The last time I actively participated wasn't too long ago. It was during our last attempt at that radio puzzle, but I've mostly taken a backseat since then. The slower update speeds probably make it harder to stay interested too. Updates are just so slow anymore, at least in the quests I'm actually interested in.
I really prefer horror CYOAs, like rki's stuff, and those Silent Hill CYOAs, but they both abandoned me, twice now.

In the end no matter what happened at some point the players would try to bring mum along so her death was completely unavoidable. admittedly I would not have gone against bringing mum even though I would have known what would happen.

Unbound is more of what Planeswalker should have been. When I get around to running it again it will eventually lead into what Planeswalker was (the oasis city, Needleweaver and her evil manor, etc...). I have so much to do in real life that getting back to running it isn't high on my to-do list right now. And I don't want to rush it because there is just so, so much the players have yet to discover about the world(s) and how they are connected to the ghost pony mc and the lantern. And if you want to know a little secret I tried to connect the story to Lewd Pony Text Adventure, but the players either avoided the plot hooks or tried to avoid the DLC. I decided that in the interest of LPTA that I'd stop that nonsense before it got too out of hand and to just stick to its own self-contained adventure. There's still going to be an opportunity for a brief merger in a few sessions due to an event already mentioned in the quest. I'm not going to railroad it, though. I wonder if the players will direct the mc there on their own.
