Season 1 is fun to rewatch though.
Like the first half of the season you can see how all the mane 6 aren't quite great friends yet. AJ and Rarity can barely stand each other for one scene. Dash is way more impatient with Fluttershy despite knowing each other for so long. Everyone underestimates just how clever yet naive Twilight is.

They slowly start to click more and it's beautiful to watch their friendship develop as the writer's figure out how they relate to each other.

At the same time, watching Season 6 then watching Season 1 you can see the drop in background details and just how varied the puppets are now. It's been fun rewatching the show with a friend new to the series.

It's all the same show still. It's just progressed. It doesn't matter if it has good or bad parts in its lifecycle.

The leaked episode seriously reminded me of one of her chapterbooks.

Good characterization, a good feel for the setting and tone, but much like the books, you kind of wish more was going on in the stories.

One of my main complaints with the last episode was the moral and the conflict. They were in my opinion horribly written.
It was written in a way that Fluttershy can't be wrong but that just makes everything stupid. Why didn't they help her from the start? Why did the experts completely and utterly ignored her without even trying to discuss with her? That would make them lose any kind of credibility. Knowing what animals need does not make you an architect or any authority on how to build something. Also the entire conflict was Fluttershy telling them to leave and...well it was over. A much better moral would be learning to compromise instead of assuming you are completely right, that and finding the right people to hire I guess.
The interaction between the main characters was pretty basic but okay.
The strongest part of the episode was Fluttershy but that wasn't enough in my opinion.
The episode wasn't bad but it was in my opinion too simple. The chapter books are targeted to an audience even younger than the show one and this shows. It really felt like something from a show for very young children.

(Though really Hard Hat should have approached the problem from a park perspective rather than housing - ponies already have parks!)

That's the problem though.
That doesn't make any sense. They are someone with a reputation. They should be professional.
What they did was beyond not just following orders, they went so far to get materials and modify the landscape. It's not addressed in the episode because it's again incredibly simplified but what they did is something that would never happen. And it's never even justified or anything, they're dicks just to be dicks.
A kid shouldn't think that's what an "expert" you hire does.
Also Fluttershy's stubbornness with her vision was also a bad thing. Why the fuck would you ask for help from experts if you aren't even willing to talk with them.
They gave her their expertise, giving her the best solution they thought would work for this situation. Fluttershy just shut them down and said, no do it like me because I'm an expert in animals.
Why even get anyone at all if you aren't wiling to change3 anything. The only thing she needed was manpower, nothing else.

She's geting a bit too many episodes, and some of them could have Twilight in them instead.
Also they are overusing her fucking up to have a plot. It's like all the bad fanfics where Twilight casts a spell and it fucked up now everything is zany.

I liked her in the Maud episode. She was cute there and she wasn't the one fucking shit up with magic again. If she was more like that I'd be more okay with her.

Overall I think she's a nice character and I don't mind her too much but stop giving her so many episodes that could be used for others.
