The Jamila episode was actually kind of unsettling. The kaiju itself was really ugly in a disturbing way along with those freaky sounds. i imagine his death scene gave kids nightmares and the episode even ends playing one of his death groans.

Ultraman usually doesn't have a main writter. According to the Nexus interview, pre Nexus, they just had a bunch of writers that barely met each other to write episodic MoTW episodes. Even for Nexus they just had a meeting for all the writers to write a more serialized arc.

New studies indicates Legend isn't Cosmos and Justice's "Ultimate". It just happens that Legend is the one of the possible Super Ultraman form in that universe. Before Cosmos and Justice there are other Ultraman in that universe combined and became Legend.
