Continuing with the /x/ stories from last thread.

As a kid there were times I saw things such as piles of clothes shaking or creepy little things around the floor at night. It's possible I saw them in the same period and that they were night terrors or something. Having night terrors might explain why my fight-or-flight instict goes crazy at night and I get nocturnal panic attacks in my sleep.
I reached this conclusion after waking up recently feeling confused, threatened, seeing the shadows around me move, and seeing a long triangular shadow with perceptible depth pointed at my face. A few weeks later I woke up for no apparent reason saying "what the fuck" and asked my awake brother to turn on the lights, even though I hadn't woken up from a dream. I'd remember something.

A former friend of mine who was an atheist communist (and a closet agnostic) once told me that as a kid, whenever he'd wake up at night to go take a piss, he'd see a lady wearing a light blue dress sitting in a chair or couch. He didn't like speaking about it though.

Speaking of night visits, plenty of cultures have one form of night attacker or another. The common elements are paralysis, a crushing weight and a shadowy presence. Philipino tradition was a different version, which is a very fat woman who screams bloody murder while sitting on a sleeping person.
Local tradition has the night attacker sitting on your chest (or back, according to a story I heard as a kid), but it's a black hag usually dressed like the grim reaper rather than a fat woman. I developed the habit of sleeping on my side during the night because of this.

Because of room layout my bedhead is near the door and pointed towards it. People outside the room are near my head but outside my field of vision.
So one day I briefly woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I'm being held down and pushed my head back on the pillow (like I'd do in order to look upward if I were standing) in order to look at the open door. I saw a shadowy faceless figure standing just outside the room. It looked like the virgin Mary as she appears in orthodox paintings, but without baby Jesus, and with black and very dark grey inb4 Archer joke clothes. I looked at it for a moment and then "went" back to sleep (lost consciousness).

Many years later and while I was on leave, a private in the army was attacked in his sleep in the barracks. He said he felt something closing around his neck, so he reached for his neck to take that something off. Then something started chocking him hard and he opened his eyes. He said he saw someone looking like the grim reaper and wearing a white mask with red markings. He managed to pry it's hands off his neck and screamed, waking up everyone.

I didn't believe his story because that sounded like a Sith from the Kotor games to me (though said Sith is based on jap myths I think), and because that private was a sly high-functioning autist who saw Blade the black vampire hunter one time when, again during my absence, the other privates got him high.
Because he was embarassed about waking up everyone, he blamed it on another private who was dumb and had the habit of moaning in his sleep but was otherwise a decent guy.

I posted a g-doc here with the opening scene a few months ago. It's an Aria pov story mostly, with Rarity as the second main character. Quite a different tone from my other stuff.

When I was 12, I thought it would be funny to shit into a Pringles can...so I did. The log nearly filled the entire can. Then I got the brilliant idea to fill the rest of the can with water and leave it out in my backyard. It was winter at the time so I imagined it would freeze as a cylinder of ice with a log of shit in the middle. The next night, my drunk older brother (who was 16) and his buddies came stumbling through the backyard. One of them saw the can and decided to kick it. Instead of freezing, the can had turned into a chilled tube of diarrhea. It sprayed all over the guy who kicked its foot and his buddy's Philly Eagles jacket. I laughed my ass off as they washed my sh!t off their shoes and coat. One of them had a mustache (at 16) so I didn't give a fuck. They knew it was shit, but they never knew its origins.

There's a ghosty in my new house that I might have a bit of a crush on. How do I proceed?

If we're talking about SP then I've also had some crazy hallucinations.
This one time I woke unable to move, sweating, having trouble breathing, the usual stuff you hear about..but then out of nowhere I notice this two headed goat monster holding me down by my arms. The big head, located where a normal head would be, was dark brown and was staring right into my eyes and speaking in a really deep voice that was so loud it felt like it was shaking the walls. I couldn't understand what he was saying, or maybe I could but just don't remember, it was a long time ago. The second head, which was growing out of the neck of the first head, was white with black spots and was smaller than the other. All it did was scream in a high pitched voice and flail around like it was having a seizure. After a short while of just laying there trying to get control of my breathing the noise started to fade and the goat man climbed off me. I watched him walk backwards as I sat up slowly and right before my eyes he morphed into this lamp I had sitting in the corner (pic related) It was fucking crazy.

This reminds me of that other private who used to talk gibberish in bursts in his sleep. We could only understand the end bits of his gibberish. Soon I realized that he wasn't speaking gibberish, but rather he was talking really fast and slowing down at the end of each burst.
I believe we're all familiar with how sometimes time flies and other times it seems to go by slowly while we are asleep. That's because the brain processes information in various speeds, affecting our perception of time. That was also why the guy was speaking fast.

