>How to get into KR and where to start?
>List of subbed series:
What does /krg/ think of Super-1, I wanna check it out because that suit is god like.
That was just the start. I also ended up buying Shift Car sets 03 and 04, as well as the Formula set. Also going to buy Door Gun, Handle Ken and a gashapon set for Midnight Shadow and Burning Solar. This also means I'll have a duplicate Dream Vegas I'll need to sell.
Why have these threads gotten so full of edgelords lately?
So what are some nice gimmicks to have during a final battle?
Like using all your form changes and power ups, combining power ups, power of friendship and heart, double/triple transformations and finishers, simultaneous battles at different places etc
>So what are some nice gimmicks to have during a final battle?
The ability to just have a punch out in the snow without annoying as fuck toys or jingles taking away punching time.
Yeah. Don't worry about it and go watch Terui beats people up the movie
>Gou you little shit, this is serious stop posing
Both W and Drive had weddings, close ties with police, dead fathers, "gifted people", a guy based on a motorbike, a criminal movie Rider, a lead that tries to act a certain way but fumbles at times, inspiration from the west, and making a big deal about being a Kamen Rider.
Also a matte black, incomplete version of the main Rider with purple accents that is weaker than the main Rider and unable to use the gimmick of the main Rider.
I say they started off the same, trying to pass off the cool detective/cop schtick, but progressed and ended differently.
Also I fogort to mention both stories start with the MC fucking up their previous partner through carelessness.
>and making a big deal about being a Kamen Rider.
I found that weird when watching early Drive since it's not like anybody told Tomari that the name "Kamen Rider" was a big deal and he didn't wasn't familiar with other Riders at the time ether. Compare with Double where Shotaro only brings it up in episode 20, and it's specifically because by that point Double had enough of a reputation that people expect certain things.
>not like anybody told Tomari that the name "Kamen Rider" was a big deal
Nigga what? He saw Kiriko smile when he mentioned being called a Rider then he asked Belt about it and got told it was a good thing.
He does have some weak movies and his parts of the Movie Wars, connected to Tsukada shows, are also the weakest. But the other parts makes up for some of it, except in Core. Fuck everything that isn't about Skull in that.
Even if that before the first time he brought it up, it's not really a lot of build-up compared to other series. If I recall correctly, Fourze's cast only took the name Kamen Rider after Tomoko told them about the others.
>only brings it up in episode 20
That was just as relevant with the Arms Dopant and in A to Z. It matters because Shotarou cares about Fuuto and that's the name the city gave them. It's a sign of recognition and anything else would tarnish it.
The thing with Drive that I noticed is that the name Kamen Rider wasn't as important at the start, but as the show went on it became more and more important. Hell, in Gou's big speech at the end of 40 he calls it his duty as a Kamen Rider to face Banno.
That line was a little less explicitly about the general idea of being a Rider compared to when he talks about it with Terui since Arms Dopant was specifically pretending to be Shotaro and Philip's Rider. And I guess I should have written it as "first brings it up".
They walk the path of heaven so hard obaa-chan materialises and rider kicks John Toei and his mooks in a black hole.
The tendous then cure cancer, hunger in Africa and make Wizard a good show.
Pushes the pressure points in all the right ways. I think it's because they're a complete showcase of certain series' particular aesthetic.
Dear /krg/ friends posting fanart from twitter.
Could you please at least post the twitter handles especially when you're doing whole sets.
Not only is browsing twitter a nightmare but trying to track down the artists page is even more annoying as google picks random tweets and unrelated profiles or nothing at all. And other reverse search sites don't scan twitter at all.
I just finished watching Faiz with a friend recently and Christ, that was even more infuriatingly and consistently frustrating to watch than the later parts of Kiva, especially since there were so many things I wanted to like drowned out by the soap opera. Things got a bit better during the ending stretch after everyone starts ignoring Kusaka but that came roughly 20 episodes too late and the ending resolved nothing other than that Takumi is never allowed to not suffer.
Watching Paradise Lost after the series felt really damn good though, both since it was a great movie on its own right and because it practically went out of its way to pull off things that the show dropped the ball on, like making Blaster actually feel like a final form, everyone treating Kusaka like an asshole right off the bat, and the main cast actively stopping to talk things out with each other except for one major exception (Kiba becoming Orga) and even that exception felt much less contrived than many of the series' misunderstandings for the limited movie time they had to work with.
>some posts fanart from a booru site
>"It's fine as long as its Danbooru it will have the source"
>try to find it via google reverse search
>wade through tons of posts from elsewhere
>finally get to Danbooru page
>do the same for Gelbooru or Sankaku Complex
>no sauce ever
The struggle is real.
