I think Sgt. Reckless got so much attention because her feats were impressive (51 solo supply trips in one day, without a handler!) and the Wikipedia article communicated so much character. She's also one of the most celebrated horses in American history, so a lot of Anons already knew about her. She's also tiny and cute.
If you want to ponify any other /hist/ horses, you'll have to find one that rivals her charisma, and then mass-produce some cute OC.

Reckless was known for her odd: she ate all kinds of things around her camps, including more than $30 worth of poker chips (more than $300 today, by inflation scale) one time.
The chips are purple because she received two Purple Hearts (awards for those wounded in action) in her service. Some anons also thought a gambling theme could fit her because of her "reckless" gambits, having risked her live so many times on the battlefield.

Not trying to start an argument and derail the thread, but in the show, in canon, we've already seen a "party cannon," a pet turtle named Tank, ponies wearing pretty modern-looking camouflage clothing, and Cheese Sandwich talking about his "Party Tank."

The writers haven't felt any need to show us gore onscreen, but none of that stuff is the kind of thing a society invents if they don't know what war is. I'm just saying.

Yeah, Season 1 also had a sort of medieval feel, with ceremonial guards in plumed helmets carrying spears, and an impossible fairytale castle (which is to say, fixed fortifications) stuck onto the side of an impossible sugarloaf-shaped mountain. More modern stuff like hydroelectric dams and magitech "computers" appeared later on. I keep seeing fanart of vaguely steampunk-ish, Final Fantasy-ish airships, too, but I don't know whether that's based on anything canon.
