Can anyone fill me in on Sleep Dirt by Zappa?
I've had the album for years but it came up on youtube and that version has vocals (the one i have is all instumentals)
I've looked through some forums and i haven't found any specifics about why there is two different versions. (one also has Chad Wackerman percussion)
A few people were talking about Lather and some other unreleased/scrapped stuff but i couldn't tell if that related or whether they were just getting off topic.

"The 1979 LP version of Sleep Dirt was entirely instrumental. However, with the CD release in 1991, Zappa added new overdubs to the recordings. Zappa asked singer Thana Harris to add vocals to three songs. Zappa had originally envisioned "Flambay", "Spider of Destiny", and "Time is Money" as part of his abandoned 1972 musical, Hunchentoot, and thus, these songs were originally intended to be sung."

How come there's nothing about this album (Eskimo) or this group (Louden Swain) on RYM?

Any /mu/tants ever listen to them? Are they good? A friend reccomended them out of nowhere. Obscure as fuck.
