imagine the band we could have had if they never met lars and met a drummer who could actually do the rolling double bass; mustaine might have stayed with lars gone, burton doesn't die. they stay metal, maybe never do that thing with lou reed. or hell maybe do something good with lou reed.
I can't believe this is real. Dream Theater has officially made the most embarrassingly autistic thing of all time.
>this nigga doesn't even know what a pitch fork is
that's pretty sad man
I'm about 70% of the way through so far, and it's actually pretty fucking good. It's full of nice riffs and solos. It's no Rust and Peace, but this is easily the best album megadeth have done in years.
I'll get rich off of this shit
>write 3 chord progressions, each for 20 minutes, and 6 keyboard melodies
>blast beats for an hour
>add ambient snowstorms in the background and incomprehensible sampled dialogues or speeches
>name it something like "Shadows of my endless tears - The coldness of suicide"
Now I need a gimmick
>traditional aboriginal folk interludes
And there you have it, /metal/ AOTY, all years
>wearing milsurp and metal shirts
>Spend all my time reading classical lit, nationalist shit
>Listen to metal
This is what happens when your main boards are /fa/ /k/ /pol/ and /mu/
Yo guys, I'm into hip-hop, but I've found some old tapes my father used to listen when he was younger, I asked him if he wants them back from our basement and he told me to throw it away. I've got some Napalm Death, Massacre, Bathory, Slayer etc.
So... Why shouldn't I give it to someone. I asked few of my friends if they want it but they said noo, also I think they are not very valuable , because they are unofficial presses(but not just home recorded copy) so... If you want any add me on Snapchat: brunoszulc
and send something stupid, funny, cool, sexy, boring whatever. If I'll like it I will send you a tape or CD via post on my cost of course. Also, sorry for forcing this, but I know you want them, lol. First Bathory album is already gone.
Not 100% metal but who likes Arabrot here? Fav album? Thoughts?
They've always seemed like a more menacing, less prog Tool, and that's what I always wanted from Tool
Fuck this was my SHIT back then. DD's music from 2003-2007 was like a fucking religion to me.
Then Monsters of the Deep hit and it was never the same.
To this day I haven't finished that song. So fucking bad.
Consider me rustled
>I WANT THRASH THAT'S THRASHY AND GRIMY AND ARRRRHHH!
start with RRRÖÖÖAAARRR!!! then War and Pain and Killing Technology
>I WANT TO READ A HEAVY METAL 2000 COMIC BOOK WITH MY EARS AND GO TO SPACE!!!!
Dimension Hatröss, then Phobos, then Killing Technology, then The Outer Limits, then Target Earth
>I WANT INDUSTRIAL-TINGED THRASH METAL THAT'S NOT DUMB CHUGS!
Start with Negatron, then Phobos
>I WANT SPINELESS PROG ROCK TO TIP MY FEDORA TO
Angel Rat, then Nothingface, then Infini
and then Katorz I guess.
> mfw black metal is getting stale, no really really good albums have been released in years, and the genre is full of hipsters
Can something split off from black metal the same way black metal did with death metal?
I just want some new, really fucked up music :(
There is some dank ass black metal coming out lately so I have no idea what you're on about
death fortress- among the ranks of the unconquerable- 2014
inquisition- Obscure Verses for the Multiverse- 2013
cultes des ghoules- Henbane- 2013
BATUSHKA - Litourgiya - 2015
torture chain- Mutilating Astral Entities- 2013
drapsnatt- Skelepht- 2012
nattfog- Mustan auringon riitti- 2012
>go to local distro
>3 different cd versions, a tape and a vinyl issue for some irrelevant album that came out last year
man, what's the point of pressing so much shit that will never be sold
i need the most fantasy oriented, ridiculous, D&D loving metal album you can offer me.
no gygax or rhapsody, please.
>look at reviews below
>everyone is agreeing with the staff review
>there are only 52 2015 doom albums on the site
why the fuck would you ever use this piece of literal trash? What good is this for?
>sputnik doesn't let you post a low score if the album's average is high enough
jesus fucking christ, who thought this was a good idea?
Oh your original complaint is worded incorrectly. Virtually anything you listen to other than stuff that was recorded in like the 60s or earlier will be stereo (i.e. 2 different sound channels). What you don't like is the guitar and bass being on separate channels.
It's been a while since I've listened to Paranoid, but I don't remember it bothering me. The pressing I have is an old 80s disc, so I don't think they fucked with the sound at all, but I could be wrong.
I actually despise metalheads, but a friend showed me some medieval metal à la In Extremo and its not as bad as the other shit here.
Is it considered babie's first medmetal or its not that mainstream inside the genre.
Any other similar bands?
Fuck I forgot how much I liked this.
May be a bit edgy but good god it's one of those albums you'd headbang to until your neck snaps.
>have a decent melodeath opening riff
>quickly go into WEEDLEWEEDLEWEEDLE
Iron Maiden and Judas Priest
also almost all of the "hipster" metal is actually good and pretty entry-level despite what anyone says. Boris, Isis, Kvelertak, atmosludge and atmoshit etc.
Most of the time it depends on what music you already like. But if you're looking for a crash course in anything, I say this is good to begin.
Remember the ones you like and explore into their styles.
DZUN... DZUN... DZUN... DZUN...
Ladies and Gentlemen...
KOMMANDO -DO -DO -DO -DO
I agree with starting on trad. metal. It creates a solid platform from which to explore (and understand) all further developments in the genre. However, this could be pared down to a few essential albums/bands:
>Black Sabbath - everything up to Sabotage
>Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny
>Iron Maiden - Powerslave
>Mercyful Fate - Melissa
>Venom - Welcome to Hell
You could probably swap out Venom for Motorhead, but I don't know which is their best album to start with personally. But these albums give you a good idea of what metal would aspire and evolve to, with greater intensity and inventiveness.
Rust in Peace might not be as influential as Welcome to Hell but it is one of if not the best metal album ever recorded and is relatively easy listening.
1st wave BM is just slightly heavier heavy metal anyways, you can skip almost the entire genre except for Hellhammer and Bathory
wtf you guys didnt tell me this was gonna have awesome jazzy drumming in it
Anyone here uses foobar2000?
I need some help with it.
For example there is my Music folder. I set a path to it in "Music Folders" in settings.
But when I add new songs/albums, they're not appearing on the list.
I know you can do this in Musicbee (re-scan), but can you do the same in fb2k?
>only one metal album for the last 7 days
i need your help boys. what's the name of that album whose cover is a black and white photo of a heavily tattooed hand gripping a big ass knife at like a 90 degree angle? i think it might be crust or some black metal crossover thing but can't remember anything else about it.
that's it, thanks. guess my description was pretty accurate
Is there something like Today is the Day but more technical, and preferably death metal?
inb4 more recent Today is the Day
I keep trying to get it into Vol.4 but end up dropping it. Sabotage isn't bad but doesn't grab me for some reason. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath has a bad second half imo but also 2 of my favorite songs are on it
>tfw listening to power metal a lot lately even though I'm an atmofag
/metal/ for this feel
That Batushka album is pretty fucking dank. Have had it on pretty much constantly for the past 2 days.
He seems like a chill guy in that documentary. see this post >>61907731
Sure normies like you who actually don't know anything about him might find him edgy. I recommend you to read this http://thuleanperspective.com/2014/06/02/some-facts-about-varg-vikernes-his-case/
I couldn't make it through Late for Nothing. The vocals were trash (mainly because of the mixing I hope). Gonna give it a try.
Converge doesn't count. I already know them.
