>>13781514 Well of course since it's in the OP and presumably used by the new character, although you could barely tell because it's Doven Wolf teal with red highlights there. So the massive fucking stickers on the new shoulder parts should be great.
>>13781340 (Wait, what was the 5th form?) Liking the shoulders but I'll probably just grab my regular feet off my barbatos and shove them onto this one. Loving the double sided gauntlets as well. And more melee beatsticks are always welcome.
I just got this delivered yesterday, its pretty good. It doesn't come with the Mace, though. I'm most likely going to get the Graze next, but if the Gusion comes with parts for both armor types then I'm fucking sold
>>13781915 Progress so far, I'll more than likely finish it tonight. Some of the instructions are weird though, but that's only because it takes you through an armorless build first, then has instructions for putting armor on the frame, which involves taking the arms and other pieces off.
HJ Gunpla spoilers: -1/100 Gusion can be made into 1/100 Rebake, comes with long range rifle and halberd too. Rebake has a face covering gimmick and hidden sub-arms in the back verniers that can hold weaponry. 2/18 release -1/144 Grimgerde comes with rifle, 2 shields and 2 yellow blades. 2/10 release -1/144 Barbatos new form: new large melee weapon, 2x waist boosters, new feet, new chest, arm attachments from OP2 and new shoulders(from Blue Graze Graze). 2/25 release -1/100 Grimgerde, April release -MS F is actually a variation of Doven Wolf Graze from OP 2 but it's colored blue here with some armor differences so it must be a non custom version. New chest, upper leg armor with side boosters(not present in the OP 2 version), new shoulders(top exterior piece is different from OP2 version) and a new sword different from the Option Set 4 one. They trolled us with a Grimgerde silhouette. March release.
No info yet on the other March 1/100(must be Barbatos new form) and MS E(Kimaris upgrade).
The Doven Wolf Graze from OP2 will likely be a p-bandai release.
Rebake retains the ASW-G-11 model number, official description: renovated by Turbines, uses Barbatos parts and Man Rodi's AV System
Barbatos 6th form, new chest and new shoulders(seem to have thrusters inside) from the Blue Graze(outer part is shorter though). Comes with an extra armor part too.
Blue Graze has new elbow armor too
Rebake's face covering is an aiming mode, the sub-arms are Graze's, Long Range Rifle caliber remains 120mm:
>>13782513 They don't do it anymore because it was supposed to be extremely difficult to make that reactor set up even during the peak of technology (which is why only the gundams had it and less than 100 even then) and the method has since been lost.
>>13782532 >the method has since been lost. How did they lose it? It was only 100 years ago and there are 26 left (I believe). Plus they are still really fucking advanced and it isn't like the gundams break out crazy stuff, they even have schematics for them as they were able to retune the Barbie. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out. Like compared to turn a they are sent back to the 1800s and the turn a is so crazy it makes sense they'd struggled to understand it.
>>13782590 >It was actually more than 323 years ago Thought it was 100 for some reason. Still now they have a very high tech level
>>13782593 They don't need to know why if they have the plans how to do it, but if they do have those and gundams lying around there is no reason with there level of technology they can't figure it out. If the gundams had some crazy Turn A level stuff I'd accept it but not as they are
>>13782554 I don't think we've seen the characters pull up anything but a rough schematic of the Barbatos' dual reactor setup.
Also, while tuning some kind of nuclear/fusion/pixiedust reactor may be a lot more complicated than tuning say an old school Lamborghini engine, which are a massive pain in the ass to tune and have to be re-tuned every few years, I can't imagine a full schematic being actually required for tuning. There's got to be some educated trial-and-error way to tune those things the same way tuning of old school Lamborghini engines is.
>>13782603 >I don't think we've seen the characters pull up anything but a rough schematic The mafia had enough to tune and rebuild parts of it and we see Char bring up information on it
> I can't imagine a full schematic being actually required for tuning. They would be somewhat if they as tuning would need them to understand it. Even if not 100% full with that and actual models around (even pirates in the middle of no where can get one) they should be able to figure it out
>>13782613 >The mafia had enough to tune and rebuild parts of it and we see Char bring up information on it The pseudo-mafia people slapped on the sword and the shoulder armor along with some other simpler armor parts, nothing more complicated. We don't know what the Barbatos looked like during the calamity war so they may have just guessed as for the armor and added on one of their swords for good measure. Also, all the pseudo-Char pulled up was a very rough schematic completely void of any real details and it could very well be based on guesses rather than the actual blueprints.
>>13782613 >They would be somewhat if they as tuning would need them to understand it. Even if not 100% full with that and actual models around (even pirates in the middle of no where can get one) they should be able to figure it out Not sure what you're trying to say, but with a lot of cars using carburetors you can just manually adjust the fuel/air-mixture as the car is running and come close to the optimum mixture just trough trial and error rather than any real know-how on fuel combustion and engineering.
