You redesign the Gundams, to they're gundanium frames, armor and high end computers and reactors but every other component is sourced from whatever Oz grunt is popular and overclocked or something. Same goes for ammo.

The gatling on Heavyarms? Leo rifle ammo. Shenlong's flamethrower? Doped fuel. The cannisters to Wing's rifle? Modified reactor powerplants.

In this way, to continue fighting, they must continue fighting.

From there, you hugely abuse the conventional sensor absorbent properties of Gundanium. They are moved in secret, broken neatly down into parts that can be transported independently. Maybe for each, there's two or three sets of limbs or something, held in depots around the world, each slightly different - specialized to the common battlegrounds in those area - held in place by the supporters of the Gundams.

From there, each story would revolve around the Gundam pilot in their respective continent rallying up the people to fight alongside them -- the purpsose of their design being psychological warfare and to inspire revolt against Oz and the decentralization of the Alliance. You get these stories with two, maybe three named characters and separate arcs. Quatre is note-worthy for already having a millitia waiting for him ahead of time. Wufei for only managing to convince Sally because of his poor social skills.

You know, that's not a bad idea. If you really want to make the good guys feel like they're outgunned in a Gundam show, have them be using Zaku derived units against Gundam style ones.
