Got a bunch of wiring to do (PDU, charger, dual-camera). I'd normally solder, but there's nowhere I can work on the bike that has a power socket even vaguely nearby, which means crimping. Are the bog-standard red/blue/yellow pre-insulated butt-splice crimps OK (coupled with adhesive heat-shrink for waterproofing), or do I need to splash out on something more specialised?

>SO GIRLS WILL TALK TO ME

If you want this ride all weather year round. You will be asked "Aren't you afraid of crashing?" at least once a day if it is raining and wearing your gear.

Tinder has been good to me since I started putting emphasis on the motorcycle thing. Good in the 'ride your motorcycle over here and fuck me' sense. Women are driven to have sex and have fantasies they want to fulfill just like men. Also, go for a bright colorful helmet & accents. Pair this with black/dark grey jacket and slightly lighter pants. This is basic fashion shit, and if your are going to drop a couple hundred bucks on this stuff, make sure it looks good together. Don't be pic related.

Always carry a skid lid incase some teenage rebel girl wants a ride somewhere down the road.

Is slip-on 'compatibility' really a thing, or are silencers the same damn thing and as long as the bore is the right diameter and you have a mounting bracket that will fit you can slap pretty much anything on anything (barring 2-smokes with their flow nonsense) and it'll work just fine?
>>
>anon's this bootblasted about SAM
>no mention about SEM

>>
>>16926089
used to be slip ons were mostly intercompatible as long as you got the right pipe idameter.

newer bikes (i.e. post-late 2000's) started going to fancy (read:heavy) formfitting underbody exhausts. Mostly to fit cats and have large muffler volumes to meet noise regulations.

With these newer bikes slip ons arent as easy as they used to be. Not just a stright muffler that you slip on a straight pipe. many bikes the exhaust is all one peice from the header to the cats to the muffler with only a superficial slip on being removable and changeable mostly for aesthetics.

Typically the header/muffler/cat peice exits at a cant and is low on the frame requiring a application specific bend in the post-mid pipe and slip on segment. Workable if you can eyeballl it and find something close or do a bit of light fabrication yourself but really its all about buying the right exhaust for your bike.

Gone are the days when you could easily swap one slip on from one bike to a completely different bike easily.

You can thank noise and emissions laws.

You guys are going to the wrong places if women aren't hopping on your dick over your bike.
There's two separate biker bars near where I live that are packed full of women trying to get on some bikers dick.
Granted it helps if you don't have a bitch bike, but I've slept with at least half a dozen women from there because my bike sparked the conversation.

>>16926824
You are wrong. Show me one youtube video or forum post of someone using it on a 701 and I'll buy you a motorcycle.
>>
>>16926797
My bike history:
Mt50, got bored so put a 100cc engine in it
ER5 - passed test, got bored
VFR800 - first big bike and VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO!, more than enough power but got stolen by niggers
Current: GSXR1000, too much for the road but couldn't go back to a smaller bike now. Nice not revving the tits off it to go anywhere but low speed riding <30mph is a chore.

The hypernakeds are geared more for road riding though, and the engine in the gsxs is a detuned version but retains the low down shove. Why are you going from a 300cc to a 750? Because you are bored of the power? My advice would be to try both - if planning to keep get the litre, if you are selling <12 months get something else second hand as you take a big hit in the first 12 month

>>16926687

I rent a suite with enough room for 4 bikes, 4 cars, and another half a garage for storage for $700/month

Storage units are about 300/month for the smallest one (6'x4') here.

It's all Husaberg design though. Yeah parts would be a bitch to get for the 70 degree motor in a few years but meh. It's a cool bike.

The alternative is an FE501 because linkage suspension 500EXC

But I don't have money for either of those sooo.

Comfort is just as much about being fit and having a lot of regular time in the saddle as it as the bike.
I've done 16 hours on a DRZ trying to go from AK to CO offroad. Was a little sore afterwards. That was in the middle of 23 days straight of 8 hours of riding. I had two blisters on my ass by the end but I wasn't stiff of achy at all after the first few days.

Said it was hard to start, had little clutch oil, and your plug was super black. Also, does it smoke alot or does the smoke smell bad? Leaking black shit out the exhaust a bit?
>>
>>16927205
I cleaned off the plug and it started second kick.
Oil was low but I've never changed it, and PO is a friend of mine who's a really shitty mechanic.
Smokes a lot at first but only a little after riding it a bit. Smells nice.
There's a little black spooge coming out of the rotted muffler clamp.

>>
>>16927378
>650cc v twin
>fast as a turbo porsche
dude sv650's top out at like 115, most cars are able to attain that
if you are talking about a straight line to a light, then sure, you would have to drop some serious cash to keep up, but once you hit 115, it's only a matter of time
>>
>>16927369
More that the 500/650 models while having more power than 250/300's aren't the 100hp@13krpm twitch monsters that 600s are. More around 65hp@10krpm. Little less aggressive seat setups too. Seems like the better fallback than a 600?
>>
>>16927420
This. 650's are learner bikes.
>>
>>16927381
sv650 naked tops out at 130
>>
>>16927423
fair enough, any "sporty" car should be able to hit 130 reasonably well enough

what are some cars that would pull on an sv650 from a light, straight 0-60? dealer stock, not modded
>>
>>16927431
C6 ZR1 or Z06 might just beat it out from 0-60
>>
>>16927431
I've always heard a good rule of thumb for supersports is as much horsepower as the bike has CCs, though the SV is obviously not a supersport, I'd figure somewhere in the 400-500 horsepower area.
>>
>>16927381
You're wrong, and also who gives a shit about top speed? I'm taking about 1/4 or 0-60
>>
>>16927448
what would be the fastest street legal bike for a 100m dash?

ive raced some pigfat cruisers off a light, and they went off like a fucking cannon. didnt lift front wheel because lulcruiser, but sweet fucking jesus it looked like it would peel your lips off if you didnt have a full face helmet

somebody mentioned it was some type of new tech for v-twins, but i forget what it was, though it sure makes those 1200-1600cc+ beasts MOVE

>>16927448
ROCKET 3
>>
>>16927457
Probably one of the big power cruisers (VMAX, rocket 3, diavel) though I think a 450 motocross bike with launch control would dominate a short sprint like that.

>>
>>16927448

98% of riders cant get anywhere close to advertised 0-60 or 1/4 mile times. Keep trying though.

>>16927503
Isn't the S1000RR in pin and win it territory as far as electronics go? I mean it's a bit easier for the GT-R driver to not spaz out and slam the steering wheel to the side while he's getting launch controlled into the next postal code than for the bike guy to not unbalance the wheelie but I'd think it's a joke compared to launching a Blackbird or K1.
>>
>>16927546
>bmw
>good electronics
Son...
>>
>>16927546
S1000RR's have terrible wheelie control and the rider still has to manually release the clutch. Doing the best time on an S1000RR will involve not letting the wheelie control cut in and releasing the clutch effectively, this is all very easy to do because S1000RRs are mechanically well sorted but....

A GT-R is literally pressing a button and letting it do it for you, it releases the clutch, you can leave it on auto and the computer just sorts it all out.
