Absolutely. Aside from the health boost and the +armor, heavy armors let you mount the heavy weapons.You only get one shot per mission, but if you have one or two of those you'd be surprised how quickly you can REMOVE NOISE.

The basic one, the rocket, is pretty unspectacular, but allows you to put explosive fire on targets more distant than anyone except a grenadier can get a grenade. The flamethrower makes terrain impassable for organic units. The scatter shot strips armour and basically kills everything within a cone.

The blaster launcher, shredstorm, and and hellfire projector are basically advanced versions of those, even more powerful. The plasma blaster, which I put on Chris, is different, it just does massive damage in a straight line like the psi-hadouken psi-ops get.

The original from the 1990s is great, of course, but XCOM 2 is pretty fun in its own right. I mentioned this in the actual XCOM thread, but while the tactical battles aren't that much different than they were in the 2012 game, the strategic layer is harder IMO and does a good job of getting the "constantly on the run rag-tag guerrilla rebel outfit" theme down. You'll really have to watch both time and money to succeed.

It was entertaining the first time around but on a rewatch it's really shallow. Mostly filler once again and the action was just as bad as the rest of GX and only really stood out on Ignite happening and even that was retroactively damaged by how Ignite amounted to absolutely nothing.

I was expecting something else.
Pretty much I thought that their recording the songs combined with the fact that the geahs had Dainsleif in them meant that the dolls were going to take over the geah's bodies, leaving only Hibiki and one half of DMJii.
Then, Hibiki would be forced to get her act together and make the geahs snap out of it with the power of handholding, while at the same time we'd get at least one half of DMJii moving outside of their symbiotic bond.