The brain isn't singular like many people believe. It's a sum of parts performing specialized functions. One of the benefits of this is that the option-making rational part that holds the consciousness can rest (sleep) without hindering our chances of survival too much. Rather than go comatose and become lying meat for the nocturnal predators to eat, the subconscious (which holds pre-programmed responses in the form of insticts) looks over us and alarms us if it senses or hears a potential threat.

The problem is that sometimes the system works less than smoothly. The subconscious goes full retard and wakes you up without waking your body up (sleep paralysis) or without pausing the part of the brain that processes information by making it into dreams, making you see crazy shit. Dreaming awake in a way.

Ah shit, I remember that.
I mostly just scribbled all over the pic while I was completely zoned out, but there were a few weird doodles (like a really tall guy with a moose head and a short guy with a duck head and three legs, which isn't like anything I normally draw..ever). When I zoned back in I panicked thinking I had ruined the pic and undid everything, then started working again. Only later did I think to hit myself for not saving them. I do things like that on occasion though. I probably have some old snooze doodles or "Snoodles", as I like to call them, from back in my school slacker days laying around in my closet with my old art somewhere.

You're a dude who likes to think of himself as your average ordinary everyday guy.
Thing is, you don't have the average ordinary everyday guy's hobbies and you're not after an average ordinary everyday girl. Your heart belongs to Sunset Shimmer. As does your free time. Sunset is such a brilliant and pretty girl that you're too intimidated to express your feelings to her. So instead you follow her around, hang out together and help her with things to build yourself up in her eyes first. You can tell it's working because you're her go-to man and she always praises you by calling you a *good* friend.

Unfortunately Sunset likes to keep busy by signing you both up for all sorts of volunteer work, leaving you with no free time and no money earned for it. This better pay off in the end.
The most recent such volunteer work was a few days ago when the two of you went to an orphanage called Mr. Fountain's Sanctuary for Small Siblings or something like that to help cheer up the children there. Sunset sat them all down in a circle, played the guitar and sang with them, and then read them stories till they all fell asleep. Meanwhile you helped carry the bags and gifts for the orphans, did the laundry because the laundry lady had a day off and cleaned the dormitory.
Mr. Fountain came to the two of you before you left to thank you for your kindness. He was wearing a flashy suit and a cowboy hat, he was talking a lot and moving his hands, and had three tads in tow. They reminded you of chirping chicks following their chicken mommy. He said a few things, Sunset squeed, jumped and clapped, and before you knew it you were taking those three girls home with you in a sort of supposed trial adoption period.

Mr. Fountain later took you aside and told you that it's actually a pilot federal program to ensure that all orphans get an idea of what being in a family is like. Even those who will never be adopted.

You were about as prepared for this as you were for a meteor strike. You left the girls waiting alone outside your flat for a few minutes while you hid your pornography and took down posters in a hurry. You had nowhere for them to sleep. Something you realized late that night when one of them sleepily asked you where her bed is. You tucked all three of them in your own bed while you crashed on the couch. They kinda looked like the Powerpuff Girls sleeping one next to eachother like that in a bed that was comically large for them. The similarities didn't end there though. As days passed you noticed that Adagio, Aria and Sonata's (as you learned were their names) personalities are comparable to Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles's respectively. Adagio is the leaderly type with more maturity than her age would suggest, Aria is a scrappy grump, and Sonata is blue and stupid. Also cute.

Having children around the house was more draining than you would had thought. They always needed something or just wanted your attention, they were noisy even when they weren't talking, and they have a habit of literally running into trouble all the freaking time.
Like earlier for example when Aria and Sonata were chasing eachother around the house. The two shorties were screeching at eachother about some trivial grievance and calling eachother "meanie" and "poobrained" despite you yelling at them to knock it off. If there's one thing you love, it's quiet. Quiet and your prized action figure collection that you're keeping on a bookcase.

The very same bookcase that Sonata ran into forehead-first. Thank god it didn't fall on her, otherwise you'd have a dead child (someone else's child might you add) in your house and a couple traumatized ones.

"Sonata, you dumb klutz!" mocked Aria before falling on a coffee table and knocking a glass vase and the mug you'd left on it earlier down. The vase and mug fell on the floor and shattered, spreading near-invisible shrapnel.

"Goddamn it!" you swore as you strode towards the girls with half a mind to beat them like...well, like they weren't yours.

Aria got up and ran away from you while Sonata was busy holding her forehead and crying. She paid you no mind as you approached. And then you noticed it. You leaned down and picked up a broken plastic leg.

