I liked the action a lot and the mecha designs were decent, except for the tiny feet. I see people complain a lot about the cast, especially the students, but I found them all likeable. Also Sebastian was awesome. Not sure what to think of the ending since it felt like a sequel hook and if they manage to get at least an ova or something it would be cool, but it could've had a better closure.

PA Works are starting to do some sequels for old shows so a Kuromukuro sequel, preferably just 1 cour or something, would be cool. A movie would be fine, too.

Armageddon on the other hand doesn't really have much humor at all and pretty much serious all the way through.

Before the 'lol real robot' smartasses roll in.

Modern real robot in the traditional sense of what it describes as a genre is for the most part pretty rare or mostly extinct.

Most series tend to blend together now into a weird hybrid with both elements you'd see in traditional super/real series.

I suppose the closest thing which embodies most of the themes people used to look for in real robot far as modern series go is Fafner Exodus and it's a excellent one too. But even that had some pretty over the top moments at times though within context of the series, it's still by far the closest you'll get these days.

The tacti-cool element of mecha which is sort of the other side of the old real robot genre though is a endangered species now. You'll definitely have to delve back into the 90's/early 00's to get your fix of that.

I found the relationship fine considering the circumstances. Amuro didn't like her in the first place, so there wasn't much she could do if she liked him besides get over it. He was busy being a soldier and didn't have time for love either way from what I remember, considering he didn't make much of an attempt with Sayla.

No, we needed more scenes with Fraw Bow, instead Tomino gave us filler episodes.

I seem to remember it being mentioned in an interview or something with Tomino that Fraw wanted to be a clothing designer after the OYW, and that the handkerchief around her neck is supposed to hint at that, maybe she did that eventually.

Fraw Bow was a fat whore and Amuro deserved far better.

We needed far fewer scenes with her in them. I'd honestly take more filler over anything focusing on her.

Tbh I like the cgi battles and seeing the dis astranagant was rad but it was pretty boring all things considered

The ending you read was one of many intended endings for 009 which has a very tangled publication history as it is. Not to mention only certain arcs, or sometimes just certain chapters of certain arcs, are translated from that point on. On top of that some of the translated shit was then deemed non-canon. So really just say fuck it and read what you can find after the Comixology stuff. You already know plenty about the world and characters.

No. Don't read God's War! It's widely considered to be some of the worst things ever done to 009 and only follows Ishinomori's notes up to a point. Most of it is Jo Onodera's fanfiction and believe me, that guy is not writer. The artists also did a rush job at it and Sugar Sato looks especially unappealing.
