They are supposed to be either in Homs pocket or Northern Hama.
Training ground is surrounded by a few buildings and next to a small town. Trees in the area are typical for Hama and Homs area. A minaret and factory are supposed to be nearby but haven't been confirmed.

All of the muh amazigh nationalism faggots have come out of their caves and they won't go away for now. I hope they'll run out of steam too, but it seems less and less likely as time passes.

>Morocco’s Hirak protests are the latest bout in the tug-of-war between the Makhzen (Moroccan regime) and the victims of hogra.
Seems biased from the beginning

>The late Mouhcine Fikri, the political prisoner Nasser Zefzafi, and Nawal Ben Aissa have emerged as the emblematic figures of this movement
Former was an unfortunate death where the parties involved were harshly condemned, Zefzafi is a megalomaniac who created a personality cult around himself and seems like an islamist-type too, Nawal Ben Aissa is an attention whore that tried to get herself arrested in order to prove the government was oppressing her and stayed half an hour in front of a police station thinking she'd get imprisoned by muh evil regime before she left as no one cared about her

>Al Hirak al Chaabi, or the Popular Movement, is an independent
>independent
ahahahaahahahah

>the protesters’ demands evolved from mainly socioeconomic grievances into a more potent political message; slogans used in the protests virulently denouncing [...] outright appropriation of the nation’s resources.

>that has been marked by persistent social marginalization and economic deprivation ever since the establishment of Morocco’s territorial borders.
False, Mohammed VI has started to work on the region ever since he took power and shit really started to get worked on in 2015 with a massive project
Corruption slowed it down, but it really started in the past few months

>Thousands are now protesting, demanding that justice be served and the killers held accountable: first by recognizing Fikri’s murder, which has been equated with “the murder of all Rifans” during chants, but also by offering concrete solutions to the crises faced by ordinary Moroccans. This would include socioeconomic reforms to lower youth unemployment and ease the rising cost of living, but also structural reforms to benefit sectors such as education and health, both of which are neglected by the state budget.
First off, the killer has been held accountable along with the corrupted parties. Dunno what else they could be asking for. "recognizing Fikri's murder" as if it hasn't been since day 1?
>socioeconomic reforms to lower youth unemployment
Lazy fucks in the region
>ease the rising cost of living
...? Food is subsidized and cheap, what do they mean by that?
>benefit sectors such as education
Education is 13.5% of our national budget, it isn't "neglected" at all, this is retarded and wrong. Morocco failed at mass schooling, we don't have enough professors since arabization destroyed the existing workforce and classes are crowded because the budget is drained by corruption. This is the issue that needs to be fixed, not throwing more money at it

>The brutal murder of Mouhcine Fikri and arrest of Nasser Zefzafi are symptomatic of Morocco’s entrenched social inequalities. They also demonstrate the Makhzen’s bare, yet sophisticated, politics of repression throughout the kingdom, and more specifically in the Rif
Bullshit. Nasser Zefzafi is a dangerous guy, he attacked an imam and should be jailed for that, no matter what anyone says. Back in the days of Hassan II, everyone involved in these protests would have disappeared and the army would have shot protesters with live round: saying the Makhzen hasn't involved in dealing with this is completely wrong. They have never interrupted a protest except when it turned violent, what more do they want? I fucking hate these cunts.

>Since late May, the solidarity demonstrations taking place in Morocco’s largest cities have been met with violence and arrests
lies

>while the government continues to utterly ignore the core grievances of the protesters.
Again lies, they unlocked a fuckton of money and accelerated all projects in the region, but this shit takes more than a few days, it's not the king's fault if the city is super isolated

>Demonstrators claim that riot police forces received direct orders to assault protesters who did not comply, while the defense attorneys of those incarcerated by the authorities allege that their clients were subjected to torture and abuse while in police custody.
Even Zefzafi admitted he was treated well by the police and wasn't tortured, lies again

>Pictures and video recordings circulating on social media show the serious injuries that protesters continue to suffer.
Gotta remind them around 60 police cars were burnt by protesters along with 400 wounded policemen since the protests started?

>Morocco’s highly repressive Penal Code, promulgated in 1963, is in fact a revised version of the Napoleonic Code of 1810, which was extended in 1953 by the French colonial apparatus to severely crush the “terrorist nationalist movement” and to punish the resistance of local populations against their oppressive rulers.
I don't even know where they're trying to go with this...

