every now and then people float the idea of using something else and it seems like that usually spurs the owner(s?) into a spurt of activity and we end up continuing with what we have.

I've seen some decent suggestions of existing map app/services that fit what we need and some hand-rolled things people have made specifically for this, but unfortunately can't remember names atm.

here's hoping people who have some ideas/preferences about maps post them in this thread for some feedback instead of something getting slapped in the OP of next thread randomly

It's semi-dead among realifers, but that just makes it easier for y'all to infest.

Is there already a /dbt/ group on there? Anybody used the app before?

>repost because no one complemented me or helped me

Repainted my exhausts and currently doing tank (sorry for phonepost pic), and also doing some carb work.

While everything's taken apart, I've decided to do some cleaning. I've decided to replace some old hoses and shit, but what's the best way to clean the 'engine bay' without damaging electronics? Can I just unplug battery and hose the internals down provided all intakes are sealed, or will the leftover water minerals and shit cause shorts even after its dried?

What do you guys think?
Would be my first bike so I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking some glaring flaw.
KBB says it's an '01 SV650 is worth 1850 in excellent condition which this is not, but it is KBB.
Would 1700 be too low?
Am poorfag so I don't have a ton of dosh to toss around.

I wish KLRs weren't so much.

I would check it out, find a couple (not nitpicky) flaws and go slightly below the max you're willing to pay, then haggle and 'give in' to your max.

It does look pretty decent, ad poster doesn't seem to be trying any bullshit. Go for it.

It's because they actually think about the mechanics a bit more than not at all. They try to make their shit reliable, they try to make their shit simple to work on, and they compete with each other.
>>
>>17449911
Riding school teaches you how to prevent panic situations, not how to deal with panic situations when you actually get into them.
And man, you must not have been to YouTube, ever. The number of American riders that can't even take a gentle curve is staggering. I am thinking about that one from r*ddit in particular, on his NInja 300, who absolutely couldn't not go straight into a field and drop his bike.

Sorry I thought the intricate cone courses you have were supposed to prove familiarity with how to steer a motorcycle. Do they take place at 10kmh?

There are 9 exercises and they are all easy as shit.
http://www.fahrlehrerverband-berlin.de/pdf_formulare/Strategiepapier.pdf
TL;DR most of them are at 30 km/h, the evasion manoeuvres and emergency braking start at 50 and the rest is walking pace.
I was more referring to them not teaching proper BP, where to look when you're panicking, and not to brake in corners. Sure, they TELL you about that stuff, but you never get a chance to practice it if you're just trying to get through the courses and to get your license. 45 minute lessons cost like 50 € each and even then instructors won't risk their bikes by intentionally getting students into hairy situations.
And finally, I was overtired that day which impaired my judgment and my reactions.

It's over. YOU cannot recover from this. >aircooled vtwin
>80hp, 50 ft-lb torque

h-how is that possible? shouldn't the aircooled bike be way less powerful? the engine is only marginally larger and in the same insurance bracket and the bike is quite a bit lighter because it doesn't have watercooling.
>>
>going to be doing test in unfamiliar roads

Is this a bad idea?
>>
>>17450332
Not really. If my memory serves me right a lot of the reason behind moving to watercooling are emissions. Watercooled engines have a narrower window of operating temperatures and therefore more predictable emissions control. Watercooling doesn't do much for power unless an aircooled equivalent would overheat in the same situation.

>“Everything about our original line of motorcycles, including our elegant filigree logo, was created with women in mind, but it’s 2017, and there’s no reason not to have a bike for the guys as well,” said CEO Matthew Levatich, adding that while men often admire the performance of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, they generally can’t imagine actually owning something so frilly and feminine themselves. “We were hesitant because the name ‘Harley-Davidson’ is so synonymous with women that any rebrand seemed impossible, but when men get a look at this Harley—in black or silver, not hot pink—they’re going to want to get their hands on one, the same way the ladies have since we were founded in 1903.”

I was just riding muh Grom out in the rain and entered a roundabout. Everything was fine up until I decided to exit it where the back wheel started thrashing from side to side and decided to slide itself forward ahead of my front wheel. My friend says it might have been due to diesel on the road. What do you lads think? I thought it might have been because I was riding it too hard or something.
