Well, in my opinion maybe the ideas weren't bad. The problem was that he wanted Hibiki to have a "happy family" but he made topdad an alcoholic who "raised his hand" against his family in G's keyword so it was problematic, it required a great reason to bring back the happy family without being forced. There wasn't a great reason, in fact it was too poorly done. But Kaneko wasn't the only was is at blame, probably he was forced by KR to put 1 new song per episode and if it's possible no more than 1 new song per episode. Only episodes 2 and 11 had 2 new songs without one of them being a duet of 2 existing songs (episode 5) or an Ignite (episodes 6 and 12) and the first one in episode 11 was Little Miracle which had been released in July. Well, this thing about "only 1 new song per episode" is just speculation , maybe KR gave him full freedom I seriously doubt that was the case.

The other guys in the staff were also to blame because they didn't try to stop him and they didn't tell him anything bad about GX even if they didn't like it. So well, with everything said he still had to forgive topdad because he just wanted to do it but he only had made him more of an asshole (I remember that in the radio show Iguchi and Aoi said that topdad was a bad person when episode 8 aired) and he only had around 10 minutes to forgive him since he had to start the final fight and introduce Carol's song which only sold worse than Tsubasa and Hibiki, a great success.
In summary, Kaneko is the most at fault but there are more people who are to blame but since GX sold well we'll have another season and we have 2 possibilites for the future:
1 - S4 will be like GX since it sold pretty well.
2 - They come to their senses and do a better season than GX.

They're to blame for not speaking up, but we don't know the circumstances behind production, and at the end of the day they were still all his ideas so it's his fault.

I just read Zoid's RTs

Fun stuff happened in the first episode of Smile Gang for 2016.
The headline corner's topic for this episode is "goals for this year". Nana's headline is "Aim to become a woman that knows to says "no"".
Misato commented that its sounds deep and asked Nana if there's something up. Nana replied that she's just saying "Oh really? Okay okay!" or "Ah, that's nice!" to anyone's recommendation/suggestion.
Then Nana told a story of her recent experience. When she went to a certain shop, the shop keeper said to her "This shampoo is really great and good for the scalp, but its really expensive..". Nana explains that it supposedly heals the scalp and cures the body's sensation. Misato says "It won't get cured." Nana quickly reacts and says "What?! That's a lie, they told me that the scalp is important!"
Nana doesn't believe Misato because they said there's no shampoo that thinks of the scalp. Misato says "there's no such shampoo that cures the body's sensation". Nana replies "That's a lie!! That's what they told me!!" and says it was super expensive. She doesn't want to say it because it might be too high. Misato tells her to write the price on the paper, and then Nana wrote it, saying this price is only for the shampoo. (they have a script and a pen when they record, that's probably where she wrote)
Misato said "That's expensiiive!" upon seeing the price.

Nana said to the shopkeeper "Is it really okay?!, Then, please." she was only supposed to get the shampoo but she bought the shampoo and a conditioner too. Misato said "wow" and Nana laughed.
Then Nana said they were saying "We are just giving a kind thought" enthusiastically and encouraged her. Nana thought "Ah, is that so? Is this really alright?!" since they were saying it very hard and she thought they were really thinking about her, and then she agreed to buy and they told her to go right ahead. And so, because of that Nana wants to be a woman that knows how to say "no". Misato says that she should give it back, but Nana said she already used it so its not possible. Misato says that it (the story) makes her angry.
Nana told her make up staff and women staff that "so, I bought this" and then they all said "Huh?!"and "What are you doing?! You totally were fooled!". Nana said "Is that so?! I-I thought it was good! I think this is effective! This is effective right?" and then she said to them (the women staff) "Why is everyone looking at me with sad eyes?" then she sadly said "I thought it was effective.." and Misato said "Its no good!" Then Nana said she really wants to be a woman who knows to say "no". Misato said "Please really do so."

