daisysoul...
this is the thread
Why does this board champion this hacks opinion so much. Is the average poster on /mu/ so insecure that they can develop their own opinion on music. The guy says he didn't like an album and members of this board act like he just shot their first born.
The holy melon reigns supreme
honestly though, this nigger might have a good sense of humor but I hate his reviews
>>74773020
his "humor" is filthy frank tier
Favourite song? I'm really into Gamba.
JUNKY might be their best yet desu. GUMMY and QUEER are honorable mentions.

I know mine isn't the best there is but it's all I've got, and I'm satisfied with it.

Don't put your speakers next to your turntable, also put the pre-amp off of the speaker
>>74807029
Ive got 3 other lou albums and 5 velvet albums, they got me into writing and playing music. I have all the VU albums + live at max's Kansas city. As for lou reed Ive got the live American poet concert, rock n roll animal, and new sensations.

I know I've still gotta work out a final setup. I just want to wait til I have a better turn table to do so.
Why were Beatles fans during the height of Beatlemania mostly girls?
How is it possible for girls to go hysterical over music?
>>74806943
The music wasn't important
>>74806943
Yeah, i would only fuck the Mod girl four from the left with a camera
Seriously, brit girls are so hedious
>>74806963
Same as boys on /mu/ don't care about the music of Taylor, Lorde, Grimes, St. Vincent, Lauren etc
Holy shit, it's like The Beatles if they were good
If they were good, they would be like The Beatles.
>>74807108
Yeah they should have toned down their creativity, and have inserted a shitload of awful rock tracks, then they could be another overrated pop band!
>>74807222
I know. But instead they decided to become The Beatles instead. Incredible.
Albums where the first song is the best one and the second is the worst.
>>74806683
that's a weird opinion
>>74806683
What is the point of music critics? Why do their opinions matter so much?
>>74806651
Fucking delete this
>>74806690
Thanks for your input
>>74806651
i rely on them to get a sense of music that i'm not diehard into, and is out there on the periphery of my tastes. like i don't listen to a ton of grindcore these days, so it's helpful to have critics form some kind of consensus about bands or albums that have done something interesting or impressive.
but while you asked a question about the role of music critics, i get the sense your real question is just "why the fuck is this board obsessed with Melon and a couple other goobers."
because this board is mostly teenage boys highly susceptible to the cult of personality around public figures. ANY public figures. even sentient album-reviewing cantaloupes.
Is this the most influential hip hop album of the 21st century?
It's indeed a good album, but how has it influenced anything or anyone?
No this is
>>74806684
A lot of newer gen rappers are influenced by DOOM.
I found a 90s pyschedelic dream pop album in a thrift store that i literally can find nowhere on the internet. Should i upload it to youtube?
pic unrelated
>>74806606
yea mon, start one of those "obscure patrician albums i picked off RYM" channels
>>74806606
Name?
>>74806653
The bands name is "Seven Miles" and the album name is "Within"
>write record and produce own music
>don't share it with anyone
>have already made several albums
Mfw I've acended patricianship by listening to and understanding music that I know literally nobody else has heard
>>74806473
what genre you doing?
im curious
>>74806632
A few different genres, some acoustic stuff with psychedelic production, some folk punk, some noise and experimental electronic, and a few industrial hip hop tracks
Welcome fellow toolheads

How about just the greatest of all time?
Steve Vai
There's 2 Lana Ultraviolence bonus tracks I'm hunting down and they are both available on itunes, one exclusively. I haven't used itunes before, so 1) Can you download from the Japan itunes in the US? 2) If you download a track for offline use, is it just a standard mp3 file?
>Lana Del Rey
>>74806309
AOTY
>>74806309
Lanana.
Explain to me why this album is praised so highly.
It doesn't sound that interesting - you don't get much more out of it on the 5th listen compared to the 1st
The singer is legit bad. His voice is too fucking goofy to try to pull of the more serious sound they're going for, he'd be better off in a new wave band
I also don't give a shit how "influential" it was. The unforgivably shit rock and indie rock that spawned from this is not a fucking plus
>>74806221
>The unforgivably shit rock and indie rock that spawned from this is not a fucking plus
well there's you're problem op. you're retarded
If you're not a guitarist, you literally cannot fully "get" this album.
Snotty nosed art kids generally create the best rock, some of the most catchy yet intricate guitar work you'll hear in rock
