Just enjoy how mad people get over pics of things they don't own
Tanks mang, I find pics of crashed harleys much like classic paintings.
It's cool only harleys crash and no other bike amiright?
Mainly rear end accidents due to harleys complete lack of braking power
This must be the yuropoors mad at what they can't afford edition
Ayyyy, there's that edge I like.
Tell me more about your engineering degree
I love nobike meme threads guys
Ayyy. Sorry this is for us poor yuros anon
Just go ride one m8
I'm going to play vidya while this shit autoposts to image limit
I LOVE UR EDGY MEMES ANON.
SHUT UP AND MEME WITH UR FELLOW YUROKEKS NIG
I dunno. I don't have any riding buddies (or buddies in general). Ended up cruising with a rider today round a local canyon. We had a few yarns and cruised back.
>TFW want to cruise with another human again
Well edged friend
I like the scout more, but the gunner is pretty bad ass
SHUT UP AND MEME WITH US
It's easy, post bikes you can't afford!
>tfw suspension needs to either be fully serviced or upgraded before I can ride track again.
Sorry sir, dbt is strictly for nobikes and poor yurocucks who hate things cuz lol poor
>tfw no bike with paralever suspension
MORE OF THIS SWEET EDGY MEME!!!
If it makes me more eligible the Ohlins kit is $2400 which I can't comfortably afford until a few paychecks
And it's a track only bike
So I'm kinda nobike poorfag
Is that non-adjustable front forks? Or are the small screws the adjusters?
Pic related some forks
MORE EDGE MEMES!!!
YOU SURE SHOWED THEM ANON!!!
Well here, have this (poorly) looping gif I made a while back
Showa Big-Piston forks
The compression and rebound adjusters are both on the cap of the fork, preload on the leg.
They're good forks but right now the valving on them is blown and I'm taking the opportunity to either get the Racetech Gold Valves installed or I'll spend a bit more and buy the Ohlins 30mm drop-in cartridges and TTX rear shock
NOW SHOW US YOU DRAGGING KNEE WITH UR BAD ASS GS500 BROTHER
Angry my bikes a 400 ya spanner, whats the go with you always talking about me anyway?
SO MUCH EDGE MEME
YOU ARE BEST EDGEMASTER MEME KID EVER
Damn dbt is shitty when angry is around, this thread is going to image limit at 170 posts haha. have fun taking the bait guys im gone again.
Honda strong though
>Angry my bikes a 400 ya spanner, whats the go with you always talking about me anyway?
cuz i fucking hate you cunt, your a fucking pooftha gay cunt and i hope you die.
No sir, im just here lurking like usual.
Doesn't angry anon have a honda as well though?
It's all good. Haters gonna hate man
I am fairly sure he is the one who pretends to be me sometimes, kinda funny.
I'm sure you feel very honored!
I don't think anyone pretends to be me sadly :/
Someone probably does.
>thread is dead in 25 posts
This thread was dead as soon as it was started by a troll
we cafe racer now
>On the way to Gym
>Stop by store to grab an iced coffee
>Gym is in the same parking lot
>Strap helmet to back pack
>Start riding off
>Helmet falls off
>Go back and pick it up
>Little piece under the spoiler broke off
>Top is all scratched
That's what I get for trying to look cool I guess.
Some cuties did check me out when I pulled up to the gym with out a helmet, wasn't worth it.
Listen here ya dicklicking victorian faggot, I gave up making OP's since every cunt is too retarded to do a simple copy/paste and not fuck the OP up.
Now would you please kindly fuck yourself with a cactus, cunt.
Found out I have no front-end braking power today.
>go visit old teacher for her birthday
>park bike outside high school
>realize I have to do a full squeeze to get 80% of the braking power I had before
Gonna check fluid cables and pads tomorrow, was kinda scary when I realized cause I was on the high way.
If I can get a WR450R Sumoed vs a DRZ400SM, the WR450R seems like the more fun bike, but is it don't I have to do more maintenance on it than the DRZ?
Also, will it be roughly the same seat height (35 in) after the street wheels and everything are on the WR?
M8s I'm stressing over what accessories to buy, just bought a brand spanking new CBR300F and am looking for luggage, rear racks, security and I'm so lost with all the options
help pls, what should I be looking for
Another new bike buyer here.
I'm planning on keeping my CRF250L for at least 2-3 years, and if it resells for 4500 I'll be more than happy
A used one is literally only 1000 dollars cheaper than a brand new one, it's honestly not worth the hassle for me involved in purchasing a 2nd hand bike
I'll have fun with my smooth motorcycle engine in my motorcycle.
Welcome to 2016 bro. it's not the 1930's and we don't have to deal with shit tier engine designs out of necessity anymore.
>If a flat twin is too wide for you, you might consider taking lessons.
Nice, trying to blame the rider for the shortcomings of an engine design instead of accepting the limitations and drawbacks of said design.
No they're not. They are fucking miserable. Bugs, wind, rain, cold, heat...wiping your ass with leaves...no, they are not all fun and games.
Unless you go with own convey of film crew with trucks supplies and guns for hire.
That's just all part of the adventure. Of course it's gonna be shitty as fuck at some points. But that's when you just have to continue an see and experience the amazing things the world has to offer.
