Hello /ovg/, /simg/ sent me here:

I have a question and couldn't find my answer in the wiki.
So I bought wheel, a Logitech G29, to join the wheel master race (step up from controller).
Now I set it up for Assetto Corsa all accordingly to the various tutorials on the internet and at least the input lag isn't there. The wheel on the screen moves like my own.
However, two issues have arosen:

1. The braking pedal feels like shit. I have to push harder than I ever had to push in my own car to bring it to 100%. I have read about removing that piece of rubber, but won't it get too light then? Or does anybody have an idea how to simulate the higher resistance when stepping really hard on a braking pedal? I thought of instead of just removing the rubber block, I could replace it with foam or something. Also, as someone suggested earlier, messing with brake sensitivity doesn't work in this case for a satisfying solution. It would just decrease the way the pedal can travel.

2. How strong does the ffb have to be? I have ffbclip installed and it regularly sets the ffb so that I barely can turn the wheel. Is it because racing cars don't have servos or is it just too strong? When I set the gain to 50% in the options and leave ffbclip at 100%, it feels almost like my own car.

PCars has great visuals, but car physics are abysmal: touring cars float, open wheels float, lightweight gt3 maneuver like a fridge full of bricks.

You want your FFB low enough so it doesn't clip. If you put the pedals app on your screen, you see 4 bars. The grey one represents FFB. If it goes up all the way and turns red it clips. Similar to a speaker, if it clips you lose information so you obviously don't want that to happen

If you just can't press the pedal fully remove the rubber bit. But as long as you don't upgrade to an expensive load cell, the force you're applying on the pedal is meaningless.
FFB is driver preference. Some disable it altogether. If you feel like 50% is what you want, go for it. I'm usually in the 30% region myself.

I got this wheel a couple months ago because it seemed like the best entry level wheel, but I already feel like I've outgrown it.

I mainly want to drift, and I've concluded that it's pretty much impossible. It only has 180 degrees of steering (a bit more but no input after). It's super autistic on Assetto where each vehicle has a different max angle. I played just fine before with a Dualshock 4, so I get how to do the dorifto, but I can't apply it to this wheel. I really want to get a G920 because in addition to degrees and the shifter, FFB and dedicated software sounds so comfy.

What I'm here to ask is, am I an unsatisfiable cunt or do I really need to upgrade?

Hype for cars like the Supra is always very high and then there's all the hype for the AE86 now that Initial D and Eurobeat have become memes. Bragging about NFS being the only game where you can customize these specific cars would seem pretty likely. But then again, it wouldn't be. I dunno.

I just don't believe EA has changed in that aspect and always goes for exclusive licenses that hurt the video game industry as a whole.
