The whole reductionist idea of stripping rock down to its most basic elements to show how ridiculous the form is, is nothing new. The Monks did it, The Shaggs unintentionally did it, krautrock bands like Kraftwerk and Neu! did it, Suicide and no wavers like DNA, Teenage Jesus, and Mars did it, early industrial groups lime Einstürzende Neubauten did it, and noise rock groups like Lightning Bolt and Igorrr are still doing it. The Pigfuck scene was just one part of a long lineage, and as great as Unsane and Scratch Acid were, Pigfuck wasn't really that original - it kinda just seems like they were following the template Flipper had laid out.
