She was truly, genuinely angry inside, and that gave you enough satisfaction to stay quiet for now. I do see your points and while I would prefer to actually have the mane 6's kids to be the main cast of the "new gen", I feel like Hasbro is going to give us 6 new Starlight Glimmers. I don't really have a problem with the mane 6 being shipped btw, it just needs to feel earned and not fucking false like Twilight and Flash Sentry. If anything, Discord and Fluttershy would feel like a well earned relationship that has had build up and a pay off. More importantly, unlike Twiggles and the chad, FS and Discord have a lot of chemistry.

I forgot to say, writting two characters who have chemistry is not an easy feat, you can see hundreds of movies where actually great directors and screenwritters fail to do this. You have a recent example with Edgard Wright and Baby Driver, the main couple is the weakest part of the movie because they have no chemistry. Hell, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in La La Land had this problem to a extent.

Fluttershy and Discord have a wonderful dynamic and great chemistry. On a story telling level, a potential relationship between those two would work without any problem. I can't say the same for the mane 6, introducing love interests for them would require a whole season, if not more to develop, lots of things can go wrong and the risks are basically to piss off everyone, including the little girls who watch the show and basically kill the series that way. It's a big risk that Hasbro and DHX are not willing to make, and so, they will introduce 5 other Starlight Glimmers to continue with gen 4 rather than having the mane 6's sons and daughters to inherit the show.

The chemistry need to be earned throughtous the series. I can never see a chemistry in a 1-2 hour movie. Couples like Mullder and Scully or Fluttershy and Discord or Rick and Michonne had grown as good friends so their ship becoming canon is more satisfying if you learn to like them before they become romantic.


It doesn't work always in a series format. For example Sokka had more chemistry with Toph but the writers still matched him with Suki in the Avatar.

I do disagree about movies not having the same potential for love relationships than a tv series. That said, what you mention are relationships and archs that happens through the entire series and usually with the main characters. PhD is cute and got many magic inside of him, the fact that he can do some X spell and Y happens, Y being chaotic overload of magic, is neato.
Celestia and Luna on the other hand, being sisterly like is cute.
But, alas, I dislike sometimes how they're so different from the show.
I'm speaking in terms of power and magic.
In season 3 Celestia pretty much loses against Chrysalis, yeah Chrysalis was too much powerful with all that love, but still, Celestia & Luna in this chapter destroy the target place with one single spell, each sister.
My point here is that I don't know where to be more disappointed, with canon or with Elo's princesses.
I'm gonna make fun of them in some update I make later.
Still, it was gud chapter to read.

Alright, so before I resume this chapter, let me tell you about Spider-Man Homecoming: It's... probably my favorite MCU movie along with Winter Soldier. The negatives I have are basically, it's an MCU movie so you know how it's going to end, Flash's actor clearly did his best but he does not look like a bully and I think that's it. Even when the plot was okay, the whole thing with Tony Star and the Avengers is the perfect backdrop for Peter's arch of wanting to prove himself as a superhero.

The stakes are low in the movie, but I think that worked wonders since it's a small scale story, Peter Parker is an actual 15yo, he makes mistakes and fuckups that a kid like him would make, all the sidecharacters are very charming and lovable and it's with them that the movie managed to surprise me, which is super rare with the MCU. I could say more but the best thing I can say is that it is a very worthwhile movie to watch.

That is really far into the story, they would be literally introduced right before the end of the story, and the idea has changed a lot, originally, it was three kids, 2 daughters and a son. Due to my incompetence when it comes to names, it was then changed to just 2 daughters.

What hasn't changed is that Flurry Heart will be PhD's faithful student, she even sends him letters
