Just ready for all the butt hurt when the championship comes back home Monday
Me, if I'm being completely honest
out of the way, whitebois
>mfw I realize that the two Mississippi schools got the #1 (Robert K.) and 2 (Chris Jones) prospects in the nation in 2013
>mfw neither was good at the time
Why wouldn't they? This is almost like Texas USC in 2005. Bama has lost a game this year and has had some close games. If Arkansas and Tennessee can score points Clemson should be able to. I have my money on Bama but don't see why people are picking them to steamroll Clemson. This will be a close game. Clemson is by far better than UF or meme state u
UGA just stole the best WR prospect in the country who was committed to SCAR. Jacob Eason and Smart bringing in recruits like crazy. They are going to have the best recruiting class of all time either this year or the next.
I'd love this. kick SCAR out and bring in clemson. preferably i'd want to kick mizzou out instead of SCAR, but SCAR would never allow clemson to join so we'd need to get rid of them.
Most D1 schools are better than like 70-60% of the rest of the universities in the US m8. There's probably more people on this board who go/went to the shitty universities than the D1s.
Mississippi schools capitalized on popularity from the Blind Side finally, the SEC's dominance in championship games, and the Manning story. Plus a surge in booster money and new coaches = short term recruiting success. Unless either of them win something in the next few years they'll taper off.
Cavin isn't the best prospect by a long shot. He was inferior in ever aspect except size to his older brother m8, and he was never going to SCAR, nobody thought that would actually happen.
>wanting ANOTHER team with a tiger as a mascot
And let's not forget a #1 ranking in the first playoff poll and a trip to the Orange bowl.
So far the Mississippi schools in the past 2 years
>3 top 5 rankings
>top 1 ranking
>3 NY6 bowls appearances
>2 bowl victories
>and a trip to the Orange bowl.
What does Mississippi State have to do with the blind side or the Mannings?
You're wrong. Mullen and Freeze are just both good at evaluating talent. Freeze is better at convincing top prospects to come (Robert K., Treadwell, Tunsil), Mullen is better at developing players and finding gems (Chris Jones, Dak Prescott, D'runnya Wilson)
Mullen is in his 8th year now. He was hardly new in 2013. The fact is that both places are a more attractive destination than Baton Rouge or even Auburn these days. The tip top still goes to Bama, but now the two schools have access to the next tier of SEC recruits. Arkansas was never a destination and TAMU is for Texas players.
Is it possible to be this pleb? The entire offense has to be in perfect synch to create the 2 on 1 situations that you need for an option play. It's a lot more complex when you factor in different defensive packages and the fact that every player besides 2 are supposed to be blocked. Every backer, even safeties
The blocking assignments on the O-line are complicated. A major reason they sucked ass this year was without Shaq Mason calling it out, nobody knew who the fuck to block.
A backs come in not knowing how to block on the perimeter, which gets plays blown up. Watch last years ACC championship (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyLMizerYGQ) and then this year's FSU game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpNFu4qCIIk), just looking at the blocking. Also notice the much more vanilla playcalling.
I legitimately believe that both coaches love their school and job to a fault. Freeze more so than Mullen but Mullen has been very loyal. Plus both teams are the ABSOLUTE biggest thing on campus and play in the division with the most respect and exposure every year. Both are making top 20 salary too.
I don't know if >we will ever win an SEC championship but I'm pretty happy with the turnaround. My favorite thing is having NFL talent year in and year out. It seems like we are putting 4-5 guys in every year now where before it was 1 or 2.
ALL of that shit resulted in 1 (one) semi-meaningful win, with Ole Miss beating Okie Lite. The fact that State fans brag about being the first #1 in the CFP is laughable because it shows how little they have, and that's not even considering how absolutely premature and incorrect that ranking was.
Are you saying there is a curse or something else as ludicrous as that? it was a shit tier beta coach who was perfectly fine going 9-3 every year and never winning any big games.
>jawjah fans are literally so dumb they think the only two possible reasons for their unending mediocrity are a bad coach or a boonies-voodoo curse
Color me surprised paisen
Who deserves to be above them though? Nobody below them has really ever done anything relevant, other than a couple of them having a fluke title.
