I am completely in love with it, nothing I've ever seen looks even remotely similar. I don't know if a different color will make it better for you, but I like it most in silver, reminds me of pre-war planes with corrugated body work. Also it's full of engineering.

I paid 2 million won for it, it's a 2016 model with bugger all mileage, options were surprisingly limited as a non korean speaker, i could have gotten a CBF125 for 1,600,000 at the same place but this bike was just nice

Just get a cheap rain suit if you don't have anything else. I don't know what's available where you live, but in the US you can get a cheap-ish set of rain jacket and pants for ~$20-30 at the market. Bring a roll of heavy duty tape even if you're that worried so you can cinch it down around your wrists and ankles to keep water out.

Bring a sweater to wear under your jacket.

I did this on my KLR 650 a few years ago. Switched back to stock a few months later.

Dropped 450 rpm at 65 mph.

MPGs dropped from about 48/49 to about 38.

Lower top speed.

4/10 would not do again.

Right, help me decide,

F800ST or TDM 900?

The two things I can think of for the F800ST is the belt drive, onboard computer and amazing gas mileage. Also looks nicer imo.

Otherwise, the TDM 900 is more comfortable and has a bit more power.

They are both pretty much the same price.

Let's be real here for a second.

Aftermarket exhausts, are they even worth it? All the ones available for my bike are fiberglass packed designs that require occasional re-packing.

Manufacturer says every 8-10 hours, which is fucking ridiculous and I can't imagine would be worth it for anything but a pure race bike. What's more, they're all rivet together designs. Other sources say you can go quite a bit longer.

The only exhaust I found that doesn't use fiberglass packing is pretty ugly unfortunately. I've done a handful of simple performance mods to my bike including carb work, intake work, and removing all the cali emissions shit. I was given a flatslide carb for free that I haven't installed yet, and I'm worried now that my exhaust is the thing holding my bike back.

What do?
>>
>>17004440
Well the CG was designed specifically for the third world. If you don't live there and have a dealer network locally I would take the risk on one of the modern EFI 125's. Chances are it won't fail on you. Everything else about the bike will still be as simple and self servicable as a CG.
>>
>>17004510

>>
>>17004512
when you're talking about tiny engines, it's not a big deal
>>
>>17004440

Carbs are fine. They don't require maintenance unless you let your bike sit without draining the carb and the gas spoils. They can also get clogged if you fill up with dirty, shit grade fuel, but that's easily avoidable with a simple inline fuel filter.

Something goes wonky in an EFI system and you need a repair tech or new parts. Nothing breaks in a carb, there's nothing TO break.
>>
>>17004510
Sounds like you got a dirt bike of some sort. Exhausts will rarely make any significant difference to performance unless they put some pea-shooter can on there for the sake of meeting emissions and noise standards to make it street legal.

>>
>>17004531
>Nothing breaks in a carb, there's nothing TO break.
Wrong.
The carb body eventually wears out on slide-throttle style carbs. If the slide is plastic it will wear out as well. Diaphragms and seals will degrade over time. The float needle can lose its ability to seal, or even worse it can get burrs and stick so it won't regulate fuel well. Jets clog up.

XR650L

I bought it with 2200 miles and it's got 20k now. The stock exhaust is bulky, heavy, and restrictive. It's also quiet and maintenance free though. I've done some work on the headers to open the inlets up a bit, installed a uni filter, increased airflow through the air box, removed all the smog crap, and performed some simple carb mods that are recommended for all XR650 owners. My stock exhaust is beat to shit from off road use, and I either need to clean it up and paint it or just replace it.

Yoshimura, Pro Circuit, FMF, DG, Supertrapp, Big Gun, etc all make exhausts but it's hell finding real information on maintenance and db levels for most of them. The guys that ride these bikes seem to only post on forums and the info you're looking for is always scattered between hundreds of threads. Manufacturers don't show cross sections or anything. It's a pain in the ass.

I love the avante guard experimentation in 90s sportbike aesthetics. You had bikes trying to be the gawdiest, fastest things on the streets with no fucking life support.
It was a different time. One where Brett "The Hitman" Hart and Shawn Michaels were wrestling for an hour. Where you could see Kawasaki Ninja Power Wheels commercials. When your math textbook covers were made by art students that fucked a lot of programming students in their college years.

Ideally you want something that comes back over the wrist. Makes the glove a lot harder for the ground to remove it form your hand "in case shit."

But I get it, and on hot days I use short gloves. Get em plenty ventilated, or not.. it barely makes a difference to your palms. The benefit is the lack of cuff allowing more wind up your jacket.
>>
>>17004822
Depends on the glove. Some leather gloves breathe well and some are shit. I'd say just go to a store and try some on. Buying gear online is a good way to be constantly sending shit back.

Aprilia Tuono. The rotax engines are known for being complete nut roasters and the entire frame gets hot to the touch.

The heat output is my biggest complaint about the bike but thankfully it only gets hot enough to really experience it in full force for like 4 weeks out of the year.

R6 is hot? My last bike was an FZ6 and the thing was always so cold, it was the complete opposite side of the spectrum. I was always shivering while on it.

What are your favorite tires, /dbt/? What tires have you had?

Dual sport rider here. I put on probably 70-80% of my miles on road, but I can't commit to pure street tires because I regularly cut off into the dirt and street tires are completely useless in sand or gravel.

Tires I've gone through on my bike

>Shinko 700
Mediocre in every identifiable way. Would not buy again.

>Pirelli Scorpion MX
Pretty standard knobbies. Absolutely beast on mid and soft terrain, sketch as hell on the road.

>Pirelli MT90
Favorite tires I've had so far. Great wear, good street performance, acceptable offroad.

>Continental TKC80
Just ordered a set of these to replace the MT90s which are at their end-of-life. These are the OEM tires on the KTM 690 Enduro and I think one of the BMW adv bikes, so I've got high hopes. Pic related.

>also currently have a bit of a metal pinging noise when the engine runs, both at idle and while moving
At least I confirmed the steering head bearing and probably front fork isn't the issue with the slight clunking I hear when it's nearing a stop. The forks seem fine, so do the brake rotors. I pushed on the rear brake while stopping and it took -forever- to stop. But I still got that slight clunk feeling, however it moved under my feet.
I glued some rubber underneath the loose speedo and at least that's not giving me a speed whistle. I found out a plastic cover underneath the gas tank has one side loose. The slip in the frame broke off at the top. I might be able to jerry rig something.

In some ways I'm regretting buying the Radian. If I took out a loan and bought a better bike, I'd never need to worry about maintaining it. But this way, I can learn more about wrenching on a bike. I just wish Onterrible would let me own two motorcycles without fucking my arsehole even bloodier with insurance payments.

Industry seems to be going more and more towards tubeless, which means I'm either going to have to seal my wheels up, or invest in a second set of wheels. Tire variety is ok for my 18" rear, but my 21" front isn't quite as good.

I've been considering a set of supermoto wheels for a while, but damn wheels are pricey. I could buy a beater motorcycle for the cost of a good set of rims. Might still be worth it though.

Did it just sit outside under a cover for a long time? That's why. Moisture will still get in by evaporating up and condensing on the bike and inside the cover. If the cover is totally waterproof, the moisture gets trapped and the bike wont dry out.

they will ask for records from the shop who did the restriction in the first place, the fact that he dosen't have the papers showing it was restricted by an authorized mechanic is the issue.

the bikes current state dosen't matter.

Get a spray bottle, fill it with oil, and hose your entire bike down. It will stop it from rusting, and if it catches fire while you're riding and incinerates you nothing of value was lost.
