How can I improve my singing voice?
I have a passable baritone but I want to sound better at higher/louder levels and I just wish I had better control and tone in general

My amp just started making this weird high-pitched whining noise like a dog whistle
It functions totally normally except for that sound and it gets worse the more I turn it up/add distortion

How stupid would it be to just buy a multi effects pedal (thinking zoom g1 or maybe g3) and hook it up to my standard (non-guitar) marantz amplifier/receiver and play through that and my living room speakers?

I'm new to guitar and don't have a ton of cash to spend and I was looking at modeling amps (namely the vox valvetronix vt20x... mostly because it has a bunch of effects and a tube preamp) because I don't want to blow tons of money on expensive pedals until I realized that a multifx pedal does pretty much/exactly the same thing as modeling amps do, but without the, well amplification. And speaker. Would it really be that ridiculous/stupid to buy one of those affordable zoom multifx pedals and hook it up to standard living room equipment, or would resistance to the idea mostly be due to elitist snark?

chords are taken from scales. thats how you find the scale for a chord progression.
know harmony? you take a scale, say the minor scale, build triads with its notes starting from each one of its notes.
finding a progression's scale you just do that backwards.

I just bought a single coil set for an HSS guitar I'm building.
Since I'm using a humbucker for the bridge I'm not gonna be using all three single coils, only two for the middle and neck.
Does it affect the tone if I change the order the pickups go in? I want the neck to sound as close as possible as a humbucker for solos (although I know it won't get even near that) and I'm only going to use the middle for cleans.

What's the best combination for this?
Bridge single on neck position and neck on middle position?

The guitar I'm trying to mod doesn't have a humbucker routed for the neck position and I don't have router to make it bigger. Might as well get one but I also want to test the single coils since all my other guitars are HH.

I just don't know how to describe the tone I'm looking for. Have you ever tried a Sustainiac without the sustain function? The humbucker version is basically a single coil, the other plastic part is empty.
So far it's my favorite neck pickup, but I'm guessing since it's a sustainer when you don't have the switch on it's like an active.
What I'm trying to say is I want a neck single coil that doesn't sound lanky like the ones I've tried before.

Maybe a built in preamp would work?