Then when you're done you're going to look back at what a wonderful time you had.
You seem confused. The reason things like Vtwins and thumpers were used originally in bikes is because technology was so shit it was literally impossible to practically fit a better engine design.
We are not held back by those limitations anymore.
And flat motors in motorcycles are just shit all around. Heavy, wide, complicated, space/material inefficient, etc.
There is nothing good or appealing about your mile wide or piece of shit rattle trap "motorcycle engines" over a modern smooth 3+ cylinder motorcycle engine.
Hell, a valid argument would be to try to argue in favor of the parallel twin, the only sub 3 cylinder engine design that actually makes sense. But you're not smart enough to make that argument.
>implying you can't make a parallel twin, inline 3, inline 4, V3, V4, or V5 engine make gobs of torque with correct cam/head design and bore/stroke ratio.
Protip: cylinder orientation does not dictate torque output. Only power pulse pattern, and a parallel twin can have the same power pulse pattern and same torque in a more compact form factor.
I actually do.
It's very seldom you need access to the heads. When you do (say every 24,000 miles for a valve lash check) it's trivial to undo the four bolts holding the tank and remove the airbox/throttle body assembly.
>Only power pulse pattern, and a parallel twin can have the same power pulse pattern and same torque in a more compact form factor.
GTFO Poindexter. No body cares about cylinder orientation and your feels about it.
They are TORQUE MONSTERS.
If by "a bunch of shit" you mean 3-4 bolts for the tank and then the airbox. Sure.
Trivial amount of work that only has to be done every 24,000 miles or so.
Completely not worth it to deal with all the downsides of a full retard engine design for something you rarely have to do. Your argument doesn't hold up.
>find bike you want
>go look at said bike
>if you want said bike tell owner that you'd like it inspected by a mechanic of your choosing
>find motorcycle mechanic and have him take a look at it
>if everything checks out and you see the title, negotiate the price
>get a cashiers check for the agreed upon amount.
>stop being a fucking autist that is afraid of standard human interaction.
all single cyl:
everything 650 for fire roads and longer rides
250 for city commuting with light trails (not highway good)
450 for serious trails and hooning fun, higher maintenance but also shitloads of power.
Don't finance a toy imo, especially if it's your first bike.
What if you have it for a month then write it off? You're stuck paying off a loan for something you can't even ride.
Not to mention you'll probably have to get full coverage insurance on whatever bike you end up with a part of the terms and conditions of the loan, which could be expensive. Like three grand a year (or more) expensive.
Tl;dr if you can't afford a bike outright you probably can't afford to ride.
yo /dbt/ what would be a good price for a used sporster between 1990-96
the bike i'm looking at is a 94 883 they want 2200 and its from a dealership how could i get them talked down from the asking price?
I would have posted the pic, but well you know why.
You can see in this pic that the exhaust camshaft has been removed, but the intake is still in place. See the camshafts are gear driven but only to one gear then that gear is driven by the "cam chain".
Makes removal of camshafts for shim replacement stress free as you don't have to worry about keeping the chain tight since it only drives the gear which then drives the camshafts.
i know alot of people where i live has the vt700 and vt1100 they seem to like them
>>14176615 eh i mean i not really lookint to get another 80's bike but if its within my price range how is the magna? i like it but i'm kinda a pussy right now and just trying to go up in the cc's over time
The V65 was a pretty scary fast bike for the time. Still respectable in straight line performance, can keep up with modern 600 supersports. Will power willie in 2nd which is pretty impressive for such a large/heavy bike.
The V45 is more manageable and still pretty quick.
Both motors are pretty bulletproof other than some oiling issues, no big deal if you take care of it. One of the smoothest running motors ever. Also shaft drive cuts out a ton of maintenance.
what if i buy cheap like sporster, shadow,Magna see witch one i like best and sell the rest?
like i said i mean i alredy have a 82 maxim i looking to get newish but if its in my price range then i'll just have to deal with it
>what if i buy cheap like sporster, shadow,Magna see witch one i like best and sell the rest?
If you've got the money to blow, I guess you could do that.
Or you could go check out the bikes one mby one, give the owners cash in hand for a test ride, then ride them all without buying and seeing which you like.
>like i said i mean i alredy have a 82 maxim i looking to get newish but if its in my price range then i'll just have to deal with it
I mean, Harleys are piles of shit, but buy whatever you want that you can afford. I don't know your budget or financial situation.
Just know, you'll be constantly dumping money into a Harley to keep it on the road and you'll constantly be chasing oil/transmission leaks.
i don't have cash to blow it's more dreams for the time being but i mean i'm hoping i'll be able to before i get my license
if i get a sporstbike i'll look at the cbs or some shit
Is an R model 650 worthwhile?
(I mean like the XR650s and the older 650 ktms and yammies and teh like)
Seriously? 3 grand a year on a 5 grand bike???
I mainly want a bike with some offroad capability !
meh, well now you have a headlight relay mod somehow so it doesn't draw so much current when starting. Can help make a battery last an extra year, as while its dieing it doesn't need to supply so much power to run lights and starter.
That's cool then I guess
Maybe it draws less current because of the new spark plug?
The old one was in pretty shitty condition
One day I'll get a non-shitbike and I'll show you, /dbt/
