I think a big part of why people hate her is because she's so much more complex and subtle compared to the other characters wheras the m6 are essentially a set of archetypes, easily understood with room for nuance afterward (not trying to rip anyone there).
Her inclusion into the show seemed very sudden and unplanned. And we are only now seeing her personality become fleshed out beyond being anxious and guilty in her second season so that didn't help either.
Maybe i'm autistic but i make a point to periodically go back through her episodes and over analyse them so i can understand her more, anyway to the point.

Has anyone written something detailed about her character that doesn't fall for memes like

I can't say i've visited other waifu generals but it's because starlight doesn't have an eqg counterpart, they're exactly the same character.
I guess she's a bit more "rebellious" in eqg but i run under the assumption that we'll see more of that in the show as she becomes more comfortable.

Starlight isn't redeemed because she doesn't care. Lets take Sunset as an example of redeemed: She takes her past and shatters it into pieces, making her new self shine brighter than her darkness.
Starlight tries to hide that past under the carpet, not to think about it too much. But the most interesting part about her is that, unlike Sunset, her "evil" didn't come from wanting power or glory or some shit. it came from pure idealism, a belief in doing the right thing, in seeing everyone as equals, something that has obviously carried on to her "good" self. She dismisses Hearts Warming Eve, doesn't worship the princesses and gets mad when ponies think they're superior than others.
Starlight has way more character by this point than any other character on the show.
And, unlike many other characters, she has room for something greater, something called... GROWTH. Character Development.
