayfield and Perrine will be back. I can't see how they will "going back into the middle tier"
Seth Russell had Baylor doing some unbelievable shit. It's always going to bug me that he got hurt. What could have been.
Speaking of, what are some of the great "What ifs" of college football? Injuries, matchups missed, failed meetings, coaching jobs not taken, that sort of thing.
>SEC and Pac-12 go 8-2 to end bowl season
>Bama wins NCG
>SEC goes 9-2
>SEC back to being GOAT
honestly, the acc should just give up VT, Clemson and FSU to the SEC and get demoted to g5. Pac12 should take texas and oklahoma and we have and East/West tournament every year. the "big" conferences can fuck right off
>tfw I wear a Bama polo once a week even though I go to UCLA
If you're Bay Area, jump on the Stanford train, or USC/UCLA if not for them. Nobody will bat an eye at another Raiders/USC fan, and Stanford and UCLA will just be happy for their programs to be relevant enough to bandwagon.
Ok that's it, I'm done, it's over, shut it the fuck down. OHIO STATE is the only team worth a dern in the B1G. And we are tired of carrying around you other Big Ten bottom feeders on our backs. First we cruise through the BCS Era with 7 BCS bowl wins and a Natty, propping up the Big along the way and now this?! I MEAN COME ON! It's 2016 and we have a PLAYING.. While we're out here with the most playoff wins of all time and booty blasting teams like Alabama, Oregon, and Notre Dame.. THE REST OF YOU ARE GETTING CHAD THUDERCOCKED BY STANFORDS AND TENNESSEE! I can't take it anymore! Stop feeding of our post season energy! That's it I am out.. This ends now and I am fucking serious!
Basically every play like a kick six or pick six to close the game...especially the ones that are results of strange bounces and the like.
To a lesser extent big goal line stands.
Ohio State would bootyblast every SEC team not named Bama. Honestly, Michigan, Iowa and MSU would've beaten everyone in the PAC and SEC except Stanford and Bama too. Fucking Wisconsin beat the PAC runner up, and 5-7 Nebraska beat 8-4 UCLA.
I don't have to dream nigger. My team took the SEC East champ out behind the woodshed yesterday and beat their brains out. The Pac and SEC are hanging their hats on picking on little 12 teams with half their roster depleted and third rate B1G programs like Northwestern.
>a michigan fan defending Ohio state
literal cuck school
Look, here's the long and short of the difference between the SEC and the Big whatever y'all are:
The stress of competing in the SEC was so much that it almost killed Meyer, made him quit one of the easiest to recruit to schools in the nation with some of the best athletic support...
And he chose to come to coach OSU.
The SEC literally broke the man, but he's fine at OSU. Think about that.
I'm not defending them. I think it's hilarious that little brother kept their team of destiny out of the playoff, but I also recognize that the SEC is just Bama and a bunch of jokes who dickride them. And the Pac's best team lost to fucking Northwestern.
Definitely. They're actually built almost ideally to beat Alabama. They'll have to be firing on all cylinders if Alabama brings the A game, but it'll be worth watching no matter what.
You know people can go through illnesses and recover, right?
You know Meyer won multiple ships at Florida, right? And that every program he's touched has been gold?
Ohio State has always been his home and it's where he started, it was probably his dream job
>You know people can go through illnesses and recover, right?
Yes and part of recovering from stress induced mental breakdowns is to move to a lower stress environment.
> thinking coaches care about "home"
>thinking coaches care about "home"
I don't think you understand the implications of being Ohio State's coach when you're from Ohio and have grown up here
It is truly the Alabama of the North in terms of pervasion of culture
>two penalties in a row on the first drive of the game
>get into the Red Zone anyways from two massive throws downfield
Being a WVU fan means having a heart attack during every game.
I don't think you understand how mercenary the upper levels of coaching are.
These guys don't give a flying fuck about what school they're at. Holy Hell, look at Spurrier, fucker went to coach at scar so he could play golf, then basically did as little as possible to not get fired so he could duck hunt and golf while getting a far pay check.
Meyer fucking had a breakdown because of how competitive the SEC is. He went to OSU because they pay like the SEC, but don't have an eighth the competition. Hell, go back to when he started there and find the quotes from the other coaches in the conference about how he was being unfair in recruiting. He was doing that shit the SEC way, a way that is far more competitive than any of them were used to. The big whatever is a lazy conference. It's easy to dominate by anyone who has done time at the upper levels of the SEC.this is why he is there. Once the other schools pick up the slack, he'll have his little heart palpitations again, then say he has to watch his daughter play volleyball again (who cares that she doesn't any more, it's not like he watched her before or would of she still was) and then retire because the Big whatever is the last conference that he could pull this shit at.
