Especially when the app is just the same as the fucking browser version, minus the giant pop-ups saying you should use the app.
Oh, and the lack of tracking shit.
>>
>>17454695
Literally just look in the reply window, or just don't make a new thread when you're on the phone. Threads can survive to like 400 posts, plenty of time for someone who cares enough to take more than 3 seconds to make the thread.
>(How are there so many people who care about the OP they just scroll past anyways?)
muh autism
Plus it takes twice as long to scroll past, and if it's changed that usually means there's new stuff in there, so I waste even more time looking at it before realizing someone just fucked up and couldn't take 10 seconds to make a new thread.

TL;DR if you don't care about the OP format, don't make a new thread.

So why didn't you just buy generic tubes from the hardware store for like a tenth of that? Are numales nowadays scared of going to hardware stores? Are they intimidated by the aura of manliness and the thought of fixing something themselves through manual labor?

Because I just don't have the time to go to all the hardware shops in the area, hoping one actually stocks the right type of tubing and fittings and then making one.

It's way easier to buy the proper part for me. Just call the shop and picking it up when I have some free time.

You might call me a numale for ordering the right parts, but I have to improvise at work enough because supply chain has no idea what the proper shit is. Don't want to do that shit at home when I have better things to do, like celebrating my one free weekend a month.

>>
>>17454918
>never worry about it again

But I don't worry about it again anyway, these tubes will outlast the rest of the bike. And it will just cost me way more time than I'm willing to spend.
When you have 1 weekend a month off, you might see why not everybody wants to make everything himself, but buys pre-made stuff that will fit.

>>17455112
Sure, if you're experienced, otherwise you'd panic for a second, then remember what a retard told you on 4chan and then you'd pull in the clutch.
Surprise! You're now already in the middle of the corner and are about to go down a fucking mountauin while still pulling the clutch.
>>
>>17455123
if you're downshifting through a corner you've already fucked up
>>
>>17455109
You don't downshift in the corner, you downshift before leaning, while approaching the corner, i.e. in a straight line.
If you're already leaning, and you can't handle your rear sliding, and you drop the bike, you're not going to make the corner. If you clutch out instead the rear regains traction and the bike goes upright. You can now brake and still make the corner (because as a sensible rider, you left enough room for error on a public road), or keep the clutch pulled in and run into the gravel pit (because if you can't make the corner anymore, you didn't leave enough room for error, which means you must be on a track).

Anything else means you're such a good rider, you don't need this advice (i.e. you can handle the rear sliding and still make the corner safely), or you're a shit rider and deserve to crash (i.e. when you went street Rossi mode on public roads and have to run off the road down a cliff).
>>
>>17455125
>>17455133
Never said "in the corner" or "through the corner".
I don't know about you but I always downshift to second just before a hairpin. Not much time to correct mistakes, especially if you're not experienced and you're downhill.

Pull the clutch before a left hand downhill hairpin and you're in for a 100 meters fall.
>>
>>17455146
If you're not experienced, you should be
a) braking and downshifting much earlier to give yourself room for mistakes,
b) taking classes that provoke panic reactions and train you to react appropriately instead,
c) not riding like a fucking idiot.

i've found the opposite

They'll flop right over into the opposite lean angle with glee and the riding position pretty much encourages you to look around the bike, keep your head up (or you can't see shit), and anchor yourself with your legs (or you can't feel your fucking wrists)

Sportbikes are great to learn to ride at countersteering speeds.

Shit like U turns sucks on them though. I still shit myself when I have to lean going slower than 10mph, so my U turns are as wide as they've ever been. Riding a motorcycle really is mostly about having balls.

Friend got some Honda 125 scooters to test and review and he lent them to me as well. I'm genuinely jealous of the luggage space under the seats and the riding position which allowed me to have a fully erect spine while riding for the first time. Shame about the autotragic and engine. Keyless system is convenient and would have me worried about reliability if I owned the things.

I think I'm going to blow money on bags for the sv650s. Nothing I can do about riding position there except take breaks. Next life I'll buy something comfier.

You shift for the hairpin. You do hairpins in 3rd gear or straights before a hairpin in 2nd gear?

Never said the opposite of the other things you say, I simply responded to your advice of pulling the clutch when your rear tire slides before a hairpin. If it's a massive slide to me the best solution is obviously to let the bike go and lowside instead of highsiding down the cliff or ride outside the road because you pulled the clutch to close to the hairpin.

harleys vary in comfort but are rarely truly comfy because your feet are too far forward to stand up for a bump, or just to stretch, so you get abominations like extra footpegs up front for stretching and another set further back (or longer floorboards) for standing. all for the "badass" look of riding around posed like a starfish.

the "chair" position is the best for comfort, period.

Bike has a lot of trouble starting up, and the idle gets lower and lower before eventually stalling.

It's a YBR 125.

google suggests I adjust the idle screw and make it run a bit richer to fix it, but I can't find where the idle screw is. Apparently its a brass screw but there's no brass screw to be seen on my engine.
>>
>>17455655
here >>17453593
>>
>>17455672

They are right, you should adjust your idle screw.

It will be on or near your carburetor.

I am assuming since your idle is decreasing and then stalling, that you are not fuel injected

cant find your carburetor?

follow your gas line from your tank to the carburetor, The carburetor takes fuel and mixes it with air, and then jets in the carburetor inject this fuel and gas mix into the combustion chamber to create ignition/compression/etc.