>>13782635 According to the model manual they retuned it To its original performance levels (the frame at least) and the new parts were made from dedigns pulled from the barbatos itself.
However, having the schematic for something like the reactor is different then having something like the manufactoring process, especially for something like a reactor. Moreso if it requires techniques or materials that have also been forgotten.
>>13782635 >nothing more complicated No they retuned it. They were stripped it all down, were fiddling with it and said they were restoring it . We had a whole scene and in the gunpla manual just on that they didn't just slap a sword on.
>was a very rough schematic completely void of any real details How do you know it was rough? He was able to have some detailed exposition on the quality of the suit with it
>>13782651 Are you actually saying all they did was change a carburettor on the gundam? They still have the schematics, the technology level and the units to be able to do more
I feel like all this reuse of parts has just given us really bad mobile suit design for the second half of the series like the first half had all these interesting unique ms designs and the second half looks like they couldnt be bothered and just mashed all the previous ones together
>>13782687 I feel it was thought of as a cheap way to do gunpla first and as a story idea second. It doesn't feel very integrated into the show, they just decide to slap a hook shot on or totally re design the Guison for no good reason. Another problem is most of the kits end up needing unique parts for it to work anyway
>>13781361 Looks like it's going to open up in some Bloodborne fashion. I hope it opens up and heats a blade...I mean otherwise what's the point of all that random bulk. >>13781572 Gusion had all that bulk armor because the pilot didn't have the AV system. With the Whiskers the kid pilots have the reaction time to make up for lowered defenses by avoiding attacks.
>>13781849 I like it except for the coloring. Too bland. They isn't need to make it parade colors but beige is so boring. >>13781940 Ohhh so they aren't jets and a chunk of weird ass armor but a shield and extra arms. Awesome. >>13782205 They look like feet from a Man Rodi, so at a guess the point is improved thrust and vector control rather than functional bipedal movement. >>13782598 Sure hope not.
>>13783691 they always do that with edgy units, look at the Dark matter exia for example,in the show it had this purpleish red color, but the kits are either straight red or slightly tinted. The Legilis R and Justice were the same deal (although the justice's color changes a lot based on which version it is)
>heels Barbatos I don't dig it. I'm one of the people who actually likes the base ("4th form") Barbatos and this FA (?) upgrade takes away almost everything I like about it.
>Gusion Rebake I like it to a point. The extra arms and face gimmick are pretty neat. Not a fan of the paint job though and the people who build out of box are going to have a field day with all those stickers.
>Doven Wolf Graze Please, enough with the Graze variants already. Not even the Tallgeese-esque centurion brush fin thing can make me care.
>Grimgerde I like it, even if it is basically bunny-Masurao-Tallgeese. It even looks like it has the Flag's helicopter blade shield thing.
>>13784012 I think the problem a lot of these new suits have is that so far IBO's suits have only been either or in terms of medieval and MBT design as well as there being many different designers with too distinct styles working on them, so just mashing them together the way the shows done at least doesn't really work
Not only were they men's fashion, men were the ones who made them fashionable in the first place. Women began wearing them not because they were sexy and emphasized the curve of the leg, but because powerful men wore them and so if they wore them, they would appear powerful too.
do people really like the graze enough for bandai to be whoring out its body this much? Even the new barbatos has graze parts and the hidden arms of the rebake look like they belong to a graze. I thought the design was just okay, this is just too much though
>>13781340 >How do you feel about Barbatos's sexy new heels upgrade, /m/? Tbh senpai they look dope af. I love UC Gundam the most, but this IBO is pretty sweet, and has amazing mobile suits. I like high heeled mecha, and feel secure enough in my heterosexual masculinity to enjoy things I like.
>>13784529 >really like the graze enough Can't speak for everyone, but I like it quite a bit. I build mostly 1/144 and have 3 grazes and the rebake on the way. I'll probably pick up the 1/100 Gusion/Rebake kit as well. The graze kits are cheap and quite nice, but if you don't like the design I could see why it's reuse would get bothersome.
I don't get the whole gay robot argument, so here's my irrelevant opinion.
The Barbatos was already a skinny design. The high heels makes it look like it's got even longer legs, and more feminine or royal to a degree. I don't see how this would be gay, considering Barbatos isn't really assigned a gender to begin with. I also don't see why it's not allowed to look feminine, I mean sure giant fighting robots and all, but it's from a show with fujo pandering and JRPG beastmen, so this amount of stylization is somewhat fitting.
>>13784529 It's supposed to look like Graze limbs, shoulder armor, thigh thrusters. For the same reason that new Barbatos has Man Rodi feet. They keep modifying the frame as the series goes on with parts from captured suits. Side effect of this is they can make lots of kits without doing any real work.