People like this don't change friend. He's at OSU till it gets hard. Once that happens, he checks out.
>Hell, go back to when he started there and find the quotes from the other coaches in the conference about how he was being unfair in recruiting. He was doing that shit the SEC way, a way that is far more competitive than any of them were used to.
kek. You mean like how Saban and his bitches were whining about Harbaugh's satellite tour through da souf this summer?
Honestly, that's head coach bantz. In the SEC it's not real until they start reporting your ass to the NCAA.
Heh, especially in terms of Saban that fucker is God of bending the fuck out of recruiting rules and just staying a gnats nut hair on the side of legal. He even has team lawyers who are specifically tasked with looking for loopholes.
It's documented fact friend. You can stick your fingers in your ears all you want, but he's in Ohio because he's not mentally tough enough for the cutthroat SEC. It's kinda sad because he's like the kid who failed twice and is bullying the other kids in 5th grade because he's bigger than them.
Where he's at is perfect for him because he only has to worry about four games a year at most, and so long as y'all beat Michigan, you'll suck his dick.
Fucking Christ that was the greatest thing I've ever seen and I fucking HATE TCU.
Players fucking cramping up on the sidelines, down 31 points, everyone getting hurt, people fucking bleeding.
ALL THAT FUCKING HEART.
>It is a documented fact friend
I forgot hearsay and rumors counted as "facts" in the SEC. Begets your terrible academics. I remember when Nick Saban got BTFO in the NFL and came scampering right back to the SEC with his tail between his legs so he could go back to the comfy tradition of recruiting all of the best players in the country in his own backyard and barely doing a modicum of actual coaching.
As a grad assistant for Florida during Meyer's last years, the other anon is pretty on target with what happened. Coach just fell apart.
>saying Saban doesn't coach
Guy, come on now. No one is stupid enough to think that.
If it even possible for Oregone to win anything?
Thank you based Leach indeed. Thanks to that I was finally able to rid myself of being a Gopher fan
You never know, I still don't think it would be crazy
Eh, I remember that Minnesota/TTU game, so there's always a chance
>live near a college
>can watch college sports for cheap
It's not really all that complicated. People like sports. People also like tradition which colleges have in spades. There's more reason to watch college athletics than there are reasons not to.
Hell, I still go to my state's high school football championships. It's fun and excuse to get out.
ROFLMAO please don't tell me this is an actual name? You americans with your ____ bowls..I still have no idea what these mean and why there are all these ____ bowl names for matches..
TUNE IN NEXT WEEK FOR BALL BAWL !
The school I went to didn't have football when I went (they do now). The large state university where I grew up is usually a contender and is steeped in tradition. And the town is crawling with thots. Stay angry beta.
>the retard who was too dumb to get into alabama is calling people beta again
Never watched college ball, can anyone either explain to me what all these bowls mean and is there a biggest bowl that makes you better team then all other teams that have other bowls or are all the bowls equal, or tell me a synonym for bowl.
Just fun games after the regular season that pair up teams from different conferences. One bowl is the national championship so yes, that's bigger than the others. Two other bowls work as semi-finalist bowls and the winner of those goes to the natty.
There's something of a hierarchy after that. Some bowls are historic (Rose, Sugar, Cotton, Orange, etc) and some have been started in the past fifteen years exclusively for corporate sponsorship (anything with a company's name for a title). The historic bowls get first pick, inviting the best or one of the best teams from two conferences, while the corporate bowls take from what's left.
They're like post-season exhibition games to "reward" worthy teams. However they keep adding more bowls every year and now basically half of the FBS division teams get to play in one. So now they've become mostly a way for corporate sponsors to run a 4 hour long dedicated ad interspersed with 1 hour of football.
Also the later in the season the bowl games happen, the bigger the payout to the participating teams, usually. Winning a bowl doesn't mean too much except historic value in seeing rare or interesting matchups.
God Steve Spurrier was such a fucking jackass. I love to hate him though. I bet he's a fun head coach to have as well.
As a Tennessee fan, I will never forget 'you can't spell Citrus without UT'. God-tier banter.