"Oh no." you said under your breath. You looked at your collection. Almost all of them had been knocked off their feet, and one of them had fallen down and broken!

Your collection consisted of rare toys, a few imported ones, and toys that you had wanted back when you were a kid but never gotten. In other words they were irreplacable and had sentimental value. And the little brats just broke one of your toys with their childish shenanigans. You were mad sure, but also hurt. Which one was it? Where's the rest of it? Did anything else break? Are there any missing accessories? Fat chance replacing it. Damn.
You were too preoccupied to notice Adagio angrily dragging her siblings by the ear to "their" room despite their protests.
Still holding the plastic leg, you got onto your feet and searched for the girls. You were gonna yell at them good and dump them on Sunset for the rest of the trial period before returning them to the child store. You only got them because of her in the first place anyway.

You recognized that voice as belonging to Sonata. Somehow she sounded submissive and complaining at the same time.

"Sigh...I'm sorry. It's just that I really want things to work out for us for once. At least this one time. I don't want to be unwanted anymore. I want a family."

"Tsk. Who are you kidding Adagio." said Aria, her voice much harder than Sonata's.
"If we were wanted then we wouldn't had been dumped. Nobody will ever adopt us because nobody wanted us in the first place."

You couldn't see her, but Aria's harsh words visibly upset Sonata. Perhaps the blue ditz was more perceptive than people gave her credit for.

"No. No, don't say that. It's in our hand to get adopted; we just need to stop sabotaging ourselves, alright? We just need to make a good impression."

"Will a mommy and daddy love us then?" asked Sonata hopefully.

"They will adore us." said Adagio reassuringly.

"...Annie went to your head just like everyone else's. There is no rich man for each orphan out there just waiting to find and take it to his big house. And why didn't Annie tell her new father to adopt all her friends as well since he was oh so very rich anyway? Face it Adagio, this is all a bunch of...A bunch of hooey!"

You scampered away quietly as soon as you heard footsteps from the other side of the door and hid in the room next door. It was the kitchen. You took a new mug off the cupboard and filled it with water, pretending that was why you were there.
You took a swig and spilled the rest into the sink before putting it down on the kitchen table harder than you had intended. Then you went back to the living room, acting as if you'd heard nothing.
You walked past Adagio who was sweeping the floor with a broom and dustpan, and took a seat on your comfy armchair with the green pillows. You've loved armchairs since you were a kid, so you're not quite sure whether having one makes you an adult or a child with some money and no supervision. Your action figure collection made your case for you. You still had the plastic leg in your hands and you were keeping them busy with it. Bending it, feeling it's lines with your fingers, tapping and it with your nails and passing it from one hand to the other as you looked at your life and the little orange girl's back as she gathered the broken plastic and glasses with the broom.
You know you used to be this small but you can't imagine it. You tried to remember yourself being small and seeing things from a lower point of view.

Instead you remembered your father and how he used to keep his own hands busy while lost in thought. The realization made you feel fuzzy inside for some reason and your eyes watered a little. You put the plastic leg in your pocket.

Sir. You hated being called that because it stirred your anxiety about your own age and mortality.

Adagio tilted her head at this.

"Never mind. Leave the broom and come here for a moment."

Adagio left the broom leaning against the wall and pushed the dustpan on the side with her foot so as to not be in the way before coming to you.

"Sit." you said as you spread your legs and slapped your thigh.
Adagio looked at your thigh and then your face. She was reluctant and you were too innocent to guess the real reason why.

"It's alright. I'm not angry at you."

With hesitation apparent in her movements, the poofy-haired girl took a seat upon your leg. She shifted a little to sit better, and you put a hand on her back to steady her. She was surprisingly lighter than you expected, probably because her gratuitous hair gave her a lot of visual bulk. She kinda looks like a cheeto.

Adagio's expression changed throughout the conversation from weary, to curious, to surprised. Then her mature demeanour crumbled, finally revealing the vulnerable child in her. Tears ran down her cheeks and her lip trembled. Now it was your turn to be surprised as the powerpoof girl threw herself at you and wrapped her thin arms around you in a constricting embrace, as if afraid that you might run away at any moment. You never would had guessed that a kid could be this strong. You smiled and put your own arms around her as if to shield her from the woes of the world. Her crying eyes and runny nose wet your shirt, but you were too busy being happy to care.

"Are you going to be our daddy?"

You looked at the door and saw Aria and Sonata standing there and looking at you. They must have been eavesdropping. Sonata had a reddish bump smack dub in the middle of her forehead but she seemed to have forgotten about it already.
You waved your hand at them to join you.