>Following independence in 1956, King Hassan II used the same French project to increase his authoritarian grasp on the country. More recently, King Mohamed VI has been in charge of reforming the Penal Code, in partnership with the government. This façade of reform aims to bolster the state apparatus while simultaneously narrowing the spectrum of civil liberties in the name of national security.
Oh, alright.

>The methods inherited from colonization and currently used by the government are doing little to appease the basic demands of a population hungry for equal opportunities and social justice.
They're grasping at straws now.

>Moreover, the figures and symbols of the Hirak are consistently employed by the nationalist media to discredit the movement’s goals and message
Well yeah, if you use separatist symbols you're going to get shit on by nationalists when not a single Moroccan flag can be seen in any of the protests

>Zefzafi is facing heavy charges for threatening national security and receiving foreign aid, crimes for which he is likely to face the death penalty or a long prison term, depending on the judge.
>death penalty
???

>Videos of protesters tearing up their Moroccan passports circulating on the internet show their refusal to pledge allegiance to a state that no longer represents them.
State is actually passing a law that will prevent these people burning their passports or the Moroccan flag from coming on Moroccan soil, kek

>In a manifest effort to continue the contestation, female figures such as Nawal Ben Aissa, a 36 year old mother of four, have rapidly come to the forefront of protests and provided new faces for the movement. Ben Aissa announced in a video, which subsequently went viral, that she was turning herself to the police after an arrest warrant was issued against her on 1 June. She was interrogated and released shortly afterwards.
Lies, she claimed herself that she was interrogated and released but independent/international journalists have shown that she actually stood in front of the police station for a few minutes then left

>While the government has issued several general blanket statements on the situation, the propagandist media is stoking popular fear by suggesting that public demonstrations could degenerate into a complete breakdown of law and order similar to the ongoing crises in neighboring Libya and Syria. This narrative has worried the larger Moroccan public and led to ambivalent reactions.
Well yeah, this is to be expected, isn't it?

>the underlying reasons of the current uprisings, although they began in the Rif, go beyond regionalism and touch upon the whole social fabric of a nation engulfed in “social and economic despair.”
>a nation engulfed in “social and economic despair.”

They are retards. And most of those retards are those who either spent a good time abroad (mainly in Europe) or are based there.

With that said, Zafzafi and people of Rif aren't for separatism and they're based. The royalty fucked them over for decades and always associated with the colonial powers (Spain and France). The Alawite dynasty sold the country to them.

(keep in mind this is Telquel, one of the most pro-democracy and anti-makhzen "mainstream" journals in Morocco.)

>The royalty fucked them over for decades and always associated with the colonial powers (Spain and France).
Khattabi WE WUZ-ism, right?
It's always easier to defend a complex mountain chain like the rif than plains and valleys like the rest of the kingdom. This isn't a betrayal, as there are plenty of resistance heroes in the 1910's. Abdelkrim El-Khattabi was a great warrior, but he's idolized too much by riffians in comparison to other figures.

If the royalty didn't settle down after 1918, they'd have been completely scrapped and Morocco wouldn't have become a protectorate but a colony. The resistance was very active afterwards, especially in cities like Casablanca and Rabat in the form of guerrillas.

The alawite didn't sell shit.

Was Mohammed VI fucking over the rif? I"m not talking about Hassan II, I'm talking about the guy who launched an absolutely huge number of projects in the region 2 years ago.

Zafzafi is alpha as fuck. And sure some of his rhetoric can have flaws. But that goes with the Makhzen as well.

>Khattabi WE WUZ-ism, right?
Actually even after Khattabi the people of Riff got fucked by the govt.

Anyway, the royalty sold the country to Spain and France. You can't defend that. The excuse that France was going to win eventually is BS. A hard fought insurgency in mountains would have been taxing for a France that also was going to fight a major war. Sure the King may not have foreseen WW1 but it's not like Europe looked like it was going to be peaceful either.

>Mohammed VI fucking over the rif?
The system is more than just the king. It's made up of many elites and includes key police figures. The corruption and asshole attitude of cops is present in the north of Morocco, perhaps even more than in other places.