At least with the ones Peachy posts are some she retweets as well so those are easy enough to track down.
People are really into the whole "Year of the Monkey" thing with Ghost. That's the third Son Goku design I've seen. Guess it's a cool thing Sanzo coming out in February.
A lot of the people she post from don't post on twitter exclusively. They have pixiv accounts which as of late have been way more easy to reverse search.
Artist who use twitter only are a bitch to track down.
Pixiv saves the image id as the filename. Copy it paste it into any existing pixiv link wam bam you're looking at the source.
Twitter doesn't have that luxury.
Have you guys played this before?
It's for the Super Famicom. It's pretty fun, if simple. Ride your bike and kick guys. Fight a boss. Buy upgrades.
You'd be surprised how many kids love the bad guy. But I'd imagine they do what they do when they see anything or anyone from the show. Grin with glee or cry in a mixture of terror and happiness.
So my dumbass theory is that Super Mashin Chaser is a temporary thing that he abandons for the sake of his identity as a Rider. Although my only evidence for this is him shouting "I AM KAMEN RIDER CHASER!" in the trailer in what looks like final battle set up
I have a dumbass theory that the Super Sentai versus movies aren't canon at all, and all the references to them existing in the same universe is breaking the fourth wall. Although my only evidence for this is them shouting "WE ARE SUPER SENTAI!" during what seems like the final battle roll calls.
Say Rider fans, this topic gave me an idea: >>13705183
What if /m/ made its own Kamen Rider kaijin guide/statistics or something? At least 45 people post here frequently so theoretically it can be done in a short amount of time.
The vast majority of the franchise is subbed and there are many websites including the wiki that do tell the kaijin's name and episode appearance. Plus all you need is someone who is watching a show, ask them to list down things the monsters do, and post it somewhere when they finish.
But it's Kamen Rider, the show where everything's bullshit and the Stats don't matter? Constucting a guide for like ~40 monsters times 26 seasons sounds like a huge sink of effort for very little reward.
I had a blast going through that a few months back, have fun!
And I have to repost this because it makes me laugh my ass off every time
He didn't hide really hide Deadheat, it only started development after the fight with Heart and wasn't complete yet when it was first used. Formula on the other hand was clearly hidden for a while you're right on that one
Formula was still in development up until Triple Tune Chaser, and it aws incomplete the first time Shinnosuke used it, and he damn near killed himself using the regular Full Throttle.
>ITT: Cosmic Switch combinations
>Spike and Drill
>Gen's leg is covered in tiny drills
The science of friendship.
>Smoke and Beat while using Flash
Time to fucking rave.
>Why build superpowered evolving monster robots if they could potentially be fully sentient and dangerous?
>Why invent some super advanced power core system if it could be difficult to control?
>Why install said dangerous power core system into a bunch of gadgets and fucking car if it could potentially cause slowdown and be misused?
That's not even vaguely close to answering the question.
Why build a Shift Car that could potentially be the perfect counter to Roidmudes and then not use it? The only excuse i can think of is Heart's Dead Zone but that's one Roidmude out of at the time like 70.
>V3?, Stronger?, Kuuga, Ryuki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, OOO?, Wizard, Drive
>Rider 1, Rider 2, X, Amazon, Skyrider, Super-1, Black, Black RX, Shin, ZO, J, Agito, Faiz, Blade, Hibiki, Decade, W, Fourze, Gaim, Ghost
Has anyone transfered data of Storm Heroes from the andy simulator to a cellphone?
i'd like to know if im losing certain items or not.
Thanks in advance.
Same reason why sentai leader is red?
This was too catchy, having it on my walkman all day kinda got the dance stuck in my head, so I learned it and now can't stop pulling the moves off every time I hear it. Just need my own rider dance troupe.
Since day one of his reveal. Hell his mask even looks the omnitrix symbol.
That's not that guilty. http://youtu.be/68JQtxTzjqc
>needs to sleep
>can feel the temperature of water
>is really fucking dead
Also, is anyone else bothered by the fact that we're now a quarter of the way into the show and we still don't know what the fuck Sage or Alan want?
This isn't Gaim, anon.
I'm still convinced Alan doesn't really want anything, but I'm not expecting either of their intentions to be revealed until the halfway point at the very earliest, and then the other towards the end.
>and making a big deal about being a Kamen Rider.
This makes me curious about something.
For very obvious reasons the Riders in every series generally don't acknowledge the previous season(s) (with the exception of Ghost and Decade), so they have every right to believe they're the first Kamen Rider, but how do you think Shotaro felt when he met other Kamen Riders? Like, that was a title Fuuto gave him, but now here's this pink douche and this red green and yellow doof running around calling themselves Kamen Rider. What the fuck, yo?