"Come here you two! It's a family hug and it has room for you too!"

Little Sonata ran to you squeeing all the way, followed by Aria who was more cautious. However she was having trouble holding up her trademark frown. Now all three fruity bundles of joy were in your arms; the orange, the grape and the blueberry. And having the full set made you happier than any toyline ever could.

I feel like using my name again. I feel like I'm saying cool stuff that I'd like to take credit for. Yeh.

The orphanage and it's owner is a reference to Fontaine's Home for Little Sisters. Mister Fountain is a man of dubious morality. And while Mister Fountain is a conman, the similarities with Fontaine end there. Fountain will always have you wondering just how much of a piece of shit he really is. He smiles, he calls you friend, and he gives you bum deals. Sometimes he does the decent thing, but that could be because he is trying to earn good rep points or to wiggle out of something. Perhaps he has a soft spot in his heart, or perhaps he really tricked you good. You never know with that man.
What you can be certain of though is that he used to be a used car salesman among other things and he is using his experience and tricks to find orphans a home for some reason. Now he and his orphanage are part of my headcanon for Canterlot City.

You know I think it's interesting. I've written so many stories that take place in that city. Many of them take a different spin on the main characters, but the city itself never changes. It only gets enriched and more fleshed out. I love this.

Not really, I drew from various people. Yes, my parents were bad at it and reacted poorly towards me for not having the tastes, interests and the capacity for critical thought that you'd expect from an adult. I was a wee shit for fuck's sake and I was one year younger than my class requirement throught all my school years.
In hindsight the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were fucking autistic, but again I was very little and children are imbeciles by adult standards. Even girls were watching it. I lost interest sometime during the ninja season. Zeo and everything after it was so bad that I wouldn't watch it if I were bored.
I also used to watch Sailor Moon. My mother approved, but my brother called it faggy. Neither realized that I was watching it because it was the lewdest thing I could watch on TV at the time. My brother was watching Dragonball and he ended up a wizard.

I buy a few cheap toys every now and then for novelty reasons. For example I have a tiny articulated Spartan and a hand-sized FoC Optimus. Both of which are from videogames I love. I'd buy Duke Nukem and Dark Souls toys if I could. I also have an interest in bonkles, mostly because of a jarring psychological issue that I wanted to discuss with the shrinkfag here the other day. Becoming like Chris Chan or the collector dude from Powerpuff Girls is a small and distant fear of mine. Toy fandoms have their celebs. Schooling was a blur for me until I got into middle school. Most of my memories were from when I was actually having fun in school or wasn't at school. Needless to day I hated school. Speaking of Power Rangers though, my friends and I were prior to being preteens I can't remember exactly and we trying to perform/larp Power Ranger-type stuff, but only my friends had watched it before. At some point I caught an episode of Power Rangers and cringed, mostly because I was seeing what my friends and I were doing from a 3rd person perspective. Made me realize how stupid anyone especially myself looked trying to do that autistic larp shit, whether it's from Power Rangers or something else. I never wanted to larp after that but everyone was cool about it since we had plenty of other things we could do like hide-and-seek, tag, making bonfires for no reason, pine cone wars, dumpster diving for cool shit to add to the hideout; Typical little boy stuff. Later on as a preteen I started watching Sailor Moon. The anime-style, tall school girls with long, nice legs and unbelievably high skirts not to mention the villains they fought did all right things for my little prepubescent mind. I wasn't any better for it though since I was inspired by the edgy and mysterious antihero-type stuff Tuxedo Mask did in the first couple seasons, subjecting myself to being teased for being a reserved, fatherless weeb throughout middle school and the first two years of high school.
I am so fucking glad I found mlp and /dzg/.

By the time of my preteens I was watching Beast Wars. Best show to ever grace TV. Up to that point many cartoons were heavily censored with swords only used to deflect beams, guns fired concussive beams, dialogue was extremely sterile, and music was hardly noticable. And then you had Beast Wars opening with two spaceships blasting eachother to bits and a brutal voice proclaiming that they should kill the other team now that they are helpless only to be denied by the evil leader for sadistic reasons. Meanwhile there are puberty-inducing guitar riffs playing. The show continued it's run in that spirit, with wild music, combat beatings, emptying chainguns on partially organic robots, setting said robots on fire and dismembering them. You have got to watch Beast Wars, mate. Also the show passed a lot of crap under the radar, with lines like "Oh pussycat, you really know how to tickle my joystick", and a close on a fembot's cunt. That's the kinda stuff kids should be raised with.
