Crossbone sure has been getting a lot of RD love lately, and now X1 is getting a HG. Wonder how much farther it will go in the HG direction?
half of them will be P-Bandai exclusives just saying.
jupiter empire HGs Never ;_;
The Crossbone Core Fighter always looks kind of hilarious with the thrusters that are three times its size.
Anyway, this was to be expected after pic happened.
>all dis crossbone love
thanks for not saying anime confirmed OP.
>they've been making Crossbone suits for years
The HGUC Crossbone is the first suit from the manga series in 1/144. There's a MG and RD of it, but that's it. We've known since about February of last year that we would be getting a Crossbones HG, thanks to Derringer, which was confirmed when the Maoh came out (a number of the plates were labeled Crossbone, not Crossbone Maoh).
Also, Bandai's recent habit of making at least two kits from each mold (which allowed us to have the All-Gundam Project). Only a very few kits these days will be the sole kit of a mold. Most have at least 2. These two reasons are why we knew that X1 was getting an HG, why V2AB will be getting one, and why there won't be a Victory Hexa.
Which also means that it's possible (or even likely) we won't be getting the RG Gouf that Bandai had prepared at last year's Shizuoka. Bandai did the same thing with the ZZ; they released it as a HGUC (it had a prior 1/144, just before the HGUC line was a thing) and then went about skipping it when they started doing their RG Mk II, Zeta, and so forth.
A Real Grade of the ZZ would be a real clusterfuck. A Nu would be more likely, or one of the one that were presented alongside the Destiny's announcement: GM or Gundam Ground Type.
>getting to see Giri in not Hasegawa Art style
oh glorious day
>RG Gouf that Bandai had prepared at last year's Shizuoka.
They hadn't prepared anything really. It was a group of test linearts with no release dates or promises attached that bandai threw up all at once to gauge interest. And I'm pretty sure that they were first put out a couple years ago, not last just year.
I could totally get behind these Character Designs for the anime, if there ever is one.
I hope when the Full Cloth HG comes out they do it like how the RD did the Cloak.
actually the X Kai has slightly different X thusters and a new Jovian Buster Launcher but no Core Fighter.
They'll likely release vanilla X-2 with the cape and SNRI Buster Launcher
well someone made a 1/100, would love to see a really one.
also, how much will bandai will milk this? I can think of:
- X-1 Kai
- X-1 Kai Kai Skullheart
- X-1 Full Cloth
- X-2 Kai
- X-0 Ghost
- XM-10 Flint
a thing i find funny is, with all these recolours of the Crossbone gundams I wouldn't complain and probably buy most if not all of them, but when Seed and the Strike do all the recolours i call Bullshit. funny how double standards work
also you forgot HG X1 Patchwork.
that's because crossbone is pure sex
isn't that the weird mix match of the X-3 with an X.1 arm or the other way around?
I think I'll get 2 copies of the HG X-1 just to repaint one like the X-0 Ghost
>isn't that the weird mix match of the X-3 with an X.1 arm or the other way around?
yeah pretty much. Tobia got fucked on the moon, so they had to repair the X1 with what they had laying around.
More or less all of the Crossbone line's wonderful little toys shoved into one MS.
Betting on the Ghost being an online exclusive at the very least.
>More or less all of the Crossbone line's wonderful little toys shoved into one MS.
bah, should have been a comma there.
Also could see this being a web exclusive as well.
You know, HG/MG Phantom Gundam, i want it.
it's been a while since I read the crossbone manga, but didn't tobia selfdestructed his X-3 in the final battle? or they had some spare parts of the X-3 laying around in Steel 7?
Effects parts would be pretty sweet.
I'd want to paint it a different shade, though. That green just doesn't sit right with me.
they had spare parts of the X3 in the hanger somewhere but yeah Tobia did self destruct the X3 in the final battle, and thats how he got the X1.
>all those flame effect parts
Alright /m/ whats your favorite Crossbone Suit and favorite Character?
Easily X1 and Tobia motherfucking Arronax
>Being young and ridiculously resourceful
>DEFEATING A FUCKING GUNDAM ON FOOT
obligatory as always
>saved the fucking world, TWICE
>still kick ass jupiter's ass piloting a 20 year old machine, BLIND
I want a SRW with both Tobia and Garrod.
With one scenario that gets them captured, and the two starting units you get being Tobia and Garrod on foot against X2 and other grunts.
With other on-foot fighters saving the day like Master Asia+Domon, Roberto and that guy from Linebarrels.
>favorite Crossbone Suit
No face-open accessory shown, meh.
This HGUC seems to be based on Katoki's version. You can tell from the waist plates.
RD > Hasegawa beefcake version
HGUC > Katoki version
Would actually be fun to display them side-by-side
Well you already posted them.
Do like the Flint though, one of the cooler MP/grunt units in UC.
...and that's the wrong pic. Damn it.
>Doesn't love the beefcake Full Cloth that makes no sense how it moves its arms and legs freely the best
The RD hands should have no issue holding the weapons.
Not very optimistic about the brand-marker parts.
Anyway, even with the HGUC, RD and old-RD we're still missing the screw-whip and scissor anchors.
You can tell from the shitty X-pylons, thighs, shoulders, arms, pretty much every aspect of the design in general.
Seeing as it's ver Ka, no buy. God his Crossbones are the worst.
Katoki cleaned up Hasegawa's initial sketches, then Hasegawa retooled it into the manga design.
So I'm not sure what you're getting at, here. Are you denying the designs in the manga are not drawn by Yuichi Hasegawa, or denying there are no differences between his version and Katoki's?
Draft by Hasegawa>Clean up by Katoki>Final manga appearance by Hasegawa
>original Katoki clean up for Crossbone circled in red
s-stop it anon, making me cry that they aren't and never will any models of the Jupiter forces.
shh no one counts him
>okawara gets "credit" for the RX-78-2 Design even though Tomino made them originally
This is true, by the way. Tomino would provide rough sketches for Okawara to streamline. Stuff like this is seriously not uncommon. You've got to be able to communicate to the designer what you want somehow. Mechanical design is usually a collaborative process.
Doesn't have them at all by the looks of it since in the accessories shot they aren't shown. Maybe a different crossbone HG will have them.
>Crossbone, gouf, darkhound, and silver bullet kitbash.
Better look up the sizes of those MS bud. Crossbone is tiny as heck, DH and gouf are about average, and silver bullet is huge. Would be disproportionate as hell.
>Glorious axe face never.
>Probably won't even get the crossbones Zondo Gei or Flint.
We will never get a HGUC Zondo Gei twin pack because of how small they are (Smallest "full sized" MS in gundam).
IIRC this is a concept machine that Tomino created, he wanted Okawara to clean it up, and it became the Zaku.
That Zaku design concept even appears in Gundam Sousei.
Sure, it's a dramatized, exaggerated take on the production of MSG, but hey, I assume the basic points are true.
>all that Late UC love
All I want is an HG Tomliat...
just want the wires from each. the gouf (probably custom) right arm, darkhound shoulders, silver bullet bp or maybe if the arm isnt to big that one too and the cross bone skirts. all on a different body.
>Everyone knows the next HGAC will be the Zero Custom though.
God I hope not, we're in the dire need of new other gundam mold. Would like a new Deathschyte, Sandrock or Heavyarms
> inb4 new HG turned out to be Talgeese Fluegel