Right, I forgot about that because it wasn't brought up that often. Now I'm remembering the scene from one of the movies where they cosplayed as the Rider they were named after and we got NozAmazon.
Chase better get his own theme song in the movie. It's a goddamned crime that he didn't already have one
Spinning Wheel is rad but it doesn't count
Shinnosuke was fighting for JUSTICE
Kiriko was a nice benefit tho
Nah. The song itself is basically:
Shinnosuke could only ever be motivated by his love for Kiriko, and otherwise he'd never be able to start his engine and fight for justice Chase was reminded by Kiriko's existence that he was always a protector at heart, and wanted to do everything he could to protect her
Gou didn't want Kiriko to find out the truth about their father and crush her from the reality that she's responsible by relation - a pretty common motif in Japanese dramas.
You're not wrong, but the Spinning Wheel MV kicks the shit out of the Ranbu Escalation one Power to Tearer still a best MV
That's a great interpretation but I still think that Shin already had a pretty strong internalized sense of Justice being a cop and all. I do agree that Kiriko plays a strong part in forging him into the man that he was for the second half of Drive
>Chaser and Formula themes never
What's Steel Sound Police Dept. doing right now? They released two songs at the beginning of last year then peace'd out. They've gotten enough time to come up with a Chase theme.
>Uses a gun that can be empowered by his gimmicks
>Second actual Rider to appear in the show
>Considered by design to be the more "powerful" of the two systems
>Motivated by his close connections with a woman
>Operates under hte control of villains for a large arc, punctuated with a major form change
>At odds with the inhuman Rider
>Has a song that punctuates several verses with "Got to be strong" (Don't Lose Your Mind)
Is Gou "Getting His Sister Fucked At Mach Speed" Shijima the new Touchy-banana-zan?
I wanna say that 1 of them, either far left or far right, is a woman at least.
He's a repaint of a pre-existing Rider, so no he doesn't. It's in the same way that Gold Drive wasn't the show's sixth Rider.
>He's a repaint of a pre-existing Rider, so no he doesn't. It's in the same way that Gold Drive wasn't the show's sixth Rider.
It's the names what determines the Rider.
By that logic Rider 1 and 2 should be the same.
Rider 2 isn't a repaint at all, you retard. THey have separate outfits, powersets, and titles.
Proto-Drive is literally just the prototype for Kamen Rider Drive, who had already existed a decade prior using the "Zero Drive" form.
>Rider 2 isn't a repaint at all, you retard. THey have separate outfits, powersets, and titles.
The only actual difference are the stripes, after that its just painting.
>roto-Drive is literally just the prototype for Kamen Rider Drive, who had already existed a decade prior using the "Zero Drive" form.
They are different drivers by different users and different denominations.
If they were "Drive type Prototype" or "Drive Type Zero" you would have a point.
>The only actual difference are the stripes, after that its just painting.
Except for factors like Ichimonji using an upgraded Typhoon that doesn't need wind to transform, and his conversion being more a straight up strength boost as opposed to giving him the proportional strength of a grasshopper.
>If they were "Drive type Prototype" or "Drive Type Zero" you would have a point.
But they were. Proto-Drive, used by Proto-Zero, uses Shift Proto-Speed. It's literally 'Drive Type Prototype Speed"
>Except for factors like Ichimonji using an upgraded Typhoon that doesn't need wind to transform, and his conversion being more a straight up strength boost as opposed to giving him the proportional strength of a grasshopper.
Those are all setting differences, not suit differences. Proto Drive and Gold Drive also have different abilities than Drive.
>'Drive Type Prototype Speed"
I've never seen it called that way. Bandai says its Protodrive.
>Proto-Drive is the title
Exactly my point. He's Kamen Rider Proto Drive, nit Kamen Rider Drive.
>as you described a setting difference.
Him being the protoype for Drive, yeah. The suit and denomination is still different though.
>The shift Car is literally "Proto-Speed."
Seeing the influx of rider cosplay from comiket in earlier thread made me curious; have any of /krg/ done rider cosplay before? Characters in or out of the rider suit?
I always see one or two at cons, but never anything of amazing quality. It's still really nice to come across other rider fans in person.
>That's literally my point, that alone just shows it's "Prototype Speed"
Is there a Kamen Rider Max Flare? I dont think so.
And Protoype Speed is different from Drive anyways.
And that's even ignoring the fact that I posted a literal image of an official source confirming its Kamen Rider Protodrive.
>How the fuck do you not understand what abbreviation is
How the fuck do you not understand what a word is?
>The only difference is no Tire Changes and no ability to destroy Viral Cores.
