I wasn't looking for a Honda, but I found a mint condition 91 CRX owned by some grandfather, and I could tell the car was dying to be driven. It's incredibly slow (90 horsepower), only has two seats, and was even more base-level than the civic of its day. But I love it to death because of how light it is, how handsome it is, and most of all how eager it is. There are shit tier economy cars, and there are economy cars that can put a smile on your face every day. And Honda falls pretty much entirely in the latter

Hey guys, I bought a Kia Forte5 SX, and its just not quite what I wanted out of a car. Luckily, I won't have it much longer.

Here's a super secret tip

When you put the ignition into the 2nd position, the check engine light should light up for 2 seconds. If it doesn't, the person selling it has removed the bulb.

If you are buying a stock and unmolested honda, don't really worry about too much except rust and it running like shit.

If you are looking at something that someone has dicked with, check the block, head, and tranny markings, and identify the ECU being used.

Look for hackjob wiring and twist and tape fixes etc

Would a late nineties / earliest of 2000s prelude make a decent car for someone looking to learn more about cars and basic maintenance? I'm looking for something decently reliable, manual, and fun to drive.

I'm a uni student so I usually just use the bus. I'd probably drive 50km every couple weeks through the city, but would need the ability to do about 250km of highway driving maybe once or twice a month to visit my girlfriend. So a car that won't leave me on the side of the road would be nice.

It seems like the prelude would be a good fit for me but if anyone has other recommendations please let me know