Why is nobody talking about Christian Hackenberg going to the draft?
Honestly they still might be the best team in the country. They just happened to go full retard the one night is was required for them to be good. Tragic, but >>64640324 is still true.
I missed it because I went to the movies after they were getting BTFO.
I agree that Meyer is a pussy and would rather beat Jr colleges by 50 than lose a close game to another great school, but on the flip side of that, we have Saban, who got buttblasted in the Big ten and ran away crying about how he couldn't get no good croots cus Michigan was the only program that mattered. Let's be honest, the whole competitive edge in the SEC isn't about coaching intangibles. It's about which tacky snake oil salesmen can slip more cash and pimp out more white girls to nignogs with a sub 50 IQ. Your league's advantage is just that there are a lot of black people nearby lol.
>this assmad at muh SEC
lel, big ten FAGS can't handle the BIG SEC DINGUS
Iowa fan here, still coping with the JUST ending to an otherwise enjoyable season.
What do you think are the odds that Iowa's program gets even better results next year? I think that 12-0 regular season, as much as I didn't want to admit it at first, was probably a once in a lifetime happening. However, a bunch of guys are returning for next year and the schedule isn't significantly worse than this year's. I'd be happy with 9-10 wins and ANY kind of bowl win.
Thanks a lot assholes. Now we have to sit through another completely meaningless national championship game between the two biggest meme teams in the nation.
Jordan Canzeri, Sean Draper, Cole Fisher, Jordan Lomax, Drew Ott, (possibly) Desmond King, Tevaun Smith, and a couple other guys I'm forgetting off the top of my head are the guys on their way out.
Iowa will win 9 or ten games probably. The west is really weak. Nebraska will be better, but Wisconsin won't have a QB and just lost a great D coordinator. If you can beat them and Northwestern(lel), you'll be back in the B1G Championship game. You'll get bootyblasted by Michigan, but so many teams in the B1G are losing so much that it's hard to say wtf is gonna happen next year. The only major player from this year without significant roster attrition is Michigan, from what I can tell.
I don't care how much pressure is on you, guys making $2.95 million per year should NOT be so overweight.....especially when their office is 10 feet from a world-class fitness center.
the other thing about bowls is that even the smallest bowl games have several days of activities scheduled around them in the city that they're in. They serve as an economic stimulus for tourism in the cities they are held in.
For millions of non-football fans, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year's Day (which is just incredibly ornate floral floats)
is much more of a tradition than the football game.
Are you guys aware of the meme-magic thread that precipitated the TCU comeback?
SEC set a new ALL time record for bowl wins with 8.
With the power of 20/20 hindsight what bowl match ups would everyone have liked to see.
Personally I'd go with
>Florida vs. Baylor
Horrible Offense vs. Horrible Defense. Great Defense vs. Great Offense. Never seen more one sided teams.
>Stanford vs Ole Miss
We don't get a single PAC vs SEC match up here, yuck
>Tennessee vs. Michigan
This is what should've happened. Two former great programs on the rise again. Great storylines and we could've had a really good game between B1G and SEC.
>FSU vs. Notre Dame
Call it the overrated bowl.
Given how bad the NY6 ratings were, wouldn't it make sense to move every game to New Years' Day?
4 games in the afternoon and the semis at night?
Maybe split up the TV rights, make it cheaper for networks but more money for the CFP
It can't be that much worse
now we are getting somewhere
>BREAKING: TEXAS A&M "HAS PARTED WAYS" WITH SPAV
About damn time.
Why, Stidham was inarguably the better QB and he played against actual p5 teams instead of the creampuffs Russell was.
OU will win the the conference the next two years running. Their O line and D line has a lot of NFL prototypical players coming in. No more of this getting ran over bullshit
Also literally half their coaches were first year guys.Look for OU to be at least as successful next year
Next year, definitely - them and anOSU are going to be frighteningly good (so might Oklahoma and Michigan, we'll see what happens during the spring), but 86ing Spav was something that needed to happen for A&M to get on the right path. Next year will definitely be a rebuilding year, so I'm honestly not expecting anything really good to happen until 2017, although most of Aggieland expects greatness every step of the way.
That feel when the only things I truly enjoy and am passionate about are Math/Statistics and College Football.
Now I'm left with 1 thing and I have to be a faggot nerd for the rest of the year
I've tried to get into baseball but its tough. Especially because I don't live in the same market as the team I support.
