Sunlight would have gone down quite a bit if it weren't for the ending. I really enjoyed seeing the duality between Scilight and Sunset.

Losing Sunlight is up there because of its characterization of the relationship between Sunset and Celestia. Also, I loved the library scene.

Guy I just had a potentially disturbing thought. In Mirror Magic what if we don't actually get to see Sunset in Equestria Given that Hasbro was keen to keep the series separate from each other (going as far as a late stage rewrite to ensure they have a Twilight and don't have to keep on having the crossover with Princes Twi) it's easily in the realm of possibility that 'we' stay in EQG Equestria while Sunset goes to pony Equestria.

The scene could be set with all of the mane 7 at the statue seeing Sunset off, she enters the portal and disappears then the scene swaps out to another, perhaps Juniper Montage finding the mirror and seeing what it does. Then it swaps back to Sunset returning and introducing Starlight.

The specials are only 22 minutes long so obviously things are going to be compressed and done while other things are happening, I just hope this isn't one of them even though it's perfect for it and keeps with keeping the series separate.

It sounds like this is a distinct possibility. I see this happening in one of two ways: we see Sunset leave and part of her time in Equestria, scene swap to Juniper getting the mirror along with potentially showing what it does, scene swap back to Sunset and we see the rest of her time in Equestria then returning or what the quoted post says.
I'm hoping it's the former but given that Hasbro forced a rewrite, cut major plot points and killed better versions of some scenes in FG in order to keep SciTwi on; fulfilling their need for toy selling character number 1 without relaying on Princes Twi thereby further separating EQG and FiM I wouldn't put it past them.

The map calls Twiggles and some other mane 6 pony, I don't care which, to solve a friendship problem at Celestia's school for Talented Unicorns. Upon arriving, Twilight talks with Celestia and sees no immediate friendship problem, but notices Celestia is fixated upon one student that is oddly talented in magic. Twilight asks about this student, a mare with blue fur, and Celestia says she's a new student but is already surpassing the rest of the class. Celestia says she's thinking about making her her next pupil like Twilight was. Twilight gets a word feeling and decides to follow the new student back to her dorm in the castle. Twilight look through the small window on the students dorm door and sees the mare erupt with teal magic to reveal Sunset. Twilight almost immediately teleports into the room and confronts her.
Sunset tells Twilight how she came back from the human world to make amends with Celestia but is too scared and nervous to confront her so she's been disgusing herself as a new student and trying to work up the courage to confront Celestia. Twilight says she bees to tell Celestia but Sunset demands that Twilight says nothing.
Twilight has found the friendship problem. Twilight spends the night in the castle and debates with herself on what she should do.
Obey Sunset's request and not tell Celestia, or alert Celestia that this mare has been Sunset in disguise and tell her what's been going on.

This is more or less what I've been speculating. There's not a lot of time and they have to establish these characters. It may be a hard pill for some of you to swallow but the equestria side isn't relevant to the story except for establishing glimmer and the main focus is showing off her EqG design. Not only that but they have to introduce her with the rest of the girls. When you account the other plot points like establishing Juniper, her motives, her plan, how she's going to execute her plan and steal the mirror and how to resolve the plot it doesn't leave much time. I said earlier for others not to expect this to be their long awaited shimmer in equestria where she gets to met celestia or the other mane 6. I suspect the only reason they even decided to have equestria in the story is solely to introduce glimmer.
So IMO its very probable that it will happen off screen or very super brief
