i'm supposed to be a super open-minded, intelligent, and sophisticated liberal. but at the same time i haven't been able to find any truly compelling arguments that debunk white nationalism. if anything i keep finding more and more things proving that it makes sense.i feel like i'm losing my mind.

(pic is of lord byron, prob the most influential romantic poet. for anyone who doesn't know, romanticism was the first modern artistic movement that venerated northwest-european culture, as opposed to the classical revival of the renaissance and the age of enlightenment. romanticism would go on to inspire european nationalists throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. there were some awful people inspired by it..... like hitler comes to mind. but on the other hand it also inspired gothic literature, fantasy stories including jrr tolkien, and a lot of imo valid appreciation for distinct national identities in europe)

Congress is going to work and keep the momentum the program has going for it and pass something by the end of September. Congress didnt want DACA away with because no one ever tried to fight it. Until bored grumpy ass old men from Texas threatened trump 5 years after green lit by Obama.

You are going to have to say every republican is a RINO because most of the GOP didn't mind daca in the first place and you'll be looked at like a racist if you don't let these kids live here.
But everyone can get something out of this if done correctly.

Since Ireland is becoming apparently relevant to me again I'd like to know about it.

Could someone (ideally an actual bogger and not some autist that's also from jolly old england) give me a brief summary of the current political climate of the Republic of Ireland, and that of Northern Ireland?

Specifically, I'd like to know:

>Are DUP/Sinn Fein actually liked or are they just voted in to balance power
>How powerful or popular/what share of the electorate do Sinn Fein have in the republic
>Is there a "unionist" (i.e-rejoin the UK) movement in the republic
>How left/right leaning is the current ruling party of the Republic?
>What needs to change/improve in your opinon?
>How do you think Brexit will affect you, and why?

I'm inquiring because I don't form opinions about countries I don't know much about, and I know fuck all about Ireland beyond some general history.
I know we're going to lose Northern Ireland to you at some point but from what I hear I shouldn't be too upset about that.