Also I do college basketball analytics because its kind of uncharted territory
I was just thinking about how there was no PAC-SEC matchup.
I went to the Rose Bowl and saw Stanford just absolutely demolish Iowa; by the 4th Shaw took out most of the starters on defense, which is why Iowa suddenly looked relevant.
Ole Miss would have been a fun matchup, and I'm sure all my Cardinal friends and I would have loved the opportunity to see Hogan and pals shitstomp some bayou bitches.
>Tfw the NFL bootyblasted the entire bowl season in one day
Yep. All Ole Miss had to do to win the SEC west was not lose to shitty fucking Arkansas, and they couldn't pull it off. Tons of talented and highly inconsistent/poorly coached teams in the SEC. Bama is the only team in the conference with a great coaching staff. You take Mark D'antonio and give him Ole Miss' players and they're winning Natties.
I just remember when I had no idea who he was. I was watching a half time interview and be just opens up "we're getting out asses kicked out there." He never did the whole coach talk thing. He really was a treasure.
Threadly reminder that the Buckeyes, given the opportunity, would beat down alabama. Urban had to spank you bubbas last year and now look at yall running around with your big mouths. Looks like Urban is gonna have to bring the paddle next time he sees you cowards
make a sign saying with pic related and have >implying I went to bama underneath it
This bowl season has sucked but the natty should be fun. I'm thinking 24-20 Bama. Bama's front 7 is just so good and the line can clog holes and get pressure without blitzing. Deshaun is going to have to beat Bama through the air and a scramble or two. If Coker gets hot through the air again it might be a blowout.
I wish we would've drawn a more competitive matchup. No amount of Panther's success fueled Carolina shitposting was going to make Jacoby Brisset a good QB or an ACC defense able to stop Dak.
On a final note, glad I got to watch Dak blossom from a 3rd down run specialist to the best QB in the nation. Been a fun ride.
Let's take a moment and bask in the Glory of Spurrier Bantz. I mean, I hate the fucker, but the sport was better for having him.
>mfw Clemson is limited to 20 hours of practice a week, while Alabama gets unlimited practice
Fucking SEC bias
I knew we were going to get wrecked, defense is hot garbage. I still like Brisset and I think he can be a back up QB somewhere. At least we won some regular season ACC games. I hope we beat Carolina next year. Always a chance to ruin FSU's season in Carter-Finley as well.
>all my Michigan state friends want Bama to win so they'll feel better about losing to them and because then Michigan state will get more respect after the fact since they got btfo by the champion
Is there a more cucked little brother syndrome fanbase in America?
>drafting any of the following
>Wv coach babbys
Lel Geno Smeth
Have fun with your Tim Couches.
No Goeff is not elite, he is another couch
Worse than any other little brother. Michigan State at least has some basketball/football success in the past two decades to point to, NC State hasn't won jack shit, and they're OBSESSED with all things UNC. They're the ones that instigated the academic scandal stuff and they even erected a statue after beating UNC last year.
>Kliff leaving after the first year
I miss Kliff as much as much as anyone at A&M, but Spav took over the next year with a somewhat similar season, even with the loss to Bama. Broken thumb received against Vandy affected the Mizz and LSU games as well.
Also forgot to credit the obvious
Hes fine with a strong run game.
But he wont carry a team like manziel or mayfield.
Hes a solid 8-4 if used right. Maybe he has potential to improve, he didnt show it in games this season though.
They are sort of rivals football, mostly because Duke and UVA have historically bad programs, Clemson is in the other division, and ECU and SCAR are in different conferences. If NC State wasn't within 20 miles of UNC the Heels probably wouldn't give a shit about them tbqh. As it stands NC State fans are just loud as hell because the school is easier to get into, they have a large student body, and they constantly want to remind people they exist. Kind of opposite to Wake, whereas the Deacs don't care if anyone knows who they are.
>mfw da cocks win teh college national championship
cool. hope his experience is enough to get us at least 7 wins.
>your favorite team
>who you are rooting for to win the championship
them winning or losing really has 0 impact on our recruiting battle head to head with them, but if they win it will help recruits want to stay in the SECSECSEC instead of thinking they can go out of conference to win a natty
Also I dont ever want an undefeated national champ, and being the only team to beat Bama would be ok
He spent too much time under Heupel, OU got the better end of the deal. Murray may be a prima donna, but his daddy won't be looming over his shoulder (Stoops won't put up with that shit) and he's only 18 so he's plenty pliable and has lots of room to grow.