So I rode my 800$ Katana 600 yesterday for the first time. The front end is definitely bent or way out of alignment because the bike really doesn't like to turn left and feels just pretty damned weird but oddly it tracks fairly straight but then again that is probably gyroscopic forces. Anyway what should I do? Buy a used front end? Try to straighten it out? It's rideable but definitely not perfectly safe. I can do the work myself too btw

It's a Suzuki SV650S from 1999.

I'm still quite uncertain about changing gears, I can never understand when I should be changing them and there's always this "breaking" when I change them to a higher one.

Any tips for a smooth gear change?

2001 owner here, upshift whenever you like above 5k, downshift when below 4 or 3k. "Breaking" means you shift too early and start underrevved?

You'll figure it out soon enough. Pro tip, in the city it's almost never worth shifting to 3rd gear, 2nd does anything up to 50kmh without trouble.
>>
>>17455982
>America has freedom of speech
Nice one.
You've got more arabs than my country.
>>17456030
Look into rev matching.
Upshift at higher rpms if you don't want all that engine braking, engine braking is your ally when you want to stop or decelerate or downhill.
Personally I wouldn't upshift on a SV in town up until 4-5k rpms and at least 6-7k or redline when accelerating out of the city.

Take some time to get confident with the bike but the sooner you get into downshift rev matching the better.
Don't forget your front brake is your primary brake but when you're doing slow speed maneuvering use the rear brake.

Have fun.

>in the city it's almost never worth shifting to 3rd gear, 2nd does anything up to 50kmh without trouble
I find myself comfortable in 3rd gear after about 45 kmh, with the 2nd gen though. Sometimes I cruise at just above 4k if I don't need to accelerate and want to save fuel.
Also because engine breaking in 2nd gear is strong as fuck.

"A 50cc scooter requires a $5 three-year registration. You do not need an additional driver's license. You can park a 50cc on all Denver sidewalks for free. Scooters above 50cc require a license plate and motorcycle license and must be parked, and paid for, on the street"

The definition of a moped under Colorado law is a vehicle with no more than 3 wheels and an engine capacity of no more than 50 ccs or 4,476 watts. Most scooters fall under this category, though some are powerful enough to fall under the motorcycle category.

I could always count on 50cc bikes / scooters to reach 50MPH, but that's it. Kommiefornia revised our Vehicle code last year to reclassify mopeds as motorcycles, requireing insurance and an M1/M2 license for all...

However, in doing so, it appears that they inadvertently eliminated all remaining restrictions on Go-peds. Further research is needed, but it appears that epic nitrous turbo gopeds are now leagal in CA

After riding for 5 years on different style bikes (adventure, cruisers, but mainly sport) I've realized I've never really set my bikes up perfectly for me. I've been watching hours of videos on rearset positioning, gear shifter postions, suspension tuning and best body positions to use and realize I've been doing a lot wrong.

>Rearset
I've left my gsx-r in stock position since I brought the bike new, as well as gear shifter. I didn't dabble with the suspension but kept putting it back to stock settings
>Body positions
I've always managed to get my tyres chicken strip free, and can blister tyres easily. But reality is I've never knee dragged and it's because I don't put the ball of my foot on an angle to get my knee out and throw my bodyweight over more

I know dbt is usually just shit posting but does anyone have any top videos or articles on getting the bike perfectly set up for myself? I don't have any friends who ride and taught myself to ride so I never learnt properly and probably have a few bad habbits. I've always been the quickest at the local Twisties so thought I was doing things right but I've probably got a long way to go.

>Tldr
Best way to set up rear sets, suspension, body positions?

I have been restoring a 1981 Honda CB250N which is basically 400N with smaller engine. I had the 17 HP cam version, where I already replaced with 27 HP cam, but as far as my knowledge goes, theres still something to do with carbs' tops (they are different in those 2 versions). I don't really want to buy new used carbs from overseas since I'm an europoor and camshaft already was fucking expensive. Do you anons have any idea if I can regulate my carbs to fit freshly mounted, sharper camshaft?

Different sized jets and needles can be used to tune a carb to the correct fuel curve, but you're limited by the size of your carburetor. Basically you're going to have to find someone that knows this bike in and out or has done this before, or you're going to have to do it from scratch.

What I was referring to was a spray can job lol. I sanded and painted 100x till it was perfect and it was perfect when I saw it years later.spray can jobs get a bad wrap since most people don't sand properly, don't do enough coats, or use paint not suitable for gas tanks etc.
You've inspired me to look for a new project. I thought I'd be happy buying a brand new bike but it's the worst. I did exhaust, screen, tail tidy, tank pads, few other bits and pieces within two weeks of buying it and now there's nothing left for me to do except quickshifter.

Well, I had this kind of feeling too, like, buying a brand new bike would be cool, could just enjoy riding it without a need to do any maintenance. But buying an oldish bike, spending hours on refurbishing and seeing how your bike is getting more attention on the road than some liter or sporty 600 is great. Nevertheless, it kind of sucks, when my equals are already enjoying the season on their newer bikes and I'm stuck in my garage. But, damn, wait till it's finished.

I'm looking at bikes on CL for general transportation. I don't need, nor can I afford a liter bike. I just need a sport/ss 500-650CC bike from a recent year that isn't complete shit like my current bike for under $3k, and this fits the bill.

Also, there's this Suzuki 2008 GSX650F:

Also this 2009 Kawasaki ER6n 650 (got posted an hour ago)

Kawasaki is newer, closer, and has better age/usage stats, but looks kind of lame in the front. It looks like a templar with cancer lumps or something. Maybe it's just the pictures, though.
