Rules:
Pick any 1/144 or 1/100 kit from the Graze family (Pic Related), and paint and customize it. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit.
To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a Graze Ritter and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. If you're unsure of something please ask in IRC, the thread, or email.

Reposting from /toy/ in case. What's the recommended waiting time between hand painted coats for Tamiya acrylics? It's just very small areas that I masked improperly when using my airbrush, this is the old HGUC Gouf I am using as a first painting attempt. And thinning ratio, if you know. Googling the topic didn't leads to much conclusive info.

Not to be a dutty repeat poster, but no one replied last thread. I just snapped my first kit together (See Pic). I'm going to prime and then paint it in a red and silver motif. Will Citadel spray primer be ok? I have loads left over from my warhammer projects. Do I need to prepare the plastic in any way? I can tell it's very different to GW plastic, I haven't worked on it's like in years.

How long would it be before we get another RG Grunt for Zeon? Much less Feddie? How did a Z'gok get picked before say, a Gelgoog or a Dom? How come they haven't done any Feddie grunts at all? Why do they keep making 2.0s for kits that have had more recent releases than ones who truly deserve it?

Probably would've helped if I attached a pic. Interestingly enough, after skimming the raws the v-fin seems to be colored as yellow consistently throughout Origin. The eyes are sometimes yellow, sometimes pink (but more often they're pink).

So will this thing have good elbow bends, or are they stuck at 90 degrees? I know that Bandai's managed to make those sorts of "circle-jointed" elbows bend at 180 degrees with some neat engineering, but I'm not sure if they've done so with 1/144 kits. The a friend told me to put down an undercoat of testors silver before applying red. By golly it worked! So basically ever bit of red you see that really popping, well, that's why! Pic related mixed with nailpolish remover at a 70/30 ratio for the rest of the red. Worked out pretty okay though! By the time all the red lines were done... It was a fucking mess. So I busted out some matte black and cleaned up the messy lines which is why some of the black sections look a bit lumpy. I learned then and there that I need to buy some damn masking tape if I EVER wanna do something like this again! But yeah tl;dr:"THIN YER PAINTS" is very good advice, use small brushes, undercoat anything on black with silver to give that shit a nice vibrance, and mask your shit cuz you won't always luck out with the same black on your brush as you had with the spraypaint. Also patience. I thought I was gunna knock this out in a night. Not so, muchacho.

OK so I got everything built up. I got some touch up markers and a good exacto blade to get rid of nub marks. Now I got a basic set of Gundam markers, the six pack, and then a fine tip black. I've seen a lot of people say that you should go with fine tip grey on the white panels. Makes sense. Only issue is no one locally has any fine tip grey markers, the grey one in the basic six pack I got seems to be a bit too thick for panel lining. Online is gonna take forever to ship too. Should I order the grey online and just wait or line it with the fine tip black marker I have now? First gunpla kit in like a decade and I never panel lined or finished a kit before. I've only snap built and that's it.

You should probably order the grey and brown panel lining markers for when you want them in the future, but black panel lines are actually fine on pretty much everything- some people just prefer the somewhat more subdued looks of grey on white plastic and brown on red.

Pretty sure Dalong does black panel lines on nearly everything, if you want to see an example of what the lines would look like before you commit.

Bandai is releasing Bogue's Draken in 1/72 scale and it comes with the sword Keith's lacked. I guess it was a last minute addition to the design, just for the final fight.

So I was able to jerry rig the Tallgeese decals to make a label for my Leo. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I used the g in Tallgeese for a 6 in the model number.

Yeah, they're just your average tank kit. Platz just licenses the molds from other tank kit companies like Dragon and throw in a set of GuP Decals. If you do decide to pick one up to try building a tank, I'd say go with a 1/35 kit over a 1/72 kit due to how much smaller the pieces on a 1/72 kit can be.

I used an MG Tallgeese, the head, knee armor, butt thrusters and gun (minus the scope) can be bought on Shapeways.
It's fucking expensive and you'll need to sand and re-texture the parts to get them too match.

The chest and feet I scatch built from the Tallgeese parts.

I waited 2 years for a RE100 Leo or for a chink bootleg but it never came.

Leo is the best looking grunt of the whole franchise.

Post a picture of the Cape. Are you aiming for having the sword diagonally across the figs back? Easy solution could be to put the sword into one of the cape's folds (if there are folds) and cut off part of a thumbtacks nail and plug it in. Of course thats gonna leave a small hole when you remove the sword. Dont seen any way to not get a hole in it unless you want to make a short strap for the sword to hang from.

UFO Defense has Power Armor, Flying Armor, Sectopods, and then HWPs and Cyberdisks more distantly, TFTD just has Ion Armor and Magnetic Armor, it's more Godzillaish. Apocalypse has nothing but power armor for your troops, Interceptor I think has nothing especially /m/ but nobody plays Interceptor anyways, and Enforcer has Enforcer and Sectopods. Enemy Unknown has like five different power armors, Cyberdisks, and Sectopods, Enemy Within adds MECs, Mectoids, and Seekers or Stalkers or whatever the squid robots are called, and 2 has some kind of jello monster in power armor or something, I haven't played it yet.

As far as skills go, It was my first time to scratch build anything. Plaplate was really helpful and so was liquid cement.

I used epoxy putty to smooth things out and fill in any gaps, which was probably a mistake I should have used normal tamiya putty. Epoxy is a bitch to sand.

If its not a money issue (an MG Tallgeese and those 3d printed parts aren't cheap) I say go for it. Aside from the size, Tallgeese and Leo are basically the same suit. Just maybe watch some youtube videos on how to use everything first.

The bootleg is slightly cheaper, but I just like how detailed it is. It keeps the bulky asthetic of the Providence but sharpens it up a bit. Plus the leg armor as that "splitting" gimmick found in the old MG Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice.