Although honestly from everything I've heard and read his heart is more in baseball, so he can walk onto Oklahoma's poverty baseball team and be an instant starter.
You don't think so? Right now what's fresh on the minds with bama is the kick six, and getting beaten by Ohio State who almost didn't get in the playoffs.
A win here would erase that and cement the notion of a dynasty there. Almost a feeling that the undisputed best place to play college ball is bama. I'm not saying I feel this way, but this is definitely a plausible recruiting storyline with a win here.
tamu fan here and honestly, if OU can make murray into a stud I will never doubt stoops ever again. he and allen had attitude problems mixed with sense of entitlement since the qb position here = instant deification. i'm kinda glad we got knight because he will definitiely provide a lot of experience and leadership to a team in desperate need of an identity. 2016 will probably be shit but at least we are trying to shed the cancer manziel left us with
Sumlin really mismanaged that situation in the worst possible way. Kevin Murray is a nobody outside of A&M so he won't get in the way of Stoops (and the rest of the team - THEY won't put up with his shit, either) breaking Murray down and rebuilding him. I'm very confident in what Stoops can do.
I think that kids now see OM as a reasonable contender under Hugh
If Saban wins, the pitch won't change it will just have a newer trophy to back up the "you can win and get drafted here just look at x,y,z"
Also being able to say "Alabama has gone to the playoffs both years, but we also beat them both years.. Those two years we didnt have enough depth to stay strong the entire schedule but if you look at our last 4 classes they are much better than the 4 we had when we beat them 2 years ago, and we are only getting better"
I think that pitch along with people visiting Oxford and just signing one marquee name each class will keep our recruiting top 5-20 every year from now on
Daily reminder that the big 12 is not a real conference, and belongs in the same tier as the group of five.
Daily reminder that any big 12 team that gets handed the big 12 champion ship by default never deserves to get in over any other conference champion in the nation.
Daily reminder that the big 12 strength of schedule is even more artificially inflated than the SEC, as evidenced by their recent bowl game performances against the first decent teams they've played all year.
>your favorite team
>who you are rooting for to win the championship
>implying anyone wants more SEC shitposting
>tfw >we did >our part to keep the SEC at bay but sparty, NU, and pedo state got fucked up and the SEC shitposting won't stop
Kliff wasn't there.
ATM without Kliff is just a shitter Big12 team.
You got memed on.
Stop scheduling 3 fcs opponents a year and come get memed on a second time.
Lmao both of our teams suck m8, marching band is full of fucking nerds and I hate them.
I'm on the track team, and they had us hand out black troy tshirts before the game to everyone who walked in. We saw a posse of drunk, hot, South girls walk in, one took a shirt from me, grinded her ass on me, and said "I'm gonna burn this shirt" in the most slutty and incredible way. Thats what I imagine is the average south girl
you sound like a drooling retard, but you go to troy, so I should have expected that.
I'm in the band, and cfb would be nothing without marching bands. there would be no atmosphere or pageantry without the band. having a terrible band is a sign of a program that does not put its best foot forward, and no school that is going anywhere doesn't do that.
>i'm in the band
Being in the and for a football team in the state of Alabama is choosing to be cuckolded by an entire program, no matter what school. I have maybe met one or two band members at ANY school that aren't raging faggots.
>cfb would be nothing without marching bands
I wonder if flute playing faggots really believe this bullshit. It's good that you have fun with the band and everything dude, but seriously, you're a nerd and nobody gives a fuck about the band.
>being in a shitty esseesee marching band
>not being in a glorious B1G band, the conference with (objectively) the best bands in the nation
Our band absolutely blew out the shitty band from the school our team played at our bowl.
>inb4 sparty i'm not that much of a cuck :^)
congrats Houston. just be aware that allen has severe confidence issues. he plays extremely well when he has a clear head, but aside from the Vandy game this year I did not see it. good pickup for the coogs tho
This should be the elite conference desu
>except Overrated Dame, OverratedHomo, Shitxas, and Overrated SoCal
Really just Bama, Tennessee, Michigan, and Ohio State
>mfw Bama-Ohio State, Michigan-Tennessee is CFB playoffs semifinals next year
First of all, no they don't. Most National champ claims are bullshit across all teams. Even a lot of BCS titles are iffy when you consider all of the controversy that happened. And B1G teams have deflated bowl records due to the fact that the conference only allowed 1 team to play in a bowl for like 50 years, and teams couldn't go to the Rose Bowl in consecutive years. This meant that the best team in the conference would often miss out on a bowl trip altogether, and the second best team would have to travel across the country and be overmatched against the best Pac 12 team, (usually USC). Tennessee's mostly been an afterthought for the majority of their history. They haven't been consistent enough to be a blueblood. Their # of conference championships, all-time win % etc reflect that. Every blueblood has at least a .700 win %.