But it was already over. Spain sent a 200k men-strong inquisition and bombed it all with mustard gas. People were dying left and right. What more do you want? For the region to be completely depopulated? Rif already has one of the highest cancer rates in the world, who fucking knows what would've happened if they decided to fuck with colonial powers even more.

Morocco's pacification lasted from 1907 to 1937. If that's not resisting, then what is it?

>sure some of his rhetoric can have flaws
When the guy goes on random islamist rants on Mawazine, says "Allah, al walid, Al Khattabi" rather than "Allah, al watan, al malik" and was criticising the whole monarchic system heavily when he was still doing videos in Al Hoceima before the whole Mohcine Fikri shit, what do you call that?

>that goes with the Makhzen as well.
I'm not seeing the makhzen being unreasonable right now. I'm seeing fucktards who have learned nothing of the arab spring and the consequences of what happened.
The gov has already done a lot in the past few weeks for the region and is actively working on the projects now. Is that not enough? Why continue the protests?

>It's made up of many elites and includes key police figures. The corruption and asshole attitude of cops is present in the north of Morocco, perhaps even more than in other places.
And you're going to get rid of this by chimping out and protesting? Tanger was especially bad too back then, but ever since the Tanger Med project was finished, it's a really nice and dynamic region now and corruption/police repression has lowered a lot. It's characteristic of places where not a lot of shit happens (like the rif). Give it time and it'll fix itself, strong institutions and democracy aren't decreeted but built.
>>
>>129541137
Don't believe I'm excusing the Makhzen for their corruption, by the way. I despise how Morocco is a cash-cow for the royal establishment and how pretty much everything needs corruption to work, but this is NOT the way to go about it and ensures things won't change due to how much it's dividing the country and how it pushes regionalism. For example, the FGD is a great party that pushes for education, health, and development of "abandoned" regions of the country, but no, you faggots prefer to vote for more islamists. Omar Balafrej is alone in the parliament for representing the FGD but he's already putting in a fuckton of work, but nobody cares about that, because they'd rather do empty protests as if it'll change something.

Baathism is dead. It's done. Biggest mistake was losing 3 wars against Eretz Zion. Morocco is part of the Arab world but it is also more part of an Amazigh sphere, which desu, can only be led with dignity by Morocco.

>>129541898
Of course the war is over. The problem is that royalty betrayed its people. That's the issue. The King has to make at the very least a public apology.

>Rif already has one of the highest cancer rates in the world
It doesn't. It has a higher cancer rate than the rest of the Morocco. And the chemical attacks of the early 20th century have nothing to do with today's cancer rates.

>what do you call that?
Criticism. Again it's not without flaws. Criticizing isn't always a bad thing.

>I'm not seeing the makhzen being unreasonable right now.
They sent cops to harass Zazafi for weeks before his arrest. Makhzen gets puppet imams involved in the political discussion. They strawmanned the protests saying it was separatist. Arrested someone for calling out a mosque used for being a govt port parole.

>the consequences of what happened.
Morocco isn't Syria or Libya. It's much more homogeneous in ethnicity and religion than former and far less tribal than the latter.

>Give it time
If you think this is solely about economy you're wrong.

>>129542275
There is nothing wrong with protesting.
>FGD
Nigger please. FGD never ruled. You have no basis to judge them. Words are just that: words. Their promises is empty until it's proven to work. Also socialists are cancer. Look at Venezuela. It's an oil rich country (more oil than Saudi Arabia) and it's a mess because lefties are incompetent.

>islamists

Egypt is looking like it might stand to lose a few diplomatic alliances in africa too.
>Although Saudi Arabia has been aggressively courting Sudan in recent years, Khartoum remains on the fence, having welcomed Qatar’s emir on a state visit last year. That visit caused its own bizarre controversy: when the emir’s mother, Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser, visited the ancient pyramids in northern Sudan, Egyptian media reacted furiously, accusing Qatar of promoting Sudan’s pyramids while ignoring those of Egypt.
>The incident, while frivolous, underscores just how sensitive both countries are too any kind of perceived slight. Qatar has also played a leading (albeit largely unsuccessful) role in mediating between Bashir’s government and various rebel groups, holding several rounds of peace talks in Doha.
>This puts Sudan in an awkward spot: Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic offensive against Qatar leaves it caught between two key allies, and – once again – at odds with its neighbour Egypt. In a bid to resolve this dilemma, Sudan has offered to lead ‘reconciliation’ efforts between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, although no one has yet shown any interest in taking up this offer.

