It's a shame that they completely rewrote Touya's personality, I kinda liked him being an unwilling and angry teenager who wanted nothing to do with the whole world of piloting machines. Now that he's a champion of justice from day one instead of being a gradual change, he won't hesitate to get in the robot and doesn't need to be forced into piloting as there's no evil federation to treathen to capture and imprison him

In most runs, I use every single Gain cast I have, even if it means every other spirit can be shown the way out. Same with Cheer. I prefer to do the same thing with Luck and Bless when possible.

Ah, that might be part of it. After my top 18 or so main units, there's a very steep dropoff - like one person in the 60s, a whole bunch in the low 50s, and a few in the 40s who only got that far because route splits shot their levels up to the average.

Yeah, even someone like me who went full-autism with kill and exp distro and didn't do the resupply trick, on their first playthrough had the enemies around around 66-67 in the final stage. I did have people autolevel via route splits, though, so that might've helped.

You get way more Luck/Bless/Gain/Cheer to go around than daunts. And 40 is REALLY low for endgame J even for a support unit. Repairs and Resupplies on higher level pilots give plenty of EXP.

My rule of thumb is to never kill anything under my level in scaled-level games, and if someone gets ahead of the average due to a boss kill or popping tons of enemies, they sit out until everyone else catches up. At least mapw experience isn't buggy in J, but I think the most you can get is still 5000. Or maybe 7500 due to the maximum favorite system bonus.

By not being a dumb shitter who can't into something as basic as EN/Ammo management.

I think I have yet unironically used Renew outside of HTB/MAPspam to end maps quickly, and resupplying is worthless unless you also waste a skill slot on a similarly worthless skill, and the standard 200 +/- 60* level difference exp gain formula would be too slow to ever grant more than maybe 3 levels per playthrough due to how slow it is and the fact that killing something would likely end up having a better payoff.

In 2nd OGs, having Mio with Concentration paired with Mai, when both are aced, have enough for 9-10 casts. And then I give them both SSP Drinks so they can right back up to full.

In the PS2 games, no. The level cap is too low, and the lowest per-cost you have for the one person who does have it is 36. So you'd have a lot of time in-between castings unless you felt like using the +50 SP twin spirit or equipped her with an SSP Drinks.

OG in general didn't let you oneturn bosses until OG2nd.
Septuagint was just too fucking far away in a game with little Enable casts to let you go wild and just fucking run to its face.
OG2 has the same issue, Stern is in the opposite fucking corner of the map.
OGs2nd has you run after Alfimi who's too fucking far away to get Stern Neue to spawn on a very specific spot of the map that, you guessed it, is fucking far and away.
OGG goes batshit with the balancing and does give you a lot of spirits to play with.
Problem? Unless you're able to deal above 156000 damage in a single attack (attack, not battle sequence, as that would just make Shu defend instead of dodge), Shu will just cast Guard, Renew and Sense, and unless you can deal roughly 624000~ damage, you're not killing him in one turn.
And as an addendum, if you do deal those 156K in a single attack, he heals back to full and then does his spirit casting, so you go from needing to down less than a million HP for an OTK to 1950000.

And then Euzeth just sits there at a comfortable distance from the player army and does nothing.

So, how will they handle Touya getting into the mecha? I could see the GS being ruthless enough to demand him to be handed down to them for interrogation and stuff just like it happened with the federation in J, but that ship sailed one game ago and most of the corrupt federation members died in that same game, which leaves us with a federation mostly composed of the nice old guys of before, which definetively wouldn't try anything funny with a potential ally.

Without the asshole federation, there's very little to encourage him to get into Granteed unless Banpresto pulls a Ryuusei and turn him into a mecha enthusiast for this game or something similar