Nice rebuttal homo. I know my football history. Between Neyland and Fulmer, Tennessee was pretty much irrelevant, and they have been again since Fulmer left.
>Ohio is literally the worst state ever.
That we can agree on. Still doesn't make UT a blueblood though.
The only time anyone cares about Tennessee is when they play Alabama or they offhandedly mention Peyton went there.
Apply for blueblood status when you have 70 more wins.
Tennessee has been off the radar for a long time now, but next year could ACTUALLY be the year they make some waves in cfb.
Dobbs has been called a heisman sleeper, Hurd is consistently insane, their defense held Alabama to 19 points (Lowest in any of bama's game).
Michigan and Tennessee are in VERY similar spots right now (national championship in late 90s, haven't really done shit since) and are both up and coming. Only reason Michigan made a splash in CFB is because they have an easier schedule and can get a good record easier
lol there was so much fucking hype behind that team this year it's hard to cal them under the radar, of course the season falls apart andf everyone is like "this team is so yung give htme a few years" come 4 years you niggas will be making the same excuse
This past season was very good iirc??
>would've beat Florida if roid qb wasnt there
>Nearly beat Oklahoma, we beat ourselves that game
>Arkansas just beat us, plain and simple but thats k
>Only lost to bama by 5
It's taken some time but it was a good season
In the right situation I think he could be, but I definitely don't think TAMU is the right situation
how much are they bringin back beside dobbs and hurd? they were quietly really good this year, easily a top 15 team with some bad luck
stay cucked little brother
>throwing your family under the bus like that, even your aunt who has a UM Flint degree
who has more pathetic lives: us or people that post on their teams respective rivals/scout boards?
By all good sense they should be, but they never have achieved high enough or long enough to come close to being considered blue bloods.
>not including Army
I know they've sucked for a while, but seriously, if you want to talk about storied histories and prestige, you cannot keep them out.
I admit not knowing much about them, but were they historically worth a damn?
the other boards. at least here we have fun shitposting with dank memes. people on those boards are all just 45 year old fags who hate their lives and live and die by college football because they otherwise have no fulfillment in their pathetic lives
No actual vols fan was saying this. This year the media said we could make waves, and I was like wtf i wish. Our team was so far in the fucking gutter, losing to Vandy twice, that I thought it would take Butch Jones at least 5 years to sniff the SECCG. But here we are in Year 3 and Butch Jones was one fourth down stop from winning the SEC East.
Every year since he took over the Tennessee Vols have improved. Next year is a year we don't lose a lot of personnel. If we improve next year it means we must be playing in the SECCG. So it's pretty reasonable as a Vols fan to ask, hey? Are we there yet?
Nigga, we were getting BTFO in these games during Dooley and Butch's first year. We were less embarrassing two years ago. And this past year we actual played a competitive game with every single opponent (2 of which in the cfb playoffs). That's something to be happy about when you consider the trajectory and past few years.
>By all good sense they should be, but they never have achieved high enough or long enough to come close to being considered blue bloods.
>not including Army
Bruh, they have an all time win % in the .500's, never played in a power conference, and their only claimed natties were during WWII when everybody was drafted or joined the service.
>I admit not knowing much about them, but were they historically worth a damn?
Is you serious?
The blue-bloods are concrete with one possible exception, being Nebraska. I typically would include them, but many people don't. Other than that, it's not debateable.
>I admit not knowing much about them, but were they historically worth a damn?
Are you daft?
Go to hell Ole Miss. We both know that Freeze is commuting violations to get recruits to Oxturd, just look at Tunsil's eligibility this season. Enjoy the house of cards while still being deadlocked with an honest program.
Yes. Oklahoma's offense was good because they had tons of option plays but they couldnt run them with Clemson penetrating so quickly. They had to run an inferior version of the air raid which didn't wrok at all.
meh, the Orange Bowl had OU winning at the half and they had chances to put themselves together until the middle of the 4th quarter. that being said, the game was boring to watch
In highschool band, I used to hear the "the football team would be nothing without the band" (our band program was nationally recognized I guess was their reasoning idk) and it always made me cringe.