I could already write what the history books will say about Syria
>Obama was great but he should have killed Assad but we aren't being racist by criticizing him
>Trump was a fucking idiot all of Syria was fucked up by him he could have fixed it all but we liked that he bombed Syria but bombed it idiotically
>Assad is evil baby killer moderate rebels were betrayed because Assad made them ally with Al-qaeda and ISIS and then be so weak that they couldn't beat ISIS or Al-Qaeda
>Assad is the cause of the refugee crisis which wasn't really a crisis at all because it brought all the doctors and engineers who are all innocent children and women but were being used by Russian agents to rape women and help the rise of the far right
Honestly /sg/ level of conversation will be higher in subject matter if not language than the history books

>IS leader ordered Marawi siege – Rody

The leader of the Islamic State (IS) himself ordered the siege of Marawi City, which has been ravaged by prolonged clashes between government forces and Maute militants for the past three weeks, President Duterte said yesterday.

Speaking to reporters in Cagayan de Oro City, Duterte said IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi “specifically ordered the conduct of terroristic activities in the Philippines.”

“We had known all along the buildup here in Marawi. That is why if you were tracking my statements in public, (what I said) was, ‘Do not force my hand into it.’ Because there were already terroristic acts… the victims were innocent men and women and children,” Duterte said.

“We suffered several casualties. I did not expect it to be that serious. Now, lumabas na si Baghdadi mismo (it turned out that Baghdadi himself), the leader of the ISIS, has specifically ordered terroristic activities here in the Philippines,” he added.

There has been terrorist activites since the 90's, muslim rebellion ever since the end of the 19th century
The jihadists were already in the village under the disguise as ordinary civilians under a big Muslim festival there. They stocked up weapons and supplies in sympathizers' homes and spent months making foxhole complexes. Leaked videos and intel shows that this was a long planned attack

They planned to actually storm the entire city under Ramadan, but was cut short after Police tried to raid one of their compounds which was believed to be were the IS leader of the Philippines, Isnilon Hapilon was hiding on May 23rd

I have a feeling this is a likely scenario too. Plenty of jihadist rapefugees import weapons illegally, stock them up in some small city full of """moderate"""" sympathizers. Then one day, they will conduct a mass assault with recruited young jihadists, take shitton of people hostage and block all logistical roads to the city. Multiply this with a few more cities, and you have a defacto caliphate in Europe if you won't consider the current situation a caliphate already

What do they gain by disrupting a country like morocco ?

Ooooh, it will be the SHORTEST sea route for migrants into europe. It also borders algeria, and we all know north africe is a jihadist factory. If morocco falls, spain and then france will be FLOODED.

It will happen on a small scale. But I can't imagine jihadists holding cities for long.
>>
>>129572479

They're in the advanced stages in France already. Few towns like that here too, but you just need to know where they are and to stay well away from them in the case SHTF. People will probably unite against them though if they get too large.

They could if they take alot of human shields, making air strikes difficult

PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL THIS WOMT BE HAPPENING
>>

Rockefeller, not Soros as far as I'm aware of.
>>
>>129572874

Depends on their numbers and how the authorities react. If they have large numbers of unarmed mobs supporting them as a kind of human sheild to cause disruption then they'll probably dig in for some time. We saw during the London riots just how close the police were to losing complete control of London in the space of only 48 hours of sporadic rioting. Add in some armed rebels and that'd take a whole city or large town within 72 hours before any sort of response can push back.

yeah just checked it was Rockefeller

i can just imagine how long soros will live with all his money

i can just imagine him becoming like the master or mr.house of fallout just a giant husky lump of skin attached to a computer he will be like 200 years old in his bunker still handing out orders to his sons so THEY can keep doing his work meanwhile hes legally dead but hes a brain in a jar attached to a compute o some shit

watch ill be proven right there probably already researching that shit
>>
>>129573389
You know they're already researching this, maybe not brains in test tubes but similar attempts at immortality. At the very least, we know that they're sucking the blood out of young people in order to rejuvenate their bodies.
