My spacers sit on the bearings, not in them. There is no socket to hold them.

Point Anon was trying to make, it all has to be together BEFORE you put the wheel in the swingarm.

Make, model, year?

The point I'm trying to make is that I can't put it together beforehand because the spacers sit on the bearings, there is no socket to hold them. They'll just fall off

I like it very much.
Its not uncomfortable at all, that guy is just a bitch.
Ive just ridden over 1000km on it this weekend and didnt feel unconfortable on it once.
It feels at home in twisty roads with bad tarmac and trails.
The windshield part is true though. The wind blast your face on the highway, but I dont ride on the highway if I can avoid it so...
the engine makes 45hp, not 37, and coming from a 11hp 125cc feels more than enough to me.
The build quality was tested too this weekend when I dropped it hard on a parking lot and the only damage done was a cracked indicator. I think thats a pass.
>tl, dr: Its a great bike and I love it.

a caliper?
Anyway the vast majoritiy of bars are 7/8" outer diameter on the area with the grips and controls. If they are the same diameter all the way across just get a standard 7/8 bar. If they taper out to be wider in the middle it is most likely a 1-1/8 bar in the clamp area.

first of all don't buy new unless you just like watching your money fly out the window as your awful noob bike you paid too much for slides down the road.

Look for second hand bikes, 650 twins or 250s and 300s are a good start just don't fucking pay too much for it, and educate yourself because nobody can choose what's the perfect beginner bike for you other than yourself.

Oh and when you're riding you're budget, hardy, beginner bike, make sure you actually learn how to ride while you're on it, a lot of people seem to forget this message.

/o/tists dropping like flies these days gotta stay smart to escape it.

I want to buy used, but the prices here make no sense. People wanting 3500 for a 2009 Ninja 300 or a 2013 CBR 300 which was obviously dropped. The cheapest bike I have seen in a month was a CBR125 for 1700, thats including the dozens 20+ year crusiers, which is silly. And the dealer prices on used are only about $1000 less than buying last years model new.

The reason I am so impatient is because I have a traffic course at the end of the month and want to get some road experience before then. I finished my skills test a couple of weeks ago, and haven't been on a bike since.

Don't fall for the 'don't buy new' advice. It doesn't always apply.
If you're not a degenerate poorfag and you're confident in your abilities and smart enough to ride within your comfort zone, only pushing yourself a little at a time, then buy new. Just make sure you know how much maintenance will cost you on top of gear before you decide you can afford it.
My first bike was brand new and I never dropped it because i didn't fall for the chicken strips meme.

Doesn't matter, noobs are going to drop it anyways, if only in the garage, and it doesn't matter how much you read, the chances of you wanting to sell your first bike at the end of your first season for something else is very high, so even if you don't drop it you're still going to take that hit.
Don't buy new until you've been riding for a couple years and know exactly what you like and plan on having for a long time.

cb500 is $6k, but my point still stands. Some people are OK with this. You see it in cars all the time. Hell, look at car leasing:
>make down payment
>make monthly payment
>2 years later "sell" car back to dealer for $0
>also pay for over mileage and dents, so...
>2 years later pay dealer $1k to take it back
>take delivery on a BRAND NEW CAR

And the peeps who do this love it. Just love it. Some folks just love new stuff, even if they scratch and dent it. Of the three bikes I've bought new off the lot, the one I crashed and dropped an dented was loved no less than the others. (Maybe more, it was a great bike)

I was just talking about shit I bought before my baby, the DRZ, but yeah I've since flipped a GL1000 and another Ninja 250, and bought a KX250 and a 701 Supermoto.

>would sell the DRZ if I wasn't so attached to it
>will prolly sell the KX
>really only need 701 for literally all riding I would ever do, dirt track to SLAB

Fuck, typing that post made me realize I need to sell the DRZ. Even if I spend $5k making it a 55whp adventure bike I'll never fucking ride it.

>Oh and when you're riding you're budget, hardy, beginner bike, make sure you actually learn how to ride while you're on it, a lot of people seem to forget this message.
I lol at the "rode my <beginner bike> for 3 months, now I've outgrown it and need a bigger bike" stories

>new urals cost 20k+
To be fair, most people who own urals are senior citizens, though there is a stupidly hot chocolate milf with a german shepherd ive seen on the ural forums from time to time
>mosin
>used to be $80
>ammo was $90 a tin
>90% of people you see shooting them are significantly overweight with shitty facial hair
>hawhaw WOPPAAAAA SERGEII L E L DA COMRADE MOSINKA JAJAJAJAJ
Holy fuck I hate mosins

No shit, my friend upgrades every time he crashes his bike
>2 years ago totalled his new R3 doing a wheelie into the back of a car
>last year his fz07 lowsiding at 120km/h
>just bought an fz09
>all bought on loans
He's literally a retard. I don't ride with him at all anymore.

you should hear some of the customers i get at my cycle gear
we have a very overweight regular who rode a cbr250, decided it was too slow to carry his weight, and decided the logical move was a zx-14
another customer, a rich arab kid (store is right across the street from embry-riddle this is actually a recurring theme) came in cause he needed a one piece cause he just got his first bike
>what did you get?
>1299 panigale
never seen him in since, i assume he died
the amount of stories i can tell you guys...
>>
>>16828394
usually because they need a physically bigger bike instead of a cramped sport standard for asians
>>
>>16828458
I had a friend like that in High School, crashed literally every vehicle he ever owned.

Now he works for the Navy.

In case anyone is wondering what riding in a ural is like

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCtdYwmSnU4
>>
>>16828468
Then why would they buy a supersport? Supersports are literally more cramped up than 250 beginner bikes
