All metal subgenres have good bands, the only thing that changes is the proportion of good bands in them

Furthermore, apart nu, core, ( which still have good bands ) and very specific subgenres all have a decent base of great artists, yes even that subgenre that you hate.

While it's perfectly fine to listen to only some subgenres, most riff-fags dismissing atmospheric subgenres are alike the dumbest pantera-fans only that they decided not to like pantera anymore because they were too mainstream.

On the other side people so dumb that they trash thrash or more riff-based subgenres are morons that never understood metal and probably have shit taste even in atmoblack or post-metal.

I'll conclude on saying that the definition of riff that led to the separation between "muh riffwank" and "muh atmoshit" is wrong, letting apart the fact that it's incredibly retarded.

Even some more mainstream kind of bands aren't really all that easy to find either. They also do a decent amount of math and post-rock (I assume they get their influences from Japan just like S. Korea), but they mostly stick to their own Chinese-only websites, though they have been getting more into bandcamp lately.

Asia in general doesn't care about the west as a market, which is a shame, since they are churning out some really good stuff these years.
