IONIAN - 0 sharps, 0 flats 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1
DORIAN - 2 flats 1 2 b3 4 5 6 b7 1
PHRYGIAN - 4 flats 1 b2 b3 4 5 b6 b7 1
LYDIAN - 1 sharp 1 2 3 #4 5 6 7 1
MIXOLYDIAN - 1 flat 1 2 3 4 5 6 b7 1
AEOLIAN - 3 flats 1 2 b3 4 5 b6 b7 1
LOCRIAN - 5 flats 1 b2 b3 4 b5 b6 b7 1

What this means is that to get dorian (which has two flats) you would take ionian and just flat the 3rd and 7th notes. This is because it will be all of the exact same notes as ionian EXCEPT for the 3rd and the 7th, as the chart above shows.

drink a beer or two before you start.

other than that realize 90% of the people in the audience aren't musicians and wouldn't know a mistake if it bit them on the ass
>>
>>72958213
All you can do is be well rehearsed. Don't listen to people who tell you to drink beforehand, all that does is make you more likely to mess up while not caring about messing up. The amount of alcohol it takes to relax your inhibitions also relaxes your motor skills.

Suffer through the anxiety the first time, you'll probably find it subsides really quickly when you start playing. At least that's how it is for me. Five years into playing shows and I'm still nervous beforehand, but if you're actually a good player and confident in your skills then you should have an easy time on stage. And if you're not a good player then you shouldn't be on stage anyway

If you find a guitar you otherwise like, don't fret over action and bowed necks and old strings. For sure, make an issue of it, and get the best price you can off of those guys with whatever reasoning you can use. But those kinds of "flaws" are so easy to fix. Find a good instrument, get it at a good price, and spend a couple of hours and a set of strings on "fixing" it.

How much is too much for a bedroom practice amp? I.e. wattage and size?

Size: Whatever's comfy in your room and whether you're going to be transporting it a lot
Wattage: I don't think an upper limit makes sense here. A lot of modern amps don't sound shit at low volume and if you're using headphones you're gold anyway. My friend has an AC10 in his room and it sounds great.

Then they pose in front of their bedroom mirror with their Squiers and think hmm, I could dream a better dreamy dream if it said Fender on the headstock. Then they stick a fake decal on their shit guitars. Then they think hmm, I could dream the perfect dreamy dream if I could pretend it was a vintage Fender and I'd actually taken it out of my bedroom and done a gig with it. Then they shit the finish up with power tools. Then they realize that they've ruined their guitars and sell them on ebay as Fender Squire Stratacaster with unique relic finish rare color includes new strings" for $70. And no one buys it.And the dreamy dream is finally over forever.

My shit is custom too, Fender US Standard body and a Warmoth neck, 10-16 radius and big stainless steel frets. Bare Knuckle Flat 50 in the bridge, Fender Twisted Tele in the neck and a Creamery Alnico 2 middle pickup, sounds awesome. The switching is custom ...

1 - bridge only
2 - bridge + middle
3 - bridge + neck
4 - middle + neck
5 - neck only

So I get the Strat pickup combinations without losing the Tele ones. Really great way to wire a Tele, might sell the idea to Fender for billions of dollars.

That anon is probably a wicked player. Who cares if he can't set up his amp? That's what roadies and helpful people on /gg/ are for.

No no, what you need now is more pedals.
>>
>>72967307
yeah, spend another $2000 and you'll get the tone you want

I claim TayTay. Not the best player but she has most identifiable "signature" guitars of the decade. And she's hot, ffs!

You need the chops to back it up, son.

Well it all started when I got scarlett in/out thing to record on my computer. Then I bought a Fender Blues Jr. because i was told to get a tube amp if I wanted to record, and oh yeah I had to buy a shure mic and an adaptor to connect it all, but it would all be worth it because that's all quality stuff that will last me a lifetime right?

Well when that wasn't enough, I bought a Big Muff fuzz pedal, an OCD overdrive thingy, and this weird blue pedal that makes it echoing. Then I spent about $100 on cables and shit just trying to wire it all up and had to buy a pedal board to keep it from getting tangled.

When none of that gave me a good tone I gave up on all of it and bought an accoustic guitar, which entertained me for awhile but I missed my electric tone. So then I traded in my blues jr. for a marshall cab + bought an Orange tiny terror head. And now finally I have no money left.

GG sweetwater and guitar center, you played me like the fool I am.