I'd probably put MSU or UW in their place desu senpai, I was just going off of what people said at the time. Don't see a problem with Arky though
A&M is >Clemson tier.
Last conference title was 17 years ago, no relevant national titles and they shit their pants every season
Colorado is >Clemson teetering on Average for being an abomination the last 15 years
Minnesota is below average
Nebraska is not a blueblood
>tfw fcs championship tomorrow followed by nfl playoffs
>There is literally nothing wrong with Taylor Martinez
>Gayker Gayfield is a Kliff Babby.
>Vincent Testeverde is a Kliff Babby
2. Clempson (Very insecure about their school and their ranking btw) (13-0)
3. Northwest Missouri St. (14-0)
4. Jacksonville State Gamecocks (12-1)
5. Harvard (9-1)
6. Houston (12-1)
7. aOSU (11-1)
8. Stanford (11-2)
Can't wait for the Texas v Texas A&M Tom Herman Sweepstakes next offseason
>state is wrongly accused of being super racist because of past actions despite leading the union in elected black officials and black college grads
>had to change mascot because it was considered racist
>preemptively remove state flag from campus under no pressure
>play "Dixie" at every game instead of your fight song because you know your fight song is shit
Classy Ole Miss, classy.
Ole Miss did come out of it being ranked in the top 5 a few times, a Sugar bowl win, and beating Bama back to back for the first time ever.
It might not be super meaningful to the rest of the country, but to Ole Miss, it's HUGE. Remember, they were a 2-10 team just a few years ago. Freeze is working miracles with the team
"I was surprised," Hancock said on Friday. "We thought they might be down a little bit, but they were down more than I anticipated. But we have to remember that we had those noncompetitive games. We know what the factors were. ... We got a little unlucky with the noncompetitive nature of the games. We're just going to have to look at it over the months ahead, but we just don't anticipate any changes."
These are the retards running things. Clemson didn't pull ahead until late in the game and MSU was close at the half. Fuck off faggot.
I know what I said. Clemson is a shit school, I don't know why you retarded hicks think otherwise. Check the rankings. I don't care where the average poster here went, the average person is retarded
Ohio State student here btw
Is Carson Werntz a legit 1st round prospect?
Is this the only reason I should watch this game?
The real answer is who the fuck knows. He's been elite against FCS competition, but who the fuck knows how he'll respond when he has to go up against elite defenses
post teams that will be in the playoffs next year
No. Try next year.
As someone who lives down this way and actually knows what's going on, I can tell you that Ole Miss is gonna get bootyblasted by the NCAA very soon. They're already camped out in Oxford.
I'm not writing Clemson off, I assure you. I'm just saying don't expect to play the Bama that lost to OM.
But, Tbqhf this could get ugly if Saban game-planned properly for Watson.
>tfw when got a 34 in bama
mississippi will always be shit
Congratulations. Your anecdotal evidence about one person that you posted anonymously online on an anime imageboard dedicated to sports completely and totally changes the fact that Botswana has a higher literacy rate than your state does.
Both feel like longshots to be good starters. They both need to develop. Goff had some horrendous games (how many picks did he throw against Utah?) and Lynch got demolished by Auburn's defense.
Lynch really seems like he got lucky. He has fantastic physical tools - I mean he's 6'7" and can run. But he's in the G5, playing a meme offense. He looks like an easy bust. He has tons of development to do.
Goff at least was at a power 5 school and played a more NFL looking offense, but I don't see anything special out of him.
If anything, I like Cook. Not accurate enough to be a legit franchise QB, but could turn out competent enough a la all of the other D'antonio guys - Foles, Cousins, Hoyer, Stanton. He moves well and can make plays. I think he has a better chance of turning out okay than the other two. None of them are worth 1st round picks though.
dak prescott will be the most successful quarterback in the 2016 draft class
I'm responding explicitly because you told me not to. Bob Schoop was DC under Franklin at PSU. Has had a top 25 defense the last 5 years, 3 of which were at Vandy and the latter two at PSU. He was our #1 target and easily the best hire we could have made.