Which is sort of a big deal and way bigger than the differences you pointed out between Rider 1 and 2.
Not to mention that's just you being arbitrary on what a different Rider is. Bandai says its different, then it is.
Dark Kabuto and Ryuga were to sell more toys.
Dark Kabuto can be skipped in story and it wouldn't make a difference and Ryuga was a movie only palette swap.
Proto Drive is technically Drive Growing/Plate form.
I'm still surprised Type Tridoron hasn't gone up yet. Specter is already getting released before it does.
Well the point of KR is to sell toys but I get what you're saying. Proto Drive is it's own design though the changes are slight.
Ryuga and Dark Kabuto are lazy repaints.
Gold Drive is a lazy repaint too but fuck you Banno is god.
>they only go for roughly $50-$60
>tax returns soon
I feel myself slipping.
Also, is the Tune Chaser Set just attachments, or is it a full fledged figure? I ask because he's cheaper than Mashin.
Here why I don't mind Ryuga and Gold Drive.
They're pretty straight forward repaints.
They don't look like some kid took all the Hot Wheels decal stickers and put them on a black Kamen Rider toy. Like Dark Kabuto, Nega Den-O, or War God Gaim.
Mach Driver doesn't do types. That's why Kamen Rider DeadHeat Drive is a thing.
What is this show and why does it look promising?
For the people that voted triangles, were you all just going to vote for Makoto anyways?
What do you think is the most important power to have for a Rider?
Shame Okamoto didn't actually portray a B-Fighter, just did the suit for one. He was at it for longer but for some reason Reuben Langdon and Takaiwa Seiji managed to get roles sooner.
Gou never mentions anything about being at top gear. Tomari does. On top of that, there is no mention of Mach being said in English, while Drive is.
To me, it would make sense if Don't lose your mind is Drive's theme, while Full Throttle is Mach's.
I'm not involved in this, but listening to the song, he's not wrong. The very first lyric is basically word-for-word something Gou says about Chase. I think it's supposed to be for both.
Specter has the most forms of any secondary. He won.
Toy wise, I could say that Ghost's, Drive's and Fourze's belts are much bulkier than those. Or were you trying to say the opposite? OOO's is the handiest if it wasn't for the scanner.
>Toy wise, I could say that Ghost's, Drive's and Fourze's belts are much bulkier than those. Or were you trying to say the opposite?
Yeah, I was trying to say they aren't carrying giant fanny packs.
Ah yeah. But Gaim's has attachments.
I wait for the day when technology has advanced to the point that holograms can be easily made and then our heroes would be able to enjoy having belts as compact as RX's but with more lights and sounds.
Don't forget to bring 40 liters of fake blood.
Adding to this, the videos are actually interlaced meaning that they duplicate frames to make 60 frames. Thus, they don't have 60 unique frames per seconds which gives it a weird blur.
>[OZC-Live]Kamen Rider Fourze BD Box E29 [720p]
>[OZC-Live]Kamen Rider Fourze BD Box E30 [720p]
Type Next is so slick, I can't wait to watch this
The 1080p alone makes it worth going through it again.
Shiny vinyl undersuits eg Drive and Den-O (and especially Zeronos good god). Or at least not baggy ones, even from a non-perverted view it's aesthetically displeasing.
Aesthetically... relatively sleek and balanced but stylish and not overly realistic-looking design (I like Decade, Ghost, OOO, W, and Meteor to name a few), bright saturated colour accents on top of a dark base suit (Spectre looks FANTASTIC), clear plastic can look very cool too (loved it on Garren), big cute eyes (Garren again but also Kabuto and Ghost), etc
Look at the back of Kuuga and the helmet, that line separating him from the background, that's unmistakably haloing from sharpening.
I hate it when they do that. Mostly because it doesn't even sharpen the image much, it just makes some lines stand out, but then there's all the ones that are still blurry because the shitty algorithm didn't pick it up.
It's fine if you wanna watch it twice, thrice, or on repeat until you die, but I really would like to question why, not even 3 years after it ended, you would want to watch this show again. That's not even regarding the quality of the show, that's just seriously wondering why you would not instead do literally ANYTHING else, and let it sit for a while before you watch a 50 episode show again.
So what do you guys think about Alan? I think he's boring.
He's a bit intriguing but he hasn't done anything yet but manipulate some geezer and bully Javel
Kamen Rider Kabuto : Episode 26
Surprise Future's on Toei's Movie channel now if you can proxy through to it.
I dunno Youtube has this weird rental service thing that I'm surprised anybody uses.
Nobody is going to buy the blu-ray except for people that are going to buy it regardless of things like this.