Next is the game corner. They're starting the year with a sugoroku game, and if you lose you get a punishment game point. (if you don't know sugoroku, google it.)
Nana says she has a bad feeling about the game because its Smile Gang-ish. Misato agreed to her.
Then they started the game. Nana picks the color red and Misato picks green because its Christmas. (they recorded this episode in 2015 after Christmas) They played rock-paper-scissors to decide the first one to roll the dice and Nana won.
She got one, and she needs to say one erotic word. Nana said "butt" (Oshiri).
After they laughed a bit, next is Misato's turn. She got three, and she needs to slap Ozone-manager's face. (Ozone is one of the staff of SmaGang) Ozone-manager is not there at that time so Misato will just slap the guy next to him, Onda-san (SmaGang staff). Misato went ahead and slapped him.
Next is Nana's turn. She got three, and she needs to do the same the same as Misato (slapping Ozone) so she slapped Onda.
Next is Misato's turn. She got 4, and she needs to do a weird dance. And so she did a weird dance but since this is a radio we don't know what she did, but Nana really laughed and said "what is that".
Next is Nana's turn. She got 5, and she needs to say a cool line. Nana said "I won't let you go home tonight" (in a Sakimori like voice) and quickly laughed afterwards. Misato says "Nana said "butt" then said a cool line". Nana is still laughing.
Next is Misato's turn. She got 3, and she needs to do squats. And so she did.
Next is Nana's turn. She got 2, and she needs to do the same as Misato (squats). She did.

She said "I want to sleep beside you!" in a cutesy voice the bursted out laughing 2 seconds after she says the line again. She asked if its no good and Misato said "No, I think its good". Then Nana goes in her super embarrassed mode and shouts "Its embarrassing, stop it, geez!!" Misato says her skill is high level. Nana shouts "Nooo!!" Misato says "I see, I get it. Nana-san is in that mood today." Nana says "Ahhhh so embarrassing! SO EMBARRASSING!!"
Nana's turn is still not finished. She gets 2, and she needs to make her partner do something she likes to her (meaning Misato will order Nana). Nana nearly loses it and shouts "No way! Wait, that's- Misato is-! But-! Why am I-? Huh?!?!". Misato proceeds and tells her to say a sweet line from a newly-wed's first night. Nana shouts "Wait, whyyyyy!?!?!?", Misato proceeds and says "go!" Nana can't stop laughing and says "why?!" Misato says "I'm serious."

Misato gets 6 and she needs to make her partner do something she likes to her (the same as earlier). Nana says "Then, Misato, you'll do the same! Say a sweet line from a newly-wed's first night! With all your heart, a sweet line!" Misato says "okay..". Misato says "Hold me tight throught the night, okay?" In a young girl's voice." They all laughed and Nana said "Who?!" "Suddenly a young girl appeared! What's with that?!" Misato says "Scary, scary!"
They proceed. Nana gets 2, she needs to do the same again (make her partner do something she likes to her) and says "No way! Let's stop with this loop!(then you can hear her tapping the table repeatedly) Hey, hey hey! wait, wait..". Misato half-laughingly says "This is dangerous.." Then Misato says "Then, tell a sweet line on their wedding anniversary". Nana said "Eh?! Wedding Anniversary?! why..?!" Misato adds further details and says "On their third year wedding anniversary." Nana is forced, yet again and so she proceeds. She said "I'll be always the number one, right?" (in a sweet voice, quite same as the last time) then they laughed again after saying the line. Misato says "That's right, you're the number one." Nana laughs.
Nana explains that the loop is someone gets to do one thing first then it passes to the next person. (like in the slapping and the puns)

Ah, but I really regret the punishment game this year. I left Misato alone to take the game." (they're still in 2015, Misato's the one who gets the punishment game in 2015) Misato shouts "That's full of lies!" in an angry tone. Nana laughs and Misato repeats what she said in a more angrier tone. She said that the punishment game is still fresh in her memories.
Next is Misato's turn. She gets 3, and she needs to do the same as earlier. (thing you regret doing in SmaGang) They both laugh and Nana said "We're always together." Then Misato proceeds and says she regret the baseball interpretations. (Because she got punishment game points because of that)
Next is Nana's turn. She gets 6. She gets to the goal and finishes the game.
Then Misato says that they were concentrating so much on the game they forgot about winning. Nana says they were only thinking of what will the other person do. Misato said "this is dangerous".
And so, Misato earns one punishment game point as a present for the New Year.