DAILY REMINDER THAT THIS CUBAN FAGGOT IS A KLIFF BABBY
>nobody gives a fuck about the band.
this is the part where you are wrong though. Heard plenty of fans and even players/coaches in both football and basketball say the games wouldn't be the same without the band (at my C-USA school at least)
Dak is statistically the best player to ever play college football in Mississippi and you can never change that. Enjoy being "a few plays away" from an SEC championship while still somehow having the same record as damn near every other team including your rival.
>Enjoy being "a few plays away" from an SEC championship while still somehow having the same record as damn near every other team including your rival.
They were literally a fourth and long play away from being in the SEC title game.
Michigan will beat Ohio State next year and make the playoffs
>tfw you will never take your alma mater to the B1G championship
>I can take screenshots of convenient data too
That has literally nothing to do with us winning the conference next season. If you want to talk about history, I hope you enjoy being second. If you want to talk about the present, aOSU clearly had the better season but still finished in a Consolationb Owl. Anyone would be stupid to say that Michigan isn't in the perfect position to be back at the top of the B1G for the foreseeable future - we were expected to barely finish over .500 and we ended up being a borderline top 10 team in Harbaugh's first season.
And? Again, what does the last 15 years have to do with next year? It was the second best period in aOSU history and the second worst in U-M's. Trying to correlate it with projection's for next year is retarded and you know it.
That's not what I'm saying at all, and I'm pretty sure you can tell that and are just being a retard. I'm saying neither matters, unless you want to stretch it to mean that each program's history has an effect on next year in terms of the brand they each developed and how it affects recruiting.
Daily reminder that Kingsbury is 1-0 against Saban.
I think you guys are still a year away from contending which sucks for you because OSU will be back on top in 2017 after a down year due to all the 2013 recruiting class players going pro early.
God damn it was absurd how good that class is. All those guys who went pro and we still have fucking Conley, Lewis, Dontre Wilson and Barrett hanging around from that class
need a list of little brother schools (worse in sports (football mostly here) and academics:
To me, little brother-ness is pretty much solely determined by the relative quality of the athletic programs of the two schools. Pointing out that you have better academics would be a very little brother thing to do
>MUCH larger school
>MUCH better academics
>better than USC at every sport except football and is pretty much even with them right now
>little brother to the little private film school
learn the definition of words
I know you are saying this because Alabama has worse academics than Auburn but don't worry Alabama is dominant enough in football and large enough that we will let it slide and make an exception for them
>MUCH better academics
I can't even tell if you're unironically being stupid or not. They're both always in the top 25 universities and are often tied (I believe they are right now according to USN), sometime SC is even higher. Really depends on what you're going to school for.
honestly outside of a select handful of a schools the idea of one university having better academics than another is becoming somewhat antiquated. the quality of education a student receives depends more on the student than on the school and if anything the balance is shifting further in that direction
Rich fuck ups wasting their daddy's money on film school go to USC. They are NEVER top 25 nationally in university rankings
UCLA is chalk full of STEM asians and is constantly top 3 in public schools
This is pretty true, although I think you could easily still fit them into groups of 10-20 schools each. As someone who has attended a top 30 university and a "party school" outside of the top 100 the difference is night and day.
>They are NEVER top 25 nationally in university rankings
Just stop posting before you make yourself look like even more of an idiot dude. USC is consistently recognized as being on the same level as UCLA, Cal, UNC, Wake Forest, Michigan, etc.
>Literally tied at #23
>Exactly like I said in my original post
>soo buttflustered he's blatantly ignoring that everything I've posted is 100% correct
>that Oocla inferiority complex
Is there a comfier feeling than being a student/alumni of a blueblood and a non-little brother?
you are so upset that you actually left the Northeast for a football school with shit tier academics and all your degree is worth now is trying to be popular tripfagging on a anonymous weeb faggot image board so like 30 cents lol
CANT BEAT SABAN
>Right now A&M is definitely not the little brother
>Tech better than UT and TAMU
>TAMU and UT under Baylor UH and TCU as well
>Tech is the littlest brother
>implying this makes them better than UT or A&M
Strong reading comprehension there. Everyone knows Rice > UT > A&M >>>>> Baylor > TCU >>>>>> HCC > Tech