>>13782066 > Loving the ZII feet personally but I feel like the upper half doesn't compliment them very well. I think the chest and skirt armor could've been made a bit pointier or something. Who knows, I might love it if I get a better look.
>>13784784 The whole gay argument is just shitposting, but Barbatos's entire new design doesn't sit with me because it's thematically empty. There is nothing that the heels add to the design that wasn't already there, and all the Graze armor swaps are meaningless at this point.
Heels work well with Mortar Headds because the designs are very ornate and feminine to begin with, and look like they're wearing gowns and corsets and such, so heels flow very well with the overall look. With the Barbatos, the heels are there just -because-.
>>13784784 >The Barbatos was already a skinny design No it isn't, the only skinny part is the non-existant waist, everything else is pretty bulky round or square-like. imho all barbatos's non-original form feels much more like a shitty gunpla custom made by kids glueing parts on it, which it totally is in the show.
>>13784784 The heels doesn't make it looks any more feminine, the entire feet is way to big, i mean the front part is thicker than it's calves. Also it has that 2 claw-like toes in the front, which completely kills the royal or feminine part for me.
>>13785382 The legs are skinny as shit since they took the Ahab Drives from the earlier design concepts out and replaced them with nothing Feet are pretty small even by modern standards too and the forearms are pretty naked and gangly without extra equipment. But sure the upper torso is actually fairly beefy, although that just makes everything else look skinnier than it even is.
>>13782066 >>13784909 I'm of the latter. I really like that they've finally armored up the skinny waist, plus the new armor is nice. Its just that waist below feels weak. Its very top heavy, and now that is has those dumb heels it looks even more unbalanced. Wished they could have bulked up the skirt and the leg shin armor.
>>13787381 He's still swinging a physical sword though, it'll do damage regardless. It's not like the actual blade would be repelled because it's hot. The outer armour just wouldn't take any heat damage
>>13787381 >>13787393 >>13787400 >>13787401 During the ship fight between the Tekkadans and Turbines they mention if they take too many hits from the incendiary missiles the nano-laminated coating will melt off.
>>13787411 >Nanoreactive paint Okay so kinda bullshit, I can roll with that
>>13787412 >too many hits from the incendiary missiles the nano-laminated coating will melt off. That is interesting, but seeing don't really have to worry when no one has beam weapons anyway. It does mean Char's swords make more sense though at the same time wearing someone's coating down seems less effect than just a big mace
>>13787449 it's just a thing I can't figure out at the moment, but yeah I am just gonna wait for more episodes and fast forward to the fights where they explain their stuff, kinda stopped caring about IBO at this point.
>>13789367 so far we only have a few pics to judge from, maybe it will have stickers on those huge white pieces, maybe it's still a prototype(kinda unlikely), maybe it will even be blue because the graze was blue.
who am I kidding every other kit on those pages are in their final colors
>>13789443 >rather than something they said would be in the show?
It scavenged Graze's shoulders and axe for a couple episodes, then used the schwalbe's wire claw in another, than it got upgraded shoulders and a katana from Teiwaz nd that's what it's been using since. This new form looks to have the shoulders from the new graze and the new weapons may also be from something.
I love the base HG Graze kits. It can do everything RGs can minus being fidgety. Are all IBO kits this good? I have McGillis' custom just waiting to be assembled, and my SO has taken an interest in building gunpla despite her having no idea about this shows, she just mentioned she liked the purple one.
>>13789602 Barbatos's main flaw is that thanks to a ton of color apps it is sticker heavy (And even then it doesn't make it color accurate). Man rodi (And I assume gusion as well) is slightly less articulated than the others due to its bulk. Otherwise those two have been great kits, especially in terms of detail. I just wish that they came with an "Open" style hand.
>>13781451 If you buyed HG Gundam Barbatos (or Barbatos + Long Range Booster), Option Part 1, Standard Graze (or Barbatos + Long Range Booster) and Scwalbe Graze, you can build all forms of Barbatos 1 between 5
>>13789729 I think she just referred to Gayleo's custom graze. Guess I'll get it for her, I like the image in my head seeing all Graze variants together with their unique weapons out. >>13789687 I'm still not sure whether I actually like Barbatos or not. I like how he looks but the random red/yellow all over the place isn't my thing. Painting those grills with the same color as his inner frame would look really cool I think.
Dogg, you would be shocked at how easy it is for a modernized society to lose important information. The original design schematics for both the entire apollo program, as well as the A-10 Thunderbolt, are straight up fucking gone now and the US Government has had to spend millions of dollars reverse-engineering the surviving examples to fabricate parts, and that's in a space of less than a century.
Should I get the 1/144 Gusion or wait for the 1/100? If the 1/100 really can be made as Rebake...idk maybe after I see the Rebake in action I'll be able to choose. Right now I feel like I'd want classic Gusion as big sexy 1/100.
